Rooms were clean and check in was easy. Staff was very polite at check in. I really wanted to give this place a higher score but I just can't. When we got checked in and up to the room, we noticed there was no couch for seating in the room at all as shown and detailed in room description...just a bare wall where it should go. We asked about this with the staff and they had no clue why there was no couch. They made a phone call and I was then told they had a couch being delivered for that room the next day. Next day came and another staff member came to room to check on couch and said they had no idea about it and wanted to see what was going on. So we spent the few days here with only one office chair in the room for seating. Was never offered a different room with seating or any compensation at all. Overall the room was decent but I probably won't stay here again due to the whole no seating situation in the room and how it was handled..or not handled. I don't think there was any intention of getting a couch in that room while we were there as we were told. If we didn't want a seating area I could have gotten a cheaper room that didn't have it listed. Lost my future business.

I was upset because I called in advance to ask if there will be pots and pans with my kitchenette, in which they replied yes, so i went to walmart and bought a bunch of food to make a good dinner and breakfast, but when I got there there was nothing but a couple small glass bowls and utensils. I called the front desk to ask for some, and they told me they didnt have any extras to give me. So I had to spend MORE money to go out to eat. Also, looks nice in the pictures on the website, definitely not as big or nice as it looks online. Not the worst hotel ive stayed in, but I definitely won't be going back

The pull out bed was broken all week even though we told the staff 4 times but they said they put a work order in so maybe it will be fixed B4 u go there lol. The bed had trash behind it and the pull out mattress from the broken pull out sofa bed was absolutely disgusting. There was blood and hair and all kinds of stains on it but hey the view was beautiful and your right on the beach. Staff not the friendliest and the room has a lot of maintenance that needs done. The location is amazing and u can walk to all kinds of different shops.

I will never return to this establishment nor bring my family to this establishment ever again. The staff are very unprofessional when it comes to helping me and my family they talked to us with sarcasm and disrespect.they forced me and my family to end our vacation after there maintenance staff failed to perform the job duties that is being asked while being disrespectful and verbally threatening me and my family with jujitsu after being called out for failing to fix a leak in our room and tried to blame my wife of creating the problem. The hotel was convenient not far from things. The pool was great unfortunately at night, though the light was broken inside the pool so once it got dark, you couldn't see anything on the patio or in the pool but other than that, it was fine.

And one of the few indoor pools on the strip for those cool or bad weather days. Service was great and the beds were comfortable.

We had an issue getting clean towels, not sure why. We also had an issue with no couch being in the room when the couch was advertised as being in the room as a fold out. Everyday supplies are not supplied examples like dishwashing detergent, paper towels, trash bags.
Overall I would probably give the accommodations 3.75 out of 5 Stars.

The TV was not a smart TV and had minimum cable channels. It just felt like the unit needed some upgrades. The bathroom had a nasty leaky spot above the shower head that was black and looked like a piece was going to fall off. It was not big, but it just made ya feel icky being the shower. The towels and sheets/comforters were old and rough. A few upgrades and it would be perfect!

The hotel is a little old and in need of updates but overall it's in good shape. It's exactly what I was looking for away from the main beach with all the party crowds. It was very clean. The check in staff was very important. There was an issue with my reservation extension and a mistake in the system. No big deal mistakes happen however the Regional manager happened to be on site and without bothering to check all of his resources decided he was going to come aggressively bang on my door and yell, speaking to me as if I was a child telling me that check out was at 11:00, mind you it was close to 2:00, and then proceed to argue with me about my paid reservation, only then did he check the mini computer in his hand and discover that it was in fact their mistake. He did not even bother to make eye contact or apologize. He walked away. without an apology. When I went down to speak to them in person about it they were going to give me a fruit basket. No thanks. I only had two days and they managed to ruin my one full day. It was awful to the point that it took away from anything had been positive.
Needless to say I will not return here. God forbid there is another mistake I don't ever want to be treated that way again. I really hope they don't treat all of their clients that way.

This hotel is great with a very beautiful view of the ocean. While my overall experience was positive, what’s stopping me from giving 5 stars are as follows:

The room itself for some reason was giving me severe allergies. My nose kept running and the longer I stood in that room, the worse it got until at one point it looked like I caught a cold with the amount of times I was sneezing.

The pool is not lit up at night. I consider that a safety hazard considering I still saw people including small children in that pool at night.

The laundry room is absolutely garbage and is not maintained at all. The moment I went inside that room, I was hit with a nasty stench of moldy water that was inside one of the washers. Who knows how long that water was sitting inside that washer. The only other washer that was still working was filled with someone’s nasty underclothes completely unattended as God knows how long all that was sitting in there. I had to use an outside laundromat to get my clothes washed and dried.

