The amenities were great. The tourist information desk was also convenient. Maybe it was just the dorm I stayed in, but wish the outlet plugs were closer to the bed instead of across the room without any shelving to place the electronics while charging.

Not their fault, the central location is just in the heart of the all night club zone. But if you need to sleep, think about staying somewhere a little more out of the action.

Not really what we class as a hotel room, no chairs to sit on, no counter space in the bathroom, no suitcase stand. Was close to the action, but horrendously loud at night, hence the complimentary ear plugs, not sufficient to drown out the noise until 2:am. Would not stay there again.

Fantastic location with street parking in front of hotel. This is more of a hostel/backpacker hotel. Can be loud at night due to bars/clubs across the street and behind the building. Only like a minute walk to the lake and maybe 5 minutes walk to the main street. Price is good and has a central kitchen if you like to cook your own meals (can be crowded at times)

Can’t beat the location.

Stayed in one of the private rooms with an ensuite bathroom. The best location, right in the heart of Queenstown a few steps from the lake. Fairly clean. As others have mentioned, it can get loud in the evenings, but they do give you ear plugs, just in case you need them. Tour bookings on site, which make it really convenient.

I was impressed with my king bed with own Bathroom. The room was spacious and clean except for when house keeping overlooked the please tidy my room sign on my door when l was out on a day trip. Nomads is in central Queenstown and l perfectly located fo the attractions and town nightlife.. tours can be arranged on sight. The room could do with a clock as it has no windows so it's hard to know what time of day it is. Other than that l can highly recommend staying at Nomads

It's an older, well used property. Basic amenities. We didn't take advantage of the kitchen facility but looked like the young adults were getting good use out of it. Good value considering how popular the area is. We loved our small balcony.

Night club plays super loud music until about 3 am every night. Even on the top floor the sound level is way too high to really fall deeply asleep. They provide earplugs in your room which is a foreshadowing of the night to come.

The location is very good. I booked a room that from the description, could either have one bed, or, as I was after, 2 beds. As it turned out, my first three nights were in a one-bed room but then a subsequent night (a few days later) after booking the same room type, I got the 2 bed room I really wanted. When I booked, I looked for opportunities to specify that having two beds was important to me, but no option existed. I think that there could be more clarity in this regard.

It was clean enough for Backpackers, and staff were kind.
But there were many things in the fridge. So I couldn’t use it. And because of the neighbors (bar or restaurants), it was noisy until midnight. So I won’t recommend if you are sensitive to noise.
Anyway It was good for me.

I was impressed with how clean quiet and high tech this hostel was. I was even able to rent a towel and do many things from the app they use for all guests. It is right in the middle of everything. Great location. Staffed 24/7 made me feel safer than the ones who don't have someone watching the door at night. Would love to return to this one someday!

For a backpacker hotel, it was brilliant . I had one night during NY , so this was all I could get. I asked for a Female only room and they catered for this perfectly. Secure, Private and with its own bathroom. It was a few days after NY, so it was VERY NOISY at night, but what can you expect ..it right in the heart of Queenstown

Reasonable deal in an expensive town

I don't enjoy staying in Queenstown because everything is so expensive, but the en-suite rooms at Nomad's Backpackers are a reasonable price for the area, and provide you with your own private bath, a balcony, and a mini-fridge. What they don't provide you though is hand towels, soap, or shampoo ... There is a soap dispenser, but we stayed in two different rooms a week apart, and neither of the dispensers had any soap. So bring your own.

Jared at the front desk is awesome. I only wish that there was a hallway light into my room.

I booked a double, thinking that I had full bath access. The baths are shared.

I love that they offer cooking class as well as you get a free dinner. I'm not sure when they cook for the free dinner but when I checked in I was told that there was going to be complementary Indian food in the kitchen if I wanted some. The theme does change.

You use an app to unlock your door. Unfortunately the app keeps messing up and for some reason it takes about 15 tries for my door to open

There is a sona, it is usually occupied and I think it only seats two people. When I went up it was occupied by two gentlemen, so it was a tight fit for two people.

There is also a backyard terrace.

Parking can be a little tricky. I parked on the street in front of the hostel, and got lucky both times.

They have some pretty cool stickers I purchase.

Super convenient location to downtown Queenstown. Literally a 6 minute walk

Bad: depending on room you get very noisy music for half the night making it near impossible to sleep. In my room the fridge was also so frozen up that the door wouldnt close. Couldn’t open room curtains as it was directly opposite an office window and if you opened the window you are staring straight at officeworkers about 3 metres away

Thank goodness I was only staying for 3 nights. I understand it’s a hostel, but it’s impossible to sleep. For 3 nights in a row, either the hostel itself or a bar right next door was blasting music until 3 AM in the morning; I literally laid in bed from 10 PM to 2 AM one night trying to fall asleep. Need to soundproof the doors more/be more considerate of guests who aren’t staying in Queenstown just to drink and party. If I came to Queenstown again, I’d rather pay 3x the amount and get a hotel. Room itself was ok. Shower door doesn’t seal, so it constantly flooded the bathroom and left a mildew smell.

Upon arriving the lobby area looks quite inviting. It has couches to relax while you wait to check-in. Like every accomodation there are good things, and things that can be improved on. Free complimentary wi-fi was a very useful incentive, as was the nice interiors and room, and it was always warm inside.

However, the things I'd critique would be that the pillows were too thin, there was no powerpoints near the beds in the shared 8 person dorms, and the towel surcharge.

Other than that, it was affordable and serves a purpose for a short stay. The location is perfect and I wouldn't rule out staying in the future.

This is fantastic, a location close to everything and the staff are brilliant and helpful. It's atmosphere is cozy and warm, everyone is friendly. It really is a brilliant place to stay. Highly recommended, you can go on your own and be playing piano, or sitting on the couches, it's spacious. The kitchens large, with plenty of space, large tables to eat on, and it's clean. The balcony over looks the nice bars.. it's great for a trip to Queenstown without paying the big bucks.

Easy check in process. Room was very cold when we arrived and we had to go to reception to get them to turn on the heat pump power.
The bed was very comfy and we slept well considering we were surrounded by bars.
One negative was that there were no towels in the room.

Cons: filthy place. Kitchen dirty floors tables. Bathrooms absolutly discusting smell of sewage. Water leaking all on floor and out the door.
Very noisy crowd no sleep hear.
Douna cover smelt terrible, not changed for weeks prob.
Would never stay here. Its the worst ever place.

Great location. 2-10 minutes walking distance to most places of interest. very helpful staff and clean.

Only negative side is that it is next to restaurants who turn into clubs at night. The sliding doors are not soundproof so you will here the booms of the music until abouts 1-2 am. Not the best if you have early morning activities. But other than that, nothing but positives.

Clean room with beautiful mountain views. Cool rooftop bar restaurant. The service was great but Marianne from Montreal at the activities counter was so wonderful!! She made it so easy to book our skydiving experience and not only was informative but very honest so there was no room for surprise costs.
