The kitchenette did not have any cookware, dishes or utensils. The ice machines were broken, so we had to get ice at the bar. I paid up front through Expedia. At check-in, the guy told me they would take $100 for incidentals. Afterward, we asked for a late check out. The lady attendant on that day made me a big deal out of it. I had to go down to the desk and settle the $30 late check out fee.

I paid for ocean view , received Partial Ocean/City view. I complained about the A/C making noise , they just ignored me. Main lobby was hot, at the bar they only had one lady serving everyone. The wait and drinks were horrible. Will not stay at this hotel.

You rent the room and it don’t cover to park one vehicle which is ridiculous they charge extra every night to park there smh . So we didn’t stay and they won’t give us our money back we are fighting this .

Room and shower not too clean, hallways stunk of Marijuana, door to room was hard to close, could hear others slamming theirs twice to get it closed, was on first floor and just outside my patio with ocean view was trash on the ground that stayed there all three days and nights, front desk women very rude and unfriendly, pool was cloudy could not see bottom of pool, no tiki hut, no tiki theme to hotel or rooms, pool is much smaller then photos lead on in photos, somehow a woman walked into our room at 4:17am our second night and said \"my bad\" and shut the door. Had to get up to close door properly, im assuming she worked for hotel otherwise I have no idea how she gained access to our room. Would not recommend staying, will not return.

They are horrible people they took my money if a 2 day stay yelled and screamed over the phone and when I did not feel comfortable to be in their hotel within five minutes of the booking, I tried to cancel and they decided to keep all of my money. I will continue to fight to get my money back the owner she feels entitled and she feels that because she’s in America. She feels like she can do whatever she wants. She says she’s an American citizen and she can do whatever she wants. I tried everything especially when I’m sick I was. Going there to get a relaxation before a treatment, and it turned out to be the biggest disaster of my life.

The location was great. However the pool area didn’t get cleaned the entire time we were there (4 days and 3 nights). The pool water wasn’t clear and the deck was covered in old towels and garbage. The staff was told but did nothing about it. The interior was clean however and the room was a good size for our family of 4.

Hotel had a restaurant but breakfast cost to eat and coffe costed had coffe in the room but room wasn't cleaned every day
So we have stayed at this hotel for the last 3 years and this year been the worse use to they gave out 2 free drinks tickets 5 to 6 every day that is gone to hotel has 1 elevator and has 2 but the other one has been broke for I know 3 years

The good the staff is great house keeping great the place is clean and smells so good

So they have a really nice pool so for the money I paid was a bed and shower and a pool and that's all I'll pay more somewhere else to have some amenities and the hotel on the beach but has stairs down to the beach and you have to risk dumping out your wagon to get it to the bottom to the beach are make 3 to 4 trips up and down the stairs to take your beach stuff to the beach to set it up if it been me I would have built a ramp for the handicap and the others with wagons and all

I have amazing experience! The rooms were nice and clean they smell amazing. The view was excellent. The food at the bar was so delicious. The drinks were spectacular. Plenty of pool towels to lounge by the pool live DJ music was a plus. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. My stay was from June 19 through the 22nd 2026.

It was mostly ok, the one thing that made us check out earlier was that the first two days of our stay the room was not cleaned at all, the house keeping never went to our room to take the trash out or bring clean towels at least. We went out and got to the room at about 8pm and the bed was exactly how we lefted in the morning when we left, the trash wasn't taken and we didn't have clean towels.

4pm check in time, we couldn't get into our room until 530pm. Beds were OK, showering was leaking on the floor, and TV didn't work. The staff was in no hurry to do anything. To their credit, the property is still being restored after the last hurricane, and a lot of people were checking in at the same time.

The hotel rooms are newly remodeled and are nice. The check-in process was very slow. We stood in line for 45 minutes. As each guest reached the front desk, the attendants were radioing housekeeping to see if rooms were ready. Many guest had to wait for rooms even though it was after the 4:00 PM check-in time. Vent above front desk was very dirty. There is an $8 per night charge to park in the hotel's parking lot. Also, our room had a kitchenette but no cookware.