Everything else including the staff, amenities at the front lobby, and on-site cafe are great however. I would overall recommend this hotel but keep my complaints in mind if you decide to stay here.

The hotel itself was OK. Clean. Old and a little run down but had everything I needed. Beach view is great. Not many amenities.

I ended up deciding to stay a second day however I was told to make a second reservation, because I made the first through Expedia and it was too late to add on. the regional manager happened to be on site. somehow their system messed up and didn't show my second reservation. Mistakes happen no big deal what. was a big deal was that while laying down the banging on my door made me think the police were literally about to bust down my door, I was scared to death something was happening, and it was all because he came to argue and tell me that I missed check out. only to realize, after arguing with me repearedly, that his system was wrong. He didn't bother to apologize, the manager in training did. then they wanted to offer me a gift basket. What am I going to do with fruit? I'm not talking about a couple taps on the door, I'm talking about someone's about to bust down the door banging, yelling, and then speaks to you like you didn't just pay good money just spend the weekend at their hotel. Doesn't have the respect to apologize or even look you in the eye. Doesn't offer to compensate you. Nothing.
Mistakes happen. The way you handle them speaks volumes. I will not return here. I desperately needed to get away a this place looked perfect but ended up making me wish I had spent more money to stay somewhere else.

Magnificent vacation, acceptable hotel. The stairs to the beach have been fixed! Fully rebuilt and looking good. The room was not super clean - some bugs, some hair. The kitchenette had some items but not a full set (there were plates and mugs, 1 pan, 1 pot, some utensils). The toilet did not flush consistently. BUT, at only $70/night for a big room with a kitchen and an oceanfront balcony it was a steal! Good pillows, good privacy, excellent view. Check in/out was a breeze.

Online photos and descriptions are deceptive. The outdoor pool seemed dirty. Cloudy water. The indoor pool seemed ok but hard to tell with overwhelming chlorine smell. The outdoor shower was faulty. there was a large unsightly hole at the shower/beach gate. The interior of the room was antiquated. The mattress felt like springs were about to pop out. The bathroom shower was iffy on working and regulating temp and water flow. We bought our own toilet tissue as the stuff provided was see through and rough. There was NOT enough handicapped parking spots which was important to not only us but others I'm sure. I wouldn't recommend nor ever plan to go back.

Be prepared that the pictures online are not what the rooms really look like. Our bathroom was gross and the shower spout looked like it was going to come off. The shower curtain hadn’t been washed in a while. The shampoo/conditioner they supply is enough for one shower for one person.
The ceiling looked like someone had thrown food or something on it, there were stains all over it.
There is only one bedside table so I had to use the rolling chair as a table.
The WiFi was spotty at best.
The walls are extremely thin, we could hear the people next to us yelling at their kids. Plus someone was smoking pot that you could smell strongly every time we left our room.
Luckily we weren’t in town for the hotel stay. We will not be using this hotel ever again.

If you’re looking for amazing views of the ocean then get the oceanfront view room. That was the only thing that saved this hotel. Plus the access to the beach was great too. But other than that this place was the worst.

Property seems to be busy but could use some attention. If it wasn't for the Oceanfront view and location I would have not been happy as not up to my normal standards. However, as the days went by I got used to the sliding door being hard to open, the shower not working and the bathtub water flow slow. The beds were amazing and the refrigerator kept my drinks and food cold. Room was dark at night, parking was free and available plus I felt safe.

the front desk staff were not welcoming not friendly but under stress, there was water on the floor of the lobby and all the way to the elevator which is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Parking at the rear at the hotel is pitch black at night which attracted \"strange people\". Beach view was alright but not great since we were on the second floor. This is an old hotel, so no smart tv, 2 roaches and fault odors in the corridors and lobby area...they charged a resort fee which seems to be bogus for what you actually get. Check in was very late 4pm and checking out too early 10am. I am not sure how or when they got the reviews or stars i saw online which again was not what we saw while there. This is a 1 to 2 stars hotel in a less than desirable area, pricing and the fact that beach access was right there made it the whole ordeal bearable but we will not return.

Housekeeping only took out our trash the 5 days we were there and I think brought towels one day! They never made the beds or anything out of the way! The guy at the front desk on check in with the braids was EXCELLENT! He values customer service and he loves his job! He went above and beyond to help. My husband has back problems and he helped get the luggage cart on the elevator and to our room! We only saw him on check in day but he was exceptional!!! The hotel was dated and the rooms as well but you can tell they try to keep things tidy! I would definitely stay here again. The cafe was decent it wasn’t anything spectacular. The indoor pool was nasty, hair and junk in it but the outside one was great!! It was great to be able to walk down the stairs to the beach!! We had a great time and can’t wait to be back!!!

