Clean and well presented. Some wear and tear in the room but that doesn't bother us. As long as we have a comfortable bed and a clean place to rest and refresh we are happy. Locanda del Ghetto offered just that. It's a lovely little place on a quiet square away from the crowds. Owners were super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. We would stay her again for sure.

We had an amazing stay here. The hosts are so friendly and engaging, the rooms are great, location is phenomenal - 10mins from station and 5mins from bustling tourist areas but quiet and tranquil at night and in the mornings. You are staying where locals are rather than the main tourist spots. Recommendations for restaurants were great and the breakfast provided each morning of coffee, multiple pastries, bread, yoghurt, muesli and fruit was everything you need to fuel up to explore Venice. When we return in the future we won't bother even looking for anywhere else.

Having looked at many other options for our first stay in Venice, we felt really fortunate that we booked Locanda del Ghetto, as we couldn't fault anything about this hotel. The owners, Anna and Emiliano, were extremely helpful and gracious - nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The breakfast we had every morning was delicious, as mentioned in other reviews, and the square is a lovely and peaceful location but also great for easy access to the livelier areas for bars and restaurants. Our little balcony was an added bonus at the beginning and end of each day. We would not hesitate to recommend the Locanda to family and friends.

We cannot say enough about this hotel. The hotel was lovely. Situated in the Jewish ghetto, it is located in a fascinating historic district and is nicely off the beaten tourist path, but still near all of the major attractions. Anna and Emiliano are exceedingly kind, helpful, and accommodating. If we return to Venice, we absolutely will stay here (or recommend it to any family or friends). 10/10.

This small hotel is good. The staff is nice and it is clean. We stay there for one night. We like it. It is also well located to major attractions, and there are many restaurants nearby.

This area is unique in Venice: uncrowded, pleasant and quiet. The major drawback of this place is the breakfast which consist of mediocre juice, a croissant, cornflakes and coffee. We had the largest room in the place and it was fine, but others were not so lucky. On the other hand there was an excellent restaurant next door, the locals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the community atmosphere including a celebration with singing and dancing. All this made up for any defects of the hotel!

The breakfast was very basic and not enjoyable. It included very stale bread rolls and croissants with Jams and a box of cereal.
The rooms are old and outdated and very dark. It just felt dirty and the air seemed dusty,. The beds weren't so comfortable, but ok, We found some hairs in our bed. There were some tiles missing in our shower.

It was a very convenient place to stay. It was clean, quiet, so the rooms were sufficient. There was an elevator, altho' somewhat slow. We stayed there twice-a week apart. The air-conditioning was sufficient. The desk clerks were as helpful as they could be. We found out from other sources that we could arrange porters to assist us with luggage either to the train station, cruise, or water-bus. The room with the bath was lovely, but the room with the shower was unusual as the shower door left a gap so the floor got quite wet. The toilet seats were wiggly. The lights in the hallway was on Friday night (not on automatic), but unfortunately, they were on automatic on saturday - our sabbath - when we are NOT supposed to put lights on. We left our keys at the desk, but on one occasion the desk clerk was not there so we retrieved our own key.

This hotel is away from big tourist areas which is great because it's quieter, things are cheaper, and there are less people. It's a 12 min walk to the train station and about 15 from where the airport bus drops off so no need to take an expensive water taxi. This hotel is open 24hrs and you leave your key at the front desk so you don't need to worry about losing your key. Breakfast is included which includes a basket of bread and croissants, jams and butter, cereal, juice, and coffee. Our room had a balcony which was a really nice surprise! Big bathtub in the bathroom. Large bed, a bit too soft and bouncy of a bed for my preference, but it was clean and organized. Overall the condition was a bit shabby, some stains on the wall and overall wear on the building and room was visible. The wifi was also on the slow side.

The area is quite awesome it's in the heart of the ghetto. It feels very old, but still nice. Breakfast was nice you sit down they bring you pastries and cornflakes, but it feels calm and tasty. My only issue is they like you to return keys to the front desk each time you leave

Convieniently located just a 15 min walk from the transport interchange, in a quiet little historic ghetto, this is a little gem. The included breakfast provided some relief from the high cost of Venice. Close to all the attractions and a water bus stop is only 50 m from the hotel. Staff are lovely.

Quiet location in Jewish ghetto. Away from all the tourists and busyness of Venice. We had a large room with a sunny terrace which was nice to have. It was noisy in the square in the afternoon-children playing and people visiting. Very old building but well kept. The included breakfast was the worst we had in 4 other areas if Italy- not much offered.

Locanda del Ghetto was a fantastic little hotel located in the Jewish Ghetto area of Venice. It's slightly off the beaten path but still close to station and all the sites. I'd recommend to any friends going to Venice.

Room OK but breakfast very ordinary
We enjoyed our stay here, the room was adequate, clean and location good, we slept in every day because it was so quiet. They do not change your towels every day but perhaps it's a case of \"you get what you pay for\" and Venice is expensive so we didn't have a problem with this on our 3 night stay as their prices are moderate. Staff were all nice and very helpful. The breakfast is ordinary, not buffet and the only choice of cereal is a small box of cornflakes to be shared between two and bread rolls/croissant. On the second day we bought a packet of muesli at a local deli and bananas and brought this down for breakfast so that we could have the healthy energy filled type breakfast we are used to back home. Italians aren't big breakfast people as we are in Australia so I wouldn't let this put you off staying here!