It took almost 30 min to check us in when there was just 1 person in front of us and 2 employees at the desk, both helping the same person and when we got to the room us was not even done, the sheets where on top of the sofa, no towels and all the drawers open. I would not stay here again. And if you sat at the balcony it smelled outside like someone was always smoking weed. The location is ok but I’m sure there are better places on that same street

I will start by saying the rooms are very clean. The balcony railing was BROKEN completely detached from the wall. On the 5th/Top floor. Informed staff as the railing easily moved and if someone had leaned on it would have definitely fell from the 5th floor. Told staff and was told there was no one on site at that time to look at, but would be by in the am and no one ever came. Glass bottles were busted by the back entrance door. Accidentally steeped on a huge piece (it was dark) with shoes ON, it went through the shoe partially and cut my foot. Could have been much worse. Staff said oh sorry. LOUD LOUD LOUD partying in the parking lot and every floor until weeee hours of the morning. Parking is very SPARCE. If you find a spot don’t leave. It’ll be hours before another spot is available if your lucky.

I can't say my stay was great.

I booked a two-queen room with a kitchenette, but the kitchen came with no dishes or utensils. In my experience, a kitchenette usually includes at least a basic set of dishes, so it ended up being pretty useless.

The bathroom was also poorly designed. There was no toilet paper holder, so the toilet paper kept getting misplaced. The shower wasn't sealed properly, and every shower left water all over the bathroom floor.

I stayed for five nights and had to repeatedly request housekeeping service for trash removal and fresh towels. Despite asking multiple times, the room wasn't serviced until the final night of my stay.

The pool area had poor drainage, leaving standing water around it. It felt like you were already wading through water before even getting into the pool.

One day we had no hot water due to a power surge. There were no accommodations offered for the inconvenience.

Considering how much I paid, the stay was not worth the cost. As a Best Western property, it did not meet the standards I typically expect from the brand

Check-in was terrible. Only one person working the desk at check-in on Friday of a holiday weekend was not ideal. On top of that, our room wasn’t ready until around 6:30pm and we didn’t get to our room until close to 7:00 because of the constant line at the front desk, which only started to move faster when two apparent managers/supervisors showed up after 6pm. We signed a form saying the property is smoke-free and smoking is only allowed on the sidewalk or the beach, yet we saw many people smoking in the parking lot and the pool deck, with no enforcement (this was while an employee was outside on the pool deck getting ready to get people out of the pool because of inclement weather). Our room had a kitchenette with no plates or utensils or anything at all to even heat up our leftovers from the restaurant in (the restaurant uses styrofoam take-out containers), so we had to go down to the restaurant and wait 15 minutes to ask for a plate because there was only one person working as bartender/server/expeditor. The cooktop was also greasy, and whatever they clean the room floors with is slippery. The pool hours are until dusk and since we got our room so late in the afternoon, we lost a day to enjoy the pool and so we wanted to enjoy it for a little bit after we checked out of our room. No pool towels were available and when we went to ask the front desk for more towel, we were told we’re not allowed in the pool after check-out. Never staying here again.

Would not recommend. Spend your money at a different hotel. Roaches 1 alive 1 dead. Loud obnoxious dehumidifier, that you can feel is mandatory to breathe. Forced to be in a conjoined room that is not a \"private\" dividing door what-soever extreme privacy concern I got no sleep. Upon entry i thiught it was the door of a closet to the ironing board. Bathroom stall rooms? Only to make it worse they had a non conjoining room available, but that was $50 more, so after all that they couldn't understand why I wanted out of a this kitchenette roach room with no real privacy from the joining connected room at no cost. Ohh the cherry on top Water was luke warm at best and had P-poor water pressure. Acctually id say AVOID. Needs work. Pics and videos to prove. Expedia made me feel very happy I booked through them after this one. I wonder if BW brand reward members get treated like I did. Very upsetting. It's hospitallty industry... hire security before you ask me to wear a wrist band to show i am staying there so i had a stupid wrist band in my pocket all night just in case... ridiculous.

