Truly the most beautiful beach we saw during our entire time on the island. This private island is absolutely gorgeous. The beach alone makes it worth the visit.
The rooms could use some updating, and the food felt more like filler food than anything memorable. That said, the drinks kept coming and the beach was easily the best we experienced anywhere on the island.

If you want to avoid crowds and simply enjoy a stunning beach in a peaceful setting, this resort is a great choice.

Unfortunately, you will need to wait for them to rebuild. The resort actually burned to the ground the same day we checked out. Quite a shocking end to an otherwise beautiful stay.

Ok this is tough because this property was in the middle of construction to make it more updated so I don’t think it would be fair to rate them because those guys worked day and night to update the front area then. I do think this place is a hidden gem for anyone who wants a quiet getaway with a decent beach. We spent a lot of time on the beach and absolutely loved it. The room although outdated were always clean and bug free. Even if it was a far outdated property because it was literally one of the first ever built on that island, I would still stay here again. The food and drinks were t anything special but I was more interested in the beach and finding things to do on Roatan. We were pretty much the only English speaking people there for the whole week but we managed just fine. If you are picky and enjoy a decent beach this is the place to go. I give them two thumbs up for trying to accommodate people while they are updating because it can’t be easy to do. I’m glad I took a chance and booked this place even if it wasn’t the high end classy place like we are used to. It was perfect for our needs.

Beach area was beautiful!! Rooms were very run down and needed some serious updating. We were there during the fire and received little to no help. Very disappointed with management through the whole process. Went back after and the things that were left behind were taken and we were told by staff that all rooms were empty. They don't take good care of their customers.

Not the greatest experience. No hot water in the rooms and they are quite dated. They have no dive instructor onsite, so my husband couldn’t complete his certification dives for his Open Water Course even though we were told when we booked that they could (they do have a dive master than can take certified divers diving).
The food was just ok, it was often cold and not much selection. Do not forget to bring mosquito repellent, there are thousands of them and you will get eaten alive, especially in the lobby/bar area. We ended up having to move to a different hotel so my husband could do his diving, and the manager told us they would refund us for the remainder of our stay, but they have refused to pay now. Very disappointing overall experience.

Yes the bathroom toilet kept getting clogged . The water was cold . The room smells like meldew. The paint was chipped. The shower has no soap dish .it was one of the worse resort we stayed in. The only good thing was Ingrid and the rest of the staff . The food was always cold and not to mention it was the same food every day. The entire resort smelled of cat or meldew. The shop at the resort really didn't accommodate necessary items like cutips etc

This was a complete disappointment. I was so sad by the condition of the resort. The owner should close it to the public and get it in the condition it should be in. The road was horrible, the entrance smells strongly of sewage. The food was okay. So hard to get most of the staff to smile. I ended up woth 59 mosquito bites. The rooms were neglected. The bathroom fixtures were rusty. Just dont go.

If you want to ruin your Caribbean vacation and feel really disgusting, go there. Otherwise STAY AWAY from this place. All things there that are offered are not as they have to be, in the bad sense. Once upon a time a large good resort, it is faded away to the state of all-wrong. To be specific, this is what I personally didn't like: -almost destroyed last mile road to the properly, - large stinky pot holes at the hotel entrance that fill the whole lobby with rotten smell round o'clock, - tons of mosquitos in the lobby and in room, - shabby rooms with a lack of basic things, like hangers, soap holders, etc. -if you want a hair dryer, you have to leave them your id, yes, not just show but leave for the exchange, -their food is super boring, a lot of margarine used, all meat is over-fried to be just dry and not testy, and it is mostly pork and chicken all the time, seafood = tilapia always, - despite promised restaurants and bars, only one of each was open, - cocktails in their bar are made incorrectly and are not even close to what they should be. The only positive impression is their beach. We booked for a week, but got upset VERY MUCH and escaped 3 days before the end of the planned stay. They DID NOT return us money back!

