We stayed 3 nights at sea shells, then stayed 1 night at hard rock before returning to sea shells to end our trip- boy am I glad we ended it there. It was on such a high note. Clean rooms done with care. I've worked in hotels, so I am PICKY when it comes to my rooms. The room is cooler temperature wise than hard rock, no limit to how cool you want your room (we are from TN, we wanted me be CHILLY upon returning inside from the Florida heat). The employees working on site were so friendly and had that southern hospitality we are used to. Kitchen is stocked with whatever you need- blender included. Oh, and we can't forget the view. Holy cow. Couldn't beat it. We literally got the the beach within 2 minutes and could open our balcony door and listen to the ocean while we ate. Not a fan of Daytona by any means, but if I have to be there, I'd want to be at Sea Shells. Thank you!!!

Stayed 2 nights. Clean comfortable room. Bed good, A/C good, pool good, beachfront. Location good as plenty of bars restaurants within 15 minute walk. The price was right. Only concern I had was, no guaranteed parking, every spot was filled, so I didn’t leave as I didn’t want to loose my spot. Parking is first come first serve. Therefore, suggest getting there right at check-in time if you’re driving.

My family and I recently stayed at this resort, and while the property itself was nice, our experience with the front desk was disappointing.
The gentleman working at the front desk was not welcoming and came across as rude and dismissive throughout our stay. One interaction that stood out was at around 8:00 a.m. on the morning of checkout. As I was simply stepping outside, he immediately reminded me that checkout was at 11:00 a.m., even though I was well aware and had given no indication that I planned to stay past checkout. It felt unnecessary and made me feel like I was being watched rather than treated as a valued guest.

The photos show amazing beach views and spacious rooms. We ended up in a tiny room across from the elevator with a lot of exterior noise and very little space. There were not enough outlets and the dehumidifier just added to the noise. I wish I had booked a different choice.

They placed me right infant of the elevator. I was not able to sleep one bit. The noise, the talking the sound of the elevator. It was awful. Will definitely not be staying there again.

Perfect for partiers. A nightmare for families.

The location is genuinely good for the price — ocean views from the front, and my kids loved the pool (it's 8 feet deep, which you don't often see). At the price I paid I expected dated. What I didn't expect was to call the police at 3:50 a.m. Let me explain how this place actually works: there's no front desk check in. You find a lockbox, sort through roughly 18 keys to find yours, and let yourself in. No one verifies who's a guest. No one monitors the property. If that sounds like your kind of setup, read no further. This is your spot.

For everyone else: our room faced the pool and the stairwell. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a gathering place for teenagers and young adults looking to party, and absolutely nothing was stopping them. Yelling, fighting, sprinting to cars, music, drinking, pool at full capacity. All of it, all night. At 3:45 a.m. there were still 15 people in the pool with music pumping. My 9 year old twins did not sleep. I did not sleep.

One of our room keys stopped working sometime in the night. There was no staff to call, no one on site, no solution. We had a second key. If we hadn't, I genuinely don't know what we would have done.

If you want a cheap beachside spot with zero oversight and a crowd that knows how to keep a party going until dawn, this is exactly that and it delivers. But if you're traveling with children, or simply need to sleep, skip it entirely.

Parking was limited. Bed/mattress was awful. There was lots of noise from traffic and other guests as we were next to the laundry area and the ice machine. But John was a great guy, room was adequate, location is right on the beach and the pool was nice.

To my surprise it had a kitchenette. The room was clean bed commutable. family friendly/ The price was good I was happy to find it I just wanted to get away and be alone being alone. It was peaceful. the clerk John even new my name.

The room we were originally placed in was not the room we booked; nothing about the room we got matched any pictures in the listing, so beware, you may face this issue as well. However, we brought this to the attention of the host, and they moved us to a different room very quickly. The original room was run down, dirty, had broken appliances, a stained couch, and dark and dingy lighting. The balcony was a single dilapidated door instead of a sliding or double door as pictured. The host blamed Hotels.com for the non-updated pictures and said they have multiple rooms for the same booking. The room they moved us to was cleaner, brighter, and more modern. The newer room was worth the price, but the original was not. The location is good and far enough from the hustle and bustle but not too far to be a long drive. My only complaint would be that the light outside the bedroom is very bright and makes it seem like it is daytime throughout the night. I would suggest getting better curtains to alleviate this.

It is an older hotel, however, it exceeded our expectations! First of all, the elevator was a big plus as we too are older, and just the convenience was quite nice! The layout of the property was quaint, lots of outdoor space to lounge around the pool and in the grassy area beyond the pool there is a nice accessible grill, picnic tables and more lounge chairs to view the beach!

The rooms are quite pleasant, with everything you could possibly need. Stocked with plenty of towels, including towels for the beach. If you need anything more they are quick to help you!! We loved our room and although we were right next to the elevator, we were never disturbed by it!!

The staff were extremely pleasant and always very helpful!! We are already planning our next trip and we will definitely be staying here again!!

The room was a two bedroom suite which had a lot of potential, but needed a deep clean, paint, new appliances and basic repairs. The back doorknobs and locks barely worked and the back porch was filthy. The room also smelled like an ash tray.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property during bike week. We absolutely loved it! We had a problem with our TV and the manager came to our room within minutes and brought us a new one. Beautiful location too, right on the beach. This property will definitely be our go to place to stay for bike week.

Very nice people who run this place and who clean it. The only issue we had was how loud it was. We were more towards the street and could hear every car that went by, raced, honked…but for the price of being on the beach side, we’d come back and likely will for next years Daytona 500. Pool was heated to perfection!

Sea Shells Beach Club is a very old hotel that needs a bit of upkeep. That being said, the manager/owner is working daily to do needed updates and maintenance
We had a 2 bedroom suite on the 4th floor and found very clean, comfortable rooms. It was a great stay. John and the staff helped every time we needed something.
When crowded, parking might be an issue
The location, right on the beach was great! We walked the beach daily and experienced some beautiful sunrises over the water!
