I want to start by saying that the staff was really friendly, however the hotel pictures on the website is not what the hotel looks like. There was a lot of rust and the paint coming of the walls also the elevators are crazy scary they didn't seem to be working properly at the time I was staying there, I stayed 6 days and only had room service once and that was only picking up the trash and giving me the clean towels I requested.

This property never disappoints. It’s walking distance to food, beach supplies, and entertainment. Plenty of parking, three pools including a kiddie pool and the most spectacular unobstructed ocean views around. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it’s always hard to leave.

I had a blast and enjoyed the ocean view it was amazing with waking up with the sound of the ocean 😍 just the bathroom needs to be remodel the toilet was clog I had to unclog it by throwing a bucket of water in it. But breakfast was good you can grab and go and eat your breakfast in the room if you want to. But I will stay again

The hotel is clean but desperately needs updated. The appliances, toilets, bathtubs and sinks all need replaced. The entire building inside and out needs painted. The doors don’t shut all the way and there are huge cracks for bugs to crawl through. The lady at the front desk was amazing and so friendly! Although I probably won’t stay here again it was okay for two days and the price was good. Like I said, it was clean. Housekeeping done a good job. Just needs a major facelift. The beach wasn’t crowded at all in front of the condo and that was really nice.

First let me say, the lady working the front desk is amazing. So very nice and helpful. The hotel is in dire need of a facelift. The building needs painted, our door had a crack around it and I’m sure bugs can crawl in it. The furniture is old. Our toilet never stopped running. One pool wasn’t open. We only stayed 2 nights after our cruise, the room was clean, but definitely needs updated.

When we got to our room there was hair in tub drain, pee all over toilet, room didn't appear to have been cleaned at all. I let the front desk know and they apologized and moved us to a new room but the ocean view was not as good. We were booking a hotel for the archery world's tournament so needed something budget friendly. The stay wasn't terrible and it fit what we needed just issue with cleanliness.

Pros:
•The view - you cant beat it. Right on the water and just absolutely amazing. The access to beach was so nice to have.
•The housekeeping staff was so nice and helpful. Very kind.
•There is free breakfast. It exists. See cons.
• They had a room to fit my family of 5 which is way harder than it should be to find.

Cons:
•Management. We had a lot go wrong and they did not seem like they were interested in helping us at all.
•Up keep - our hotel door would not stay closed; during a bad storm it actually blew open. They sent maintenance up and they put a latch on the inside but said that's all they could do for us. Anyone could have walked into our room at any time. Our tub leaked and our safe was broken.
• Free breakfast is a term to be used very lightly here. We went once but there were so many people packed into such a tiny room it was hard to move. The only food options were bowls of cereal, and overly sugary pre-packaged foods. It would have been nice to see some fresh options. We hit the store and stocked the fridge in the room instead, which worked out fine.
•Beware the pull out couch. It would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor. The one is our room was pretty old maybe some of the other rooms have better ones.

Well for starters my girlfriend and I only planned a two night stay in an expensive room. We called ahead to see what the check in experience was like and we were given a fair warning that the rooms my not be fully cleaned by our check in time so we waited and came an hour later. When we arrived there was a woman complaining of having found drugs in between the pages of the bible that was in her hotel room and the police had to be involved. Next we checked in and got to our room which was incredibly filthy. We found acrylic nails lying around on the coffee table, the floors were disgusting covered in food crumbs, dirt, sand, hair. If you could name it an our floor probably had it(we had to wear our shoes while inside for the entirety of our trip) after seeing all of this we were very let down but still continued to explore the hotel room. When we got into the bedroom we saw white stained sheets stained mattresses and hair all over the pillows from other people’s stay. we called the front desk and they sent maintenance up to us to check out the room and when he got to us he agreed that the room looked as if it had never seen a broom, vacuum or disinfectant before. He then told us that the cleaners were gone for the day and the only way we could get the room cleaned was by doing it ourselves. So he gave us a broom and we did just that. Needless to say very displeased with the trip and we won’t be returning.

Slider door was broken and didnt shut all the way. Room was always muggy. Stove, microwave was disgusting. Smelt like mildew. Very old, rusted vents, peeling paint. Sticky furniture. Doors hard to shut. Shower constantly leaked.

