It was perfect stay for young girls. I went with my friend. Safety is also really good and the hostel is located in a hill area. It has such nice view. So so beautiful. The room was very clean and they gave us new and clean bed linens and towels. The bathroom has everything, you just have to bring the toothbrush and toothpaste. They got the soap for you as well. We had the breakfast in the morning and it was so good as well. The shared kitchen is equipped with everything. You have to take the bus or a tram to get in there from the central station but it's worth it. If you buy the 24hrs ticket pass you can travel using tram or bus. And you can use the pass to go around the city. It's a superb place to stay. Very safe, very beautiful, very clean. The staff was very polite as well.

The towels we got were dirty and stained. We could not use them. We took pictures and went to the reception to get new towels. The gentleman refused to give us towels as he wanted proof that the towels were not cleaned by their cleaning contractors. This shocked me. I gave them the original towels and finally got fresh towels.

Great Budget Stay with Beautiful Views – But Plan for Transportation.

I stayed at the HI Oslo Haraldsheim Hostel and had a comfortable and pleasant experience overall. The hostel offers a free breakfast each morning, which is a great way to start the day. There are also snacks and drinks available for purchase in the lobby.

The rooms are clean and come with a sink, while restrooms and showers are located in separate shared spaces. Note that there are stairs to access different floors, so if you have mobility issues, it’s worth requesting a lower bunk or a more accessible room.

One thing to keep in mind: the hostel is located in a residential neighborhood that doesn’t have any food options within walking distance. It’s also a bit far from the city center, so you’ll likely need to take a tram, taxi, or Uber to get around.

On the plus side, the hostel has a large outdoor yard where guests can relax or enjoy a game of yard chess.

Overall, it's a great value if you're comfortable with hostels and are okay with using public transport. I’d definitely stay here again with proper planning.

Staff are very helpful and the grounds are beautiful.
It’s not central, but is good value. Easy access to public transportation.
Kitchen is clean and well equipped and breakfast meal service is good.

I found this property very clean and reasonably comfortable. They had a laundry room which was very handy and a comprehensive buffet breakfast. It was a quiet area and quite away from the city centre, which is an expensive taxi ride too and from. There are local buses and trams which may get you near, if you can work out how to find and interpret the stops etc.

The property is located in a beautiful area right outside of Oslo. It’s clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have an amazing kitchen that has all the equipment and space you need. The rooms are clean as are all the facilities and the laundry is affordable and works!

Good hostel

Great hostel for what it’s worth. Breakfast was included by default, which included a series of breads, meats, and some vegetables and drinks. There is no AC so it can get a bit warm in the summer, and the community bathroom got dirty easily due to a leak in the sink. Otherwise, it was great. Linens and towels were included by default and check in even at 1am was good; the receptionist on the phone instructed me where to go. It’s about a 10 walk down the hill to a tram or bus station, the latter of which has direct lines to/from airport (nearly 1 hour).

Great Experience

My brother and I are backpacking through Europe and we stayed here for 1 night. It was out favorite spot we’ve stayed. Staff were very pleasant and the rooms were very clean. Temperature was nice and they gave us a room to our selves. The breakfast was also a nice addition, nothing over the top fancy but most places like this don’t even do that! If you’re just backpacking through, highly recommend!

It was a great to stay. What you expect from a hostel, with free lunch, you can't complain either. But it is near a main road which you can hear throughout the night and out of town. However, that isn't the hostels fault and public transport in Oslo is brilliant.

Beautiful stay, good breakfast and super helpful receptionists!! Cleanliness and services were perfect! Location is the only setback as you almost have to climb a mini mountain to get to the hostel but once you’re up, it’s worth it all! Overall stay was great!

I turned up with 2 children with additional needs having walked from the city centre. We found that the hostel was closed. My daughter was very distressed. Apparently there was some kind of virus going round. The staff were amazing. They put us up in a disability access block and let us stay the night. I can’t praise the staff enough for their sympathy, support and willingness to look beyond the rules in special circumstances. Thank you again.

Very nice hostel. Small but clean rooms. Shared bathroom was perfectly adequate for a shower and freshen up after a long day of exploring Oslo. Good location but is about a 45 minute walk into the city centre but it is a very pleasant walk with many parks to wander through. If you don't want to walk the public transport is easy to work out and drops you close to the hostel. There is a large area outside perfect for eating or unwinding, or even doing something a little more energetic with a football pitch, basketball hoop and frisbee golf all available.

