Nice hotel in an excellent location. Very clean, friendly staff. Little issues in the room that make this rather a 4 star hotel, based on our experience with 5 star ones. For example sound insulation (we could hear noises through the door); sink hole cover getting stuck; the bed mattress was on the cheap side with no topper. One of the Managers (Sara) was very sweet and professional, and offered us to move to the presidential suite, but the mattress was the same and we decided to stay in our room. Breakfast was good. Free water taxi to Murano island, the visit to the glass (or rather crystal) factory was amazing.

This hotel is right near the dock that lets you off from the Airport. Walk around the corner and you are there. It is in a quieter part of Venice which is a plus, but you can walk anywhere.

Exceeded our expectations! Being the first stop from the airport via watertaxi was a huge bonus, the Cannaregio neighborhood is one of the most underrated in Venice. The garden in the back of the hotel is an experience in and of itself, left us speechless, couldn’t believe it when we first walked through. Definitely recommend.

Atop St. Mark’s Clock Tower, you will see one of the only gardens in all of Venice
A 17th century marvel that is the home of the NH COLLECTION PALAZZO DEI DOGI.
Staying here, walking the grounds, sipping a spritz on the private patio, before stepping out onto the dock to be whisked away to the Grand Canal, or some adventure-
is truly a princely experience. If you are lucky enough to book the Presidential Suite - you will have a
breath-taking view of the lagoon, from two magnificent floors, which will make it hard to leave your rooms at all. Yet, every room and cottage has it’s unique charms. The staff is truly proud of this wondrous place, and their Venetian heritage. We could not have been more pampered, better guided, cared for or more delighted to be their guests. The location is quiet, and the nearby bars and restaurants are abuzz with sophisticated locals, enjoying life. A short walk, and a bridge or two away from all the major attractions - this was truly a memorable experience. Thank you, each and all.

Beautiful, quaint hotel with a beautiful garden area and lovely villa right on the back bay. Doorman (wish I had his name) is phenomenal! Room “upgrade” was interesting as we had small ship pieces of the old ceiling fall on us multiple times while sleeping and we terminated 5-6 mosquitoes over the 2 nights. Coffee and tea replenishment needs to be more consistent, we got decaf coffee only and no replacement of herbal tea or water.

I have been staying at this hotel for over twenty years but this last stay was the first time with the NH ownership and I can say that they have continued the tradition of this grand hotel. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful staff who are professional, friendly and attentive. We love the location as it is quiet and away from the maddening crowds of Venice yet is easily walkable to the main areas of the city.

The hotel was in an ideal location for our trip with a convenient vaparetto stop located around the corner. The room, staff and service we received were all excellent, though the bar area could have been better staffed. We could walk to all the neighbourhoods we wanted to visit, and also enjoyed exploring the quieter streets, canals and squares immediately around the hotel. A perfect spot for a couple, with easy access to all Venice has to offer.

Hotel is very nice, beautiful gardens but the rooms are a bit old not looking super clean. Staff was friendly but I expected a much better experience from a 4 star hotel. Location is good if you want to be completely away from the crowds, only negative is the time it takes taking the vaporetto to San Marks area. You are a short vaporetto trip to Murano and closer to the train station. We liked that it was pretty secluded and quiet.

We loved staying here because it was away from the crowds and near to the first Alilaguna ⛴️ first stop from the airport.

Brilliant customer service on arrival. We paid a high fee for 4 nights with child in early April 2024. Breakfast is €25 per person.

We stayed in the junior suite (403). A lovely balcony top floor room. The sink in the bathroom is strange as ½ of it is enclosed under a mirror. The shower tap was broken, but usable. Very hot on demand 😃

The views are lovely as is the hotel gardens! It is a 3-minute walk from the boat station.

No bottled water in the room! 😔

A bit disappointing to check out with a double bar bill; hopefully will be rectified soon.

A Hidden Gem

We are a family of 3 and stayed in the junior suite on the top floor for 2 nights. The unit is quite spacious and well appointed. The bathroom is modern with heated towel racks.

Everyone here is welcoming and attentive. Breakfast has a vast selection of fruit, yogurt, omelet, veggies, cheeses and bakeries.

The location is a bit off the beaten path, but it doesn't take long to walk to Piazza de San Marco or take Vaporreti (No.4.1, 4.2 and 5.1 and 5.2 is the closest on the lagoon side) there are plenty of eateries around - we particularly liked the pizza place (cross two bridges on the right) and La Colombina (Michelin Star).

