The only good things about this property were the beach access and cold a/c. The room was old and dirty. Beds were terribly uncomfortable. Small scratchy towels provided. Only 2 \"bigger\" ones given. Went to exchange towels on our 2nd day, and they didn't have any clean. Way overpriced for the accommodations provided.

Midcentury motel that’s seen a lot of hurricanes. Changes in travel tastes have left these mom-n-pop operations behind. The room is clean, quiet, and somewhat randomly appointed. If you absolutely need workout facilities or a free breakfast, go to a chain hotel and pay double or triple. If you want an ocean view and easy beach access, stay here. Note that Volusia County too almost all their parking lot—so if you are the sixth or seventh guest, you may have to pay the county fee just to park in front of your room.

The motel was a little older but rooms were clean and comfortable, beautiful location, great pool and beachfront. Easy free parking for guests and lots of restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. It was your pretty standard beach hotel in the winter time. In the summer, you probably don’t notice that it’s not much of a hotel, in the winter, more so, but it was still OK. The only thing was there are no lamps or lights on the bed. I have never been to a hotel or motel that doesn’t have some sort of light by the bed.

However bathroom needed some repair on baseboards and wall under window and lock did not work on bathroom window. I noticed a couple extremely small baby roaches in shower stall. Really a shame because the room with fridge and stove was in very good shape otherwise. Bed was very comfortable. Super nice pool. Great value for a simple motel in excellent location.

I was impressed as i wasn't expecting much. It wasn't perfect but for the price it was good. Kitchen didn't have a spatula and few cooking utensils. The beds were made military style and clean, had recliners. I saw handle was broken on one. I stayed alone but booked for two. There was only one washcloth but i'm sure if i had asked i would've gotten another. The office hours are 09 to 2100. I was checking out at 0600. There is a coffee pot but they don't supply coffee. The manager seems to be good with making sure rules are followed. A person tried to sneak a pet in and was asked to leave. The manager speaks English fluently. I was down for Biketoberfest so i didn't stay at hotel much except last day. It was chilly and windy, the pool despite it wasn't to be open was clean. I noted when there a person did check ph. The view is fantastic. The tv didn't hook to internet but im sure if i went to office it wouldve been taken care of. No it's not perfect for the price, it's fantastic. I'd stay again

Great location, friendly staff, economically price on the positive side. No hot water in shower (but did have hot water in the bathroom and kitchen sinks — go figure??) and the room could use a deep cleaning once in awhile on the negative side. Overall, we will probably stay at Sand Castle again.

There was a group staying there that partied every night until late. One night they were up until 1,00 AM. Their kids running around and screaming like heathens. I spoke with the lady at the front desk and she said they were regular customers. I said that makes it look bad on you for allowing it. I travel to the Daytona Beach area every two months. I've stayed here three different times. Very clean and the staff are very friendly. I usually go to DB every month and try to stay away from the chain motels. This place is very clean. I recently took my one year old grandson over for the weekend. Wasn't concerned about a thing. The staff was extremely nice. I will certainly be back.

I have no complaints at all about this property. It’s beach front. It’s affordable. It’s not a resort so don’t expect that. But we stayed in a room next door to my sister with her 3 kids and we never heard a peep out her or her 3 rambunctious boys. If you’re bougie keep scrolling and searching. If your are looking for a place to stay that’s decent, affordable and serves its purpose…this is it. Even has a cute lil kitchenette. We would stay again. ❤️

What we reserved and what got were two different things. The hotel was old, dirty and not inviting at all. There were no towels in our room, no shampoo or soap. Couldn't find a trashcan. Ended up upgrading from a $90 room which we thought was oceanfront but was just aa standard room way in the front of the hotel attached to the front office. The reception was very nice but in the end we needed to upgrade to an ocean front room that cost us an extra $60 that we did not originally plan on spending but felt that we had no alternative because the room we would of had to sleep in was not acceptable. We were very upset and probably will not use Hotel.com again since they are not honest.

It's a old model hotel but I love it it's like staying at my grandmother's house but it's clean it's not dirty no bugs no hair everywhere clean sheets clean towels bed is wonderful it is really thick and fluffy and comfortable and they also have recliner chairs in the room not just the chairs that you sit in it's like a studio apartment it's legit like a studio apartment and I love the scenery I love how they set this hotel up. Also there's no smells at all I know some people may complain cuz when we was checking out there was a man that was complaining about his room so I guess it's some that's cleaning some that's may not be but the one I stayed in was clean from the door to the back of the room it was clean I inspect every room I stay in sheets and all mattress at all and it was clean very quiet no noise just the sound of the waves

The property was situated on the beach and had convenient walkable access to a popular pier restaurant. However, during our visit, there were many smokers on the property, especially around the pool deck. Although the room I booked was smoke-free, the smell of smoke was unavoidable in common areas.
