As below expectations as the Titanic
The cost of the room severely out weighted the actual experience. Clear cost cutting was evident from small towels in the bathroom, room amenities and the 5 items for breakfast was grossly below what you'd expect for a room of that cost for the night. We shall not be back and would advise staying somewhere else.

This hotel was very disappointing. Our room looked nothing like any of the photos online, it was run down, the towels had dirty brown marks on them, the tiles round the bath were gritty and moldy, the room smelt musty, the bed sheets were stained, the water pressure for the shower was non existent. The breakfast was very limited in options. And we had to pay a £200 deposit on top of our room rate during check in which was not mentioned anywhere during booking the accommodation. The room was not worth the price paid, in fact I would say it was worth half what we paid! Very disappointed and we will not be returning, we are also still awaiting our £200 deposit refund even though the receptionist said it would be instant!

When you go to a hotel for the first time, I always take the cheapest price. To be greeted at reception with a £200 hold on your credit card just in case you want to eat or drink or if there is any damage caused.

Convenient location for Belfast waterfront only 20 mins with a car. Hotel is a modern town variety with practical sized rooms. Hotel was clean and towels fresh. Service staff were fantastic and accommodating for any extra stuff like soap, loo roll etc. Checklist system of ordering breakfast in evening is unusual but worked well leading to less waste from more buffet style offerings and checklist for extra towels and room items is also a good eco way of less waste. Enjoyed our stay as room and hotel was quiet and comfortable during our stay. One or two items maybe would also help, firstly car park debris on ground such as plastic bottles, a nappy! And other rubbish being cleared on a regular basis would help overall look as hotel is great and this area lets it down. Bath screen seal on our shower didn’t work so water ended up on floor and tv isn’t the largest (a minor quibble as didnt spend much time in hotel). Anyway an honest opinion on a nice stay for a few days, staff at desk were very accommodating and there if needed for any help without imposing themselves upon you. Breakfast was actually quite good but a few more options such as tomatoes, beans, hash browns perhaps! Again minor quibble on an excellent value for money hotel stay.

The stay at the strangford arms was good from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were excellent, especially the Duty manager Paul and his colleague madeline who were exceptional in there customer service and I feel went above and beyond what would have been expected. When we return to N.Ireland theres only one place we will be staying and that is the Strangford Arms.

We could not fault this hotel in any way, particularly of note was the friendliness of the staff. We had intended to go into town to eat but decided to eat in the hotel restaurant which was excellent as was breakfast the following morning. The hotel is well-placed for the big shopping centre as well as the town itself and onsite parking is a bonus these days.