Overall, a pleasant experience!

The hotel and grounds are quite nice. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of San Marco and tourist district yet many, many great dining and shopping options. It is walkable to the main tourist attractions bland there is also a daily shuttle boat directly from the hotel. The room was recently renovated and done very well. The website images do not do the property justice. It is a very nice property and feels very upscale and affordable prices for Venice.

This hotel was perfect for us. It is right on one of the canals but in a quieter part of Venice. There were still plenty of restaurants and shopping to choose from, but it wasn't overly crowded like it is down by the grand canal. We took a water taxi over to the other side of the island and did St. Mark's Square, and we just walked back through town to our hotel. The staff was friendly, and the continental breakfast was good. The staff scheduled us a water taxi to the airport and a gondola ride. It was great!

This hotel was a palace at some point. Unfortunately, it has not been updated since then. Instead of keeping up with the times it seems like they’re just keeping the profits in their pockets. old air conditioning barely works and they blamed it on the electrical shortage because of the war with Ukraine. The door in the bathroom would shut unless it was pushed and when we did that I got locked inside!!!
I told staff about this and they sent someone upstairs he suggested I don’t close the door! What kind of resolution is that!?? Who uses the bathroom without closing a Door?
Staff was helpful trying to arrange a ride to the airport and even walked our luggage to the water taxi area while we waited for the allylaguna.
I would NOT recommend this hotel AT ALL even though it’s in beautiful Venice.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Very fairly priced and incredible. The ambiance is spectacular. The breakfast was amazing as well. Only thing to note is it is a walk to the main San Marco square but the hotel is very quiet and not crowded- so if you want to stay away from the tourists and crowd this is the place!! I can not recommend this hotel enough. Every time we asked for a specific amenity it was in our room under 5 minutes. Amazing hotel!!!

The location is nice and quiet. Staff was able to help us coordinate transportation once we arrived; however, did not reply to an inquiry about transport to the hotel. Now that we know, having a taxi to the hotel would have been ideal and wish they would have helped us coordinate that. On one evening the bartender seemed put out by our drink order so on the second night only one of our friends ordered a drink and the bartender was friendly that night. Overall would recommend the hotel!

Total disappointment! \"Fake Fancy\" save your $$$

What an utter disappointment. When you pay over $650 per night, expectations are high. The following complaints wouldn't be an issue if they didn't claim 5 stars. Felt more like a motel 6. We arrive after a long flight, and there's no doorman, greeting, nor offer of even water. We're ignored for the first 10 min we stand in the lobby, finally we get a basic acknowledgement and checkin experience. Go to the room, it's okay, but the light in the hallway doesn't work, so it's dark, and the bathroom door doesn't close! I ask for a different room but they tell me they need to verify the door issue. Ok... So a guy comes, trys to get it to close for 5 minutes, finally gets it closed by slamming it incredibly hard, and tells us there's no issue. So I go complain again, and the receptionist looks at me and says the guy said everything was fine. No offers or attempts at \"Service recovery\" but I insist as it's our honeymoon, so finally they offer a different room for our next night. Next morning realize the coffee maker wasn't cleaned, and spent 15 minutes trying to take out the jammed old pods, to get it to work. So we move rooms day 2, and second room is fine. We realize our first room was also missing cream, and water bottles.

Through the whole time, it would have super easy and simple to offer a bottle of wine, or a free breakfast, or really ANYTHING you would expect from a hotel claiming 5 stars, but we got better service in our airbnb before and after this fail of a hotel.

The hotel has a great location to walk to everything for us, travel by boat to the airport and so many great restaurants only 5 minutes away walking. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the large garden at breakfast time. They have an optional shuttle boat to Murano (sponsored by the shop) and paid boats to San Marcos square. We miss the rood already.

The hotel is great. The staff are so lovely. They have made us feel so welcome and cared for.
The room is big especially for Europe. The bathroom is beautiful and modern and the bed is very comfortable. The area is hip and just slight off the beaten path which makes it amazing for getting away from crowds. The hotel is beautiful and the garden is stunning.
Breakfast is great and a good price.
The only caveat is because of construction there is no restaurant for the evening which is really only a challenge if you have a young child and limited time to go further out and get food.
All in all an excellent stay and great value.

They are in the renovation stages, so restaurant was closed, and the bar offered a limited selection. The neighbourhood is quiet, and the hotel is easy to get to by water taxi from the airport. I would definitely stay there again. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
