The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The staff were extremely courteous. The continental breakfast somewhat adequate. Did not appreciate the paper thin walls as we could hear other guests talking/laughing loudly till 1:15 am, snoring loudly and slamming doors. Although there were earplugs in the room, they did not dim the noise. The heater (overseeing the bed) blasted hot air on top of us throughout the night very uncomfortable. The directions for its use were somewhat difficult to follow. Thank you for allowing the constructive feedback.

Also, the staff person showed us where breakfast would be. It set up an expectation for breakfast. There was stale bakery and a bowl of fruit. I was a little embarrassed for your establishment. If it were me, I’d suggest if people would like coffee in the morning (there also was no cream or milk), go and be pleasantly surprised by a bowl of fruit. Leave the bakery out if it’s not going to be decent.

It was an expensive $2,000+ stay, but since I had to be in Wicker park for family and there were 3 of us I booked a one bedroom with a pull out couch, but it had a kitchen etc. nice right? no!! it ended up being in a basement with a walk down into a dirty dark entrance with webs and bugs all over... there was even an opening on the side of the stairs that someone could just pop right on down without anyone noticing (the other side of stairs was covered for safety but not the other side?) we were 3 ladies, no man with us so I literally slept with a wooden bench against the door. and that bench was full of webs and had not been cleaned in who knows how long?The entrance was not cleaned or even looked like it gets cleaned for bugs/spiders which we found a big black one and smaller ones during our stay. It states on the card in the bathroom that towels get renewed every other day, but after the 3rd day we had to call and ask for more and no cleaning what so ever or even picking up the old towels from us.. no housekeeping at all during our 4 day stay and when the front lady showed us our room it was so quick for her to get out she didn't show us anything for the room \"there's a book on the desk with information\" we could not find any ac thermostat and it got a little warm and there were no windows to open. I 100% do not recommend booking this room at all!

Broken toilet seat was not fixed after identifying the problem on day one and was told it would be replaced while we were there. Communication could have been a lot better in general. Kitchen wasn't stocked with enough basics. Directly outside the front door was a magnet for flying insects including mosquitos which made it very difficult to avoid having them get into the apartment.

The building is in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants, shops, and bars that are just around the block. Only thing that I could see bothering people is the building is right next to a train line, but it didn’t bother us.

We decided to stay in and explore a new area in Chicago rather than head to our usual Michigan Ave/Waterfront hotels. We were not at all familiar with Wicker Park. The area is very cute, up and coming but also already established with lots of shops, some national some local and unique with restaurants, bars, vintage shops and with easy access to the El, Chicago's subway/train system. The property itself is very charming, in a quiet street 1 block from a lot of the action and super clean and well set up. Our room could have benefitted from a dresser but that's a small detail. The back of the inn IS right up against the tracks and you definitely hear the trains rumbling by. We kind of liked that but its probably not for everyone. The property has a communal kitchen where breakfasts are prepared and is open to guest use. The kitchen is extremely well set up and laid out and is a great resource. The inn staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. We would definitely stay there again.

Wicker Park Inn was beautifully appointed, newly decorated, comfortable and friendly. The continental breakfast was healthy and more than adequate. Delicious coffee. The “L” train is right outside the window and surprisingly is not bothersome at all. Actually kind of soothing. But if it’s not soothing to you, the host cleverly provided disposable earplugs! My one complaint was the cleaning staff was anxious to get in my room to clean. They were almost “lurking “…at 7:30! Your room ready? No, we haven’t packed. Ready now? No, we haven’t eaten or showered. Breakfast (that should go til 9:30) goes to 9:00 but was cleaned up at 8:55, so we missed the pastry. Other than the hovering cleaning crew, it was delightful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wicker Park Inn. Nestled in a quiet street with many trees and birds it’s very peaceful and relaxing. There is a tram that runs behind the building periodically but it’s not a harsh sound, kind of pleasant to be honest, like a wave or roll
of thunder that comes and goes. The Inn itself is spotless, comfortable and well appointed with great attention to detail. It’s obvious the owners understand the needs of their guests. The location is perfect, just a block from Milwaukee Ave where all the shopping and dining are, and yet feels miles away from the hustle and bustle. Be sure to add on parking, as the street is residential, and hard to find a spot. The lot is just a very short walk from the Inn. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Wicker Park!

