Hotel staff were very nice. The pool was shut down for construction and we weren’t aware of this until after paying and getting to the property. That’s the main reason we come is for the pool and beach access. Overall decent hotel.

this was a last minute plan by my husband . we got a room late saturday night to wake up to the beautiful beach off of our balcony . unfortunately we have a 1 year old so i was happy they had a pool and served breakfast . the room was pricey but for a nice hot meal and everything it was worth it . when i received the email after purchasing the room it had no say so of the pool being down and no served breakfast . yes i seen it was under serious construction but no where did it say everything was down . also i am a house keeper for residential commercial and construction and our room was disgusting . really wish to have had a better stay

The bathroom was disgusting. Looked like blood and dried urine on the floor. No weatherstripping around outer door so you could see daylight and hear all of the traffic. Very dim lighting ..maybe so you couldn’t see how dirty it was

Advertised breakfast but sign up in office said they no longer had the breakfast. Doing construction and started work at 8:00 am. Couldn’t sleep. No coffee pot in room and no coffee in lobby. Doors were hard to open and sliced my finger trying to close the door. Room smelled of dog pee. I would not have stayed if I didn’t prepay on the app. Men on crane right outside our window and able to see in. Very disappointed.

Awful! Don't waste your money, through this site

Building is under construction. No breakfast as advertised. No coffee. We paid for an ocen view, but have a view of parking lot. Black out curtains don't block sunlight. Dirty, noisy, uncomfortable. Not the fun, relaxing family weekend we promised our kids. Also, the hotel.com price was way over what the hotel would've charged. Waste of money &time!

RUN!!!
This place is not at all as described!
Most rooms are open- meaning no windows or doors!
There is NO breakfast as mentioned or even coffee!!!
The carpets are frightening and the odors...well that’s a whole other situation I don’t want to describe.
Booked an hour out for 2 rooms w my beloved grandchildren after traveling 23 hours from Michigan.. the ONLY redeeming feature were thank GOD the beds were new... this was definitely NOT worth the price... Enraged by the audacity to rent these rooms! RUN!!! Stay in your car! I wish we would’ve! 😡

Under going renovations so nothing was available bathroom in my hotel room was moldy, the front desk manager however was very accommodating and waved a resort fee because of this and was upfront about the fact they were undergoing renovations to the property. I feel that Orbitz should not be marketing these kinds of hotels because people from out of town have no way of knowing beforehand.

Do not stay here!!!

When we arrived we were told unexpectedly that the hotel is under renovation. Pool was closed, no breakfast available and only a handful of rooms in the hotel were in use. The remaining rooms (bulk of the hotel) were gutted and the place looked like a slum. We decided to make the best of it, but the room condition was horrible. Clearly barely cleaned or tended to and very dated. I can handled \"dated\" if it is kept up - and it wasn't. It was a terrible stay and it cost us almost 1000$ for 3 nights. If it hadn't been Daytona 500 race weekend we would have certainly demanded a refund and stayed elsewhere. Sadly for that weekend there are virtually no vacancies in Dayton and we had travelled 1600 miles to be there. The customer service was very lack luster and no one even asked about our stay. There was construction debris everywhere and overall the place was awful.

This hotel is going through MAJOR Renovations. Be aware hotel is not as shown or advertised and yet they charge full price and don't tell you any of this till you walk through the doors and see they are in a mess. It's a little too late to find another booking at that point.

Goodbye to a great place

Was always my favorite but being remodeled into a plush resort. Now it will be out of my budget. Gone is the good breakfast and area is torn apart. Very few guests. No coffee on site. It is the end of an era for me. Like the $3 charge to park on the beach. The staff as always are polite, professional and personal. Especially Rhonda who was always most helpful. It was so bad I checked out a day early and the cost of one night not used was my goodbye. I will miss the old place.

Being on the beach was the ONLY good thing. Key card did not work; toilet so loose it felt like it was going to fall over; chicken bones on bathroom floor; place was very run down; carpet wet. When we first arrived we noticed right away the place was in the middle of a remodel. The check-in process was good and staff was friendly. We got to the room and it was disgusting. The floor was incredibly dirty. There was food and other things on the floor from a previous guest. It took the hotel about a day and a half to get it vacuumed up. We went and actually bought house shoes from Wal-Mart due to the floors being so dirty. There is no telling if the bed sheets had been changed before our arrival. The bed sheets were old and had stains on them. The sheets were also not changed during our entire stay. The faucet in the kitchenette did not work for the first 2 days of our stay. Early in the morning contractors worked on rooms directly next to us throughout the day. The ceiling in the bathroom began to leak water onto the toilet area at one point and maintenance had to be called. The leak stopped but the source of it was not found. The breakfast was mediocre and was the same thing every morning . The only good thing about this place was the location. There is a staircase directly to the beach.

