The reception staff is lovely especially Ricardo. The room was a total disappointment. There is a nightclub next door and you can hear the party nonstop every evening. Breakfast was so so. The staff is really disorganized and there was one gentleman super attentive but rest of the staff was a bit rude. You’d order orange juice and never get it! We did 5 days of this and while the location is convenient there are better hotel options with top service, comfort and amenities. This hotel was a real disappointment for the brand. They didn’t think through the details.

Lovely property right in the middle of all the action. Staff were excellent - warm, welcoming and professional. Breakfast choices were plentiful - the Eggs Benedict very tasty - with fresh squeezed juices, and great coffee. Our highest recommendation is that we will stay there again on our next visit to Lisbon.

Stylish, centrally located hotel with helpful staff. The only negative was the restaurant, which, unusually for a Relais and Chateau property, wasn't good. The food was heavy and tasteless, and the music was so loud it was hard to hold a conversation. Breakfast, however, was fine.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by a wonderful staff. They were just great!! They arranged transportation for us as needed. The breakfast was wonderful in the mornings with again very nice staff! Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay. It is situated on the main avenue which made it a central location for walking to most things and obviously every store you could imagine if you like to shop.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and I have never experienced such amazing customer service, 24/7, from everyone. It really was remarkable. When we couldn’t figure out the lights one morning, I called and they were there in minutes! One early morning we stepped out and it was raining a bit and one of the guys ran after us and brought us an umbrella! The location was great for us to get around to most places by foot. Easy to taxi/uber anywhere else!

One last thing- the bed was amazing! Super comfortable.

What an oasis Hotel Valverde is! Welcoming front desk, beautiful garden dining with friendly wait staff, and tasty food. The location is perfect. Step outside and walk right or left to experience the delights of Lisbon. Our room was comfortable and calming. And if you require anything, the staff will go all out for you with smiling faces. WONDERFUL LISBON HOTEL

The hotel has a super location and one can walk everywhere. The stay was like being in someone’s residence. Very warm and welcoming snd beautifully decorated. Food and drinks were great. Best negronis I have had and artfully presented. Best of all the staff are wonderful. Very friendly and helpful making sure all your needs are met. I would recommend to my friends and be happy to stay on another trip to Lisbon.

Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Boutique, quiet, stylish. Staff was amazing and our room was beautiful. Loved the balcony, abiity to bring in fresh air, and it was a great size for us 2. We had drinks in the front living room both nights, and really enjoyed the whole space the hotel offers. My only (small) complaint was it was raining a lot for our trip, and the balcony is designed such that the rain can make a decent amount of noise (when sleeping!). But it doesn't rain much in Lisbon - so we were just the unlucky ones to get a rain streak! Def would recommend the hotel again!

Having stayed at many relais chateux hotels, this was in some ways disappointing. The hotel was lovely and the room excellent. There were a number of stairs with no hand rail which was awkward, due to my mobility issues. The breakfast service was really poor, very slow and limited options like other relais hotels. The pool service didnt work, so you had to go down in the lift to the bar and order which was also very slow. Location ia good and the pool was lovely ( even though it wasnt cleaned and not enough towels).

Wonderful hotel, centrally positioned on a beautiful avenue of expensive shops. Very well positioned for visiting all the sights of Lisbon. Room very comfortable and food at breakfast and in the restaurant is excellent. Lovely areas to sit out and enjoy a peaceful drink. All the staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. The hotel location is great - it’s in a very nice location and easy to walk to many restaurants and sites. The room (classic double) was very dark and small - the bathroom was also v dark and didn’t seem to have the same air conditioning as the bedroom and so was hot. The TV was average in quality - not a big thing but for a hotel of this quality I would have expected better. The breakfast was very limited - you could order eggs and pancakes, but there was no bacon or other hot foods in the buffet. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and clearly committed to very good service. This hotel is in a great location - but we stayed at a hotel closer to the water a couple of weeks ago that was much better value, better quality and much bigger space and I would trade that for 5 minutes longer walk to get to the main restaurants and tourist sites.

Valverde is a beautiful hotel, good location the reception staff were very friendly and nice.
However their were a few issues with service, usb on one side of the bed did not work, TV did not work, nice to get slipper but they were very small sizes, toilet kept running, we had to call room service numerous items , they were very nice and came to fix the items but it was just annoying after a while to keep calling for things.
Although the reception is very nice I think in the future they should provide tips to their guests on things we would not know. For example we had asked about going to Sintra, they told us about getting their and purchasing tickets ahead of time. Which we did however when we got there the weather was really bad. Our taxi driver told us Sintra has a very weird Micro weather system and often has odd weather. And unfortunately we did not dress properly, weather in Lisbon was warm, Sintra it was cold, windy, rainy. Due to that purchasing tickets in advance was a waste as everyone had to stand in the same long line.
It would have been good for the hotel to have told us to be aware of the weather even though Lisbon and Sintra are 30 mins away the weather is completely different.
Overall it was a nice stay, a couple of items they can get better on.

