Extremely dated. No elevator. Balcony is shared across all rooms so if opening drapes to enjoy the gorgeous view could be treated to a visitor. Balcony railing rotted through.

We booked this because so many posts about it having a great view for the price. Unfortunately, we thought we were getting a room with the great view it showed in the pictures, but in reality, because of the room type we booked - kitchenette - we got a room on the lowest floor. The view was still good but the balcony is smaller so doesn’t allow space for sitting on it. The good news is we ended up being there for only one sunset, and we can easily transport our luggage from the patio down down the outside stairs to our car - parking was between our room and the lake. The place is dated but rooms are large and we were able to dry our clothes we washed in the sink using the hai dryer and finishing with towel warmer while out and about. Washer and dryer very close to our room also. There is supposed to be a key fob to let you between 8p and 8a but the door was always unlocked during our 3 night stay. We accidentally left a window on our car open one night and had no problems. Very safe and convenient to get downtown via walk (one steeper hill) or drive. Could also do bus but we didn’t do that.

This was our third stay so that says everything. Yes, some things are a little dated but our room was spacious with everything we could possibly need including a really comfortable bed. But the main asset is the view from the balcony which is absolutely magnificent. We also love the walk down to Queenstown Gardens and then into town. Great choice if comfort and scenery are more important than fancy frills.

Our host Vicki and her team were delightful and very helpful. After checking in, Vicki grabbed an umbrella as it was raining and walked with me back to the car to help us get our luggage.

And the best bit.. the view from our room across the lake was magnificent, and all could be taken in from our balcony with outdoor setting or through the big window in our room if we wanted to stay inside.
I would love to stay there again and highly recommend Earnslaw Lodge to anyone visiting Queenstown.

It was outstanding and our hosts Vicki and Steve were always accommodating when needed.Due to an unforeseen circumstance we had to come to Queenstown 3 days before the actual reservation time. We had booked a courtyard suite however because we were spending the extra time they upgraded us to lake/mountain view suite. We never asked for a change.They were so nice to suggest it. A perfect view, a perfect location to walk downtown and access buses and a suite that was large the Earnslaw Lodge is a perfect place to stay at when visiting Queenstown.

I would not recommend this property. Bed was lumpy. Access to the unit from parking was difficuilt despite being on lower level. T V operation was a mystery. Manager had no idea of how to make TV work. There was no radio. Price was far too high for what one got. Just a bad experience.

This is a decent hotel, and an amazing location, see attached picture. Everything was great. My only complaint was the shower, which has a very small showerhead and water temperature tended to fluctuate a bit. Other than that everything was good. Be sure to ask for a room with a Lakeview, it is absolutely spectacular.

The lodge is family run and the staff are very friendly. The views are unparalleled. However the rooms are tired, and the bathrooms in particular depended on a \"knack\" to use them depending on what room you were in - in one there was no hot water except at a certain point (which wasn't indicated) and in another the spout needed to be turned up to the roof to turn it off. They were minor but there!

Sadly lacking love. Bathroom needs a complete refurb. Water coming out on floor, lots of little issues to be honest. We have stayed there a few times before and standards have slipped. On a positive note, amazing view and easily walkable to the main street. Could be a beautiful place if it had a little bit of love. Sorry x