I don’t even know where to start. First, I booked a weekend stay for me and my wife at this hotel for our anniversary. When we arrived and got our keys, and went all the way to the 7th floor, the keys didn’t work and we had to go all the way down stairs to have them fix it. When we finally got into our room, everything seemed clean until we started walking around barefoot and our feet became black. The door to the balcony was so hard to open so we barely got to go out there and enjoy it due to the hassle of opening the door. The toilet was so wobbly when you’d sit on it. The bath tub was hard to turn the water on. Just janky problems. Which added up. Not worth the money. On top of all these issues, when we asked for anything (ie. Towels, a trolly cart to haul our stuff down, etc). We were basically told they were all in use and the towels weren’t available. They’d give us no alternative options or anything. It was pretty much, “yeah I don’t know what to tell you,” energy. Please save your money.

The staff were super! Friendly & helpful. The property is great & directly on beach, the pool deck is great but the outdoor shower was not working nor was the foot wash to rinse sand off after the beach. Had to wear sand covered shoes/ clothing through the halls and elevator up to the room to rinse off the entire family. There’s no complimentary breakfast and unfortunately the Cafe on site does not run on a regular schedule (schedule posted but was repeatedly unexpectedly closed throughout the week we were there) so counting on the Cafe to purchase meals is not really an option. Guest laundry was very nice and very well priced. Expedia room description advertised a couch in the room we reserved but only got a small chair. So have a plan if banking on a couch. Good place to stay, would use again for sure

Been coming to this location for 8 years, so I did not think to check newer reviews. Always loved this hotel, but this year we were very disappointed. The room next to us had a big white dog who had fur all down the hallway and chunks in the elevator. The room was dirty and had hair on the towels, floors, and vanity. The outdoor shower by the pool did not work, the ice maker did not work. The cafe was closed, the pool was dirty, and the balcony door would not open and close easily, we had to push it open and closed using all our weight. When we looked at it, we found the glass was being held in with duct tape. The kicker was when we were watching tv one evening, a German roach crawled across the ceiling. As much as I hate to say it, this will be our last year at this hotel.

Stayed here last August and it was great - the woman who was very helpful (front desk) is no longer there.
Front desk now - no comment. Needed attention on property taken quite casually. Housekeeping and general staff - very good, friendly, helpful..
Asked for a repair and we were basically told item could be replaced, but suggested we just live with it (by a maintenance guy).
We recommended this place to many people, but will probably not stay here on June trip (we live in Florida, but go here for specialist/medical visits).

I don’t normally write negative reviews, but after seeing so many great reviews for this property, I was completely shocked by our actual experience.

We stayed for 6 nights, and the service was incredibly lacking. On day 3, we received a call at 11:00 PM stating housekeeping would arrive the next morning. Understanding they only clean the rooms after 3 days. We went out for the entire day, but when we returned, the room hadn't been touched. Throughout our entire trip, we constantly had to beg for clean towels, only to be repeatedly told there weren't any available. We finally managed to get four towels on our last request. I also had to ask for fresh sheets and changed the beds myself. Because of the beach location, sand easily tracks in, but I had to ask for a broom to clean our own floors; thankfully, an off-duty employee was kind enough to help me find one. To add to the frustration, our key cards constantly deactivated, and we spotted a roach on our door (thankfully, just the one).

Pros:
Beautiful beachfront location and an amazing view.
The pools were fantastic for the kids.
The beds were very comfortable.
Having a kitchenette was great, though it was bare-bones and we had to buy our own utensils.

The property itself has so much potential, but the lack of basic housekeeping and amenities really put a damper on our Daytona trip. But overall we had a great time!

Well our visit had its ups and downs. First of all we had a balcony room, we had to call about the sliding glass door it was very hard to open and close they did work on it so it hit better. One of those the elevators went out several times and that was terrible long wait with only one elevator. The had an ice cream machine but it was out of order the 3 days we were there. We asked the house keeping maids for more towels and we were told in a rude way she didn't work on our floor. We mostly will look for a different place next time to stay.

