At first glance, the hotel online seemed promising, so we decided to give it a try. However, upon our arrival, we were met with a significant delay of 10 minutes or more in the check-in process due to the absence of a receptionist. Once we finally received our room, we were shocked to find it filthy. Not only were there no towels, but when we requested them, we were informed that there were none available, which is utterly absurd for a hotel establishment. Despite our subsequent attempt to inquire the following morning, we were met with the same response. To make matters worse, we discovered underwear inside a drawer, further corroborating the hotel’s apparent lack of thorough cleaning practices. The bathroom was equally appalling, with urine present in the toilet upon our arrival.

I had to have my room key reset 3 times on my 4 day stay, the refrigerator interior was cracked and broken, the main light in the room did not work, the TV had a large log in box on the screen. When I told the person at the front desk about it she said that she would tell maintenance about it. No one ever came to do anything about it. The bath tub was old and cracked, the shower curtain did not reach both walls, no one came to to clean the room, empty the trash or bring new towels during my 4 day stay.

The building needs renovation, security lock looks like I can rip it off the wll with one finger. Almost all the lights in the room dont work. blow dryer did not work and it looks about 20 years old, was white, now yellowish. the light switch cover in the bathroom was missing , good thing it was a pust button one. House keeping did not remove the trash from the room, after we placed them all together so it will be easier for them.

When I got there the room look OK. I woke up in the morning was getting dressed for work and poked my toe with something sharp started bleeding immediately. This hotel is trash. They gave me a room that was filled with mold, blood stained beds, shower head broken, walls dirty like someone played in mud. Room next door had smokers and its was a supposed non smoking room. Room was filled with cognate smoke. I asked to be moved they put up a fight with me. Tried to make me move up stairs mins you I’m in a wheel chair half time. No elevators. They do not accommodate. A male tried to bust down my door for two nights in a row. Office did absolutely nothing about it. They are rude. I have videos and and proof of the lady working front desk becoming very aggressive and rude. Do not recommend you take your family or kids to this place.

The shower was hotrible amd it did not get as hot as we would habe liked. The walls were thin and someone was bumping music all night in the next room. The toilet had low pressure and it almost didnt flush. When it came to breakfast. The orange juice lokked brown and the waffle maker went out mid way so the waffle didnt cook all the way. This room should have NEVER-EVER been put into rotation. Pubic hair on walls of the shower, filthy bathtub, broken window/shutter hardware, no TV service, chewed/discarded chewing gum pushed into an ac vent, marijuana odor coming into the room from another unit, peeling plastic coating on refrigerator never removed. I would rather sleep in a porta potty than this dump. And yes we have pictures and yes the front desk came and inspected the room.
Contacted Expedia immediately via text ( they were the entity I paid) they stated front desk would issue the refund, the attendant stated she did, we left immediately and found another room. It was still charged to my CC and yet to be refunded as of now. Expedia issued a 25 $ courtesy credit not related to the room charge/price ( thank you) for future use.
Shame on you Rodeway Inn San Jose and shame on you Expedia for even allowing this business on your site. Everyone get your act together. We won’t stop until were issued a 100 percent refund to my CC.

First, there was no glass turntable in the microwave in the room, so I checked with the front desk and was told that there was no one in charge and they could not provide one until tomorrow morning. We were only staying one night. We were allowed to use the microwave in the breakfast area to eat the food we had bought outside and were going to eat in our room, and we had to carry it upstairs to our room. This was very tedious, inefficient, and disappointing. Also, there was no hanger in the room, no wick to put toilet paper in the toilet, and the leg of the ironing board was broken, making us wonder why such a room with so many deficiencies existed. It was our bad luck to be shown such a room.... Of course, the next time we stay in San Jose, we will never choose this place.