When I first arrived, the bathroom had no toilet paper. They held $100 which I didn’t know about. Parking was $8 a night which wouldn’t have been bad if they actually mentioned that when booking. I went to the woman on desk duty for pool bands and she informed me I would have to purchase them. Thank GOD I only stayed for 2 nights before going to my real reservation at the Holiday inn which was wonderful. Also the ceiling in the kitchenette was peeling smh never again!

This hotel no longer has a complimentary happy hour. The elevator was broken for at least 4 hours, and the poolside Tiki bar had been torn down. The staff said they did not have adjoining rooms when they did, and I had booked 2 adjacent rooms 2 weeks in advance, but when I checked in, they didn't have any available rooms adjacent to each other.

All staff encountered were polite and helpful. The check in process was easy and they were accommodating to our request for an early check in. We enjoyed the pool and the DJ was on point with his music. Having beachside access for a good hotel rate was a nice treat. Overall we had a great stay and would absolutely stay there again.

**The food at the restaurant needed seasoning and was overpriced for the taste (or lack of). Fries were great though.

Everything was pretty clean. Never saw any roaches like some of the other comments had said. I actually had three rooms booked at this hotel for a family vacation. We checked in on a Monday so that process was fine. Just make sure you give them a legit c.c. to reserve your room on and you shouldn't have a problem. Water pressure in room was excellent. My only complaint is the constant smell of weed, regardless of their strict policy on smoking people were ignoring it. Couldn't even go out on my balcony at times. That's my only complaint.

My stay here was pretty good. Room was clean and nice for the price. Shower was a little broken and the water did not get very hot. A/C worked well. I got the partial oceanfront view which was great and I watched the sunrise every morning. If you book and want a full view make sure you get the oceanfront room. Not ocean view. Parking is $8 a day but free for R/V’s, trucks, buses. Front desk staff was not the friendliest. I arrived after 8. Overall it was a good find for less than $150 a night.

From the start the front desk staff were very rude, she put down 1 person staying when I told her 5. I had visitors come to see me and my mom as it was our 1st time back in Florida after 3 years. The staff made us leave at midnight not due to noise or any complaints, just bc we had visitors and then used the excuse I checked in with 1 person when we were given 5 wristbands for the pool. We were not even at the hotel for 12 hours, nothing wrong with the room and still have not received my deposit back.

Our stay at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn was absolutely terrible from start to finish. When we first arrived, the room they gave us was actually under construction. We had to drag all of our luggage back downstairs to the front desk just to get another room. The second room wasn’t much better because the balcony door didn’t even work properly.

To make matters worse, this hotel only has two elevators, and one of them has apparently been broken for over a year. That meant long waits and overcrowding constantly. None of the ice machines on any of the three floors were working, so getting ice was impossible during our stay. We had to go to the store and buy ice.

The pool area was also poorly managed. When the pool opened, there were no towels available for guests. The pool was dirty like it had not been cleaned for days. For a beachfront hotel, that is completely unacceptable.

The restaurant food was by far some of the worst food we have ever had at a hotel. Everything about this place felt neglected, poorly maintained, and badly managed.

We will never return to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been here to this hotel many times and this time I can promise will be the last. Staff for checking in needs to go through better training. Had trouble checking in then had to pay to park my car when I’ve already paid for the room. Never have they done this before until this recent trip. Mind you I was here not even 2 months ago. I asked when this started happening my answer was I don’t know it’s been that way.. well no it hasn’t and I think it’s a scam to change me to park when I have a room here… the response I got was well other places charge $40 well that’s a lie and had nothing to do with the situation at hand. My family member’s car also almost got towed due to the fact that the woman said she didn’t need a parking pass when in fact, she did.

The room was very nice. This hotel is a about 5 minutes down the road from all the action. It's in a quieter part of town and a less crowded part of the beach. The bar was not open very often at night, but did seem to serve breakfast daily.

