not worth the price vs other hotels in the area

The hotel was ok but was under construction. I booked for two nights but left on the second day because a tropical storm was hitting the area. They would not comp me for the night. The shower I couldn't make work because I wasn't pulling hard enough on some weird extra knob. I guess I was afraid of pulling it out of the wall. The maintenance man came in and almost had to use pliers to make it work. My biggest #1 complaint? For as expensive as the hotel was, there was no free coffee. I could have stayed in 100 places around there that was less expensive and gotten free coffee and breakfast. So next time i'm in the RGV, I will definitely stay somewhere else.

The service and room were good. The bed was great and slept like a baby. The property is over 20 years old and it's starting to show. Continental breakfast a bare minimum for the price we paid. The Staybridge next door is newer and may try that next time.

The property was nice and so were the rooms. There is a nice pool and courtyard area and lots of parking. There is a golf course and a bird sanctuary across the street and and a shopping center adjacent. The staff was very accommodating to my travel plan changes.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and we asked about checking in so they gave us a room. Unfortunately the room had a smell of cigarettes and when I mentioned it to the reception attendant she offered to give us a new room. The new room was very clean and it did not have any kind of smells. Very thankful for the staff members as well. They were courteous and very helpful.

The staff is very courteous. However as a Marriott member, we would have expected some special consideration on the room requested.
The very disappointing reasons for this particular stay is the fact that the room wasn't what i requested, the TV wasn't working, the sink was clogged very bad and there was no offer to clean or make up the room.

The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, light bulbs were burned out in 2 lamps, the display on the thermostat was not working and the shampoo and conditioner had not been replaced. There was 2 drops in each. The coffee station only had 1 cup. The bed sunk to the middle and the king room was tiny. 2 days prior I had stayed in a Courtyard by Marriott in Sugarland and it was pristine. The remote control was in a sanitized bag, but this was not the case in McAllen. Made me question if the room had been properly cleaned and sanitized. I would never stay there again.

Literally the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Every aspect of the hotel was terrible, from the dirty showers, a dirty towel, an outdated mattress and stained sheets. The water had a foul smell and I got rash on my arm. Will never come to this hotel again. I will advise all of friends to never stay here as well.

The property is at a great location, you can easily walk to several restaurants including a shopping mall. Check in was very courteous and upgraded me because Expedia has their description wrong for the room and didn’t want to accept responsibility leaving me with the only option to cancel on a non-refundable booking. Hotel made it right and upgraded me on their end and for that I’m so great full as that was the primary reason I chose my room & hotel. I would definitely give this hotel more stars unlike Expedia’s customer service.

We liked the convenient location, the happy hour snacks and free drink. Your staff was very helpful. Only things in need of improvement are the fit and finish of tile on the bathroom floor caulking and grout was sloppy. It would also be nice to have a morning continental breakfast.

Great for shopping travelers

We love to stay there when we travel for shopping to McAllen.
Recently refurbished is a very clean and comfortable hotel.

Overall it’s a decent hotel but this time the pool and hot tub were dirty with lots of leaves. My room didn’t have a blow dryer, the phone in my room was missing buttons so I couldn’t call the lobby with it. I used my cell which is no problem. When I arrived to my room it appeared some one had used the restroom recently because there was toilet paper in the toilet that hadn’t been flushed.
I’ll still stay again but they need to focus on minor details

Change of price

I booked through Expedia expecting to pay the price I was given but when I got to the hotel I was charged the same price as anyone else. Which was like a $30 difference. According to the hotel that was going to change once it posted on to my account but they lied.

The water from the shower was more warm than hot. The metal drain guard thing was annoying due to the sound it made when the shower was on. The bed was comfy but the blanket too thin and no extra blanket available.

I had a very enjoyable stay. I only have two complaints, the room u stayed in had a toilet in which the water never stopped running and I slipped three times in the shower. Thankfully I caught myself before falling, otherwise a pleasant nights stay.