No towels for two days. Finally brought like 10. So from one extreme to the next.

Was a big room and the balcony was nice but other than that, wouldn't stay ever again.

My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The hotel does not look like the pictures shown online. The property is old and clearly lacks proper maintenance. The paint is worn, and many of the doors show rust and corrosion.

In addition, the elevator to the third floor was not working, which was very inconvenient for my family. We rented several rooms, and some of the doors would not close properly. Because of this issue, one of the doors became damaged, and the guests had to spend the entire night with the door open.

Overall, the condition of the hotel did not meet the expectations created by the photos. It was a very disappointing experience that negatively affected our family vacation. I would not recommend this hotel

I recommend that you do not go to this hotel, the place is horrible, everything is old and also super dirty, there are a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms and they do nothing to help with the problem, the images they show on the internet are a total lie, my family and I had to leave one night before the departure date, my children's room was always with the door almost open since the lacquering of the door did not serve, I definitely feel scammed by that hotel, if they could return my money it would be excellent.

My family and I stayed at El Caribe Resort & Conference Center from June 5–11 in the Ormond Beach Suite (Room 1709), and unfortunately this stay was a significant disappointment compared to our previous visits in 2015 and 2021. Upon arrival, we were immediately informed that our room’s entry door had existing damage and reassured that we would not be charged for it. After partially unpacking and completing a grocery run, we discovered that the refrigerator was not cooling properly. Staff responded promptly and moved us to another suite (Room 1310), which was larger and appeared to be an upgrade. We thanked them and fully unpacked our belongings, including our groceries. The following morning, after we had already hauled all of our beach equipment down to the beach for the day, I received a phone call informing me that the refrigerator in our original room had been repaired and that we would need to move back. At no point during the initial room transfer was it communicated that the move was temporary or for one night only. Had we been told that, we would have made very different decisions about unpacking. I explained that we had already unpacked everything and that moving again would significantly disrupt our vacation, but I was told that Room 1310 had already been assigned to another guest and that we had no choice but to return to Room 1709. The room had little silverware/plates, and I received an electrical shock from the back right burner of the stove while trying to cook

El Caribe Resort stands out among many properties because of its incredible location, beautiful ocean views, and convenient beach access. My family and I have been visiting for the past seven years, and we've created many wonderful memories there.

Unfortunately, we've noticed a significant decline in the property's upkeep over time. During this most recent stay, there were not enough towels or blankets available, the elevators were unreliable, the pools were no longer heated, doors frequently jammed, and the rooms were not as clean as they should have been. We encountered dirty tables, mold on the shower and balcony curtains, and even the ice machine was out of service!

If it weren't for the unbeatable location and the emotional connection our family has to this resort, we likely would not return. It's truly disappointing to see a property with so much potential and such a loyal following fall into disrepair. We sincerely hope management invests in improving and maintaining the resort so future guests can enjoy the experience it once offered.

The property is aging but has a beachfront location for a low price. The pool was dirty and chairs were sagging. In the bathroom tile needed replaced. Door to our room had to be slammed really hard to shut. Alot of deterioration showing. But the beds were clean. I would probably try to find another place to stay unless I heard they remodeled the grounds. The elevators are kinda creaky. The space is good and kitchenette was a good asset.

Getting our room cleaned felt like more of a chore unfortunately. And when we asked to toiletries or towels, we were told to go downstairs and grab them ourselves. And for how much I spent on that room, it definitely should’ve been way more updated and polished. There was very few staffs that were nice. The rooms were very clean, and we especially loved the comfortable beds and the variety of pillows provided. While the property is on the older side, it is great to see the ongoing updates. Every member of your staff, including the maintenance team, was extremely friendly and helpful.

We also wanted to share a special mention for the check-in desk team—the ladies were absolutely amazing, and there was a gentleman there who was very funny and made us feel welcome.

The location is excellent, and while the grocery store across the street was under renovation, having a Publix just up the road was very convenient.

I recently stayed at El Caribe Hotel & Conference Center, and I have very mixed feelings about the experience.

The location is absolutely beautiful. As soon as you walk into the room, the ocean view truly takes your breath away. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was incredibly peaceful and easily the highlight of the stay.

