This was my second stay, first was 2 years ago. Great eating options near by. The ferry to the airport is short walking distance. Front desk of check in location were bilingual and very courteous.

Rooms look old-fancy, with beautiful marble mixed with aging but intricate wood finishes. Functionally, totally fine, and I’m sure the old-fancy style is standard for Venice. No elevator, of course, for our second-story room.

The location was conveniently close to the train station, and was right on the canal with many dining options. The room was very well cleaned and nicely decorated, quiet, with means to keep the room dark in the morning.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip around Europe. Check-in was easy and the room was comfortable. We had everything we needed and the location was easy walking distance to everything that we wanted to see but was also close to a boat stop and the train station. We needed to do some laundry during our stay and there is a laundrette near the train station that is easy enough to use. We would stay here again if we visit Venice again.

Lady at the counter was a bit rude. There was an additional fee of four euros per room for both mine and the party I was traveling with. She refused to accept our credit cards for payment said it was a city tax and she needed cash only. At the time we did not have euros as of yet and she refused to take US currency. Eventually, she conceded to taking our credit card for the so-called tax but only if we paid for both rooms together

Such an interesting old hotel! In a quiet part of town which is so nice to be off the main tourist road. The room is beautifully designed and the canal view is a wonderful touch. The bed was comfortable but is not for all, could cause back issues if you don’t sleep carefully. All in all a wonderful experience!

There is work being down on the canal outside so there was some noise first thing in the morning. Safe wasn’t working in the room and we could find English channels on the tv (not the end of the world!). Not a proper shower. Just a shower head to use in the bath. Bed was quite hard but got used to it and air con worked well. Would book again!

The problem with this hotel is that the room had no heating. It seems to have been turned off given that it was late April However, I was unlucky enough to spend three days in Venice during unseasonably cold and very rainy weather. The room was like an icebox. Seriously - the thermometer got down to 15.9 Celsius one night (that’s a little under 60 Fahrenheit) but given the stone floors it felt much, much colder. And very damp. All I could do was take hot baths and stay in bed to keep warm. I hate to give a bad review to the hotel - it was clean, a good sized room, a wonderful view, nice staff and in an excellent location - but I was pretty miserable one of the nights when it was so cold. I slept with a sweater on under 3 blankets.

We wanted to stay away from the crowds but close enough to get around and this place was perfect for that. The staff are friendly and accommodate our itineraries schedule (very late check-in and very early departure). This was great for a solo traveler. The hotel is very close to one of the Orange line stops and a number of restaurants. It's not a fair walk from the rail station either, and pretty easy to find. The one downside is that the curtains don't shut all the way by design (they cover about a quarter of the window), so the room got pretty bright early in the morning. It was impossible to make a completely dark space.

Our stay was pleasant overall. One problem was that they hotel sent messages in Italian and I asked them to translate to English to no avail. They wanted us to check in and send documents ahead to get a code to enter upon arrival as no one was actually there to greet us. The overall experience at the hotel was good. The customer service was good and the staff at the hotel where very friendly and helpful.
The room however was very cramped and small. The TV is the size of a large Ipad and the beds are not the most comfortable.
The shower is also very small in which it was difficult to move. The lcoation however is great, just a 2minute walk from Guglie station. The transfer as such from the airport was very easy.

Excellent location, friendly staff, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. Bed was very hard and jacuzzi bath and aromertherapy shower didn’t work properly however as we hadn’t booked them it didn’t matter to us. Location was perfect, bars and eateries going on locally and only a short walk to the hussle and bustle and a water bus stop almost outside the hotel. Perfect and would book here again.

Somehow I accidentally booked the junior suite when I thought I was booking a standard double. So, imagine my surprise when the door was opened and I found myself with a gorgeous room with windows looking out onto the Cannaregio canal.
The room was beautiful with what I assume is traditional Venetian decorating. Our room had green accents. The Murano glass chandelier was stunning. It was an awesome experience to hang out of the window and take pictures up and down the canal. Oh, and wave to the people on the vaporetto, of course!
The mattress was a little harder than I prefer, but my bf had no issue. I'd say the only real downside was the tub with a hand-held sprayer and no shower curtain around the tub. I can't remember ever taking such a well-calculated shower as I labored not to soak the entire bathroom with one swing of the nozzle. But the water pressure was good and the water was hot.
I originally chose this hotel based on it's location. It's very easy to find from the train station and it's just far enough off the beaten path to be in a quiet area that makes you feel like you're in Venice, not just in tourist-land. There are vaporetto stops that are very close to the hotel. They came in handy as we wanted to go to Burano and the 4.2 which takes you to Fond Nove so you can catch the #12 is in easy walking distance.

