Amenities could be better. Kettle but no coffe, tes, sugar, milk? Why have a kettle. Little dusty, we went to chamge the plug on the lamp and it was dusty on the plug sockets which led us to look at the skirting, which was also dusty. Just a little tired tbh. People up and down the corridors all night. Not massively secure. Never wuestionned when walking in, you can get in the lift without a key card and go to any floor, never questionned at breakfast, just walked straight in. Tbh, wouldnt stay there again, looks much better online that in reality

Staff was friendly was accommodating. Rooms were a little too hot and small but they were equipped with what was needed. Elevator is super slow. Location was great. It was across the street from a cinema, close to puerta de sol and lots of shopping and restaurants. Easy to carh a taxi outside of hotel.

Area was noisy. Hotel very basic. Few amenities and bathroom tiny without counter space. No drawers and small closet. Breakfast was buffet only. Pretty good location and get good walking shoes. Madrid is a maize and sea of people.

The photos on their website and booking platforms (I booked through Hotels.com) are misleading compared to the actual condition of the rooms. As others have pointed out, the front desk staff is far from welcoming. There was concerning mold in the shower, and the vents were filthy. The Wi-Fi in the rooms was unreliable, forcing us to use our own data.

The manager dismissed our concerns, claiming they reached out to offer a room change—which never happened. They ignored our emails about the false advertising and hygiene issues and only offered a 10% discount on our next stay. Honestly, when am I ever coming back to Madrid from Canada? What a joke.

Hotels.com is also failing to address the false advertising, but I will continue to pursue both the hotel and them until we are properly compensated.

Great position, very close to Mercado de San Miguel, Santa Ana and Plaza Mayor.

The staff was very attentive and gentle, giving me all the information regarding the best way of exploring the city on foot.

The bathroom was too small, but it could be solved by add a shower instead of a bath.

Great location and nice hotel. I would definitely recommend. To be nitpicky, the pillows are terrible, we had some issues with our key multiple nights and the air-conditioner wasn't turned on so we had to open windows, which is noisy.

Very comfortable hotel to stay. Located in central location which is walkable to Placa Major, Mercato de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol and Gran Via. Bit busy on the road downstairs but there are wonderful coffee shops, tapas restaurant, Carrefour and Lidl supermarket near by.

We enjoy our stay at Hotel Cortezo. Location is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions. I give a 4 stars only because they were renovating, so the areas where they were painting looked like a construction zone.The breakfast is great! To all the staff all I can say is thank you. They are very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

It was our second stay here. All 3 of our rooms were modern, extremely clean and of a good size. Same goes for the bathrooms, which all had a shower. The hotel is in an excellent location: just off the hussle & bustle of Sil. Breakfast was very plentiful and staff very helpful and polite. Would recommend addition of an electric kettle in rooms Highly recommend.

I loved the location of the property as well as the room. The staff was very accommodating when i asked to change rooms. Only complaint is that it is located next to a club so at night the party goers can be very loud when entering and exiting the club. Overall, highly recommend.

Es un hotel catalogado tres estrellas y obviamente no se puede esperar lujos, pero la limpieza e higiene no es negociable. El baño se encontraba en pésimas condiciones y las áreas comunes necesitan renovación urgente. Tanto las paredes como alfombra. El hotel es muy céntrico y cerca de todo y el personal fue muy gentil.

Our room was quiet and clean with an updated bathroom. We found the hotel to be in an excellent location in the historic town enabling us to easily see the sights which were interested in it was in an easily walkable distance from the hotel.

The wallpaper was peeling off, the soundproofing was horrible, and there was shampoo, but no conditioner. They also made an announcement in the middle of the night to try and get people to stay an extra night, which woke me up and made me not want to stay an extra night.

Only real issue was the thin walls. I heard too much from my neighbors. But, the let me in at 11am. Nice roof deck. Nice rooms. I paid 30 less for a piece of s hostal the two nights before. This was a god send in comparison.