Unfortunately, while the room looks nice at first glance, the cleanliness was a major issue. The bathroom was so dingy that I didn’t feel comfortable showering during my entire stay—my husband felt the same way. The toilet ran all night, which made it hard to relax, and the bed sheets were dirty. We usually bring our own sheets, so it wasn’t a huge inconvenience for us personally, but it’s still unacceptable and honestly pretty gross.

I do want to say that the staff was very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. It’s clear that the hotel has so much potential. With some serious updates and better housekeeping, this place could be amazing.

Overall, the location and views are incredible, but the condition and cleanliness of the hotel really take away from the experience. Great spot, but not-so-great stay.

I had such high hopes. I went to four different rooms and really tried to have an open mind. The rooms were dirty. They didn’t look like they had been properly cleaned in years. The last room they sent me to hadn’t even been cleaned by staff and had unmade beds and dirt towels. The bathroom was disgusting. I honestly felt unclean after being in these rooms. Find somewhere else to stay. I do have to say that the front desk lady was the sweetest human ever. She was so understanding and kind. She even tried to help me find where else to stay.

I have stayed at this Resort Confernce Center for about 6 or more years straight and it is not cheap. Mrs. Wanda the receptionist whwn i checked it was so nice and pleasant. Same as I had received years prior. From Friday morning walking in to speak with the receptionist i was not greeted with words but with 2 unprofessional ladies they had conversation amongst each other. And they just stared at me like I was interrupting. Still no greeting, no how may I help you. It was very uncomfortable. My telephone had no dial tone for me to call front desk to request towels and wash clothes. One of the ladies stated maintenace will be up to fix it. There was no 24 hour security as the resort had always provided for motorcycle safety which was not provided prior to booking. I check out a day early and when i entered 2 ladies wer sitting in the lobby like guest eating food, no one at the desk and i again received uncomfortable stares from both ladies like i didnt belong there. And this time I let it be known tbat this has been the worst stay ever at this resort that for 6 or more years had no issues with. No greeting, they remained eating no one at the desk to check me out VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! They have completely lost me as a regular booking client during my future stays. I understand the new staff changes but they definitely need to train the ones they have in place now. I am very disappointed.

Room was disgustingly dirty, micro wave nasty dirty. Nothing like the pictures on Expedia. Asked for another room to check in and was given a keycard to another room which apparently was occupied and dead bolted. Never checked in. Manger was gonna give us a refund but we had to contact Expedia . First Expedia agent gave us the run around that that he couldn’t contact the hotel. Went to said hotel and they said they got no email or phone call. Called Expedia again, they got ahold of the manager. They finally gave in but screwed us for two days of the eight we booked. We never checked in. As far as I’m concerned someone stills us $500.00 dollars. Not happy with hotel or Expedia.

Misty was off her meds when we checked in. Blood on the walls, drapes, carpet stunk of fecal matter. Raw sewage flowing from the parking lot. We were refunded.

First the staff was very off putting, room key didn’t work and had to go back down to office where front desk obviously had no idea who I was after being there 3 times in less tha 6mins come to find out door key scanner battery wa dead, probably the reason why the room was left completely dirty, dirty side tables and the shower had a very VERY black dirty washcloth hanging on the shower head, kitchen table was nasty with sticky stuff all over it, floors were nasty and right before we left we noticed dried blood ALL over the bottom mattress cover, beds are completely uncomfortable and for $496 a night I expected way better, the door looked like it had been broken into also, it was so unkept and not cleaned it was one of the worst places I’ve ever been in, remind you after going back down the 4th time the lady didn’t recognize me AGAIN and then told me they would clean the room took our room keys and said she’ll find another room to put us and come back in 2hrs instead of sending someone up immediately to make it right, I’ve never been more dissatisfied in my life with one place, yes I have pictures of everything I’ve mentioned and then some

Was not even supposed to stay here...booked another area hotel on hotels.com and that hotel contacted me day of to inform me that they did not have rooms available, and instead were going to book me at their comparable sister hotel, which turned out to be El Caribe. Sorry to say it was not comparable. Staff was friendly, but sadly the place needs updating....
