Stayed 4 nights, did only clean room once. No spare toilet paper in the room. Had to find spare once in the common bathroom downstairs after hours.
Room right above a lounge/cafe with a birthday on Saturday night. Loud music all night, impossible to sleep and no service onsite

This hotel claimed they had parking, but they did not. They send you a message that says you have to reserve parking in advance, but when you ask to reserve it, they say they can’t. When you get there, there is no parking lot. You park on the street if you can find a spot.

I did enjoy my stay very much. The shower was excellent which was very important when coming in from the cold. The receptionists were very cordial and helpful. One of them made an extra effort to help me locate a money exchange station. I was thankful for her help during my stay.

The Hotel smelled of smoke even in the rooms, it was a little tired the pillows were useless and there were stains on the sofa. not a fan of the nightclub noise either

Pleasant hotel, nice staff, bit far out

The room was more than adequate - quiet and clean. It was good value for money. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, if at times a bit unresponsive. Breakfast ( 8 €) was good, with a nice range of fresh items. Transport into the centre of Berlin is a bit of an issue, although the Metro tram M50 stops almost outside the hotel. The problem is that the trams run rather infrequently in the evenings and at weekends
( either every 20 minutes or even every 30 minutes) However, the U2 line to/from U-Station Pankow is good as it takes you directly to Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse, Potsdamer Platz and Kochstrasse
( Checkpoint Charlie). You have to reckon, for example, on 45 mins to an hour from hotel to Potsdamer Platz. The S-Bahn Station Pankow has a direct slowish, S-train to Schoenefeld Airport, which runs every 20 mins. and takes about 45 mins. So, again an hour and a quarter from hotel to airport. Staff were helpful with travellling info.

Comfortable hotel offering good value

I enjoyed my week's stay here. I chose the hotel because the cost of the room represented good value. Breakfast was an added option but at 8 euros was a substantial and good value start to the day. Reception staff were willing to offer assistance with maps and directions. A temporary disruption to the tram service meant an increased journey time to central Berlin although this was no fault of the hotel. The hotel is 4 to 5 miles from Alexanderplatz, and while its location was not problematic for myself as I have visited Berlin many times, there is little in the immediate vicinity for those interested in an active nightlife. Some snack meals could be purchased cheaply in the hotel bar, although I did not avail of these. At the prices charged I would consider returning to this hotel in the future.

Inexpensive hotel near public transport

Hotel Pankow is very reasonably priced and although a little outside the centre, it has a tramstop right in from of the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean but I did miss an electric kettle so I could make myself a cup of tea. Bathroom is very small and a bit outdated but sufficient for one person. No luxury and pillows and duvet were very much used.However I requested a cleaner pillow and was given one. the receptionists are very friendly and I was able to borrow an umbrella during some very rainy days.

Cozy hotel with convenience

The hotel has a cozy funky vibe, which for its intended purpose, it works. Its also super convenient to get onto the tram, which will take you to the main station for the S-Bahn, and from there a 15min ride to Downtown Berlin. The other convenience is that there is a supermarket across the street, where you can get your waters and whatnots.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Arriving into Germany, Johnny at the reception desk helped me with how I should get around, what ticket to buy, things to do in the general area. No complaints about the staff and how helpful they were.

Because the hotel seemed old, there was that sense of it being not as well kept, but again the hotel is well worth the price for the fact that transportation was convenient and I had most of the hotel amenities. There is a fun bar at the ground floor too.

Best deal in Berlin with good location.

Loved hotel and it's location within 15 to 20 minute ride to downtown, Alexander Platz, and Brandenburg gate on tram, S-2 and U2 trains, NO problems at all getting around city. Staff was amazingly friendly and breakfast was good, also hotel cleanliness was very good. Overall it was a great trip to Berlin.

Hotel pankow was exactly what we expected, it looks exactly like the photos, staff were pleasant, the room was clean except from the floors when walking on them lots of dust & dirt stuck to our feet I had to buy slippers for walking about the room.
The hotels location wasn't the best for us there wasn't much around us & had to get both a tram & the underground to get into the centre, which was easy enough to do.

Great Low Cost Hotel with Public Transportation

If you are looking for a low cost alternative to a hostel this is it! This hotel has reasonably priced hotel rooms and the public transportation to anywhere in the city including to Berlin Tegel is right on the front door step. A grocery store across the way that is well stocked was also very helpful to keeping costs low. Mostly Germans for business or german tourists stay here but the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good for 8 euros and they have a restaurant bar for nights. Would definitely stay her again.

The location which is a bit far from the city is great for those who wants to feel like a local and run from tourist area. Public transport is just outside the hotel and there is a supermarket opposite. I will certainly recommend this hotel!

A bit out of the way but ok if you need to be nearby.

Room ok if very basic- no kettle/tea/coffee facilities in room which we British like!

Travel a bit complicated from any of the shopping areas- several changes required using public transport- no direct bus/train or tram. Very limited later at night and not a particularly nice area.

Staff a bit noisy in the morning- a tile floor in the corridor didn't help.