Room door 'stuck ' and was hard to open Balcony sliding door didn't fully close, gap from top to bottom about 1/8\". Phone did not work to call desk or otherwise.
Key card for room door stopped working and took too long to rectify (3 retries, none worked and THEN staff actually investigated what was happening, rather than make a new set of keys, which ended up not working. Was not happy about spending an hour going up and down to the front to deal with it.
Asked for towels, needed them replaced due to a spill we cleaned up. Had to ask 3 diff times throughout the day and never received them. We ended up getting them from a cleaning lady/cart we happened to see. Very expensive room. Stayed in a condo just a block away with much better amenities, a bedroom, kitchen, and w/d at a resort with 3 pools a lazy river and waterslide, on the beach, for 4 nights for only 200 more than this 650 3 night stay.

While this was a reasonably price stay for an oceanfront venue, we would have been happier spending more money elsewhere. The room was reasonably clean upon arrival but they only clean every other day. Sand on the tile floor is a problem and trash builds up quick. We only got one towel each for our 3 day stay there never any available when we requested more. Pet friendly but the smell of dog permates the air. TV remote only changed channels and volume, we had to get out of bed to turn it off. Shower water was just lukewarm. Plus we were charged an additional $8.00 a day \"Resort Fee\". The only ammenity was swimming pool, which was well maintained. We had to use ice in the refrigerator to keep drinks cold.

The property is fully non smoking so if you smoke you can not smoke on the balcony even and must go out to the parking lot. Typically the balcony is fine. This was not mentioned in information online and would have affected where we stayed. The phones aren’t connected and you can’t call the Front desk. A key card quit working. My friend went to front desk and had it replaced. That one didn’t work either. So I went down and asked them to address the issue. They made me 3 more and sent me on my way. They didn’t work. Did this 1 more time. I feel they should have handled it and not made me or us spend hour+ going back and forth. Lectures us on keeping cats away from phones which we knew, and 1mention is fine but to keep telling us and saying it’s the problem was crazy. We knew and mine still worked anyway. It did get fixed. Our sliding door did not shut entirely, there was slways a small crack between door and frame and our entry door stuck and you had to push very hard to open and be sure to pull it closed and check it latched. Always it took a couple tries to get it opened before key access timed out and we had to rescan the key card. Had to request new towels 3times and ended up getting from a cleaning cart. Denied late checkout, which is only mildly irritating and wouldn’t mention if not for the other issues. Decent place, with issues, but at $200+ a night, very overpriced. Won’t stay here again.

manager helped husband look for missing hearing aids in the lobby trash, not found. He alerted his whole team to be on the look out for them. Husband later found them after they slipped out of his pants pocket while removing his shoes, tucked under a bed pillow, he had them balled in a tissue because it was raining & he didn't want them wet & short out, God was watching over him, @ $5000 for a new set, I was ready to leave the husband @ the hotel & drive off! On a 2nd note, TV stations were lacking enjoyable viewing, like the news. I get it, @ the beach, but we still wanted to unwind later in the evening

Stay was okay. Rooms need updating. Faucet in shower was nearly falling off the wall and leaking water; rust and water damage throughout room. Door molding that secures chain loose and not secure, door frame broken appearing as though someone tried kicking the door open.

It is a plus that there is an indoor pool and a good refrigerator. Cost entirely too much for one night. In my opinion it looked like a spring breaker’s retreat

First let me say that I felt safe and secure at this location. I’m from a big city and we take safety seriously and I loved the fact that this hotel valued safety for guests. James was very friendly and helpful during our check in process. The room was spacious and stocked up with everything we needed. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and clients. I look forward to coming back during the summer months.

This was my first time staying at Tropical Winds. It was pet friendly, and that was a bonus, so I decided to load up my best buddy, and ride over to Daytona Beach and give it a try. My room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a huge counter with lots of space. There were 5 large drawers in the room, so a good amount of space for clothes. There was a cute table with 2 chairs, and a nice large desk with a rolling chair. It also had a kitchenette with an oven, stove, full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and a sink. The view of the ocean, from the room, was spectacular. The property, itself, was clean and comfortable. All the employees I encountered with were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the young lady (I’m sorry for not getting her name) with the gorgeous, turquoise, hair that worked at the front desk in the evenings. She checked me in when I arrived and was so informative and helpful. She gave my dog a treat the moment we walked in, and then she actually sat down on the floor and interacted with my kind of skittish and anxious dog. I thought it was incredibly kind of her to spend some time with him. 😊 I had a nice time. I will definitely be back!

Loud, large dog barking, people banging on my door all hours of the night, shower broke, sliding glass door didn’t lock. Telephone in the room didn’t work. Charged me when I checked in even though I had already paid, check-in is 4pm, couldn’t get my room till after 5pm. I’ve stayed here before (5 times), this was the worst stay.