It was nice and comfy for the most part. Housekeeping was really good.
The air conditioning made strange noises.
The nightstand table wasn’t straight against the wall. I didn’t even want to keep my phone on it. The nightstand table looked dangerous to me, the way it attached to the wall.
There was confusion with their restaurant, Traders, from various staff members.
On arrival, the desk clerk informed me the restaurant on-site was available for Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner, and it remained open until 10 pm.
2 days later when I was approaching to get dinner at about 5 pm, an employee informed me Traders was only open for Breakfast due to renovations, and it was currently closed.
I had to get dinner elsewhere.
The hotel is in a great location, with a bus stop right in front and with restaurants and souvenir shops within walking distance.
I liked the pool area, and how I was able to sunbathe in a lounge chair and watch the ocean waves, without having to walk in cruddy sand.
Overall, I was glad I stayed there.

Hotel is older and is going through some remodeling but our room was clean, loved the layout for the king bed rooms. We had a city view and we could still get good views of the beach. The bed, OMG it was really comfortable! Hotel staff was friendly. Their pool is large so there is plenty of pool deck space. It was clean with plenty of tables and chairs but I can see where some improvements can be made around the pool deck area; shuffleboard is cracked and old sticks and discs; handicap lift chair wasn't working and was rusty (eye soar), some old pool handles, etc. around the fence (store elsewhere) just too large of an area not to show it off! The restaurant food was pretty good, add a pool server on weekends it would for sure boost revenue for the hotel which is an added bonus for the guests. The bartender / server was so sweet and stayed on top of things. We would stay here again. I can see just a few small changes too really boost their ratings!

I usually go for a hotel with an higher star rating but I really had a great time there this weekend celebrating my sister’s birthday! The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly; which I think spread on to the guests. And the the restaurant, Traders!! Was absolutely wonderful the entire stay, Nicola, the server/cook was gracious, polite and thorough. She greeted us with a smile no matter how busy she was .. she needs a raise!! She handle the floor as she was a staff of 5 .. and absolutely the best waffles I’ve had!!

I have to say this was one of the most best hotels i’ve stayed at while being in Daytona. The room was clean & really nice. Easy access to the beach & multiple restaurants and shopping stores walking distance. We got there a couple hours early but front desk gave us no issues to get are parking pass and park while we went to the beach. Def would recommend to anyone & i will be coming back! :)

Clerk was wonderful. We didn't care for the location of our room and he changed it immediately. Nice view of beach. Restaurant on proprty was less than desirable. Only six occupied tables and customers were ignored. Customers had to get up and get their own menus and tables were left dirty.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything I needed. They made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and the overall experience was excellent. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!

Overall, the stay wasn't bad. There is a view of the ocean from any room, which is nice. The staff was always cleaning, and the hotel was extremely clean. We were disappointed in the \"tiki hut\", which wasn't a hut at all, it's an inside restaurant/bar next to the pool. Unfortunately they closed at 11am each day while we were there, so we couldn't get food or drinks after 11am. If you're looking for a true outdoor \"tiki hut\", this isn't it.

Clean rooms, beds clean & comfortable. Housekeeping 10+ Front desk staff 10+ for Parshan & Vivian professional & friendly and look great in uniform.Everything with this stay was great with exception to restaurant Traders. Checked in and stop by for a cocktail and there was no one, no bartender nor waitress. Not sure what was going on but we left and had great drinks at Crabby's Oceanside. Excellent.

Nice remodel after the hurricane; the Tiki Bar was never replaced. The rooms are nice and the A/C works well. It seems the refrigerators were scaled down, but again no real issue. The problem with this hotel, even years later, is the simple things they could get right. Not having an icemaker for the entire hotel? No excuse for this - only one of the two elevators working? These were the reasons I stopped staying here a couple years ago, and the fact that these simple things are not addressed speaks to the lax standards of the owners.

A decent place on the beach at a decent cost - too bad, because it could be a great hotel.

Looks good the room was clean and nice. The staff could be a little nicer, the lady at the desk seemed snippy and forgot to give my ID back I had to collect it in the morning. Other than that it was a nice stay, would’ve been better if it was pet friendly so we could bring our dog.