The driveway getting up into the resort was horrific. I thought I was gonna sync my car. At check-in, no one could speak English.. The room was definitely not up apart way below average… and the food was way below average…. The only place I could get a Wi-Fi signal is in the reception area… however the beach was awesome. I guess that’s the silver lining…. The resort needs a. LOT OF WORK

The room was in in of some tlc; wobbly toilet, mold on ceiling, door very hard to close, had to reactivate my door key 4 times in 2 weeks, etc
Even the newly renovated bathrooms in the lobby had doors that did not close easily
Staff seem to need more training on information to provide
Food was generally ok, but what should be crispy was not because of the warming pans. Also usually too salty. “Salad” section was always the same: iceberg lettuce, shedded carrot, sliced tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers…and one mix of chopped onion, tomato and cucumber
Cleaning was good, in room, public spaces and the beach
Generally, I was expecting more for the price.

El cuarto no estaba en tan buenas condiciones lucia como que lo construyeron y no lo terminaron ,no se ve acogedor ,el baño no tenía ni donde poner el jabón o el shampoo,acepto que si lo limpiaban bien pero igual no se veía bien con las imperfecciones de construcción especialmente en el baño .
La música en la playa Reguetón a toda hora una playa tan hermosa deberían de poner música para todos más teniendo clientes extranjeros y más para descansar,en la noche sería diferente,los chicos hacen lo que pueden para entretener a los huéspedes.
La comida estaba bien y la playa preciosa solo que cuando una nada ve mucha basura por dentro como plásticos,:(
Lo otro llegan unos jet ski y estábamos en el kajack y empezaron a dar vueltas casi nos tumban estoy de acuerdo que sean clientes pero que tengan cuidado en la playa con los que están en el agua .
En fin la playa lo merece todo el lugar es maravilloso para aprovecharlo le deseo suerte con las reformas que le están haciendo en general

Resort is on a great chunk of the best land in Honduras. They are trying to renovate it but it’ll take some time to bring it up to anything but a three star resort

The people at the front desk were NOT friendly at all. We did not feel welcome from the first day which is a shame.
However, I want to mention ALEXANDRO, he was the only one who helped us in everyway he could. He was very kind to us and always willing to help.
About the food. there were'nt too many options , most of them were pork. (we dont eat pork) Unfortunately the weather did not help. It rained a lot.
Overall. I give it 3 starts. beacuse the bach is beautiful.
I hope they train the front desk staff so that guests feel like coming back. For now, we will not be returning.

Fantasy island is not a Fantasy. Our room had no hot water. Our beds were sinked in, very old. They do not give you a blanket you get a sheet instead. They are re-constructing the main entrance, and it's messy. The location is old and needs big improvement. It wasn't a Fantasy at all. The employees are not trained, they look dazed out and not focus. They do not know how to client service at all. I wouldn't come back or bring anyone that knows about quality, and client experience. They have lots of potential but need 200% improvements. Lastly the food was okay, and drinks are your cheap happy drinks.

The room was near the beach but the resort is in poor condition. The toilet didn’t flush. Some areas of the resort smells. The property is old there was holes in the door of my hotel and mosquitoes was in there all the time. I couldn’t sleep because of the construction early morning next to my room and the staff at the front desk is not friendly. I wouldn’t return.

Deceptive Advertising and Zero Customer Support

Fantasy Island Resort is grossly misrepresented online. The photos on the website are deceptive and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. The roads are in poor shape, the surroundings are unattractive, and there was a strong, unpleasant odor upon arrival that made the location feel unclean and unwelcoming.

Customer service was completely unhelpful. We immediately raised our concerns and requested a refund, which was flatly refused without any effort to resolve the situation. Because the conditions were unacceptable, we chose not to stay and left after 30 minutes.

This was a waste of money and time. The lack of honesty in advertising and refusal to take responsibility is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid booking this resort.

I didn't receive help to cancel for Fantasy Island staff either Expedia, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, just waste my money.

No shuttle showed up at the airport to pick us up upon arrival.When we called we were informed we would have to pay $15 US per person and they asked if we even had reservations.(There were four of us for two weeks in two rooms) We grabbed a cab instead that cost us half of the price .Upon arrival, the whole front entrance was under construction and not very easy to maneuver to get into or find the front desk.We were not greeted in a friendly manner informed our rooms would not be close to each other, which was OK, but we assumed there would be phones in the room so we could connect No phones. One of our rooms contained only a bed. No table , no chairs inside or on the balcony. The air-conditioning occasionally did not work, The electrical wires were all crossed so you never knew what was going to come on when you turned on a switch. The variety of food awful and we are NOT picky eaters, We purchased our own pancake syrup so we could at least have syrup with our pancakes or French toast in the mornings.
The smell of sewage was unbearable. We had no hot water and were told they were “working on it”. There was no swim up bar It was a nasty construction zone.