The only good thing about this hotel is the ocean view. The staff (checkin, cleaning crew, and maintenance) were great but the manager leaves alot to be desired. Despite booking a room with a kitchen, none were available and the manager wouldn't take responsibility instead blaming Hotels.com/Expedia for the mistake. The hotel is under renovation but they are nowhere near finished so be prepared for alot of noise by 8am. If you really want to enjoy your vacation, stay somewhere else. There are alot of choices along the shore.

Staff at check inn was great but the room was in bad conditions. First at all the AC was not working at all, maintenance came to the room three times and I was there so not very comfortable (they should have change me of room). I pay for ocean view but in reality was not that (half of it was parking the other half a palm tree that it was just in front of my balcony). The door of the balcony I could barely open it, it was very hard and in a moment did not open at all so I stop trying. The hotel was in construction I understand that but at least they should warn you or low a little the prices. Breakfast was very poor and the person who was in charge of the breakfast very rude, you can tell that was not very happy there, trowing away things in a bad mood (maybe was not a good day at all, I don’t know). The room was clean.
For $15 more I could have stay in Holiday Inn which are way better but I wanted to give it a try to this one, not worthy at all. I hope in the future they get better but not staying there again.

The hotel renovations have potential so I was trying to stay open minded. Upon arriving our door keys did not work (no biggie) and we found a blood stained towel hung up in the bathroom. Still stayed for the view! Beautiful. In the morning we had no blackout shades and the refrigerator broke overnight and ruined all of our food. They could do better.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to enjoy your vacation, This place is beyond nasty!!!! They are also under heavy construction that will wake you up every morning. This place look like a crack motel and run down. They do not clean the rooms, hair on floor, in bed in shower, stained sheets that clearly has not been changed, mold in bathrooms, fixtures falling off, nasty dirty stove and freezer. They will not refund any money so don’t make the mistake and ruin your vacation, STAY AWAY!!!

When i booked the hotel there was no indication of it being under construction
Also free breakfast but everytime i asked for something they were out all week long...some breakfast...all they had was eggs and sausage...wish there was a bigger choice

Nasty rooms and very dirty property. Rooms stink and breakfast was nasty and the guy cooking was using an old duty pan to serve it. They are remodeling the hotel but they gave a room that is older than my grandma I ask for a different room and they gave me a two bed when I originally had a king bed. Not very happy at all. Then the guy at the desk told me that he was gonna tell management that I was leaving and that’s why he gave a different room so that I don’t get charge for it, really? So I would recommend that they close the hotel until they are done with remodeling it.

Room was clean and comfortable. Nice oceanfront view. Hotel is under construction, that said, don’t expect a luxury view around the surroundings. Asked the front desk for a late check out since they offer it up until 6pm (with extra fees) to attend an annual NASCAR special event that got cancelled due to inclement weather and I was traveling with my dog, didn’t allowed me to unless I pay for another night, by the way, it was a very expensive rate for the hotel overall conditions. I paid that amount for a state-of-the-art full apartment oceanfront in Miami Beach. Just look twice before you book.

The room service was terrible . I don't advice anyone who has any medical conditions to go because only one elevator is available, but it doesn't work..you have to go up the stairs. Also the lady receptionist at night time is absolutely rude and hateful. None of the vending machines work either. The hotel is also under construction right now. I told the room service staff about them not cleaning or making my bed the first time and she began to raise her voice as I was speaking softly and nicely. The room key also had to be changed like 5 times and at one point the whole door knob. Dogs have no place to use the restroom either. I have never wrote a review before but I advice people to not reserve this hotel as you will be highly dissapointed . Everything is just dirty and it isn't worth your money. I wish I would of known all this beforehand.

The staff during the night shift was extremely rude. I came to the front to ask for more cups and the lady at the front threw them in the counter. Not sure why work in a field were the customer service skills are essential and she definitely did not have any . Although the hotel is under construction, the part of the hotel we stayed at wasn’t and there were many broken stairs. It was very scary to stay there. Not to mention the food, some was over cooked and the rest was raw. My family and I will never come here again.

The property is in really bad shape. The carpet in the room was dirty and dingy. The smell in the room was very bad also. The ceiling outside on the balcony had severe water damage and was down to the steel bars in the concrete showing. The ceiling in the bathroom over the toilet started leaking water. When they “fixed” it they put a wash cloth in the hole and covered it with duct tape. The duct tape fell off leaving the hole and wash cloth exposed.

