Luxury hotel does not do this beautiful property justice. A warren of comfort as you enter. Super bar with snacks and cocktails to tempt. Bedrooms are amazing with my bed in the double room big enough to be classed as a small island. Wish i was staying longer to avail of the spa but definitely next time.

Amazing experience. The best spa I have done. The heavenly package was exactly that, heavenly. The breakfast, rooms, amenities and the restaurant Cultra Inn was a delightful place. The food delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely make this place my first option when in Belfast.

The Culloden Estate was absolutely lovely. All staff were very attentive and friendly. The room was very spacious and clean. The only negative of our stay was we ate in Culta Inn, meal was beautiful but service was a bit slow and they forgot to bring me a drink, I had to go and remind them I was waiting on a drink, but this wouldn't put us off as I know they were very busy.

Gorgeous grounds, delicious food at the Cultra Inn Restaurant, and luxurious rooms! I got a suite and it was absolutely stunning! It's a shame I only stayed one night before my flight because it was truly an incredible property! The bathroom was so fancy with a huge immaculate bathtub and separate shower. The bed was tall and huge with giant pillows. The room was massive and had a lounge area and stunning view of the surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful and professional. I can't complain about this stay.

Not good value. Premium paid for location in countryside which is within 100 metres of highway. Dining facilities were not set up for remote location. No formal dining facility on Sundays and other weekend evenings already fully booked with neighbourhood reservations. Service staff were not focused and many not properly trained.

Very disappointing experience

Staff member working in spa was clearly really agitated. Seemed understaffed in there as she said she was just on by herself and there was no coffee available. She did come back over in the end and asked what coffees I would like which I appreciated but there was no sugar etc, she seemed quite stressed. Two coffees were £6 too, you think you would get sugar etc with this for that price! When I asked for a drinks menu she said she needed to sort other people out and i never got a menu. Room was just okay, air con was so loud to sleep to and I asked for a room with nice view and didn’t get that. No complimentary toothpaste. Staff on the bar were all quite young and didn’t come down to ask us if we wanted drinks etc they just stayed talking around the bar. (Only table service so we were just sat waiting and they weren’t even busy). There was no music etc prices were so dear and the cocktails/ Guinness were not even nice! Really small menu of cocktails and when I asked for one they said they had to check they had the ingredients? Also asked for nuts/ crisps for snacks and they said they only did chilli popcorn which came in a wine glass? Not a great choice was offered at all. Was sadly disappointed with the whole stay, not one to complain but paid a lot of money for this stay and it wasn’t worth it!

But shower did not work properly – red-hot was the only setting. So we were unable to shower! We complained – nothing was done.
Also ran out of toilet roll – surely they should check that each day.

Check in was quick and very pleased with an upgrade of room. Breakfast service on the first morning was a bit slow and our order was mixed up on the plates. Lack of quiet seating areas to read as most of the seating in the public rooms were reserved for afternoon tea customers or private parties from first thing in the morning. Requested 2 small bottles of water to be left at the door of the room on the second day but this never materialised. Ate at the Cultra Inn which was very good.l

Underwhelming, Overpriced, Average Service

We booked a suite for a special occasion and because of the price we expected better than average service. Unfortunately we didn't get it. We didn't have a terrible stay, but I couldn't recommend this hotel as anything more than average.

Things that weren't good:

- We reserved a table at the bar for early evening drinks. Another party sat at our table and rather than ask them to move we were offered an inferior table.

- We were brought two rounds of drinks within 10 mins of each other despite ordering 1 round. We felt obliged to take the second round even though it wasn't what we wanted.

- There was no hot water in our room on the morning of our departure. We were offered the use of another room on a different floor but I don't think this is acceptable.

- The breakfast was the worst we have experienced in any hotel stay in a long, long time. Very limited choice of fruit. Continental breakfast non existent. Fried food was overcooked, dry and unappetising.

- No newspaper offered and a selection of 2 available in the morning at reception. This isn't a major issue at all but I am merely stating this last point to highlight that overall the stay was at best average.

I don't think that's what this hotel aspires to but sadly if you're after luxury or something a bit better than ordinary then don't spend the extra money going here because it's just not worth it.

This hotel is everything you would expect when you want to stay in a castle! Absolutely fantastic way to finish our trip around Europe and Ireland, 3 nights in our Clock Suite was everything we hoped and more!
Incredibly beautiful from the second we drove through the Castle gates right through to our room. The Christmas decorations and trees everywhere were stunning and created such a festive feeling. The staff could not have been friendlier.
This is luxury!
I hope I'm lucky enough to return one day :)

A really enjoyable night at your spa and hotel, but, the only let down was the breakfast, it was very disappointing for the price at £18 per person, this was a special birthday treat for my girlfriend but the breakfast spoilt what was an otherwise lovely stay. The potato bread was over done, soda bread was hard, we were asked if we would like tea with our breakfast, we said yes, it didn’t arrive, we had to ask a second time. For the star rating of this hotel it was a very big let down. I don’t think it would deter me from staying again but would hope that things would have improved, thank you, Glen and Laura

The air conditioning fan was on all night and we were unable to turn it off. I reported it to the night receptionist who told me it would take 20 minutes to stop. I told him it had been longer than 20 minutes. He said he would report it to the night porter who would call on us. This was at 2am at 3 am there was still no sign of the night porter. The fan switched off at 6am. It was so loud, that it was difficult to sleep. I also reported it to the day receptionist who said that they will make a note of it and look into it. I am sad to report that the dismissive nature of the staff is my lasting impression and I would not pay to stay here again.