The property was dirty, there was trash everywhere when exploring the island. There were broken pieces of our patio laying on the ground. There was tons of trash in the bushes right outside our patio. There was construction going on from 7am-midnight (but I’m pretty sure they worked throughout the entirety of the night). When it was raining so much from the hurricane, we stayed in our room as there wasn’t much else to do on the resort, other than outdoor activities, we literally listened to power tools and hammering ALL DAY AND NIGHT! I went on vacation to relax not be overstimulated by all the noises of construction. There was no hint at all that construction would be going on. Especially right above our room the whole time. The food and drinks made both of us sick. I was sick the whole time. I found a cockroach in our bathroom when I was l puking. We decided 3 days in to end our 7 day stay and we relocated to a different resort in Roatan where we had a MUCH better experience. The little gift shop wasn’t open during all of the hours it said it would be so we had to pay extra money to get a ride to a gas station so I could find some relief from being so severely sick the entire stay there. I puked starting from the first meal I had there and still I am dealing with the repercussions from whatever made me sick there. Currently sitting in the doctors office back home to get down to the bottom of it. I was LESS than impressed to say the least. I will never again stay there.

This place is so run down. We checked in and within two hours we checked out. This may have been nice in the 80’s and 90’s but now it is a very run down mess. The flies and bugs are everywhere. Our room was so hot and the air conditioning was limited. They didn’t answer any messages about picking us up at the airport and the staff all the way up to the assistant manager were unkind and unhelpful.

Visited this place late August 2025. The beach is absolutely beautiful, the entertainment team was great. The rooms need some updating, food variety needs improvement and i was not happy that they did not have any local beer at the bar. My children liked the buffets and unlimited drinks. I liked the price. But it is designed for huge crowds, and that makes it very hard to keep clean in the shared areas. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, and transportation to other sites was expensive. The staff were nice and helpful. There is a bit of wear and tear. For example, the billiards tables are in bad shape, as are the cue sticks. But overall, it was a good deal, given that meals were included. We are undecided as to whether or not we will go back.

The best about this hotel is the private beaches, so beautiful and quite. I loved the entertaiment program they have during the day and night. The entertainment personnel are super friendly.
The rooms are spacious and very clean.
What I did not like: the entrance and lobby are dirty and old. It gives a bad impresion when you arrive. Recepcion does not give enough details about the hotel, activities or ways to get around. The food was cold and taisteless sometimes. There was not wifi service in the room and most parts of the hotel only near the bar and swim pool aerea.

From the beginning there was a total confusion, the shuttle did not have enough space for us, my mom which cannot walk well had to wait standing for a long time to sit in the shuttle, at the time of check in, not organized, we personally had to fill out the paperwork, I paid for the shuttle and there was no change, I left and no one gave me my change, the beach, view and premises are beautiful and the buffet is delicious, but the staff needs training, I would not go back.

I have to sadly say, this easily took the top spot on worst resort I've been to as it is very old in beat up condition, food was so so, i was serving myself, and the staff were hit or miss. I am from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. My family and I spent three days at Fantasy Island, it was an in budget family trip with buffet food and secluded beach area. The dishes were not spectacular but there was variety for each meal (meet, veggies, rice, fruits, desserts, and drinks etc.) The staff is amazingly helpful and kind, constantly taking care of the cleanliness of the beach. Bartenders are available until late hours preparing and serving drinks to all guest with smile. As a suggestion, they should improve the frequency of their housekeeping services.
Otherwise, we had a great time and memories to share after our visit at Fantasy Island in Roatán, Honduras.

The food was the best part. The rooms are outdated but comfortable, my bed was broken and I noticed black mold on the back of the bathroom door. The A/C in my room would go into fan mode in the middle of the day when it was hot so it kinda forced you out the room. YOU MUST KNOW SPANISH! Only a few ppl spoke english. overall you get what you pay for. The views and quietness makes it great for relaxation.

First - don’t go with any food allergies. I expand on the bottom.

Love - the beach. That’s the most amazing part. You can snorkel past the boat lanes to reef and it was really cool!!