The building outside made me want to change my mind under construction, lobby bathroom horrible. Hallway had water on ground sip hazard. The room wasn’t bad cleaner in room versus everything else with the exception of noodles under bed on floor from previous person. Very overpriced for wheat I got. Breakfast need improvement. When checking in staff was fast and nice but she didn’t inform me that breakfast was still available I had to call to make sure. There was a gnats hanging around room door and couple got in the room.

This is our second time staying at the Daytona Beach Shores Hotel. The room set up works out perfectly for me and my two kids, with two queen beds and one king bed. Of course the hotel is dated but has always been super clean. I only had two complaints this year. I wish that I would've known ahead of time that they were renovating the property. One thing that made the trip easier was the fact that they had on site laundry. Well that was gone this year due to renovations. We would've brought way more clothes if we had known. The second thing is the resort fee ??????? Could someone tell me what the hell this is??? I wasn't charged this last year at the same hotel????? Overall our stay was very enjoyable.

This property was hazardous as they were doing construction with no caution tape and guests had to walk through hallways with broken debris and nails and other sharp dangerous equipment. All amenities such as washer and dryer were broken or missing. There was one working elevator that the construction workers were sharing to bring equipment up and down so it took 20 minutes just to get on sometimes. Location was good- but otherwise it was just a basic room with poor conditions.

Can’t complain too much!

The stay overall was good. Comfy beds, good view, the only downside was that our fridge didn’t work and we didn’t realize that until we noticed our fruit and everything was spoiled. We didnt complain because we didn’t think it would be fixed so we just dealt with it. Overall good stay though, I would come back.

Our Stay in May/June 2019

The hotel is older than expected but clean. The rug in the room was very worn but the room was clean. When the desk was called about a maintenance issue, it was not communicated to anyone. Over an hour passed and when we called the front desk again, we were informed that maintenance was gone for the day and no one was available to help. The breakfast offered leaves alot to be desired. We had to have breakfast elsewhere. Only one of the two elevators was in working order and the one working elevator was very small. Long wait times for the working elevator. Will not be choosing this hotel again.

On arrival from car park there was a strong smell of drugs being smoked from balconies. The corridor to the room and the room was dirty, poorly decorated and damp. The door to the balcony was almost dropping off. As it was late we could not find anywhere else to stay, so reluctantly stayed one night before checking out and moving to a nicer hotel for the remaining 12 nights

WORST 2 HOURS OF OUR LIVES! AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Worst 2 hours of our lives! If you are looking for a refugee camp experience (clothes and towels hanging from balconies, errant toddlers, door slamming,etc), then this is the place for you! If you are also interested in what it is like to stay at a daycare (non-stop screaming for hours), this is for you!

Where to begin:
-Parking is an absolute nightmare and will test your driving/2 pt turn, skills. Plus many of the limited spots were taken by beach goers not people even staying here.
-This place is covered in bugs in and out. The entire walls and door were covered when we got to our room. Yes, I know it's Florida we live here but geez hang some zappers or god forbid hire a service to cut down on the infestation. We could not open our rusty 'parking lot/pool/ocean front door' because of the bugs.
-The front desk lady as many stated is yes very rude and just shoved paperwork at me without a glance. Rhonda was very nice but the other lady not so much.
-Room was relatively clean but the carpet was beyond stained and smelly. No coffee maker in an efficiency room?!
-There is no food, bar, or any sort of amenities here.
-After an hour of non-stop screaming from the pool, I called the front desk to see if we could change rooms or if they do something to curb the noise at 8pm. No on both fronts.

Needless to say I called Hotels.com demanded a refund and we left. Just an uncomfortable, miserable place. Glad to hear Hilton has taken it over and will clean house!

The view from our ocean front room was incredible. The pillows on the bed were too small and not supportive to my head. They were cheap materials. The bed was bumpy and not a brand name . The paint in the hotel throughout needs touched up. The doors to your rooms need replaced they are old and need a new paint job. The stair wells smelled like kimchi was dropped on the floor and chips were lying on the floor bases. This property needs major renovations and elevator sounded like it was going to collapse at any time. It is located in a great location but needs to be either torn down and build a new hotel or gut out and replace rooms and such in sections. The tiki bar in the corner of the property that just sits there for show. Utillize it as a bar and hold socials there . Maximize its potential to the property. Otherwise it is dead weight. Such potential for this property that has been allowed to become a dilapidated fixture on this beautiful beach. Nautilus inn has a beautiful lobby and rooms are nice as well . You should take a look at this property and see what is possible for your hotel.
