The hotel is closing to guests in order to take in refugees so not such a smooth operation. Not the fault of staff who were all friendly and helpful. Full marks to Kamman who kept bar open after his shift ended for late revellers.
We were attending a wedding nearby so didn’t require full facilities. Breakfast ok but very busy.

HI WHEN YOU ARIVE IT LOOKS AWFUL.. WE THOUGHT WHAT HAVE WE DONE . SOMEONE WAS CLEANING THE PATHS WITH JET WASH OUTSIDE IT LOOKED A MESS WE COULDNT GET IN THE ENTRANCE. ONCE IN ROUND THE CORNER REALLY LOVELY AND MODERN INSIDE. LOVELY STAFF VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS AND PILLOWS WOULD DEF STAY AGAIN.

It was OK. But my 90-old mother was locked out of her “accessible” room twice by the dumb (“smart”) key system. And we had to waste a huge amount of water waiting for hot water to arrive in the shower. Restaurant food exceeded our low expectations.

Have stayed many times. Accommodation is fine, very clean. The bed was a bit tired, quite hard not as comfortable as we would like, but maybe that just a personal observation. We ate in once, sadly we would not eat in again as the food was expensive and below average. The breakfast was also not as good as it should be. It would be nice to get choice of vegetarian sausage at least. Overall we would choose to stay again because we are familiar with the hotel, its clean and the service is excellent. However, always room for improvement

What a fabulous weekend stay. Everything we needed was there. Comfy bed, nice bathrooom, large tv, tea/coffee, fresh towels. Can't moan at anything in the room. Staff were friendly from the check in to check out. Breakfast was super and always well stocked.
Evening meal was not as good, slightly higher prices than a pub etc. fish was wet and a little
Tasteless and the lasagne was very pleasant but small portion with a tiny portion of rocket and two basic pieces of garlic bread. But hey... it was ok.
We made use of the spa & pool on two occasions which is why we booked this hotel.
All in all... would certainly come again and thoroughly recommend it!

Only thing they got right we us asking for interconnected rooms. Well done.

Paid in advance for breakfast wasn’t booked so had to argue in the morning even when showed the confirmation till had to wait 15 minutes before they reluctantly and I really mean reluctantly they let us in.

Only got time on arrival that the kids club closed why not informed in advance only they know.

Spoken to duty manager the next morning after 2 night stay and was just dismissed and told is there anything else I can do before I check you out.

The hotel is dated and undergoing some renovations- there is no bar or restaurant- a room is being used at the restaurant and a corridor as the bar- the key didn’t work on my door so a massively long walk back to reception with all my bags! I was having a lie in until I had a knock on the door before 9 for room cleaning but surely they would know I haven’t checked out then at 9-30 ish I had the sit on grass mower revving and cutting right outside my window! Cheers- I paid for breakfast but never had it! Shambles!

Few inconsistencies. The website clearly said food was served until 11pm, but we were told at 9:30 the kitchen was closed. We tried to ask about the swimming pool at reception (do you need to book a slot) and we’re told that the hotel knew nothing about the health club. Asked at the health club about treatments and they said that only the hotel knew about that (hotel knew nothing) . But the phone number to book them didn’t work anyway. Breakfast was good though

Very happy, best nights sleep in a hotel.

Very impressed with the hotel - clean rooms, good food, brilliant service and a great price. Yes there's a few chips out of the furniture but thats bound to happen when the rooms are well used. Otherwise no issues.

Especially impressed with the bed and pillows, so comfy I wish I could've taken them home with me! Also the sound proofing was excellent, some places you can hear every person going passed, I heard nothing at all during our stay.

This was my first time staying in a Holiday Inn and I will certainly look to use you again if I need a hotel again.

Good service but few guest following Covid rules

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is was lovely. Unfortunately there seemed to be no regard at all from 90% of the others guests to follow the mask rules and no one was enforcing it. My husband and I couldn’t wait to get out for the breakfast area as it was extremely busy and barely a face mask in sight (apart from the staff who all wore masks). We felt extremely uncomfortable. The hotel was also very expensive for state of the exterior building and the bed was very small.

The room was comfortable. Paper cups for tea and coffee seemed to bring down the feel of the room. Id like to think that was a Covid thing and not a permanent addition.
Lack of a shower curtain was a little awkward although this was rectified after I reported it.
Food was good. I ate main meal in restaurant first night but as i hadnt booked a time for the following evening I ate in the bar area. Little noisy there so if you want a meal in peace make sure you book a time in restaurant.
Parking is ok however just remember to book the vehicle registration at reception as its a pay car park for non hotel guests.
Nice enough stay overall though.