Nicely located one of the canals. Breakfast on the canal was very nice but no variation...basically croissants bread abd cereal with tea and coffee abd juice. Breakfast served between 8 and 10 means early starts needs you to buy brekky elsewhere. No laundry and no elevator. Staff are very nice and helpful. Paulo (owner) is great.

It was extrimly rude men on the reception, neurotic and unpolite. For the upgrade he start to shout at us. He did not speak English and could not explain anything.

Nice hotel close to the waterbus station and 10 minutes walking to the train station. We walk 40 minutes to San Marcos Place. If you want to eat I recommend the restaurants between streets because are economic but very good.

While we only stayed one night the first impressions of this hotel was from their wonderfully helpful staff who provided luggage storage, accurate cost effective airport transfer information and clear instructions for the room. The room was very clean and well equipped. The only down side which can happen anywhere was that we were in the annexe building and had travellers checking in very late throughout the night being loud and noisy in the common areas below our room. Also there is a pump in the room bathroom which makes a loud reverberating sound every hour or so.

I can thoroughly recommend Ca' Dogaressa. This was a relatively last-minute booking, one week in advance in April 2016, for our first time in Venice. It popped up as highly recommended in Expedia, which was well deserved, close enough to the tourist attractions - 20-25 minutes walk, on a canal - Cannaregio - with just one room left, so I grabbed it. My wife and I flew from (London) Southend Airport - also first time and excellent - with EasyJet, arrived by shared water transfer to Guglie vaporetto stop, about 150 metres away, and then were lucky that the last room we had booked was a junior suite, room number 1, overlooking the canal; check out the pictures in Expedia, they do not lie. Couple of comments to set expectations: 1. no air conditioning until May (byelaw), but not needed with outside temperatures at 17-19C daytimes - windows and shutters were sufficient; 2. strictly B&B, but happy to serve coffee or breakfast in the room and there are a café, 'corner shop' and ice cream parlour within 2 minutes, many trattoria and a fruit and veg market about 5 minutes. Wonderful!

I made this reservation one hour prior to arriving in Venice. I was a concerned about my selection as I approached the building. The front looks almost abandoned, until you look upwards, past the shabby doors on the street level.VERY NICE!! I felt welcome upon arrival, and was shown to my upgraded room, since the room I had booked was not available. Another wonderful surprise! The room was quite large, and the bathroom was HEAVENLY. Jacuzzi tub, beautiful Italian tile, a separate rain shower. The windows had beautiful drapes in Venetian style, and windows that were easy to open, to take in the ambience of the Grand Canal. Since I was solo, I did close the shutters on the outside, and pulled the drapes at, but felt silly when I awoke the next morning to find a lovely neighborhood already waking up and starting to prepare for the tourists to arrive at the boat docks. There was a computer available for loan. I did print a voucher from my mobile, and when I arrived in the morning for breakfast, the front desk gentleman handed me my print-out! The water taxi departs from close enough to walk in two minutes, but not so close that people will be right outside your window waiting for it. I had dinner just two blocks toward the water taxis. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed and comfortable, especially while traveling without my husband or our dog! I could go on an on. Just book the hotel if you're lucky enough to find a room.

The other room was literally about 3 feet from mine. I could hear everything at night and in the morning trying to sleep. People talking through the street, people coming in and out of the building and Especially my neighbor. Also there was plumbing that would get stuck and a flushing noise every 5 seconds. It was not a peaceful stay.
But if you're going to spend only a few hours in your room sleeping or napping, it should work out for you.

It was in an annex building, an apartment with 2 different rooms and we had 1room with bed and bathroom, shared the kitchen. However we never saw our neighbor and had no problem.