Old fashioned keys- had to lock yourself in which could be a problem in an emergency.
Staff nice enough.

Good budget hotel a short ride from Berlin

Easy check in. The room was spacious enough, had two single beds, a table, a sofa, closet, TV , and phone. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and my stay was restful. The canisters of soap in the bathroom were empty for a few days but that wasn't a big problem since I had soap. The breakfast was adequate but after a few days I wished they varied the menu a little. On the last morning I was a little put off when I returned to the room to pick up my things and found the door open and someone about to change the mattresses. I think that could have waited until I checked out. They were gone in the middle of it and I found my belongings unattended while door stayed open. Other than that, I was pleased with my stay and still would use it again.

Location was really goog if you want to use public transport, stop is next to hotel. Room service and reception was good, bud woman on reception could be more kind to guests.
Only big minus is, there are no wifi in room in hotel, that is really bad. Free wifi is only in lobby and reception.

On arrival, the Polish staff were efficient but cool - which is perhaps better than a fake überwelcome. Room had phone, flatscreen tv with rotten reception for foreign channels (CNN, BBC World), bathroom with cold and eventually hot water if you ran the tap for about 90 seconds. Spotlessly clean. I left money, not much, on the bedside table while I was out and it was not touched. The bed and cover were among the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

There is a tram stop right outside. Two stops to the S-bahn and 20 minutes into the town centre. A little tedious to do more than once a day. There are apparently supermarkets within 5 minutes walking, I didn't find them. The hotel serves no meals after breakfast, which was fresh and sufficient in the German/Scandinavian style.

It's a long way from the centre but for someone who just wants a place to stay and spend the rest of the time in town, this is great.

Transport connectivity just on the door steps. 25 mins to city centre. Nothing fancy just a good place to sleep and run to the city. Still the hotel had hostel ambience in the walkway. Rooms were ok. The shower was not working properly.

Ideal if visiting friends, probably not for tourists, it's a ways out of the city Center and there's no wifi in the rooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke conversational English. Transit was right outside but without internet (city mapper) it would be challenging without speaking German. No nearby restraints either unfortunately. But hotel was very clean and updated.

Encountering real German people

If you want to see and experience real German people and their everyday life, this is it. Although there is some drawbacks here, e.g., many staffs' incompetent English skills except the manager, changing the city train twice when going to the tourist attractions in central Berlin, and a few number of places to have a meal, I found it quite amusing to stay here- I could learn some German expression to communicate with them and whenever I used some botched Deutsche expression, they always nodded and smiled; the neighborhood is so peaceful and quiet that I could focus on my work with beautiful houses around. Plus, breakfast here can beat five-star hotel's; it is just 7 euros and it is, I think, 10 euro worth (but there is no scrambled eggs).This is the third time that I have been in Berlin-first, Mitte & second, Schoneberg. Actually, I chose this hotel because the hotels in East Berlin area are so pricey and now I am very satisfied with my choice. So if you want to see Berlin in a quick mode, say, just a couple of days, this is not the place for you, or you are a party animal, the hotel Pankow will disappoint you. However, if you experience real German citizens' daily life, their smiles, and their hospitality, this hotel is there for you. Thank you, manager, receptionist Steffi and an unknown guy, night time part timer, housekeeper, etc.- they impressed me and made me happy when I stayed here.

If you are just looking for somewhere to stay the night cheap before you head out to do business close by then this is a good place to stop. If you want more then I recommend you look elsewhere. Whilst it is clean, and the rooms have all the basic needs in them, the atmosphere is more hostel than hotel minus the friendly travelers of course.

I'm normally used to staying more centrally in Berlin so the trip to the end of the U2 U-Bahn line, followed by the 15 minute tram journey took a little getting used to. That said, Pankow U-Bahn station is only 2/3 stops from some of the cooler, alternative bars I like, so it was pretty handy for a few drinks, although waiting for the night bus service on the way back was a slight pain. On arrival at 3pm I went to my room to find it unready. Not a problem for me, as I went straight out again (and on my return the room had been made up), but some tired travellers wanting to sleep might have found this inconvenient. This was the only potential issue. During my trip I lost my mobile phone and I cannot praise and thank the night receptionist enough for her help and support in trying to recover it. She was very friendly and helpful. The decor is a little 80's/90's maybe but my room was clean. The small bar was cosy and had free wi-fi. I did not opt for breakfast but it looked like a typical European affair. All in all the Hotel Pankow did it's job for the two nights I stayed there and gave me an added insight into a new suburb of Berlin.

Nice hotel with super design rooms. The comfort of the beds is too poor. The be more exact, there is no comfort in the beds. The hotel is placed perfectly in Berlin. Easy to buy a day tickets for the public transportation and take the bus to Kurfurstendamn or Brandenburger Tor and further on.

Ideal hotel for the budget traveler!