Cute spot! Wicker Park is a great area to walk around - lots of shops, restaurants and easy access to other parts of the city with the Blue Line! Good size room with lots of space to unpack + a great bed.

Such a cute property. We flew into Chicago for a concert at Salt Shed. I chose this location versus closes Hyatt at it had more character and was not disappointed. We stayed in the Hoyne room right, on the first floor right when you walk room. Check in was smooth and room and common areas were always spotless. Included breakfast was light, but enough for us. We were able to walk to and from concert and hit up several bars restaurants along the way. The Inn is close to L, but train didn’t impact our sleep. Really enjoyed our stay!! Thank you!

Close to everything and safe. Cute neighborhood. Our room The Damen is close to the kitchen and we could hear people talking as early as 7:30/8 am. The kitchen was quite cold. This was our 2nd stay and we enjoyed it though !

My partner and I really enjoyed staying here. The neighborhood was so cute and quiet. The train that went by was oddly soothing - we didn’t feel it was noisy at all. We had a gorgeous street view. The Check in was efficient and Sandra was helpful. The overall atmosphere had a B&B feel, room was clean, linens and towels of high quality. Although we did not take breakfast the kitchen was amazing. Unfortunately our bed was very worn out with a deep valley in the middle which was a huge flaw. I loved everything else but would hesitate to stay again due to mattress.

Great location. We elected to drive to the Loop because of Covid; however, it's located close to the \"L\" too. Close to excellent restaurants, seems to be in a safe neighborhood and all-in-all a good choice. Our only complaint was that there was no housekeeping service during our four-day stay. We would have appreciated a change of towels....

Excellent stay! Would definitely stay here again! The self checking in and out was convenient. The room was spacious and clean. There is a large communal kitchen space if you want to eat your of own food there. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We had the onsite garage parking. It was super convenient.

- The owner was super sweet, gave me extra pillows & threw in a charcuterie board for FREE.

- There wasn't someone on staff to help you at all times (which was an issue). I cut myself & needed first aid.
- My room was very pretty but overall it was dirty. The bathroom was gross (hair all over from previous people who stayed and floor was filthy). I took a shower and then got black dirt all over my foot.
- The shower and sink had barley any water coming out of it. It was hard to even get soap off my hands!
- Only items we could use was two towels (not enough for myself and my friend), soap/shampoo/condition (that wasn't individually packed) so we were touching items that others used.
Especially during COVID, being cleaning is KEY. My room was dirty and makes me very upset that it wasn't following protocol during the pandemic. Everything should be wiped down and individually packed toilet-trees. Not to mention that I could hear everything (outside & people walking above me stomping around).

Everything was very nice. One thing I didn't like was I made request through expedia for overnight parking. The site said it was in a garage. When I checked in, the garage spots were gone and I had to find parking in the street. At least they didn't charge me and did give me a parking pass.

Loved my stay and would book again. Comfy rooms, great shower, pillows were plentiful but all the same and I like a down-like option. I had a room At the back and the EL was right outside my windows. Noise is not a problem for me so it wasn’t an issue but light sleepers might want to request a room away from the tracks. I wish the doors had a second lock as I felt uneasy with just a simple bedroom door lock.

Lovely Inn in the heart of the city.
I would highly recommend this lovely B&B. I was met by the very friendly and professional manager, personally escorted to my upgraded room and provided with loads of helpful information about the Inn and the surrounding amenities. The only small downside is the lack of on-site parking, though the short, 2 minute walk back to the Inn from my protected parking spot was though the lovely Wicker Park neighborhood. All and all a very nice stay.

I stay at hotels over 120 nights a year and I haven’t had as good of an experience at a hotel, as I did at the Wicker Park Inn in the last three years.

Nice hotel, but a few areas of improvement
I am a bit torn on this one. First the good: the hotel was immaculately clean and extremely well furnished. The room's are GREAT size, wonderfully decorated, and the wifi and tv are awesome! The staff was very friendly, and helped me check in when my flight came in late, and I arrived past the check-in time.
Now the bad: the hotel is located next to an elevated train. I was on the first floor in the Wolcott room. During the night I kept hearing what sounded like a plane taking off. I knew we were 15 miles from O'Hare, so I was shocked to hear it. The next morning I saw the train and realized I was hearing the train go by...not great. Secondly, although there is of course a lock on the door, there is no dead-bolt. Finally, breakfast is to be served between 7:30 - 9:30. I went and got coffee at 7:30, planning to return for breakfast. When I got back at 8:30 the food was gone, and I was told an \"event\" was taking place so they ended breakfast early. That should have been communicated to the guests, as I was not the only one to show up and be shocked that the food was gone. A little communication goes a long way..

