The place is clean, so big shout out to the cleaning personnel. Safety and security are guaranteed since they don’t allow people in without the guest’s permission and they have safe boxes in the rooms. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. On the other hand, the hotel has central AC which is TURNED OFF at midnight, leaving one sweaty for the rest of the night. The gym is equipped with the basic, and it was obvious that no guest had been there in a minute before me… Also on the downside, I reported that the bathroom sink was clogged and the luggage rack in my room was hanging on a thread. The front desk person said they were going to check that, but never did…

The room was clean yet needed new flooring. I would give them 3 1/2 for extra efforts.
The staff were super courteous and went beyond their duties to keep us satisfied. Towels were one per person and your trade them for a free ones.

The hotel’s location is excellent; however, the property is poorly maintained. The cleanliness was very, very bad. Even the bathroom ceiling was dirty, who knows with what and the sink was full of grime. It did not feel like a clean place at all.
The hotel clearly needs renovations, proper maintenance, and a much higher standard of cleaning

Before booking this hotel, I read every single review and watched some videos online. I chose it because of its fantastic location and the price (not all hotels offer rooms for four people). We arrived knowing it wouldn't be a 4 or 5-star hotel. It's true that the rooms need some maintenance, specifically the bathrooms, but otherwise, everything was quite clean. The beds were quite comfortable, and the outside noise never bothered us (we were on the 9th floor).
The best things were the location (as I mentioned before) and the friendly service. It's not a hotel to spend the whole day in; it's just for sleeping. But overall, our stay was pleasant.

Wow. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those pictures must have been from 20 years ago. Beware, these rooms are NOT soundproof, and the hotel sit on a major street and above a restaurant that has mariachi's.

Initially when I turned the water on to shower, it came out yellow. I had to let it run a while until clear water came out. There are water spots above the ceiling and holes in between the wall tiles. The bathroom sink and the shower tub are stained (mostly the shower tub).

The city gets cold and there are no extra blankets. Needless to say the cold gets in through the \"soundproof\" sliding doors.

The bedroom walls are all cracked and it looks like they ran out of paint when painting the walls.

I asked the front desk guy if this was a crappy hotel, and his response was, \"yeah, it is, and you have the better room\" (202). But please, don't take my word for it, go see for yourself... or not. Oh, and my view of the Angel, which was what I was expecting, was just the top of her head. The balcony is beyond neglected and walls are cracked.

The dining room table has a huge crack down the middle and the rest of the furniture is outdated. The small refrigerator stinks when you open it.

Although the hotels location is one of the best, more could be done to improve a persons stay. Thank you, but no thank you, I will not stay here again. Just one star for the location.

This hotel looks better online than in person. The condition can best be described as “overdue for updates and repairs”. Not to mention that the 3 days I was here, the internet was functional at best 10% of the time. Of course they had posted “sorry that our wi-fi may not be working until September 12. Good to know after I paid and arrived to get work done. Avoid this place, unless you just need a bed and not much else. Do better Exe Suites San Marino.

Great location, felt very safe walking at all hours of the day. The place is old but it's clean and evedything worked well for me, hot water, Wi-Fi, bunch of street food in the area.

It does get a bit noisy at night, ot a problem for me but it is something to take into consideration if that would bother you, one can hear traffic, music from the restaurant right next to the hotel very loud and clear.

All in all i recommend, will rent again here. Fantastic place.

The staff were wonderful. However, this building is really old and the images and advertisements are extremely misleading. Walls are 70's yellow, vinyl floor is full of holes, no thermostats in rooms, and nearly all of the gym equipment was broken. In the photos everything seems bright and modern. In reality it's an old building slowly falling apart.

Don’t stay here. Stay at a much better location just down the street called Suites Del Angel. Price is only about $10-15/night more but you won’t be disappointed like I was here.

Exe Suites San Marino is not as advertised. Very deceiving photos online, AC is just blowing air around, windows don’t have a proper seal so room gets extremely warm, cracks in flooring bathroom shower leaking water….very run down!

