Nice, clean hotel. I have stayed here more than once. Same as last time, the facility fee on top of the booking price surprised me. The fee is usual, I think, for hotels in the area. Breakfast has deteriorated - no scrambled eggs or danishes. Overall, a decent place to stay which is well connected through the Green Line and bussing.

I had high expectations for this hotel. I used to live in Brookline when I was in college, and I remember this property as a Holiday Inn. When I finally arrived, my first impression was the front desk staff, who appeared inexperienced and poorly trained. Unfortunately, that set the tone for the rest of my family's stay.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. However, despite requesting a suite with a view of Beacon Street, we were assigned a corner room. I chose not to complain because I wanted to focus on enjoying time with my family.
There were two issues that were particularly disappointing. First, although the reservation clearly indicated three guests, the room was consistently stocked with sheets, towels, and other amenities for only one or two people. Second, the $40 daily parking fee was excessive for a hotel of this category in Brookline. The parking lot was nearly empty every day, and after experiencing the hotel, I can understand why.
What disappointed me most was the lack of professionalism and hospitality from the staff. Better training, customer service skills, and attention to detail are badly needed. These shortcomings made the hotel feel more like a two-star property than the quality experience I was expecting.
Overall, this stay fell far short of my expectations. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be returning.

If you want to feel like you’re in a sauna and/or do hot yoga in your hotel room, this is the place for you!

You walk in and get hit with a blast of heat. The thermostat says it is set to 68°F (20°C), but the room is at 88°F (31°C). It doesn’t work at all. It’s basically wall art.

You go to the front desk and are told maintenance will fix it. You go back, wait in the heat, and nothing changes. So you head back down and ask to switch rooms. Expect some eye rolls, but you’ll get moved.

The second room is “better,” around 75°F (24°C), but still uncomfortable. At that point you’re tired and stop pushing.

For the rest of the stay, the temperature ignores whatever you set. It drifts between the mid‑70s and high‑80s. On the final night, it jumps back to 88–90°F. You report it early. The solution is a fan with two broken legs that falls over when you turn it on.

Calls to the front desk don’t lead anywhere.

Checkout is a quick “sorry” and that’s it. No follow-up. No manager available when you ask to speak to one.

Nice neighbourhood. The room itself was not. But if you’ve never seen it before and you’re looking to see what a deer in the headlights looks like, just go to the front desk and ask a question. For about 5% of the cost of a 5 night stay at this hotel you could go buy a tent or find an old cardboard box and sleep in a park and be more comfortable, and might even get to interact with a turkey or adorable bunny.

The bathroom was quite small with the lowest toilet I have ever experienced in my life -- sitting on it I was slightly below my knee level, and I am only 5 ft 4 inches! Other than that it was a great place to stay, with a T-stop literally right across the street for easy transportation access. Would consider staying there again.

Staff were good. The breakfast did not have consistent options for protein. We stayed in three different rooms and the cleanliness was good, the maintenance could use some help. In the bunk room, the sliding door on the bathroom was off track and the door could not be locked or closed solidly when using the bathroom. In our double queen roon the towel rack was falling from the wall and the bottom rail fell off.

Overall, I would stay here again. Very good location. Super walkable, the subway stops right across the street and tons of places in a walkable distance. The only downside was how thin the walls were. You could hear anytime someone turned the shower on, you could hear talking, you could hear every time the person next door opened their door and it sounds like someone’s trying to get into you room because of how close it sounds. Also our tv was kind of glitchy but that wasn’t a big deal as we were out most of the time we visited. Also they charge a $350 fee when you check in that goes back on your card after checkout. Would’ve liked to know that beforehand but it did go back on my card so it’s fine. We didn’t use most of the amenities but they did seem very convenient.

The Arcadian Hotel was very quite and clean. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the location and it was nice being able to use the train to get downtown and to the baseball game.

The “air” was set to 77 and could not be adjusted by the guests. When the front desk was asked about it they “lowered” it to 75! 75 during a weekend when daily highs were well in the 80s! Inexcusable. Penny pinching on air conditioning while leaving the guests uncomfortable. Great customer relations - kudos

It's a poorly run dormitory. No drawers in any rooms. Room cleaning-\"oops forgot to put soap in the room and hotel out of stock for shampoo \". Air conditioner not working and not fixed after being told it would be so we had to move at 10pm
when we returned to the hotel to a still broken A/C. Basically it was a nightmare.
Never stay there!!!

The front desk staff were disorganized, slow, and couldn't answer basic questions. The included continental breakfast is so bad (stale bread and over cooked dry eggs) that we decided to just go out and buy breakfast each morning. The rooms were small and didn't have windows to the outside, so no light in the room. The plumbing is set up so you hear every time your neighbor uses the bathroom next door....at all hours of the night. The TV was broken and only worked about 50% of the time. In the fitness center, neither of the spin bikes worked, one of the treadmills was broken, and the TVs did not work. Oh, and they sold us a coffee drink that had chunky curdled milk in it. Gross. I would NEVER stay here again.

