There was dust on the coffee machine and the bath tub showed considerable wear and tear. The property overall feels old and the breakfast was not worth the price. The staff however are brilliant and the only saving grace of this place.

A good budget hotel however not the cleanest. There was a finger nail on the floor (not one of ours) as well as a nail clipping too.

Fabric furniture like chairs, not the cleanest either.

Room is ok, it’s clean but nothing special. But we had a bad experienced on our second day breakfast time. It was very busy, and all able is full but it seems like the people serving in breakfast on the 29/12/2025 doesn’t know how to handle it when it’s full house and a server is not nice at all.

Pathetic customer service. Initially had to wait 90 minutes for our room, when we finally got it we were sent to the wrong room. We waited a further 45 minutes for the suite and had to go ask if our room key was ready as staff weren’t in any hurry to help us. Room wasn’t clean, dirty floor and things in the drawers, we had 1 robe between the 2 of us and 1 towel. We didn’t have toiletries or the “luxury’s” that was supposedly included and before we went to sleep we had to remake the bed as the sheets weren’t on. There was also silverfish crawling on the sink and floor of the bathroom. A valuable item also went missing and the staff have been more than useless in their approach, if they had of reacted when the item was reported it would have been found as we gave the exact location it would have been in. I was assured 100% by a manager that in his time working at the Clayton there had never been a theft and that the housekeeping staff would 100% find the item as it was in a drawer and they do drawer checks between each guest (which based on the cleanliness is a lie). I have rang 30+ times for an update and have been told i’ll be “called back”, I am still waiting for this. If you value your peace and want to feel safe during your hotel stay DO NOT stay at the Clayton Belfast.

We paid for a deluxe double. The bedroom area was fine. Bed was comfortable. However, the bathroom wasn't very modern. Not all of the bathroom items were refilled and bathroom was a little dingy. The hair dryer did not work. The lobby is very inviting and staff were friendly and helpful. Was really helpful to be able to store luggage in the reception area after checking out.

The hotel lobby, restaurant and lounge are exquisite. The rooms leave a lot to be desired. They are befitting 2-3 stars.
Showers barely work. No true tiolet paper holder, just one end of a broken one.
Rooms are small. After spending time in the Dublin location, this one was a sad disappointiment

Loved the breakfast menu, great choices and fresh with a lot of variety. Hotel is in a great location and looks great and welcoming upon arrival. Rooms are comfortable, but could do with a bit of a refresh as they look quite old and furniture looks dated. Some disturbances due to loud noise outside (people shouting wonder if this was the pub over the road) and from other guests, slamming doors, children running in corridors found it difficult to sleep. Not the hotels fault, as this will happen. Overall a really good stay as positives outweigh negatives and would come back! Rooms clean and loved tea tray.

The smell in the room was 'off' somehow but i was tired. Twice it got worse and it had a sewage-y thing to it. Not nice anyway for what you pay for the room. Guiness was awful, didnt finish it, and food was over cooked... Highly doubtful I'll be back here any time soon...

To be honest everything was just ok for one night. Pictures looked nicer than the actual hotel. Room looked dated with stained carpets, leaky shower and worst of all no window to the outside. My window faced a brick wall/inner courtyard of which there was no mention in the room description. On the plus side easy check-in check out process. Nice coffee & tea making facilities and a good mini bar in the room and good central location.

Our room was a big disappointment. The room was small, there was a musty smell straight away and there were stains on the carpet/chair and sheets. The breakfast was not worth the money and was like warm. We paid nearly £200 and thought we would get value with the hotel being 4 star. Unfortunately we won’t be back

Not quite the executive suite I was expecting.

Room decor and bathroom quite tatty. Kettle in the room didn't work properly, shutting off before boiled. Had to wait until 3.40pm to check in, despite arriving at 2pm. Was offered a cheap bottle of Prosecco as compensation for late check in. Gee whiz!

The staff were lovely, the hotel is very convenient to get around. The room was quiet and also large. I have stayed before and would do again. Also I think my room does need a bit of a refit. Overall though I had a comfortable stay with pleasant staff and enjoyed staying in Belfast.

Stayed in room 501. Right beside the elevators with no soundproofing doors between. Room is old and in need of renovation. Shower curtain was torn in several places and had an odd smell (I mentioned this on checkout and staff were very apologetic). Location is excellent, restaurant was fine but not outstanding. Staff very nice and public areas are welcoming.

I have stayed in this hotel several times before. The rooms are generally clean and comfortable..on this occasion we were put into a disabled room, not at our request, though my booking was a late one, so presumed this was the reason, that it was all that was available. The bathroom I feel needed some repairs as there were several things that weren’t right, or broken. The room itself was as expected, the bed was comfortable, though felt the tv was wrongly situated! As you couldn’t lay in bed and watch it, as it was positioned on the dressing table area to the side! Which if it was mounted on the wall opposite the bed it would have been much better. My only other issue, was that our room wasn’t refreshed every day, as we had been informed it obviously should have been. This happened more than once, which was a pity. Having said that the staff did respond to our requests for refills of tea, coffee, water and the bins to be emptied etc.. when we asked. Having said that, the food was excellent, had the daily breakfast and ate in the restaurant on a couple of occasions which was also excellent. All the staff were very friendly. Really like where the hotel is situated, convenient to walk into town. Would stay here again

Self service check in wasn’t the smoothest as they terminal didn’t easily encode the 2nd key and staff required
to assist. Noticed others
struggling to use at check in too

Fan in bathroom never switched off, even with lights off, which we found disturbed our sleep. Mentioned to receptio who arranged for maintenance. When we returned after a day in the city is was silent. Huzzah. Until we put the bathroom light on. Again it started. And never stopped.

Ordered room on our final night. Just a bottle of wine. Delivery in ten minutes. Excellent. 40 minutes later had to call reception to get room service delivered.

Bar is nice. Decent location. Very friendly staff.

Wouldn’t recommend. I’m sure there are better hotels for the price.

The bathroom was grubby and in need of a major refurb, dirty shower curtain and overall not nice.

I think they were cleaning the carpets on the floor I was on as there was a very damp dirty smell throughout the floor.

Best hotel for Belfast City Centre

Stayed one night as we were going to a gig at The Limelight Club across the road. Location was ideal for this.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the whole hotel had a relaxed atmosphere. Nice bar area with additional seating outside.
Rooms were comfortable but a possible upgrade to bathroom fixtures and fittings at some point would be good.
Everywhere clean and tidy.
Breakfast had a range of options and wass tasty and fresh.

The staff were lovely and helpful, very nicely located, nice vibes. Would stay again for a one night stay. The only faults were that there was 1 bath towel for 2 people, I had to order more towels. There wasnt any issue doing that but maybe more attention to detail is required. 2 guests, 2 towels. There was also no fan working in the bathroom which led to the whole place steaming up and couldn't clear it. There was a docking station/speaker on the bedside locker that was quite dusty and dirty looking. The bedside locker also had a chunk out of it. But otherwise, we were happy with the stay.

My stay was good but your range of Gluten Free food for Breakfast and evening meals is not good you could use GF sausages and the range of Breakfast cereal is poor.
Also No GF Peroni drink .