The reception and dining room is on the lower floor, the rooms are on the second (they would say first) floor. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quite large, the bed firm, and the bathroom completely furnished, even including Kleenex. The low point was breakfast: two rolls, a croissant, jam and butter, coffee, and Kellogg's corn flakes. The walls are thin, too, so sounds come in. Nearby was a good meat restaurant, Gam Gam, not expensive (and Kosher, if that is important), several other trattorias, and the Ponte Guglia vaporetto stop. Note: if you're going to use the vaporetto more than once or twice, think about a two-day pass. Not cheap (30 Euros/person), but cheap when compared to paying 7.50 Euros per trip. Or walk. From the hotel to the Rialto Bridge is 20 minutes, and St. Mark's Square is maybe 25. The

Dont be fooled by the exterior of this building, it is old with character but once inside you will be pleasantly surprised. location quiet and tucked away. close to some fantastic eateries but easy to get anywhere in Venice by foot. only negative points were in our room 15 bidet was right in doorway making entry into bathroom a little awkward and the bed was too firm for us.

A lovely little hotel
For a short stay this hotel was ideal. We had a junior suite looking out on to the square and the room was more than adequate. It had a lovely balcony with table and chairs so great to sit out with a drink and watch the activity below. Whilst I've stayed in larger junior suites we only stayed for 3 nights so this was fine. There wasn't a shower curtain around the bath which meant the tiled floor got pretty wet and the high level wall light fitting in the bathroom had lost it's cover which meant there were bare wires showing. Other than these points, no complaints with the room. The bed was comfy and a safe was provided in the wardrobe. Wi-fi was very expensive so this would have definitely put me off if I hadn't got an alternative - I had a 3g dongle. Breakfast was OK but nothing more - just a basic continental offering.
All the staff were expectationally friendly and helpful so no complaints there and right next door is a bar / restaurant which was very convenient.

This is a great little place off the beaten path a bit - a little difficult to find, but well worth it. The Jewish Ghetto is a great little area located just a few minutes off of the Grand Canal, easily accessible from some of the other smaller canals, and is a really interesting cultural area, even for a Gentile! The square has a lot of charm, includes a great little restaurant adjacent to the hotel, and a number of great bars and restaurants just across the square and over a canal. The staff was very helpful and spoke great English, which was a big help, as we do not know much Italian. My only complaint is that the hotel is a little stingy with the WiFi - one hour of free WiFi is included with the room - any additional time has to be purchased. This is the first time I have encountered such a policy, and I travel often. That being said - everything you could possibly want is probably within a 30 min walk, and if that is too long, access to water buses and water taxis is quite easy. Would gladly stay here again!

We wanted somewhere on Venice Central that offered good quality accommodation at a reasonable price - not easy to find. But the Locanda was great for all of these. It's v close to all the hustle and bustle of Venice but offers a quiet location at the end of the day. The hotel was spotless and the welcome v friendly. Would definitely return.

Run on a shoestring, but charged much more than other local better hotels.

Hidden Gem!
The hotel was very easy to find once we knew which way to walk from the train station. It's in a large square right next to a restaurant. The outside of the hotel has the same look at the rest of the buildings, which looks old and run down (to me as an American) but the inside was beautiful! The front desk service was very nice and very helpful. They even let us use the computer to confirm our plane information so we didn't have to pay for the WiFi. The bed was comfortable and there was extra pillows and blankets in the closet if we needed. The bathroom was totally updated with plenty of hot water for the shower!

Neat for people watching as tour groups pass through, but in the afternoon residents gather and visit. Go for the junior suite overlooking the square with the balcony. This was my mom's first visit to Italy and she was just SO IMPRESSED with this hotel. The perfect place to stay so you don't just end up observing other tourists all day. The staff speaks very good English and was ready to tell you everything you need to know to make your stay comfortable and accommodating. Upupa restaurant downstairs and Al Faro bar around the corner were excellent and welcoming.

Very quiet room, comfortable bed and very clean. Could have done with some tea/coffee making facilities though. Helpful staff and a very pleasant stay - we stayed for four nights. Easy walking distance to vaporetto and train station and about 25 mins walk to major sites, but you need a map to find your way around. Restaurants close by - one even next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Hotel - Lovely Owners!
The owners of this hotel were amazing! I contacted them before my stay to let them know we would be arriving at about midnight, and to ask the best way from the airport to them. They sent full details of how to get there, and the reception was manned 24/7 so there was someone waiting for us when we arrived. The hotel is lovely and comfortable - and airconned which was amazing in the July heat!! Definitely recommend staying there again!

We needed a triple occupancy room. The room we got was equipped with a king size bed and a single bed. The king size bed was OK but I slept on the single bed which was simply horrible. You couldn't sleep on it. The mattress was not a bed mattress. It looks to me that it was a sun bath long chair top mattress (with a ridge running along the width). That's really my main issue with this hotel but it might just apply to this room in particular.

Lovely stay in quiet area
Venice in July can be hectic, overcrowded and hot. But not at the Locanda del Ghetto. My single room was quiet, cool (air conditioned) and comfortable. You do have to pay for Internet access (9 euros for 2 hours), but breakfast is plentiful (apricot croissant, two white rolls served with butter, jam and honey, your choice of tea or American coffee with hot or cold milk, orange juice, and Corn Flakes) and served with a smile. The neighborhood is very quiet; there is a palatable cafe next door. I enjoyed my stay and was glad for a calm retreat after the bustle of St. Mark's Square.

In general it's a very nice hotel; at convenient location and at reasonable price; the room was big and clean; we even had a small balcony with table and chair. The only disappointment was the fact that they charge for wi-fi which these days most hotels I've stayed in Italy (at least outside Venice) provide for free.

It is the same as you see it on internet, room are big, bath room good. The bath room shower door does not work, the hotel reception man was very nice but the women was not so nice so talk to the guy if you need something. It is hard to find this hotel so get a GPS on your smart phone. The price is OK but I would stay in a hotel closer to station next time.