This was our 4th time staying at the Arcadian. The location is great and the rates reasonable. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned on this last visit wasn't clean. Bedding, a playpen, and a dirty diaper were all in the room. We were quickly assigned a new room, but disappointed nonetheless.

We really liked our stay at the Arcadian. It was clean, quiet, and had super comfortable beds. The area felt safe and more on the quiet side. It’s also very close to the greenline metro stops, Kent St is closest. We used it frequently and took it to a game at Fenway. I’m glad I read carefully about the “no window” to the outside, so I wasn’t caught off guard. There was a window to the inside of the hotel, which was great. We didn’t miss having an outside window at all. The only reason I gave amenities 4 stars was our “tiny toilet”. It was so close to the ground, like 18-24”! It was a squatty potty! There was a handle to help you get up and down. It was fine for us, but could be a problem and could definitely catch some older residents off guard. Otherwise we were super happy with our stay!! I would highly recommend this hotel in Boston!

Unfortunately, I was put in one of the \"dark\" rooms without a window except for one that looked out over the breakfast area. I think that should be noted when selecting a room. Also, this sounds a little crazy but the toilet seat was so low that it seemed as if it was for a child. Very uncomfortable. Otherwise, the room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. But the air conditioning was making a whining noise every time it would come on and woke me up. Breakfast was fine and free which was nice. Over all, I would stay here again but be certain that I got a \"normal\" room.

This hotel is very convenient right off the T Train / subway. It is a quick ride tonFwnway Park and I thought I would hear some noise, but we faced the street with the T and did not hear it! I am a light sleeper. Overall, the hotel was good, it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodatimg. We stayed here two different times during our extended vacation. Both of the rooms had a few maintenance needs, but nothing that would affect our stay. For example the one hotel had a crack in the sink that was more cosmetic since it wasn't leaking. The first room had some cosmetic issues in the shower. Things that should be fixed to make this hotel feel more upscale.

We recently returned from a weekend stay at the Arcadian and found the accommodations to be perfect for us. The staff was friendly and the quick grab-and-go breakfast was just enough to start our day. Location was the best part about the hotel as it’s within easy walking distance to just about everything we did and had a train stop right across the street. Great stay! Will book again!

Staff and general accommodations were fine, but there were disappointing aspects of the amenities that just seemed to reflect highly budget wise management. For example, very small bath towels, no dressers in rooms, no lamp table next to chair in room despite ample space, no plastic laundry bag in room, limited hangers in room, no microwave in room (only 1 in lobby), no bottled water - for 3 days - in lobby, limited supply and variety of continental bfast items, etc…did find a cob web in room as well but not going to over-react there. Just seemed like they wanted to get by with the very minimum. And for the price, that’s not ok. I will not be back unless given no reasonable alternative.

I was originally a little concerned after seeing some bad reviews, however, I had nothing but a great experience at the Arcadian Hotel. We stayed at the Arcadian for our trip to Fenway Park. It was in a great location. Fenway Park was about a mile (20 minute) walk from the hotel. The T line was right across the street, which could take you to Fenway, but also anywhere else in the city. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very clean. We didn’t have any issues with the temperature control of our room, which I saw a lot of reviews about. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we were out of something, we called down to the front desk and someone brought it to our room shortly after we called. We also made a mistake when checking out and paying for parking and we ended up getting charged twice. I called when I got home from our trip and spoke to someone. The next day we received a call saying that the issue was fixed and the second charge was taken off our card. I appreciated the staff being so helpful, even when it was clearly our mistake. The only downside of the hotel is the $30 daily fee for the hotel breakfast, which consists of bagels and pastries. I don’t think it amounts to the $30 charge, but I wouldn’t say that would be a deterrent from staying at the hotel. Overall, we had a great experience at the Arcadian. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I personally would stay there again.

I reserved a Tower King for the May graduation in early October through Expedia for me and my wife. The room showed in pictures that it had a sofa. Right before my trip, I found out my graduating daughter did not have accommodations for after our arrival, so I called Expedia and the hotel to be sure I could have a third person on the couch and they said there was no couch and the advertised photo was of another room even though they admitted it was false advertising. I had to switch to the only available room with two sets of bunk beds.
This room had no usable closet other than some hooks. It had one chair and it appeared that the lower bunk beds were used to sit on since the mattress was so caved in that it made you roll out of bed. The one ceiling light that did not light the whole room and there were no reading lights at the 4 beds.
The coffee was not replenished many of the 5 days we were there. The bathroom only had a small 1/2 oz tube of body wash and it was never replaced. There was initially no spare toilet paper roll to replace the 3/4 roll in the bathroom that ran out. The day after graduation we slept in and put the Quiet sign on the door. We left before noon and when returning that night we found our room was not cleaned. I had to ask the front desk to get someone to at least empty the full garbage cans and bring towels so we could shower the next day, and they did. The included breakfast was only coffee, toast, bagels, and cereal until they ran out each day.

