The building was nice. The valet staff and the staff in The Abalone restaurant were excellent. It was clear, however, that the front desk staff didn't really care and room service was more like ordering from door dash than hotel room service. One guy seemed like he was mad that he had to bring us our food at all.

About the front desk: When we checked in, we weren't greeted, we weren't told where to go to get to the elevators, where to find our in room fridge or if we even had one, or really anything useful. When we checked out, we checked out early (see below for why). The front desk agent didn't even ask why or say much of anything. She seemed half asleep.

Why we checked out a full day early: The air conditioner was so loud in the room that it drowned out the sound of the ocean and we couldn't hear each other talk unless we were right next to each other. The bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Between those two things, we couldn't get a good night's sleep at all.

So while the ocean view was great, and the valet and restaurant staff was amazing, we will not be staying here again, nor will we recommend it to anyone else.

We stayed in a beach view king bed suite. The room was very clean, a little basic but had everything we needed. Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful, apart from one bartender who completely ignored us multiple times. He would even look away as he walked past us at the bar, it was 15 minutes before we got served a drink (by a different bartender that walked behind the bar) and then we sat with empty glasses for another 10 minutes. He was cleaning, on his phone, re-stocking the bar but absolutely would not look at us.
Had they not charged a 18% gratuity on the bill, they would have received NO tip!

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was not the best. The breakfast was very disappointing and honestly one of the worst parts of the stay. I truly would not recommend the hotel breakfast (The Abalone).
Additionally, the front desk staff was not very friendly or understanding when I asked for a late check-out of just 20 minutes. They did not seem very welcoming in the morning.
On the positive side, the housekeeping staff was wonderful — very kind, generous, and professional throughout the stay. They were definitely the highlight of the experience. Additionally, the beach view was beautiful, and the bar staff was exceptional.

Got on site and had a surprise additional $150 to pay on top of our reservation we booked. Parking is more expensive than the listed $15 per day as well as an extra \"resort fee\"? Valet is a joke and you can almost not avoid them requiring it from you, basically tried to take the keys out of my hand. Staff were incredibly rude when discussing the miscommunication with booking fee and additional costs. Spoke to me as if I was illiterate and were just very inconsiderate and unkind. Daytona Beach was kind of a dump and there was construction everywhere making it hard and dangerous to walk in and out of the hotel. Will not be going back.

The hotel spends a lot on cleaning staff, and the rooms and common areas are in great condition. The facilities were well maintained and the pool very nice. The pool chairs were tired and not comfortable. The Abalone restaurant was understaffed and consequently the food and service were not great. There are no smart TV's and it seems as if nobody has ever heard about their existance. They charge a $35/day \"resort fee\" which seems like an upcharge that they should just be honest about when you book the room, and price it in. Nobody likes surprises. The check out took about 25 minutes as the front desk staff seemed very confused about how to run the computers and various charges. The bartender Shane was excellent so all is forgiven!

Stayed for 2 nights for a graduation, so we didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel but in the little bit of downtime we had we enjoyed the hotel. It’s right on the beach a the pool was really nice. The onsite restaraunt was good and the snack/ coffee bar in the lobby came in handy. The hotel was beautiful and clean and everyone was helpful. The room and bathroom were really big with coffee maker, refrigerator, safe and iron with ironing board. That came in really handy with graduation clothes. I wish they had a I wish they had an in room microwave, but there is a microwave down in the lobby snack area that I guess you can use. My room was modern. I had the traditional room city view so didn’t have a balcony, but it had ceiling to floor windows gave a beautiful city view. The bathroom was totally renovated and clean. Parking was right across the street in the garage and they had Vallets out front. One negative is the resort fee and parking fee. I also heard about some charges about beach chairs from other family but I don’t know if that was true cause I didn’t experience it myself I would think with the resort fee that would be covered. Overall, I had a really great stay and will definitely stay there again when I’m back in the area

The Dayton Grande is a beautiful resort which has touches of old Florida but at the same time is modern and well taken care of. The view is stunning. The amenities are good. The beach is very nice. It was so relaxing and restful. Spring for a balcony because the view and being able to watch the sunrise is worth it.

Great beach getaway. It is a lovely hotel with great staff. Room was spacious and clean.

We stayed in a beach side king room that included a small balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, expect when the ac went on. We even got to watch and engagement from the balcony. Marry Me was written in the sand with a heart of lights around it, and then on bended knee he proposed.

We enjoyed the hot tube and pool deck bar. The bar was a fun place with a good selection and fun non- alcohol drinks as well. There are plenty of lounges on the deck to hang out. While the hight of the hotel casts a shadow on the pool deck in the late afternoon, which I personally like, there were section on either end with sun most of the day for those who seek the sun all day.

There was a beach chair and umbrella vendor on the beach, not part of the hotel. This was a great option to be on the beach and we enjoyed that as well. The hotel is one building from the north end of the boardwalk and in a no driving on the beach section. This made for a beach experience as well as a great hotel experience.

It is easy to get to but parking is across the street. We used the valet service and they were great.

Typical hotel... some of the pool chairs are old, sagging material, uncomfortable, but some are fine as well. Pool itself is fine, very large, although it is in the shade by 2pm.
Overall, the hotel is fine... our room, 2523, did have a beach view, but only partial... it also had a nice view of the building next door. Also, the hvac was the loudest I've ever heard in a room; i really didn't mind, but it was loud. And the bathroom door didn't shut well and was creaky when opening and kind of falling apart... that kind of little stuff that kind of takes away from the experience. But overall, for an older building, not bad.

This hotel was wonderful. The food on site was sooo delicious. Everything we tried was great. There was a little construction going on outside, but we were glad to find that you can’t hear it from the rooms or the pool deck. It did make it difficult to get back and forth from the parking deck - so I do believe their valet service is worth it. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Beach access was fantastic and the pool was a great temperature. We will definitely be visiting again!

This property was great. Great views when you book ocean views. Floors above 16 are noisy from the elevator shaft banging all night long but nicely renovated. Floors below that seem a bit more worn but not as noisy.
Nice buffet breakfast. Staff friendly.
You do have to pay extra for everything though. And the city is very run down and dirty.
Overall a wonderful stay. Thank you.

I had a wonderful check-in experience thanks to Evey at the front desk. She took care of both me and my sister, and from the moment we arrived, she was welcoming, professional, and incredibly well prepared. Everything was handled smoothly and efficiently, which made a great first impression on our stay.
What stood out the most was her attention to detail and the genuine care she showed. She made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to answer our questions with patience and kindness. It’s clear she takes pride in providing excellent service.

The hotel was lovely. Rooms were comfortable. Pool and hot tub were excellent. The only real issue or complaints I have were the food was sub-par at the restaurants and bar and the shower in our room had horrible water pressure - it barely dribbled out of the shower head. For those reasons, I would most likely not choose to stay here again.
