I was never able to stay at the Residence Inn & Suites because they were overbooked when I arrived. I was sent to the SpringHill Suites on Ware Road and ended up being charged an additional $100 per night, which created financial hardship for me and my family. This was especially difficult because we were in town for my nephew’s wedding, and the last-minute change forced us to alter our plans.

Front desk Robert clerk was rude and pathetic we reserved a room and Robert said the room was taken by Fanny G. we had never check in and Robert wanted to charge us for a another room I told my wife call the police dept this is fraud after all the fighting and police officers showing up they gave us a room. When u give a room out u need to ask for ID it looks like they gave away a room without asking for ID. It was very sad and pathetic when Robert said its not my problem,

Great amenities, H-E-B in walking distance. A little out in the open , not so private. Also parking space is very small and out in the open as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are 6/7 . Stove, sink, silverware and dishes are available which is a plus for families.

We use this motel as our monthly visit to McAllen, and have no complaints or we would go somewhere else.

One main reason is that it is NO SMOKING and a lot of
the other locations have smoking in parts of their building.

This was probably tbe loudest hotel i've ever stayed at. It was conveniently located next to an HEB and relatively close to an interview I was in town for however the room smelled foul and was outdated. The room above me sounded like they were running a marathon ALL NIGHT. I wouldnt stay there again.

Amazing time here

It was amazing like always. My family and I always book it in this place. Love that HEB is in the same parking lot and this hotel has a full kitchenette. We save money buying and preparing our own meals. It is clean and very up to date on furniture in the rooms. It has a basketball and volleyball net for the kids and ofcourse a pool. Everyone there is friendly and make you feel comfortable. My kids love it..

Hotel is within 5-10 minutes walking distance of HEB, a major supermarket, and several fast food restaurants. With your hotel rate, you get a cold & hot buffet style breakfast that consists of eggs, potatoes, cereal muffins, and breads. Rooms are clean and include a small kitchen with a microwave oven and stove top. My wife and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Our five star stay.

We had an amazing stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott McAllen. The staff was nice and friendly. Our Our two bedroom suite was spotless, spacious, quite and came with comfy beds and a full kitchen. The complimentary hot breakfast was top notch and very much appreciated. We also enjoyed the complimentary cheese and wine/beers mix event on Monday evening as well. it's in a very nice and safe location with HEB just a few steps away. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to all our family and friends.

Overall this was a great hotel to stay at. The only thing that gave us a bad experience was that we were having a business meeting with four other people and it extended until late evening. The night employee kicked us out and we were not being loud nor drinking, just having a meeting. He was very rude! Started arranging furniture rudely around us so we would leave. This is the first time ever we learn people are not allowed in a hotel lobby after hours. No hours are posted. Besides him and what he did, the hotel was great.

I'm in McAllen monthly on business, and this is one of the most comfortable hotels in town. The room was clean, temperature was perfect, wifi works great, bed was comfortable, and bathroom supplies are great. It's a little tricky to figure out on google maps, but as long as you see the newly renovated HEB you will find the hotel. Major plus-I loved the fact that I could fill up on gas right there in the HEB parking lot before hitting the road in the morning.

Remodel needed

There are now light signs at night to find the only driveway into the hotel. There is construction going on that impedes you getting into the parking lot and parking. Parking lot is dark at night and the lot is dirty. The hotel room furniture is old vinyl that is peeling and cracking. The couch and tables are worn down looking. Carpeting was old and stained. The stove burners were rusty and dirty. The bathroom was clean, sinks and refrigerator were clean. The swimming pool was dirty my entire stay due to the dirt from the construction site next door. That is to bad, because that os why I booked this hotel. I really wanted to go swimming while on my trip.

The food they served for breafast and social hour was good. The staff were nice, but when you told them about and issue, they really didn't seem to care too much. Just a, \"Sorry\" and then they blew it off. But what really ruined my stay was that the cleaning staff left my hotel room unlooked with the door ajar after they cleaned the room. It was left unlooked and open for hours.