Though the view looking over the hill is wonderful the location is not so convenient in winter days, especially when everywhere is full of snow since it makes climbing the slope with your luggage difficult. The room is fine generally but I could only find one plug for charging and it was not in a very good condition. Hope they can improve that.

Noisy and ordinary breakfast

I don't know if it was only the students group staying at the same time I was, but it was extremely noisy and the noise went well into the night. You could hear everything going on in the corridors from the room and the activities at night were happening right outside our room (instead of in front of the hostel, were no room faced).

The breakfast was also quite disappointing, with very little choice, bad coffee and diluted orange juice.

Haralsdheim in a private room is great

We stayed in a 'private room' so It was only me and my friend.

We had our own bathroom, we were given towels and bed linens. The room also had a tv, with 1-2 english-speaking channels which show movies most of the evening, so thats pretty cool.

Also the room is supplied with a kettle and some tea and coffee. Free wifi everywhere, although it has weird moments (spontaneous disconnection etc)

The hostel offers breakfast every day, fresh, tasty, moderate choice, I recommend having it every morning.

There is also a communal kitchen, well-equipped if you want to prepare your own dishes. Open till midnight.

There is a huge green area right around the building complex for sports activities. Also a basketball board, ping pong table. The hostel has equipment for some sports (ping-pong, badminton, basketball, football)

Staff were helpful at check-in and out, but we did not really interact with them otherwise. They seemed like nice people anyway.

The overall cleanliness was great. The room was very tidy when we checked-in and also they hoover and empty your bins while you're not home. The breakast and kitchen areas are clean as well to a hostel standard.

The general area of the hostel is about 50-60 mins walk to the central city areas, but there are grocery shops and fast food places 15 mins away as well.

Overall for the price (£110 per person for 3 nights) in such an expensive country, this hostel was a very pleasant experience.

This place isn't a hotel or hotel appartment, in my opinion it was just bed&breakfast.
Because of the very poor quality e.g worn chairs We just slept in the hotel but it wasn't even a comfortable place to sleep. Because all four beds were very old and too much noisy.
During night I couldn't even move in my bed because I was affraid to wake my family up by that noise.
I didn't expect to see such a uncomfortable place when I was looking for a hotel in hotel.com.

The hostel is an OK place to stay for young people and for big groups. However, it lacks most of the things we today take for granted, starting with wifi. Wifi was only available by the reception area, meaning one could not get online from the room or hall upstairs. Furthermore, the women's shower on our floor was out of order - with nobody informing us until we found out ourselves - and there was a note on the door saying to use the shower on the next floor instead. The only problem was that the floor was locked, and we needed to ask for a new key to get in - a key that only worked once before it had to be replaced with another one that didn't work. On the advice of another guest, we found another stairway that lead up to the floor above. At least the showers were generous with both pressure and hot water - the best communal showers in any hostel we've ever been to. The location is quite far from the center of town: 20 min by car or bike and 30-40 min on foot. There's really nothing to do in this area, apart from going running in the park.

'Hotel' misrepresentation

From the website, the 'hotel' looked like a family run establishment. It was a youth hostel! Our 'twin room' was a bunk bed, and we had to hire sheets and towels. Our room was between a communal shower room and communal toilets, so we heard banging doors until late at night. This 'hotel' should not even be on the Hotels.com website. For a gang of 18 year olds, I am sure it would be fine. Positive; breakfast was good.

Don't use the subway your first time (bus instead)

Very good value for the money; the full breakfast is a major godsend given Oslo's food prices. Minor surprise annoyances: staff usually takes away breakfast buffet at 9:30, though we were told it lasted until 10; linens and towels are an extra charge; I had to have my keycard reprogrammed every day to avoid lockout, though I was told repeatedly it would work through the end of my stay; and the walk from the nearest subway stop, though close, had me going around and around lost in circles at least the first two days, which is not soothing when you're walking freeway tunnels after dark.

* Veldig rent, stort og fint rom. Pluss for vannkoker, kaffe, hårføner og stor garderobe med mye plass.
* Stort pluss med gratis parkering.
* Helt grei frokost. Savnet kun eggerøre. Minus for tørt brød.

Zeer grote hostel, goed en praktisch maar ver uit het centrum. Er is wel een goede busverbinding naar het centrum.
Bij het boeken kon ik kiezen voor een kamer met 3, maar bij aankomst kreeg ik een kamer van 6 en bleek het niet mogelijk om een kamer van 3 als dorm te boeken. Ik zou kunnen wisselen naar een kamer van 4, maar de hostel was volzet.
