Our one week stay was excellent. This is a very refined hotel offering gracious and highly professional service in a sophisticated traditional setting.
An all round beautiful experience not to be missed if visiting CDMX.

the hotel is very old and not maintained at all. not a 4 star. carpets were in bad condition; broken bathroom tiles; peeling cabinets; bathroom smells. Do not recommend at all. we had booked an air and hotel package otherwise i would have left.

I really enjoyed the stay here. It definitely has charm and history. The location is convenient. We walked to the Arena Mexico from there, not a short walk but reasonable and felt safe. It is an older hotel so it doesn't have all the amenities of a newer space but I definitely would choose Geneve again. And the price was excellent!

I reserved a Deluxe room through the hotel’s website, which was advertised as 388 sq ft, including a table and a larger bathroom. However, when I arrived, the staff informed me that they were very busy and gave me a smaller room instead.

Last note the room didn’t have smoke detector.

They also charged me $55 for early check-in, but did not offer any refund or price adjustment for providing a smaller room than the one I originally reserved.

Overall, the staff were very friendly, and the place is decent and well located. It’s in a great location for visiting the main attractions of the city.

Great historic hotel with a lot of character, and characters. Located in the busy Zona Rosa next several pedestrian streets, and a 5 minute walk to Roma Norte to the south, Reforma to the north, and 2 blocks from yhe Insurgente Metro Station. The hotel is historic and hence requires some grace. There are doormen, bell hops, concierge, and designated taxis which makes the hotel feel very safe. The public spaces are grand, and well layed out. The guest rooms are spartan, but well maintained. House keeping is very attentive, and if you need anything a quick call to the front desk answersmost needs. I greatly appreciated the laundry service, it was same day, and nicely pressed. Excellent water pressure, and the elevators work well. Breakfast is a buffet in the Garden Court, happy hour and live music in the Telephone Bar, very film noir. Best of all are the staff, the everyone is friendly, professional, and focused on providing the best service. I chose the hotel for the location and price, I was not disappointed. Thank Hotel Geneve for a very nice week's adventure.

The hallway carpets appeared quite dirty and may be due for replacement. Additionally, the showerhead seems outdated and caused water to spill outside the tub during use. Every staff person at the Geneve Ciudad de Mexico was very nice, helpful and professional. The down side:The hotel is old and I was not impressed with the rooms. You could see where they brought somebody to repaint, and they didn’t tape it so paint runs over on the foot frame in spots. No attempt up clean it up. The carpet needs a deep clean in the rooms.
I wouldn’t eat in the restaurant. They want you to eat the expensive breakfast buffet. If you just want a continental breakfast with a side of bacon, you can’t have it. There is bacon in the buffet, but they don’t want to sell it on the side. My wife wanted potatoes with her eggs. They said they couldn’t do it, yet there is a big pan of potatoes in the buffet. Very strange. I refused to back up the hotel restaurant.

the public areas of the hotel are gorgeous. I booked the lowest category of room, and it was completely fine, clean, everything worked perfectly, comfortable beds. It was not glamorous like the rest of the hotel, but we were super happy and comfortable. The staff was great. The area was more nightlife oriented than I knew it would be, and had a lot of LBGTQ clubs/bars, which was really great to see. Not really a 5-star hotel, neither in service nor in amenities. Located in nice location but came with a drawback that’s noise at night.

Staffs were nice and friendly but barely understood English.

The traffic noise, police sirens and people and music sounds in the street gets really loud as you approach the mid-night and it got really hard to fall asleep.

It’s sad that they didn’t know what a vegan food is. No options for vegans at breakfast buffet except for fruits and black coffee.
We couldn’t find any good vegetarian food for me and vegan food for my wife. We asked if Tamales was vegetarian, asked if “contiene leche o no? Contiene carne o no?” They answered no multiple times and I took one but halfway after eating we found cheese stuffed in the Tamales. How ignorant of them that they couldn’t tell if cheese was milk or non-vegan.

They offered a vegan item from the menu, we thought that’s complementary instead of buffet meal and ordered it. But later they made us pay for it. We weren’t even told that it would cost extra for that one item. They couldn’t really adjust one vegan meal since we literally had nothing to eat there in buffet.. they made a huge deal by talking to bunch of staffs there and still couldn’t get that for free. We paid the same money as meat-eating customers but they charged us double for a breakfast. Extra for a little bit of almond milk.

I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone who’s vegetarian and vegan and anyone who likes to sleep in peace.

As a historic property I did not expect to see new amenities. The TV did not even have signal. I only stay one night for the experience. Even though this hotel is rich in history, I cannot say much about the services. Would I stay here again? I am not sure. The location is good.

The hotel is amazingly located, with gorgeous common spaces. The basic room had extremely high ceilings, great water pressure, and comfy clean bed and sheets. The towels are worn, but they will gladly bring you plenty more, and there’s a daily water bottle included.

For $88/night or so, we have no complaints

Is this a 5 star hotel? No

But is it a great hotel with amazing history?! For sure!

I had a wonderful stay at Geneve. It is a beautiful, historical hotel with a small display that is worth visiting, two good restaurants, a cute bar, and unparalleled location. The staff is very acknowledgeable and welcoming, and special thanks to Carlos, who was beyond kind; it is a true joy when people share their love for their job. Will definitely come back.

Overall the hotel is very old, without any renovation. The bedding and towels were very old. Towels were falling apart. This is not a 5 star hotel at all. Maybe 3 star. Staff were nice and they changed our room after first night. Our first room had flies coming out of drain and bath tub was not draining. Location is good.

This is a very interesting museum hotel. So much to look at of historical interest. We asked for a quiet room and it really was perfectly quiet at night, facing an inner courtyard. Great location in zona rosa. I would stay again.

Room noise is a big concern. We had a corner room, and at night there was constant music from the nearby night club, horns honking, people yelling, cars roaring. It could be because we had a street facing room.

Otherwise, the remodeled room was decent - wood floors, lots of power outlets. We had water pooling on the bathroom floor from the shower, but I was able to solve it by angling the water towards the wall so it would stay inside the tub.

Decor of the hotel is very cool, there was a private party in the ballroom almost every night. Gym facilities were decent. Lots of nearby amenities for food, pharmacy, 7-11 so the location was great and felt safe.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but bring ear plugs!

The location of the room was next to the ballroom. The party on Friday didn’t end the loud music until 1:00. Yes I heard every beat, boop, and clomp of boots dancing. Afterwards the festival continued with lively conversation. Yes I was offered a move but for one night I thought it wasn’t worth it, until…daybreak had the ballroom conerrted to the morning breakfast. The cllappon of China, the early morning greetings and the smell of crisp bacon completed for a distasteful experience

The rooms have old carpets with stains and dirt, and they’re quite small. Plus, there’s no view.
The staff weren’t very helpful at all; they didn’t even greet you.
The only nice thing about being a luxury hotel is the lobby and the history of it. I’ll definitely come back just to enjoy the lobby and the restaurant, but I won’t be staying there.
The location is very convenient, as everything you need—stores, clubs, bars, and shopping—is very walkable.
Not what I was expecting.
