When I arrived and checked in, the restroom trash from the room I checked into was still there. It had feminine products from whomever stayed there before me. I told the staff and no one, no manager nor cleaning personnel came to my room. I was not even offered to change into a new clean room, for that reason, I will not be staying there ever again.

Room was excellent and staff was really friendly! Only downside to me was the breakfast buffet. This was surprising to me because of all the positive comments I read about the breakfast buffet. The breakfast was one of my main reasons for selecting this hotel. What were my issues with the buffet? One, no bacon, waffles, or pancakes. Paper plates were flimsy. Eggs selection was plain or with ham only. I know this one may be weird for some but I like to serve myself instead of being served. When I chose a dish, I was served a small amount. I then had to ask for more which made me feel like the pig I am. lol. I didn't have breakfast the second day there because of this and will probably choose one that has a hot breakfast that includes bacon, waffles, and pancakes.

I had a confirmed reservation for a prepaid room which they said never happened on their end and it took 2 hours and 20 minutes of lots of phone calls, failed Expedia virtual credit cards , suggestions from the hotel that I would have to be relocated despite the fact that they had plenty of rooms and lots of business through Expedia. The room was fine once I got it and if I hadn't lost so much time in the lobby, I might even be able to talk about the amenities. I do hope you post this review so I don't have the need to disparage them through other channels since their major problem was not being able to work with Expedia

Once you get past the plastic utensils, and the Styrofoam plates, the breakfast was decent the choices were relatively typical of what you have at most breakfast offerings. There was a foul odor in the room, There was a slight inconvenience of only one functioning elevator. The Hotel had no restaurant or bar available during the day or evening.

Courteous staff, great location, good breakfast and room. My complaint is they have a very expensive pet fee. Many hotels don´t have a fee for pets or they go 50-100. In this case is 150 Dollars for a small pet who sleeps in it´s own small bed and is trained to go outside to poop and pee.

We were given a room with dirty sheets, so they moved us to another room that smelled musty, and some of the room's accessories had stains, possibly from dampness. The rooms in the app aren't the same; they have carpeted floors, but the app shows them without carpeting. They look nicer in the app. I requested a change, and they told me there were only a few like that and that none were available anymore. They also told me breakfast was from 6 to 10 am, but when I arrived at 9 am, they were already clearing everything away because the schedule they gave me was only for weekends. I saw other people arriving after 9 am for breakfast, and there was no food left because they were putting it away.

I booked the room and when I went to the website for directions they said the hotel was permanently closed. This is after they booked my debit card for over 250 dollars. Since I was being my grave father back home I decided to book another hotel. I called the hotel again and said they were not closed but there was a new management and name change. I’m glad I called and said of course I needed a refund asap. They told me to get a hold of you and ask for a refund. So I kindly ask for you to redepisit my funds back in my accounts. Everything went well as usual!! This is my favorite hotel welhen we want to get out of our routine and we never get disappointed… at the reception Belinda was an incredible person, kind and helpful!! She’s an example of great great costumer service! I love the way she treated me when I arrived at the property starting with her smile and good manners… The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast and the people working there were amazing!! Please don’t forget to tip them! They’re all so nice and make sure you get everything you need… I definitely highly recommend Verta Hotel if I only could give it 10 stars.. 5 stars is not enough for the attention, great food and place! I’m a traveling physician. This has been my favorite hotel in McAllen for years. It has been taken over by new owners. They have complete utter disregard for the needs of their guests. The last two months at this hotel they have not had a hot water. I’ve seen people come to fix the boiler. I’ve been told that the pipes have been switched back-and-forth. All things that are very inconvenient. But the last straw is to be told that is now the policy of the hotel to provide lukewarm water for everybody as advised by their lawyers to prevent lawsuits because somebody Scalded themselves with hot water. The water is not even lukewarm. It is tepid! . Sometimes I’m told that there’s some issue that needs fixing and then other times they tell me that it’s policy of the new owners. All I can say is if you expect to have hot water in your hotel (as anybody would), you should probably find another place to stay. These people are not even apologetic about the situation and are not accommodating at all. obviously, if I knew that there was going to be no hot water as a matter of policy, I would’ve found another place to stay. Stay away !!!

Nos gustó mucho el servicio y la atención del personal, durante el Check inn y Check out el personal fue muy amable, la habitación muy limpia, cuidaron los detalles de lo que ofrecen, el restaurant es amplio por lo que no batallamos en la mañana al ir a desayunar, había mucho espacio disponible, el desayuno muy rico, tipo bufett, muy bien surtido. Nos tocó en el piso 5, ese piso aun no estaba del todo remodelado, había elegido ese hotel por que en las fotos ofrece piso tipo duela y nos tocó alfombra.

Las camas y almohadas son muy cómodas. El aire acondicionado enfría perfecto , había un frigobar en la habitación lo cual muy útil . Ahora , es un hotel ya viejo , renovaron lobby y la áreas comunes . Tenía un olor raro al entrar . La chica del check in tal vez era nueva porque pagué lala estancia con mi tarjeta y no me pudo decir cuánto me había cobrado . Ni darme un recibo de mi pago . Le pedí que llamara a algún gerente para ver eso y me dijo que NO había nadie que pudiera resolver . Abrí mi app del banco y vi que me habían cobrado más de la tarifa que Hoteles.com me había confirmado . Teníamos buenas expectativas del desayuno pero la verdad es que es bastante básico y usan desechables para servir . Lo mejor es la ubicación , frente al mall y cerca de muchos restaurantes y tiendas.