The interior decor to our room and the interior of the hotel are outdated, the couches were worn out. We had a difficult time finding the hotel when we arrived at night because the exterior signs were not lit up. Most of the parking lot lights were not on. The night clerk was not aware of the lack of lighting and the exterior lights were not on during the three nights we stayed there. It was unusual that a room message indicated there would be minimal staff on duty due to the 4th of July holiday. I've worked at hotels and that weekend should be when service by staff is most critical.The room was comfortable, the staff was helpful, the amenities were good.

It was an okay stay. We did not like not being able to speak to the workers because most of them spoke Spanish and no English. The Breakfast was very very good. We had to ask twice to get our air conditioner fixed. The furniture is very dated but the rooms were very clean. The dishwasher didn't work at all. Did the dished twice with it and still did them by hand. We would stay again.

I moved to San Antonio but still have family and friends back in McAllen. I truly enjoyed my stay in our room. It was like having our own little apartment. Although we didn't spend a lot of time there since we were out visiting a lot of my friends, we really enjoyed the quietness and coziness of the room. I will be going back in a few months and will definitely look into staying here as out stay may be a little more extended this time around.

I am a hotel snob and this hotel was a huge surprise!! The owners take great pride and it is obvious. The place was spotless, roomy, nicely appointed, the kitchen even had stainless steel pots and pans, a good selection of utensils and even glass tupperware!! Usually the kitchen is nasty and useless but not here!! The pool area was really nice and the hot tub was hot and clean. We even used the gas BBQ. I will always stay here when in McAllen. The price was totally right. We did not try their breakfast because we cooked our own!!

Home for the night

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, it was very cozy. The beds and even the pull out couch were comfy to sleep in. We slept even better than what we do at home. Our stay was just for a night to be able to be closer to the downtown (Saturday night) scene. Would definitely recommend to friends and stay again!

We had to come drop a family member off in McAllen, we stayed here after the 7 hour car ride. Hotel staff was fast, quick and very nice. The hotel room was very large And very clean. Loved all that the hotel came with, full kitchen and full size fridge. Breakfast was ok, could be better. We will stay here again.

Home-style comfort and convenience in McAllen

Overall, a very pleasing experience. The hotel shows its age in some areas. This was most obvious in the bath/toilet area. It was quite cold when I was there and one of the heater units next to the side entry was out of order, making entry/stair area quite chilly. However, appreciated very responsive temp. control in the suite which was clean and comfortable.. Little kitchenette was spotless and nice with granite countertops. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast, evening social foods were good, especially the oatmeal with custom toppings choices. Front desk staff are professional and friendly- great experience with Edgar and Vanessa.

the room was rundown. The chair in the room was very beat up. The kitchen did not look like it had been cleaned in a while. Could use a real good cleaning everywhere. The hotel was not easy to get to. Housekeeping did not come until 5 or 6 pm each day. We have stayed at Marriott Residence Inn in various cities that is why we chose this hotel. This one was disappointing.

Good for business trip, difficult to get there.

Overall, the hotel has everithing for a comfortable business trip like free wifi,, working desks in the rooms and good location.

The only thing is that is hard to find the hotel when you use the GPS because it leads you to another hotel that is right next too the Residence Inn and it is difficult to see the hotel brand from the street.

The hotel is centrally located with easy access to all areas of the Rio Grande Valley. There is not really any restaurants within walking distance, but the rooms have a full size frig, cook top, microwave, but no oven. Large rooms with sitting area and nice size bathroom. We will be staying again very soon on the next business trip to McAllen.

The room at this property are the smallest of any Residence Inn I ever stayed at. It is more like a very small suite. The bedroom barely has enough room to walk around the bed. The livingroom furniture looks 20 years old, the only arm chair is so used up that they put vinyl parches on the armrests, defenitly not up to Marriott standards.The bathroom had a lot of mildew in the tile grout, looks and smells bad. Because of a delayed flight I requested a late check out and was told that after 1 PM I had to pay for another half day, making hanging out at the airport the only choice.