The staff are wonderful. San Marino is what I would call a no frills hotel. It is very old and in need of a full renovation, but it nonetheless has all the basics needed by budget conscious tourists or business people. They are slowly making upgrades, notably the elevators which have just been completed. I have been coming here for years and prefer San Marino over other similarly priced hotels.

Rundown Hotel but with Excellent Service

Very central hotel, great price for the area. It's just very very old and outdated on the inside, to the point that the rooms can't be properly cleaned because of it. ie: torn and stained carpets, scratched and broken door frames, water stained tile in the bathroom, missing sink topper, leaking shower, scratched and stained tables/wood features. It is very run-down.

Besides the condition of the room - the service, location and price were great.

I enjoyed my stay at The Exes Suite San Marino Hotel. Though the actual apartment suite is more dated looking in person than in the photos, the suite was nonetheless clean and comfortable. The king size bed we had was comfortable and I slept very well. The property neighbors to a festive restaurant that either plays live music or reasonably loud tunes. There’s an Oxxo right across the street, many cafes and restaurants nearby, or the wonderfully priced food street vendors that is equally delicious. This hotel is ideally located especially with the main avenue of La Reforma. If I return to Mexico City, I would definitely re-book with Exes Suites San Marino.

La locación es muy buena y el personal es muy amable, pero las fotos que tienen aquí no coinciden para nada con la realidad de la habitación, la habitación estaba en muy malas condiciones, el techo se esta cayendo por partes, la cocina esta vieja y se caen las gavetas, la cama es chiquita e incomoda para dormir dos personas y la tele solo tiene como 5 canales, aparte las paredes están sucias y descuidadas, el agua caliente en el lavamanos se tardaba una eternidad en funcionar. NO LO RECOMIENDO PORQUE SUS FOTOS SON UNA MENTIRA CON LA REALIDAD!

Me gustó la ubicación, el personal es amable. Pero la habitación no fue lo mejor, el piso estaba muy desgastado y en la regadera era difícil regular la temperatura del agua, salía o muy fría o muy caliente, lo cual no me gustó para nada. También el foco de la lámpara a lado de cama parpadeaba en la noche y tuvimos que retirarlo para poder descansar, por último el agua del inodoro no dejaba de correr todo el tiempo, cerré la llave por la noche porque se escuchaba como que se estaba tirando.

A great location. No heater in the unit and we came during a cold period, so it was a little chilly at night. Shower took forever for the hot water to start. Some electrical outlets were old and phone chargers fell out easily.

Location is very good. Mgmt seem to be very comfortable with a very poor cleaning standard. I don’t care if the property is old, but it has to be clean.

I liked the location, walkable to many popular neighborhoods. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Unfortunately the condition of the hotel was poor. The floor boards were coming up, the walls were stained and the shower tiles were mostly damaged.

This hotel is pretty good for the price and location. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel look elsewhere, but if you just need a place to sleep while you enjoy the city it works. You will most likely need to speak spanish, but its location although noisy is great to tour the heart of Mexico City.

We were put on the second floor, which seemed like a construction site. The hall and the room had a nasty old carpet. We got there and they did not have a mini fridge in the room like the description said. I called and they did bring one up. The a.c. Window Unit Was not functioning properly so they sent another unit that had a hose. We had to open the window and leave it open in order to let the hot air out. Needles to say, we just went with out a.c.

The staff is friendly and I have no comments about them, the state of the hotel is what I disliked. It looks old and raggedy from the inside. No such thing as an upscale hotel. They need to maintain it and invest in it. And most definitely tear out that nasty old carpet.

Upon arrival we did not have any air-condition inner or family's room with outside averaging 85 degrees daily. Our room also had dirty vents and a door that was not properly aligned. Lastly only one elevator was working and the other was boarded up. We were told the airconditioning would be fixed soon.

Only one elevator and even it has issues of running properly. Staff is super friendly and rooms are clean just this hotel needs a major upgrade, if you’re looking for cheap rooms and in a good location this is the right hotel for you.
