The staff were all great and the food in the restaurant was also very good. The menu was a bit limited, but everything we had was very good. The exterior of the building was nice as were the grounds. But for 300 pounds a night the room really needs work. We were in room 11, there was a 1.5inch hole in the drywall, and one wall had been so marked up by suitcases it looked like a child had colored on it. The water pressure in the shower was non existent. The chairs in the sitting room were also in rough shape and need to be restrapped. Just a total lack of basic maintenence, and thats unfortunate since this could be an amazing place.

The Perfect Place to Stay Near Inverness
We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Our 2 BR room was very roomy and cozy, a beautiful 1-minute walk from the main building. The breakfasts were outstanding and the dinners even better. But the best thing about the Loch Ness Country House is the staff. They were exceptionally warm, charming and helpful. . . including when we unexpectedly had to cut our stay by one night. They would have been perfectly entitled to charge us for the night given that we were only able to give them 24 hour notice, but they didn't. We can't wait to come back to Scotland, and when we do, the Loch Ness Country House will definitely be on our itinerary!

This is a stunning historic well preserved Charles Rennie MacIntosh designed lodge. The owners has done a wonderful job of restoring and maintaining the original house and the grounds are lovely. Very hikable too! The restaurant was suburb as well. Finally, the host, Thomas was so delightful. One of the best small inns I've stayed at in my days. Go for the historic house when you book your room. I did not see rooms in the auxiliary buildings, but the main house is stunning.

What an absolutely charming and amazing place. Everything was perfect. The hotel manager and all of the staff were so gracious, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. This is a real gem. We actually tried to extend our stay even though we would have been unable to cancel our next nights accommodations at a different hotel and would have had to eat the cost of that other room. We truly did not want to leave but unfortunately they were all booked up. Would definitely return.

This was a lovely place to stay. Our only complaint was the water in our room. Our shower regularly stopped working. We had to call the front desk and they would fix it but it was inconvenient.

When we arrived the staff at the front desk immediately checked us in and went out to the parking lot to help us with our bags. Our room was roomy. The bathroom was more like an unimproved old 1960's bathroom. Everything worked but was old. Dinner was excellent and the service prompt and friendly. Being far from road traffic we slept quite well.
The location outside of Inverness was an asset on our passage to Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness since we did not need to deal with that mostly industrial city. And lastly the grounds were beautiful and relaxing.

This is a beautiful property in an old hunting lodge built in 1710. Our room was spectacular with stunning views of the garden. The bar lounge area with fireplace was a delightful retreat at the end of the day and the delicious breakfast was a welcome start. Our two-night stay here was wonderful!

Lovely setting. Hotel has a lot of things going for it , however the plumbing needs attention. In both our rooms it was very difficult to get hot water to the wash basin. The menu stayed the same on both nights. They need to at least put a different special main course on each night. Food however was very good. Staff were excellent.

The property is stunning and in a great location with lovely gardens and fantastic staff. However the room was in slightly poor condition with black mould around the bath, sink and shower screen. The carpet had holes in it, the radiator paint was full of chips and one of the blackout blinds was missing leaving just the roller tube and cord. When we mentioned this to the staff we were told that they hadn’t kept up with maintenance on that wing as it was due for refurbishment. I find that disappointing as if you allow guests to stay in these rooms then they should definitely be maintained.