The Culloden definitely deserves it's 5 star status - just be careful though - when booking with Hotels.com - we ended up with a room only - hence no breakfast. This is the first time this has EVER happened and we've been here many times - we only discovered at check-in. My husband was gutted as this is the highlight for him - the breakfast was £25 a head to pay!! No thank you!

Didn’t like that the heating was noisy and woke me up twice each night. Didn’t like that the toilet made a loud noise every time you sat on it.
Liked the location and the views, although slightly lacked character inside a bit clinical overall despite the architecture.

Needs improvements.

Stayed a few times now. Unfortunately you have some great staff and some who just don’t care that much. This applies to the grill restaurant also. I think when you constantly need to look for service and people are not looking to see who wants service this is a problem for a 5 star hotel. Genuinely it’s a reasonable 4 star. I wasn’t asked how was my stay when checking out and that to me is always a sign of a place that gets complaints or perhaps they don’t care. As I said some fantastic generally older staff, but saving money by hiring young local staff shows. I think the front desk needs to be more happy and give information. There is no offer of any info, like we “have a spa opened to x”. Or breakfast Is served to x. concierge is very nice. Hope my review helps to make improvements and I’ll be happy to upgrade my review if so on future stays. Unfortunately quality hotels are lacking in Belfast so whilst I am complaining it is still probably one of the best in the local area.

Beautiful grounds. Rooms are great and attended to well. We stayed in Mull and Kitryre. Breakfast can be cook to orders, the chef accommodated us with Omelettes. Victoria served us a nice tea and Abdal was sharp at serving. Altogether lovely. Cultura just down the well is a great casual meal. Don’t miss the wonderful, tasty chowder. Thanks Culloden you made our trip to Northern Ireland magical.

well the place is lovely and the staff are great but the breakfast was terrible, the cooked breakfast come from a buffet it was served to my husband and it was stone cold, I called the staff and they said do you want the chef to cook the breakfast he said yes and I enquired do you have to ask especially if you want the chef to cook your breakfast the staff said yes so if you want a good cooked breakfast ask the chief to cook it for you do not get it from the buffet. the massage at the spa was a bit of a rip off overpriced for 25 mins salt scrub the scrub lasted about 15 mins and it was very poor value for money.

I stay in the four seasons a lot when I’m travelling and this trip didn’t really compare I saw staff being shouted at by management my room wasn’t that clean in fact I on 3 occasions having left the room at 9am and getting back at 4 had to phone requesting it was cleaned ... not great for the money

From the second I pulled up into the stunning estate, during check in, having my tea and then a couple of drinks the staff were immaculate and just couldn't help enough. 5* is a bare minimum for this amazing place.

A great stay but avoid the overpriced 'Ulster Fry'

The staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming but I was very disappointed with the ulster fry. No stake sausages or vegetable roll - the sausages served were a gooey mess of reconstituted who knows what?
The condition of the hotels was first rate spoilt only by sheets that barely fit the bed.

The hotel and estate is simply stunning. The decor is really nice and welcoming and I must say the staff are top notch. The rooms are surprisingly big and the bathroom in particular is very well equipped.
Yes it is expensive and the drinks in the bar are comparable to City of London prices but it shouldn't detract from the class of this place.

Definitely FIVE Star

Wonderful location on the outskirts of Belfast in the Holywood area. Kind of like a country estate - facility was actually a private residence at one time. There are limited place to go in the immediate vicinity but my wife and I took numerous walks on the property and down to the water for a great walk along the shoreline. You could use a car but the taxi service was so convenient and reasonable I would use this service. The staff was impeccable as well as the room and overall property.

Location is lovely but I expected more from a 5 star hotel considering some would be paying up to a few thousand to stay for a night.
The receptionist charged a hefty deposit upon arrival, and when checking out there was no mention of getting it back.
The room was comfortable although not pristine like I expected it to be, there was dirt on the walls and the shower pan definitely needs to be replaced.
We got room service, the food was a bit bland and yet again I expected better.

Beautiful classic hotel!

This is a gorgeous hotel with very nicely appointed quiet rooms. The greeting at reception is cordial and efficient and it is clear that the staff all see themselves as representing the hotel. The hotel highlights their chef and locally sourced food. The dining rooms are lovely and the food is excellent. The gardens and views from the hotel are lovely and perfectly maintained.

The health club is of good quality and the spa has excellent services and staff. There are lots of activities and afternoon tea is very special. You will feel pampered. I stayed 4 nights and could have stayed 2 or 3 more.