Staff we’re all very friendly and very helpful. Room was very basic and tired. Holiday inn seem to have reduced everything to the very basics and still charge a premium. This is one example of an organisation who is using COVID as an excuse to charge more and reduce the service you get for your money. Breakfast was like going to a food hall at an all inclusive holiday. Queue for everything which took forever. Table service would have been far more convenient and easier. Definitely not a hotel for the Business Traveler.

All the staff were friendly, greeting you as you met them everywhere in the hotel. Only problem is that you have to book slots for breakfast. Only 6.30 or 7.30 left. Food was lovely though. Also great to be able to have a swim. Bookable slots again, only 9am slot available. This worked out fine for us as we had an early breakfast slot. Just be aware if you want breakfast at 10am you may have to compromise a lot and eat at 6.30am instead. Fine for us the staff were so lovely and made you feel special so made up for everything, and some compromise needed because of COVID restrictions.

Everything was spotlessly clean and there was an added bonus of breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast was well thought out; we filled in a form giving our choices and handed into the reception the evening before. We then collected a tray in the morning and took it to our room. Breakfast was 'continental' but was plentiful and included a hot choice (panini/bap).

We have stayed here many times and this was our first during Covid. The staff were fantastic, welcoming and attentive. The hotel felt strange as it was quite empty and the facilities limited which was fine. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a nice meal (albeit served in takeaway cartons). Breakfast however was awful. We had to preorder from a limited menu the night before. It arrived like airplane food on a tray with plastic cutlery and disposable containers, I found this concerning from an environmental viewpoint. The bacon panini’s had been microwaved and were inedible, the waiter was most apologetic and offered us to try the sausage panini but we declined. I do appreciate that these are difficult times and it wouldn’t put us off from returning for another stay when hopefully the usual delicious breakfast is back on the menu!

We booked an executive room and whilst the room itself was fine the temperature in the room was too hot. The air conditioning was not working and although we requested a fan it never arrived. We were on 2nd floor and had to sleep with the window open. This meant we were awakened very early by cars leaving the car park and people chatting in the car park outside our room. Not the restful stay we had anticipated.

Bedding was dirty, chips in the mugs. Shower curtain was ripped and there was little holes in the curtains. Cleaners would just walk in the room barely having knocked first or evening giving you a second to get out of bed, so the following day I put the sign on the door to not disturb me and they still knock on the door. The pool was cold and sauna and steam room was in the changing rooms so as being on a couples holiday we were unable to use them together.

I have stayed often at this hotel and the staff are what makes staying at this hotel a great experience.
The hotel itself is a little run down, for example the carpets, and particularly the gym area. The staff in the gym are not as friendly or helpful and do not clean it enough. Maintenance in the gym area is very poor and one shower has not been working since my last visit 8 months previously.

Firstly, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and main communal areas clean, tidy and updated, nice play area for children.The Bedroom and bathroom were clean, functional but dated, bed was comfy.

Minuses were, Not enough sockets for this modern age,light stains on the carpet and marks on the desk and side tables. And no USB ports. There was a fridge to use which was nice to see but as the seal was damaged it wasn’t that effective.

Breakfast was buffet and gave every choice you could think of, all cooked and delivered very well, one of the best breakfast we’ve had, a very good chef.

The was only one real minus for us and that was the adjoining leisure facilities, Spirit.
The access to it from outside is a health and safety nightmare, uneven paths, broken slabs, very run down and that impression continued inside. 3 ladies showers, 1 that was scolding hot, another hot and 3rd just right. In the mens the showers were cold. The jacuzzi was a joke, roughly 10mins on 10 mins off, no way of changing this but when it was on it barely caused a bubble and kept turning itself off,on,off etc..was informed pool was cold we left after 10mins. Hopefully this area will have some money spent on it soon as it is definitely the worse Spirit facility We have been to.
Overall a pleasant stay, have read replies from staff saying an update for Hotel is on the horizon, will look forward to coming back when that’s completed.

Very well placed for motorway links yet very peaceful. Good sized room well equipped and comfortable clean and well functioning bathroom. Good parking facilities. Breakfast facilities good lots of choice. Excellent value for money.

Pleased with our one night stay generally. We booked a standard room. It was a bit tied but clean. Our main problem was that the room was so warm, only one of the windows would open and the air con didn’t do its job as centrally controlled. Nice breakfast. Very pleasant staff.
