There was a rooftop party that went until after 2AM. We were booked on the floor beneath it with a block of rooms for a wedding. It was extremely loud and music playing constantly. Hotel was fully aware a wedding would be taking place that evening. Some guests didn’t even stay the night due to the extreme noise. This apparently happens every Saturday night!!

Room itself was fine; clean and modern. The issue is that the walls are paper thin- you can hear conversations, snoring, and television sounds clearly in your own room. Furthermore, the place is primarily an event venue/banquet hall so there will be significant ambient party sounds as well as rambunctious/loud guests. This may not be the place for you if you are staying on a weekend. Also there is no one attending the “cafe” which doesn’t even offer food beyond packaged snacks. Not worth the rate I paid, imo.

My introduction to this hotel came through social media platforms TikTok and Instagram, where promotional videos showcased its attractive features. This led us to book a stay. Upon entering the lobby, I was impressed by its chic decor and beautiful interior design. However, the hallways leading to the rooms were marred by a strong smell of marijuana, which detracted from the overall experience. Although the rooms were visually appealing, they lacked depth, and several issues arose, including a bathroom door that would not close and a sink with slow drainage. The bedsheet also kept coming off, despite housekeeping services. When inquiring about checkout time and a possible extension, I received conflicting information from the staff. Initially, I was informed that the latest checkout time was 11:30 AM, whereas a subsequent inquiry revealed that the complimentary extension was actually until 12 PM. This discrepancy raised questions about the staff's consistency and willingness to accommodate guests. Moreover, the absence of ice machines on the floors and the need to visit the main floor to obtain ice, which was then provided by the staff, struck me as unusual. We will not be staying here again.

No one was at the desk when we arrived for check in. Waited a few minutes, then called the phone. No answer. Key cards were left out in the open for guests so I took the keycard to our room and went to our room. Staff called all up in arms that I had taken my room keys. Why would they have left them out to grab if it wasn’t self check in

This hotel is beautiful. The lobby has high, high ceilings and incredible artwork. The room we had (luxury king bed), was beautiful. The ceilings are high and everything from the bath towels, to the window drapes were luxurious. The bathroom was beautiful with a walk in shower with titles and large shower head that rained down on you. Anytime we are back in the area, we will be staying here in the future.

The rooms are great, but it’s superficial. No WiFi available due to them switching over to another service. Room was not what we reserved and front desk, while accommodating, made me feel like I was trying to sneak one past her by getting an upgrade that i hadn’t paid for (I had by the way) there is always a problem with the night stands. This has happened more than once at this place. Outlets offered in the nightstand but then nightstand not plugged in. And sometimes outlet is very hard to reach. Why can’t they check this room to room?:/ Movement sensor in the bathroom turns on light and loud fan every time you walk by or enter, nice, except in the middle of the night. Lastly very thin walls and floors, you hear everything outside your room and people walking over your head constantly. This place is beautiful but can be very pricey certain times of the year and I’m just not sure it’s worth it. But Arlington Heights is really lacking in nice updated hotel rooms so you have to weigh your options

The whole experience at this hotel was lovely! Check in was easy and the front desk person was VERY nice. The hallways had an amazing scent so you felt luxurious! The rooms were stunning, the furniture the lighting and the bed OMG The beds are so comfy you never want to get out of them. The bar was delightful and so chic for a rooftop bar it was not chilly in the slightest. What really set them apart was how wonderful everyone was with my dog! It was his first time traveling and I was nervous - but everyone paid him a ton of attention, gave him lots of pets and water and showed him serious love (even other guests).
My ONLY critiques - I only had French Vanilla Creamer in my coffee supplies so keep an eye on that, and the bath towels could be larger. I was barely able to cover my whole body.
Definitely a great place for a wedding, meeting, event etc if you are in Chicago!

Second year that we stay at the Chez for thanksgiving weekend. I absolutely enjoyed my stay last year which is why we chose to stay again this year. Everything was fine even though the heater wasn’t working on the fifth floor, which is where we had to stay. Norma suggested that check out at 11, so we could get a new room. Fatima and this other lady helped us the next day and the service was alright. Fatima stated she would leave a note, and the other lady tried to encourage us to stay on the fifth floor. No note was left, but when we checked back in that night Norma helped us again and she was so kind and accommodated us from the third to the first floor. Absolutely loved her customer service both nights and made our stay more enjoyable. I appreciate her willingness to help us and provide excellent service. Norma is the reason we will probably continue staying at the Chez when visiting Chicago! Give that lady a CHRISTMAS BONUS!!