The staff was lovely, Javier and Jasmine in particular, but this hotel was far below par and a genuine disappointment. Trust the bad reviews. Not particularly clean, outdated, with non-functioning AC and unsatisfactory breakfast. Paid way too much, the only upside was the proximity to the C line. Would not stay again, and I regret not checking out and trying to get a refund.

I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to other travelers. I’ll plan to return on my next trip to Boston. The location is excellent, and the property is clean, beautifully designed, and generally smells wonderful throughout—though the lower level had a noticeable sewer or backed-up pipe odor. Overall, the décor is stylish, and the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
Breakfast was decent, but timing matters—if you don’t go right when it opens, the selection can be limited.
A couple of things to note: the check-in entrance is tight, with heavy traffic that can make arrival and parking a bit stressful. Also, take extra care when exiting via the side driveway—it runs very close to a curb that’s easy to miss.

The stay was horrible. The hotel had a terrible breakfast which was highlighted as one of their plus. No eggs, bagels were not fresh and the coffee water downed. The housekeeper did not take the garbage and the coffee in the room not replenished. No water bottles for sale because
“our vendor has a water shortage.” Won’t be back again.

We have stayed here a couple of times while visiting family in Brookline. The best thing is the location; very close to Coolidge Corner and lots of shops and restaurants. It's also super convenient that there is a Green line stop right out front so very easy access into Boston.
The property itself has some pluses and minus. The pluses are a bar downstairs and a huge lobby area with lots of seating options. We played games in the lobby several nights with friends.
The minuses- the breakfasts, while convenient, are only bread products during the week (bagels, muffins, cereal and toast) and on the weekend, they add hard boiled eggs. It's just not much but I guess it is something. The two available toasters were barely hanging on and did not toast anything at all. The stairwell always had a musty, moldy smell to it. We like to use the stairs vs elevators but they definitely need some deep cleaning. The rooms are adequate although we had no soap at all and had to ask for some.
Overall, an adequate hotel that is saved by the incredible location.

We had originally reserved a king sized \"view\" room. We arrived early on the day of check in with the intent of just leaving our bags and then coming back to check in later. The manager at the desk offered that we could check in now but we would need to check into a room \"without a view,\" but that it also had a king size bed. We thought that a room \"without a view\" meant, we didn't have the greatest view. We just dropped off our luggage quickly without really looking at our room. When we came back later that evening, it turns out that our room only had a queen sized bed, and the room was in their \"townhouse\" section which meant that the rooms did not have a view to the outside. The rooms are literally in the center of the hotel with a window to the hallway with no natural light. The room felt claustrophobic.

Staff was great, very very clean! Loved all the seating in the bar and eating areas. Great gathering spaces! Breakfast was a little disappointing because some days there was nothing left by 8-8:30am. I think if you are 100% sold out for the weekend then maybe you should have enough food for all your guests.
Cons are there only being one elevator which made wait times long! The other complaint I have is regarding the lighting in the rooms! All very dark and “moody” which is a cool vibe but not conducive to applying makeup or really anything that requires light!

Checkin was easy, room was clean. Breakfast was a little lacking but nice to have coffee, tea, and water always available in the lobby. Rooms are really dark with not much light. Great location

This hotel is very good - pleasant and helpful staff!
Decent breakfast.
I upgraded from the cheapest room, which does not have a window, to very nice room with view to the street.
During the day, there was constantly coffee to fetch at the coffee bar.

But most importantly - the staff was so nice and helpful!

So I will definitely return to this hotel, I will need accommodation in the area.

Me and my friend needed a place to stay close to Fenway at a modest price. This hotel was very modern and overall aesthetic and cleanliness was decent. However I was dissapointed with the lack of variety when it comes to complimentary breakfast. Only offering breads and pastries that were not fresh. In addition, the hotel's tv will not work for casting any streaming services from your mobile device even though the tvs will advertise that they are capable of doing so. Finally the bathrooms would have been better with having a lock on the handle for privacy. Overall the hotel was a decent stay but there seemed to be more to be desired after staying.

WHATEVER WAS THERE HAD A VERY LOW QUALITY.

Great location! T stop right there, but area also very walkable as well. Fun stores and restaurants in walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. (Toilet was very low to ground - could be hard for some people). Staff was always cleaning and front desk very helpful. Breakfast was decent.

Location was convenient to Fenway for walking, or downtown via short car ride. Even though the windows were facing the hallway, rooms still felt pretty private. The breakfast was only good for tiding you over to lunch. What I will say was disappointing was I booked for 3 nights and I received one shampoo and conditioner. When I asked about hand soap and body wash, I was told by staff they had ran out. It was the same thing for the entirety of my stay. Definitely a gross oversight on part of their management. For what I paid, I find that ridiculous. Find an alternative source for your guests. Not everyone brings travel size items.