It was a terrific place to stay. The staff was very friendly, it was quick and easy all around. Also is very close to a spot downtown to enjoy yourself walked less than a 1/2 mile from the room to the venue for a concert I was seeing. Would defiantly stay again for sure.

Modern Boutique in Great Location
The location and setting of Wicker Park Inn was perfect for a fun trip to Chicago to see some of our favorite bands at the Subterranean. Wicker Park Inn had a private garage available to park in as well as an incredibly clean, updated and comfortable room. We loved the boutique modern feel and had a good night of sleep. We also enjoyed a simple breakfast of scones, fresh fruit, coffee/tea and quiche in the morning. There are a lot of great stores and restaurants in the area.

The room was beautiful and the people running the inn are very nice. The location is perfect to serve the local area with many things in walking distance. Plan in advance to park on the street. It is not hard to find a place, but you have to look at bit and parallel park. Breakfast was nice, but limited. Great WiFi, TV and heat. Great bathroom. All very modern with one major exception - no elevator. I plan to stay again when visiting my son, who lives in the area.

The Wicker Park Inn is a very nice place to stay and a great area of the city to be close to local restaurants. There is also a Walgreens just around the corner. The only thing I would mention is that it is located near the train system and if you are a light sleeper you should know this. Wonderful staff and a very nice building and rooms.

Wicker Park Inn
Our host was incredibly nice and helpful from the moment we pulled up. The room was comfortable with satellite TV and a nice bathroom, and even a mat to put our wet boots so as not to track snow/slush all over the room.
Perhaps the nicest thing the proprietor of the inn did was allow us to stay past check-out time when my car wouldn't start in the morning due to the subzero Chicago temperatures.
I would highly recommend the Wicker Park Inn.

Urban Inn with friendly staff
We stayed for 3 nights while attending our sons graduation. He lives in the area. I found the Inn pleasant and the staff very accommodating, We were initially to take a small efficiency apartment that was next to the tracks for the Blue Line. We found this apartment not to our liking as the train was very loud and constant. I don't know if the apartment had a security system but with the empty buildings adjacent to the property, we did not feel safe. The staff was accommodating and moved us because they had availability. I think we would have had a long night otherwise. The next apartment was better although my husband worried about the different levels of flooring. The room inside the Inn was OK although the sink dripped all the time in a very small bathroom. We are not urban dwellers and these problems may be less pronounced for those of you used to living in urban setting that is constantly in flux.

We stayed in the Cape Cod room for two nights. This room is right next to their office and breakfast area so you will be able to hear noise from those areas. You will also be able to hear the blue train when it passes nearby. It's not too loud though. It's a great place to stay with all the normal comforts. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's about a 5-7 minute walk to the blue train. We always walked to the Division stop but Damen is also close. I would definitely recommend this place for a more local feel than a hotel.

It would have been a nicer stay to know there was an above ground subway directly behind the hotel. Open the back door and it was RIGHT THERE! Knowing that we would NOT have stayed there. The train ran every 10 mins. all night long and during the day!! Not to mention the 15-20 steep steps to get to our room! The staff was pleasant and accommodating but in the future for bookings of hotels, I now know to ask about such things. There were ear plugs in the room, but still they should have informed us. The free breakfast was delightful with fresh pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt and juice!

Uncomfortable Spring Beds, Great Location
I booked last minute, but before the 8pm check in deadline. No one was around when I actually went to check in, but the owner was very nice when I called and showed up within 5 minutes to let me in. Overall the staff was very nice. But this isn't a $130+ place. My room was very loud; right next to the office and the breakfast. You could see light through the door and hear everything said outside. The bathroom had a flickering light. The sink dripped. The bed though was the worst. It was a very cheap spring mattress that clearly had no soft layer on top. I hardly slept. Breakfast was instant oatmeal and some fresh fruit. It's a great location; if they just upgraded the beds I'd risk staying again, but until then I can't recommend this hotel.