This hotel is not for everyone (especially the high maintenance traveler)! But for the price, what would one expect! It is an ideal hotel for the budget traveler. The Tram (#50) stop is right in front of the hotel and about 3 stops to S2 (Pankow-Heinersdorf) and seven stops to Friedrich Strasse. The room was clean and had a private bathroom (shower only) but be sure to take your own hand soap because none was supplied! The building was in very good shape but could use some updating, especially the floors. The bar was nice and the internet wi fi was free in the bar. Just need to create an account and follow instructions in creating the account. Breakfast was ok and was 7 Euros.

The hotel was a bit out of the center of the city, but it was located right at a tram stop, so it was easy to get to. My room was comfortable and quiet; the bed was a little soft but not so much that I had trouble sleeping. There was a hotel bar and breakfast buffet as well.

the staff was very accommodating, let us check in early, gave us a european plug to charge my computer, let us check out late, stored our bags for free, the location was pretty good, fairly easy to get into the city center in less than 15min., that being said the hotel is very close to the tram and you can hear it from the rooms, may not be the best for light sleepers, the breakfast was a little pricey for the selection, but overall it was nice. the staff is very nice and helpful.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. But the room itself wasn't really that great. It was clean and not comfortable. You could feel every spring in the bed and there wasn't any heating in the room. It was about 63 degrees in the room (17 degress Celsius) and never got warmer. When it's only 25 degrees outside (-4 Celsius) you want to come into a warm room which we did not have. The hotel also wasn't in the best of neighborhoods. I would not recommend this hotel not really worth the money saved.

Despite its claim, this hotel is not centrally located in Berlin. The price is reasonable, and for that it may deserve some consideration, but don't expect to be walking from your hotel to Brandenburg Gate. Taking a couple of different trains, one can travel from the hotel to the Berlin city center in about 30 minutes. Rooms are minimal, but basically adequate. Shower curtain was too short and floor was soaked. Be prepared for possibility that staff may not speak any English.

Das Ein- und Ausschecken ist unkompliziert, geht schnell auch bei zeitweise nicht Besetzung der Rezeption. Das Zimmer war sauber und schön warm, es waren Nachts Temperaturen um 0°C. Die Bettauflage war sehr weich und bildete deshalb beim Schlafen an vielen Stellen unangenehme Vertiefungen.

Ich war schon mehrfach Gast im Hotel Pankow. Auch diesmal wieder ein sehr schönes Zimmer und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Trotz der aktuellen Situation im Nahverkehr (Straßenbahn fährt nicht) sehr gut an den ÖPNV angebunden.

Schön das man preisgünstig mit Hund reisen kann. Das Zimmer war ganz nett eingerichtet und das Frühstück mehr als ausreichend. Für eine kurze Durchreise ist dieses Hotel sehr zu empfehlen.

We stayed there for a weekend trip and the hotel put us in a tiny room just above a “private venue room”. Party all night long, very loud and we couldn’t sleep. After 3pm you can’t reach anyone to complain. Very unfriendly men owner.
Russian background. Avoid. Worst hotel stay ever

Ein schönes Hotel - Check in bitte vereinfachen!

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel war wieder sehr schön. Ein sehr sehr schönes Zimmer, freundliches Personal, besonders die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr nett. Einladendes Frühstücksbuffet. Einzig der Check in, der ab 15:00 am Automaten erfolgen muss, sollte vereinfacht werden, bzw besser erklärt. Ich hatte einen Bestätigungscode, den man aber besser NICHT verwenden sollte, da das Prozedere dann deutlich komplizierter ist als wenn man sich mit dem Namen anmeldet. Unbedingt bereitzuhalten ist Personalausweis oder Pass. Bei der Variante mit Code benötigt man diesen auch, muss aber zusätzlich sämtliche Angaben (Ablaufdatum, Ausstellungsdatum, Ausweisnummer) eingeben. Der dann erhaltene Beleg weist die Zimmernummer aus. Die Hotelkarte ist jedoch nicht sofort einsatzbereit, man muss ca 5 Minuten warten, wie mir ein zufällig aus der Seitentür kommender Gast verriet, als ich ratlos meine Karte vor den Scanner hielt.
Da ich bislang immer an der Rezeption einchecken konnte und somit mit dem Aufenthalt von Anfang an sehr zufrieden war, begann die Zeit im Hotel Pankow dieses Mal also etwas stressig. Das sollte vereinfacht werden, am Automaten besser erklärt.

Hotellet var MEGET svært at finde.
Receptionen var ikke åben da vi ankom og man skulle i stedet tjekke ind på en skærm, som vi ikke kunne få til at virke. vi kontaktede hotellet og noget personale ankom. Hun kunne ikke tale engelsk.
Meget svært at tjekke ind, da deres IT system ikke fungerede optimalt og vi ventede længe.

Meget gammel og slidt bygning/ hotel midt i et boligkvarter ud til stor trafikeret vej og letbane.

Obwohl auf dem Buchungsformular expedia \"inbegriffen Parkplatz\" vermerkt war, stand ein Parkplatz nicht zur Verfügung - Ergebnis Knöllchen der Polizei wegen Überschreiten der Standfläche an Straßenkreuzung, obwohl diese wegen Baustelle gesperrt war, also niemand behindert wurde!