The hotel staff was very rude, front desk person particularly had no clue how to talk to a customer. The staff at the restaurant was equally rude, my wife was taking milk for our infrant son, and the lady at cafeteria rudely told her to pay for the milk, while my wife was already paying for breakfast! I would not recommend this property at all

Rude front desk and NOT AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

The front desk clerk actually got into an argument with us saying our passport was not valid????!
Also, they DO NOT have transportation to the airport. They said they could call for a taxi instead. The room did not have soap and given the argument with the front desk clerk earlier, we decided to use our own shampoo as a soap instead, so we wouldn’t need to interact with him again.

we are here for 7D6N vacation. The hotel entrance with excess card to enter. No worries, that’s a door bell.
The front desk friendly n local tourists tax needed to add on per day stay basis euro 0.77 and receipt will be issued.
The room pleasant only. Just like student hostel. That’s a computer & printer for u to settle your business stuff at lobby. It’s free to use.

Room was nothing like website except the bedding colour. Requested double room and was given two singles. Room was very run down, in need of a refurb as in everything was damaged in some way. Clean but just run down. Dark and dull room too. Shower is difficult to use as it is across the bath rather than in it. Smell of smoking comes through multiple vents making your room smell vile. Can hear EVERY thing in other rooms...including the bathroom. Weird whistling noises all night when others use their bathroom or pipes. Got very little sleep. Air con temperature doesn't really work either. The one positive is the reception staff are friendly.

Hotel close to Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor. Paid parking steps away. There is almost no sound insulation and you can easily follow the dialog next door or on the (busy) street.

The rooms were also spartan with not much more than a smallish queen bed and bare necessities.

This is a cute little hotel right in the center of Madrid. A few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Via and a slightly longer walk (30 minutes) to Prado, Palace. The staff are very kind, helpful, speak English well and try to provide a good experience. We had a room in a two room suite and it was very quiet at night for being in the center. I recommend the breakfast if you are staying only 2-4 nights because its delicious, filling, and has enough variety for a few days. Also helps you get going in the morning so you can go straight to the attractions. The hotel offers to hold your luggage on the last day if you need some time to explore before leaving, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience and location! Bring extra water to hotel bc they dont have any fountain or water dispenser.

The hotel is old doors are noisy to close you can hear all the neighbor's bagging there doors .rooms are small .insulation is poor you can hear the person snoring in the other room.the carpet along corridor is very old and dirty with stains.its not a 3 star hotel it should be 1 star hotel only.i didnt sleep well during my stay there .the hotel need a lor of refurbishment ,very old hotel.

Very loud- people working on air condoning u till 10:00 at night! Loud conversations as well. When I complained at front desk earlier in the evening they said they would be done by 8:30!
Sheets were shedding on clothing and hair!! Front desk people were not very friendly. Would not stay there again!!

Fantastic location for exploring Madrid on Foot only @ 100 metres from the Calle de las Huertas!
Modern hotel. we have a suite which was great with really comfy beds and even though it was adjacent to a road there was no noise from outside at all. really good buffet breakfast. new checked out in the morning and left our luggage and had a full day exploring, collecting our bags on the way to the Train Station. Really friendly & helpful staff.
Great place to stay!

My room 312 was joined to the rear of the next door building the Theatro Calderon. As a result I heard the whole show from 9-11 p.m. I may as well been in the audience it was so loud.

Nice welcome and very clean room. The basin in the bathroom had a huge crack. Blanket rather than a duvet, which was not very nice. The walls are thin and you can hear talking and other activities! going on.There was a good selection of lovely food for breakfast. Shame rhere was no bar. On the whole I am not disappointed with the price i paid.

Walkable to pretty much everything

The hotel is in a great location. Quick walk to the metro and walkable to popular spots such as Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Mercado de San Miguel, Gran Via, and the Royal Palace! Many restaurants and bars nearby as well.

The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. They set up a pick up time for us for the airport on our last day and answered any questions we had. I was confused about the reservation of my flamenco tickets and the man at the front desk called the establishment for me, which was very nice.

The room wasn't the fanciest, having two twin beds, but it was comfortable enough for just having it to sleep.

I hated this hotel tried to check out but was told I had booked through an online group so I could not change my booking unless they agreed to let me change my booking. I tried to contact the booking number as I was unhappy with the hotel but I couldn't get through. After several complaints they changed us to another room that was bit better. I was paying $300 aud per day for a dirty run down hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.The air conditioning is old and doesn't work well. Our room was smelly and there was dried white stains on the curtains. Yuck.

Brilliant value.

The hotel was in the centre of Madrid and therefore all the sites were in walking distance. Madrid is a beautiful city. The hotel breakfast was very good and covered a good range of foods. The hotel room was very clean as was the bathroom , the only improvement I would make to the room was to add a mirror but that is a minor thing. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel both for location and value.