Terrible hotel. Had to get our room changed because our initial room was terrible. Actually tried to book another hotel but everything was full. Our second room was better but the schedule to clean our room was terrible. Moved to the new room on Sunday and we did not get any room cleaning till Thursday. Had to beg for bathroom towels all week. The only bright spot was Kyle who did his best to assist in anything.

Pool was clean. room was spotless. Balcony overlooked the ocean. Staff was wonderful and got us into the room immediately. He recommended great restaurants and we heard crashing waves all night with an overall amazing experience.

I have stayed here multiple times and it has been good. This time room was not the cleanest, indoor pool was closed, another guest had a screaming fit in the hallway outside my door because a maid walked into his room at 8:30 in the morning. They were kind enough to let me get an extended check out, but tried to overcharge me until I insisted on them charging me the amount that their website stated. I checked out on Wednesday with my bill paid in full and by Friday they had charged me for staying Thursday and Friday, which I did not. When I called to have it fixed they said only the general manager could fix it and he was busy with customers. I would think charging someone’s card twice equaling over $200 would be a big deal but apparently not to them. I won’t be staying again in the future.

I have always enjoyed my stay at Tropical Winds, however, during this stay the room was not completely cleaned! Awful smell in room! My friend and I cleaned the room and discovered food had been cooked and left in the microwave. After cleaning the room, the stay was enjoyable!

L'hôtel de dehors ne représente pas les chambres qui sont plus belle que l'extérieur. Par contre ou lala que ça sent la marijuana partout dans l'hôtel.vue sur mer tout simplement magnifique. Lit extrêmement inconfortable mais pour une nuit on a survécu. Un peu de moisi dans le cadrage des porte patio mais sinon assez propre. Très belle piscine mais eau trop froide et petit déjeuner pas compris dans le prix

I have mixed feelings about my stay. On one hand, the staff was wonderful; they truly tried their best to resolve the issues we encountered. However, the property is in desperate need of a serious update.
Our room was unfortunately quite dirty—specifically the floors, which needed a deep scrub. While the maintenance team did fix our TV issues, it took until the third day of our stay. Additionally, the kitchen was poorly stocked and lacked basic dishes and pots. The location is excellent, but until the rooms are renovated and cleaned more thoroughly, it’s hard to fully enjoy the stay.

Pro's: room was clean and smelled good, parking lot felt safe, good price compared to nearby competitors, dog friendly, on the beach.

Potential areas of improvement: To sum it up, they need more staff, we waited ~20minutes at the front desk with 2 other families waiting to be checked in. It was after 4pm and the rooms weren't ready. When the gentlemen finally came to the front desk, it turned out he was trying to help catch up on laundry <3. The dog fee online indicates $20 but they were asking for $70 at the desk upon checkin- this feels like a huge discrepancy considering I chose this venue due to what i had believed was a reasonable dog fee, likely wouldnt have booked if i knew it was $70

The staff was mean, had an attitude and would not even look at you. Check in was at 4 and did not get a room till 6:30. Staff did not apologize or offer any accommodations since I paid for a full night but technically did not get a full night. No entry from pool to beach. You have to walk around the building and walk in by car beach entrance. Great view from room facing beach.

Upon checkin, the guy at the desk never smiled or greeted us, just asked, “Are you checking in?” He seemed overwhelmed, but not really friendly at all. At 12:15am we were wakened by someone sliding an advertisement into our room doorframe! How does this even happen? Do the side doors to the building not lock? My girlfriend was scared and she highly encouraged me to not confront the person. I was told in the morning upon checking out to notify the manager, “They may want to know.” I was appalled that they were not only aware of this, but appears to be an ongoing problem!! The room was adequate.

When we arrived the room and kitchen were very clean. But soon realized the hotel was not what we expected. There weee signs that due to being Eco friendly the room would be cleaned every 3 days. We were there for 5 and the room was never cleaned. If it was not for us emptying and taking out our own garbage, making our own beds and cleaning the sinks ourselves, it would have not gotten done at all. There was one ice machine for all 8 floors and it was in the lobby. If we wanted clean towels, we had to “turn in” our wet used towels to the front desk first,to show we were not stealing towels.
The view of the ocean was beautiful and most of the employees were kind and helpful, however you could tell their hands were tied by management’s directive
The cafe on sight serves delicious food and the servers were very friendly

We stayed in the penthouse suite on the 8th floor. It was absolutely fabulous for the price. Very roomy, clean and a great view. The building is old but the elevators are actually pretty fast. Would definitely look at it first when we return.