The staff was very nice but I would never go back. The carpet looked like it may have been involved in a major crime scene from \"Criminal Minds,\" and I was almost certain a possible episode was being reenacted in at least 3 or 4 rooms, the second-floor walkway, both stairwells and a decent part of the parking lot. I brought my children (aged 10 - 15). Unfortunately, going on the photo, I thought it was a great spot, so they had their own room... I literally couldn't sleep because I worried about them the whole night.
Our AC didn't work, the bathroom was gross, and also contained very suspicious stains. The pipes made a God awful high pitch squeal for about 2 hours. The shower/tub faucet was broken. The coffee maker was broken. Hair dryer - you guessed it... Broken. There was construction happening, so we couldn't park anywhere near our room. I thought the hot tub looked nice - but discovered it was the pool! But it was clean and looked very inviting.
The staff was very kind and accommodating, and I felt sorry for what they have to deal with. We got a ton of TV channels through direct TV I believe it was, so that was nice as well.

My family of four stayed for three nights in a ground-level room near the parking lot entrance. Unfortunately, the room had a strong cigarette smell, and we found ashes by the window, which we reported to the front desk. The floor had debris, and housekeeping had to come back to clean. The pillows were flat, the sheets had stains, and we felt crumbs in the bed, making comfort an issue. The TV was not a smart TV and only had Dish Network, limiting our viewing options. The pictures on Expedia didn’t match the room, which was disappointing, but the location was convenient for our trip to Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz. Breakfast was basic with no protein options, just muffins, juice, cereal, toast, and a waffle maker. The pool looked fine but not like the online photos. There were some bystanders walking through the lot and people sitting in cars playing loud music. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, which improved the stay.

The place where this hotel was, was not saved it. The rooms. The halls were really dirty. The room was dirty on the stuff coming out on the top of the wall. The bathroom was really dirty. It didn’t even flush. It was not safe for my kids to be there it was just not safe and it smells so bad. The room smell like cigarette.

I rented a room at this hotel on 8/21/24 for two nights and that was the worst place I’ve ever seen in my entire existence.This was the first time in my entire life I’ve entered a hotel that dirty. The lobby has an awful smell as you enter it . The concierge has no professionalism . I reported to here that our reserved room bathroom is dirty she did not even say I am sorry for the inconvenience and let me see what I can do, nothing like that instead she said to you want your refund which was exactly what I wanted. There’s I way I would let my family stay in this filthy, ghetto place. In front of the rooms door are covered with sirup stains , very sticky and discussing smell. The smoke detector are hanging from the ceiling and there’s no privacy.

The photos on this hotel's description must be at least 5+ years old, because this place looks nothing like that. I pulled into the parking lot and instantly regretted my booking decision. The exterior looked rundown, weird people lurking around, and just an overall sense of gloom and doom. I went to check-in and the nice lady at the desk said, \"You have 15 minutes to see the room, if you have an emergency or you dont like the room, you come back in 15 minutes and get a full refund. After 15 minutes, no money back.\" I was shocked. I grabbed my 2 kids and we went to the room, and the hallway we had to walk down was dirty and machines were broken. We got to the room and the light switch didn't even work. So I found a small light to turn on before we closed the door. I looked around. Walls were dirty, floor was dirty, bathtub was not clean. Ceiling above bathtub wasnt painted. It was the worst hotel I've ever step foot in. We practically ran out of there back to the lobby to get our refund. Do not stay there if you have kids, or you are a woman, traveling alone. You will not feel safe. I am extremely grateful for the woman at the front desk. She gave me my refund and we got the heck out of there. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was scared and wanted to leave.

This hotel should be shut down. The pictures online are very deceiving. The room had about 50 small flies in the bathroom mirror, the tub was brown and full of hair, like a scene from a horror movie. The bedsheets had brown spots. I left as fast as I could, when I talked to the clerk she did not apologize all she said was it was non refundable. Do not, I repeat DO NOT stay here.

The hotel is greatly in need of repair and my room was NOT ready for rent. The carpet and walls were dirty with paint peeling on the walls and the tub. Upon my arrival, there was no toilet paper in the room, and the phone and the TV did not work. It took them 4 hours to get the TV working and then the channels were limited, without any local channels. I found a dirty pair of underwear from the previous renter under the desk.