They’re renovating so had construction noise. Maybe check if that’s happening. But it didn’t bother us.

Food allergy - I wrote beforehand and was told I could get a detailed menu for what in the buffet. Perfect. So that was a lie and then I got 3 different answers from 3 people. The chef tried to help but can’t be out at all times - my dairy allergy girl definitely suffered for coming here.

Come with things planned. The front desk didn’t have info for us and the travel planner wasn’t there in the weekends - and so there was no cover.

There was only karaoke for night entertainment most nights. Not or cup of tea so meh. But my kids enjoyed the pool tables and mini golf near the beach was a hit!!

I gave this property a bad rating and not because I got to see it, but because of the reasons I didn't get to go.
I was very much looking forward to this trip and luckily purchased the trip protection. I had a death in my family and needed to cancel. The airline let us cancel immediately, however this property refused to let us cancel so we are jumping through hoops with the trip insurance claim. It was a very poor look for this property. We will be going to Roatan soon but will not book here!

The hotel lost power and did not have a back up plan in place. My family had no AC and the heat was terrible and I was locked out of my room and because they had no power they couldn’t make keys. Food was mediocre, not a lot of options. Pool was dirty. Rooms are not that nice. The only beautiful thing is the beach. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to stay in a better quality place.

Beautiful beach and large swim area. Right on the coral reef for great snorkeling! Large area with many different sections to explore. Able to get away from everyone or be in the middle of all the fun.

This property is the worst I've ever been to. The room was disgusting and dirty. The staff was terrible and the food and service was awful. I will never stay here and I suggest no one stay here. Expedia did a very poor job of helping me with this booking. The pictures you see on expedia and website are not the way it is in person. Its the worst lie of adverstising

The beach is beautiful. The only bad part is that Trey don’t offer laundry services, so if you’re planning on staying for a long time be ready to wash your clothes in the sink

The was awful. I travel with a friend and you are out every day 2 to 4 times a day. Not worth all inclusive. Alcoholic is well drink, we but brought bottles of Don Julio. When we went to another resort for 3 days at infinity bay.

Light out at 11:00. Bar close at 10:00 no nite life at all ....

Don't stay here you will end up spending much more, due to bad food and drinks.

I don't do reviews but feel I need to share. The front desk staff was not very nice as we didn't speak Spanish. The rest of the staff was not much better. The property is very old. The first room they gave us, you couldn't even open the bathroom door all the way because the bed was in the way and the shower door was about to fall off. I would not waste your money on this place!!

This is far from fantasy island …it’s very run down ,not well maintained ,for is horrible,no option for a person who doesn’t eat meat !!! Chef said he only cook for the local which was very troubling and not what was advertised online …the beds where broken bathroom not hot water ,toilet had the wrong seat on there ..rooms was very old and dirty

The resort is not as pristine as the pictures shown in your website. It is falling apart and neglected. This is false advertising!!!! The food was awful and there was no variety all week. The alcoholic drinks had water-downed alcohol. The staff was not friendly at all. The mini golf area is very deteriorated. On the first day, the \"cabin\" we stayed at did not have any hot water or bath towels. The bathroom vanity had broken knobs & doors. One shower head and the shower door were also broken. The store/boutique on the resort did not have any type of souvenirs or snacks we could purchase. The entire week I had to carry our passports & other documents everywhere we went because the safe in the \"cabin\" did not close/work properly. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this resort is that the beach is very clean & beautiful & the air conditioner worked the entire week we were there.

The hotel sells all inclusive resort they don't have wi-fi acces in the rooms,no shampoo, conditioner,lotion offer,the people at front desk are not very helpful o friendly,the people at the restaurants and activities are great but is not enough for what they sell on the website,no hot water in the shower the rooms if the ac is not working,the water is running all day long anyways they tried to do better but is not working the beach the views are amazing 😉 is a shame that they don't have a good management team.

muy precioso lugar para relajarse

todo muy bonito en el hotel la playa para los keles gusta agua del mar sin olas es perfecto solo 2 cosas ke nome parecieron no muy bien esperar hasta las 3.15 para agarrar nuestro cuarto y en el buffet no es tan mal pero podrian mejorar el menu no vimos de los tres dias de estadia camarones la comida si es mas hondureña ke para extranjeros aparte de eso no tenemos kejas muy lindo el lugar claro ke regresaria
