The room size was adequate and the location acceptable, but unfortunately several aspects of our stay were disappointing.
Breakfast was offered for €8 per person, but the quality did not justify the price. The options were extremely limited: a coffee, two slices of ham, a croissant placed on a tray, and a small slice of lemon cake. There were no real choices available, which made the price feel excessive for what was provided.
The mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were also of poor quality, making it difficult to rest well.
Housekeeping service was minimal. During our five-night stay, towels were changed only once or twice and the beds were not properly made most of the time.
Communication before arrival was also challenging. When we arrived around 6 p.m., there was no staff at the property and no prior instructions on how to access the building. After several messages and phone calls, we finally received the necessary information. Arriving at night with a child and no guidance was not a pleasant experience.
Overall, while the room itself was acceptable, the lack of communication, poor breakfast value, and limited service made the stay below expectations.

Right next by the cathedral, but in a quiet street. Close to other attractions too. Shuttle bus to Monreale is very close. There are times that neighbors could talk loudly at night.

Overall excellent with an amazing breakfast of homemade baked items. However, our arrival was a bit odd. At 4:00 PM there was no staff at the premises. After no response to the doorbell, we were forced to activate costly international roaming on our phone (the only time during an 18-day trip) to reach someone who provided information on how get in. During our 5-day stay, it appears there was no management around after noon--sometimes not even after 10:30 AM.

The room, in fact it was a suite, was spacious and clean, with a refrigirator and AC in each room. The only issue was that the shower glass doors were installed very unstable and one of them falled on my husband during shower. The glass broke in small pieces and even wounded slightly my husband. However, the manager arrived immediately and cleaned the bathroom and flat. The location was wonderful.

The B&B was lovely - tucked away in a little street moments from the cathedral of Palermo. The room was spacious and clean and staff were amazing. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the fresh pastries. Would highly recommend. Only downside is parking and visitors need to bear the ZFL zones in mind to avoid fines.

A Great Experience & Perfect Base for Tourists
Have wanted to visit Sicilia for some time since I love all things Italia. It’s a bit daunting travelling as a solo “female woman”, but it’s been a great adventure and I couldn’t be more content with the B&B Federico Secondo. A convenient spot to explore the wonders of Palermo, close by the cathedral (duomo) and the maze of A-mazing streets and piazzas... don’t forget your maps and iPhones and anything else that can help with navigation. Ignore all offers of help on a street level but the bona fida businesses are trustworthy and a blessing. I recommend this B&B and would be happy to stay in future adventures.

This B&B is all about location being less than 5 minutes from the cathedral. If driving you MUST have a sat nav as we missed our exit off the motorway and it took us almost 2 hours to get back to where we wanted to be. Be aware when parking in the Piazza someone will come up and ask for money. We reluctantly gave him €5 just to make sure our car was ok which to be fair it was when we returned. The breakfast was fine and you are only 10 minutes from Piazza Bagnoli which has 2 good restaurants. We had read about their credit card machine not working so were prepared top pay cash but it worked fine for us.

The b&b was easy enough to find and the room was large and nicely decorated. We arrived out of reception hours however and weren't able to establish how to access the free wifi. We needed to check out early and couldn't establish how to do this, either. Partly poor planning on our part, though I do think wifi access could have been made more obvious. Our host spoke no English and we speak no Italian, so it wasn't very easy. Generally fine but nothing special.

Rooms were lovely, clean, big, bright! Bathroom was huge! Breakfast was simple but nice. The only issue I had was the location, it's in a quiet little residential street, but quite a distance away from the train station and the marina/port (where the restaurants and bars were). Palermo seemed almost deserted while we were there (mid sept 2013), so walking the distance back alone to the hotel was a bit scary. Other than that, we had no issues. Nice little BnB.

A charmingly renovated very old building, formerly some kind of convent, in the historic old town, with a very friendly and helpful owner, a pretty good breakfast, and a great location to use for a sightseeing.
We found the area being very safe, central; within walking distance to many tourist attractions and restaurants. The rooms are very nicely decorated with high ceilings. We stayed in large rooms with amazingly big shower in the bathroom and found it comfortable and quiet at night.
Breakfast start from 8am, but we should leave last day much more earlier and owner without request open and serves us before. Thank you for wonderful hospitality!!! Strongly recommend this B&B!

A nice clean well located b and b. Two issues: 1. quite noisy especially in the mornings if you want a lie in! 2. no wifi in bedrooms only in downstairs area which is kept locked all day after breakfast.

Vi ankom sent om lørdagen og blev taget godt imod. Det er et lille familiedrevet B&B med virkelig hyggelig atmosfære. Der var en lille balkon ud mod gaden, som man lige kunne knibe en stol ud på. Morgenmaden var fin og der manglede ikke noget. Lidt brød man selv kunne riste, smør, ost, pølse og skinke. Herudover yoghurt, cereals og lidt frugt.
Stedet sørgede for at vi blev hentet fra lufthavnen. Det var en rigtig sød og meget informativ chauffør.
15 meter fra stedet ligger en lille fortovscafe. Der fik vi den bedste machiati. Også dette er familiedrevet, og de var også virkelig søde.

Die Unterkunft ist zweckmäßig und ok. Einrichtung ziemlich lieblos und sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Umgebung ist super laut, aber das ist halt Palermo. Wer eine zweckmäßige Unterkunft sucht und an allen relevanten Sehenswürdigkeiten Palermos interessiert ist, ist hier genau richtig. Alles in einem Umkreis von 500-600 Metern und bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Anreise mit dem Auto erfordert starke Nerven.

Das B&B Federico Secondo ist ruhig und sehr zentral gelegen. Unser Raum entpuppte sich als kleines Appartment mit Küche & Balkon, was eine tolle Überraschung war. Die Athmosphäre in der Unterkunft war dank der großartigen Gastgeber sehr angenehm und alle Angestellten und auch die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich. Alles in allem können wir das B&B Federico Secondo wärmstens empfehlen, es ist wirklich toll gelegen - weniger als 5 Minuten Fußweg zur Kathedrale.