INCREDIBLE! Fair price with optional extra amenities like the rooftop bar. Great service! New and updated fixtures with clean, luxurious rooms! My only complaints are constructive feedback as a pet owner: there are no outside trash cans and only one door (main lobby) for guests to enter the building. The pet fee is on the high end ($75) but extremely reasonable for such a wonderful hotel. Trash cans and a side door would make it perfect!

The overall decor and cleanliness of the hotel and guest room was great, bed was very comfortable which is not always the case even in the nicest of hotels. Staff were also very friendly and helpful since this was my first time to the Chicago area. Was disappointed with Food & Beverage options and availability, especially Breakfast! For a full service hotel, which is what it seemed to me this was when I booked, this hotel is missing that huge element! I’d really love to know how much Room service breakfast is actually being ordered when you can’t even order until 8am! Way too late for people who need to get off and out for their day, which was the case for me. This hotel could have a better Profit margin by offering a simple breakfast buffet to its guests starting at 6:30am, perhaps something to consider. I would not chose to stay here again because of this simple lack of option.

The front desk is pretty rude - feel like there’s a true lack of customer service. If you have to speak to them it almost feels like you are annoying them. The rooms are surface level clean but very dusty and I had a dead fly in mine. All in all I don’t think you get what you pay for staying here. It doesn’t give 4 star or even 3 star hotel when looking at customer service of the staff and quality of the cleaning (and lack of amenities).

Barking dog in next room. Changed to another room and a party was noisy and using foul language until 2am. Room not cleaned on of the days. Motion light in bath woke up spouse at night. Bright nightlight in electrical outlet was annoying. While it wasn’t too noisy there was a wedding reception that started after 10pm.

During our 2 day stay there was no shampoo, soap for the shower, or conditioner provided either day. They did not replenish the complimentary candy by the bed or coffee pods after consuming them the first day. Beds were comfortable. Very large tv in the room. Room was clean. A/C unit had very loud/annoying sound whenever fan was running. Louder as fan speed increased. They are trying for a luxury experience but miss overall. Still a very nice and clean facility.

Also we were inconveniently placed on the second floor above the ballroom and a wedding reception was going on til after midnight. We heard every song, all the bass and the DJ. We heard guests around us and above us slamming doors and walking loudly about at 2am. We came for a mini staycation for our anniversary and the lack of rest we were able to get was disappointing. I did let the front desk know about this twice but wasn’t met a resolve. Just an apology and a “the entire hotel is booked” in case I wanted to switch rooms. The next night it was the same thing with a different event.

This place may look pretty in the photos, but be prepared for an ugly night of non-sleep. Was there for a sleep study prescribed by a nearby hospital. Priority 1a: Quiet. Called the hotel twice during week regarding my reason for the stay. Was assured I would be found a quiet room. Room #1: one could hear the TV blaring through paper-thin wall into the hallway, 2x worse in my room. Room #2: was quiet for 4 hours. Then the party arrived above, the the constant thuds of each step shook the matchstick-thin floors. Asked for another room from the new person at reception. was told that the hotel is full. I showed the hospital equipment, and my calls to the hotel during the week. Receptionist responded, \"I'm surprised, because this hotel specializes in events ... few of our rooms are quiet. This is deception. I told the receptionist that I was leaving, and would capture my experiences on consumer forums. At least one of us followed through. I paid $153 to escape this prison called Chez Hotel. This is not really a hotel. Instead, it's a Party City hostel.

Place used to be called European Crystal and apparently rebranded to Chez. Don’t know how it was before, but this place is pretty nice now.
Folks were all friendly and rooms very comfortable. Huuuuge TVs on the walls, but the walls themselves were kinda thin. Noise does transfer, for sure. Beds are comfy. Rooms were clean. Place used to be called European Crystal and apparently rebranded to Chez. Don’t know how it was before, but this place is pretty nice now.
Folks were all friendly and rooms very comfortable. Huuuuge TVs on the walls, but the walls themselves were kinda thin. Noise does transfer, for sure. Beds are comfy. Rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly from the second we entered the door. I mentioned a discrepancy with their website and the pet policy; they were receptive and made sure that it would be corrected as soon as possible. Once they learned that we were there for a wedding, they ensured that we were all on the same floor to be together. I’m nitpicking but there was some minor things that I wanted to note: our room phone didn’t work (but we just used our cells to call room service) and the TV had a shortage causing the signal to jump every 3 seconds but it fixed itself after a few hours of staying on. Otherwise everything was great!

This is an absolute 5 star hotel! One of the nicest hotels we have stayed at and I have stayed at lots of resorts and hotels. The special touches like charger cord if you needed one, loufa in the shower, house shoes, umbrella if you needed it, chocolates on the night stand. Very very clean, quiet safe area, friendly and helpful staff, I liked that no one could go to our hallway without a key card.
