I was very nervous and didnt sleep as neither door locked. The balcony door had no key and the hall doorway seemed to have no lock?

Otherwise the gentleman on reception was incredibly helpful and charming. clean room and great location. Let me keep my car there during the day, so very grateful. Only down side was lack of sleep because of having no key to secure my room from the balcony

We were caught in the extreme rain and flooding in Auckland. Our original hotel was flooded. I used Expedia to find Off Broadway Motel as a same day alternative. Even though the motel also had some water damage it had rooms above the flood. We walked to the local shopping center and had a delicious dinner that evening. After a good night's sleep we checked out of the motel and went to wait at the airport. Very grateful that we had a place for that night.

The service at this motel was exceptional. Nisal was wonderful in helping my elderly aunt and uncle through their stay during the airport disruption. He made them comfortable and at ease, and his help went way beyond what would normally be expected. We are so grateful to the Off Broadway management.

Used Off Broadway as a base while our son was in Mercy Hospital for an operation. Convenient location and the free parking were a god send. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room although dated was great. Only issue was the awful pillows.

Would have been a great stay if TV was working (3 nights without tv made it a long stay)! Management had no replacement tv, and no idea when repairs to tv would be made. Happy to stay again when all amenities are available. Good room service.

We were happy the manager could check us in before noon, with no warning from us. Our room was very clean, very good fixtures and a comfy bed. The only concern we have is with security. The front door is propped open and it seemed to us that non-guests were wandering the hallways.

POSITIVES: Although previous reviews are not so good. We had a good night. Stayed there fir the All Black game. Staff was helpful when directing us to tge train station and was very informative. Gave warning that it may be noisey later at night that was good. Beds were clean and comfortable. Good location for our purpose. Was suprisingly quiet at night. We did enjoy our stay.
NEGATIVES: The fan in the bathroom was noisey as if it was going to blow up. Air con heater was not working. Elevator needs cleaning fingerprint marks on everywhere and bugs in the lights. Maintanence needs attending to.

Hotel close to everything

Nice hotel comfy beds. Stayed in a large studio which was spacious for my daughter and I. Needed our tickets to the rugby printed out, It was no trouble for the staff to print out, no problem at all.
Free parking and free WiFi which worked really well.
The tv stations didn't match up to what was listed on the form, not great reception on some channels but it didn't matter too much.
Bathroom needs a bit of an update.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Great area, comfortable room which was clean but smelt really strongly of cigarette smoke when I checked in. Would recommend having specified rooms for smokers and stipulating non smoking in other rooms.
Also the toilet paper roll holder was broken and bathroom skink cracked and dirty looking which would be simple things to fix. Staff were polite and friendly. Overall would give them 7/10.

Rooms need a lot of up grading or tidying up

Although the toilet had a seal across it indicating that it had been cleaned there was a surprise on lifting the lid. The TV had sky but only a couple of channels where clear the rest were very static. There was a very bright light outside our window that no amount blind adjusting seem to be able to block. In general just needs an up grade.

We were attending the Adele concert so accommodation at a reasonable price was scarce. We were thrilled with this hotel as it was a 5 min walk to Newmarket shops and only a 20min drive to Mt Smart stadium. On top of that it had a queen bed and a single bed in the room which meant my daughter and I could share the room. We also had a balcony, cooking facilities and nice big bathroom. The beds were very comfy and there was free wifi. Some tiles in the bathroom were a little tired or broken but really that was nothing as everything else was perfect for us. As we were on the 3rd floor it was also very quiet. So easy to get to Mt Smart stadium as you just go along Broadway and avoid the motorway and crowds. Happy to recommend.

Older Style Hotel but Excellent Location

The style of the hotel is not modern but the facilities are well maintained and clean with spacious rooms. A very short drive away from the Parnell restaurant area. Good bus service to the CBD about 150m from the hotel. It is on a direct route to the airport.

Fairly central, but a bit tired and noisy.

Check in was fast and the room was ready, so no worries there. The room came with crockery and cutlery, which was a bonus. However, the room had a funny smell to it and I could hear the guests speaking and walking about in the room above. The seals on the windows were worn and that let traffic noise in. The shower leaked a bit. Parking the car was tight. The room was air conditioned, which was nice. I struggle to see where the \"4 star\" rating came from.

Codes for wifi didn't work, tv channels in both rooms were mixed up and did not match hotel guide, the place was wonderful, private, clean, just the tops of the bathroom walls need a wipe with janola, as the mildew was just appearing, very easy to access from motorway and to motorways we will definitely be repeat customers, the reception, owners were very friendly and helpful A+++ an absolute must stay !!!!! We had some issues with the room, having a bit of a smell, but the owners changed this immediately for us. Unfortunately the second room had some issues with a toilet that wouldn't flush and stained sheets on the bed (albeit clean). However this was all sorted straight away and the owners went out of their way to help us and make sure we were comfortable. We were very impressed with how they looked after us. Would definitely stay again, simply because of their superb customer service.

If you don't need the location don't go.

The rooms was downright uncomfortable and the conditions were tired. The only real advantage is that it is in walking distance of Newmarket and for a hotel in its location the price was OK.

Nice to be able to open doors onto a deck for clean fresh air. Excellent water pressure. Quiet surroundings. A very clean, fresh room. Only one problem. There was nowhere to put dirty dishes. No sink or bench space. You would have to wash dishes in the hand basin. Where do the cleaners wash the dishes? Just wondering.

Motel is conveniently located, but we found it wasn't good value for money. Due to vacancy rates in Auckland, motel increased their pricing to $206.50 per night.

We found several occurrences where the price didn't match the service.

There was a brown coloured mark on the light-switch next to the toilet when we arrived, and wasn't cleaned off during our stay.

There was no bar of soap in the bathroom for hand washing. That arrived during room cleaning the following day. Bathmat taken away, but not replaced and no spare towels provided, so had to request a bathmat. None available, so given towels anyway.

Didn't find any of the equipment of a quality you might expect in an accommodation provider asking for $200 per night - for example, hair dryer was grubby looking, low powered unit that kept overheating.

On day of check out, the staffer saw us with our bags on our way down stairs to reception, and only headed down to reception herself after we rang the bell, she seemed happy to keep us waiting. It was disappointing that basic customer service was lacking, particularly for the pricing of the stay.

I love staying at Off Broadway Motel. The location is perfect for Newmarket shops, the motorway and direct routes to Kyber Pass and Manukau Rd. Having stayed there a few times now, I know what to expect and what I do and don't need to take in my bag. The proprietors are friendly and helpful.

Booked for a two night stay in January, good location not far from city centre and easy access to other parts of Auckland. Clean and tidy rooms but in parts some minor maintenance could be done to further enhance the overall experience. Nice not to have to pay for parking. Area is quite and easy to get a good nights sleep. Only let down is the breakfast options, we tried it once and found it to be well below par and dies not reflect it's 4 star rating.