Absolutely loved this boutique hotel. From the moment you walk in, the scent is amazing. The staff is wonderfully attentive and responsive. The rooms are very cozy. The bed linens are luxurious. The bathroom and shower so great and the towels are on a warmer! Morning breakfast was delicious with wonderful small pastries and a choice of eggs, pancakes, etc. - all wonderful small bites. We had dinner here one night, too which was excellent. The hotel’s location on the main avenue is great, too. I love using Fodor’s for recommendations when I travel which is where I got the hotel. Excellent recommendation!

We just loved this boutique property on the main drag in Lisbon. The staff could not have been better! Incredibly accommodating and just all around great service. The smell of the hotel was wonderful and relaxing. The rooms are wonderful-great bedding and bathroom (with towel warmers!). Dinner at Sitio was really wonderful and so was the daily breakfast. Highly recommend!

My wife and I just got home from a long weekend in Lisbon and we had a wonderful time. Part of what made our trip so great was our stay at Hotel Valverde. A beautiful hotel steps from shopping and amazing dining options but still quiet and relaxing. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The concierge Ruben was simply the best, he helped us with reservations, suggestions and everything we could of asked for. I would highly recommend a stay at this wonderful hotel.

The hotel restaurant plays loud music until midnight. This seems odd given many want to sleep and the restaurant has only a few patrons. Next the cleaning staff should not run shop vacs in the courtyard starting at 6am. It’s especially noisy. Finally there is an outside party that goes on several doors down. That party has loud thumping music until 4am on Friday and Saturday. Everything else about the hotel is nice.

The hotel was excellent. Location was very convenient. You could easily walk to most locations in downtown Lisbon or take the metro which was basically across the street from the hotel and that would get you to a number of places easily. It was far if you wanted to visit Belem but it was easy to either get an Uber or have the hotel arrange for a taxi. The service at the hotel was excellent. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and I thought we had a good amount of space for a room in a city hotel. My only negative was the breakfast buffet. The service was great and the food was very good, there just wasn’t a large variety of things except for the pastries. But we were still happy with what we had at the buffet. I would absolutely stay here again if I return to Lisbon.

This hotel should be the example for other hotels. The amenities, decor, rooms, facilities are impeccable. However what really puts it on a higher level is the staff. From the moment I checked in to the moment I left , every single staff member were helpful, friendly , professional , and well versed in the area and the hotel.

The hotel has a lovely pool area for a city property, many quiet sitting rooms to take a port and relax.

There is an oasis in the back for cocktails and breakfast.

It really is an outstanding hotel tucked away on a fabulous high end shopping area.

The staff is young but professional. An older couple and a young couple would be very comfortable here.

I cannot give enough accolades
To the staff. They made my stay in Lisbon even more

A wonderful staff, extremely knowledgeable and helpful in every way. Breakfasts were wonderful and served in the beautiful courtyard. Dinner at Sitiu was delightful. Our main complaint was how dark the rooms and hallways were. We were in the old section with a large room but the lighting was very challenging!! An update would be so helpful. Also since it was a Relais&Chateau property we expected the toiletries to be refreshed and refilled on a regular basis. Small complaint that could easily be rectified. Highly recommend this lovely hotel in a great location in Lisbon.

Overall a nice property. Outstanding location and large room. They had just reopened after being closed for 15 months. Had issues with our air conditioner and shower in the older building, and a disappointing dinner at the restaurant. Staff was more than willing to address our needs and make sure we had an acceptable stay. Would visit again in future. Included breakfast is one of the best we ever had.

One of the Best Hotels Ever

For someone who travels a lot it is not often that I am surprised by a hotel. The Valverde is about as good as a European hotel can get. While I was in a suite, all of the rooms were large and very well appointed. The food was outstanding, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. And you cannot beat the location in the heart of Lisbon.

However, what really sets this hotel apart is the service. I have rarely seen a staff go out of their way like the staff at the Valverde, making sure that my wife and I were comfortable, giving great directions and recommendations, and even little thing like holding an umbrella over her when we got into an Uber.

The only negative was a blown light bulb in a lamp and some minor housekeeping issues.

This is one hotel that i will be happy to stay at again!

Everything was good except breakfast service attitude. The staff in breakfast hall was not very attentive, 8 out of 10 time they are behind the counter and chatting instead of asking customer if they need anything.

We always have to ask for water or additional tea or butter instead of they are initiating the need.

We had a gorgeous suite that had a beautiful view over the Alfama area. The suite had fantastic interior features such as bluetooth Harman-Kardon speaker, automated curtains and automated blinds, and plenty of sitting area. It was most enjoyable, we hardly wanted to leave the suite!

We were treated like royalty when we checked in. We were offered water, and we sat down and chatted about our stay. We asked about what to do in the area and we received a detailed explanation with the map on things to do and see. Everyone was so friendly. We enjoyed a meal and jazz night in our first night and fado and drinks on our second night.

What is not to like about this place. It is a boutique hotel of five stars (soon expanding from 25 rooms to 48 rooms) with exceptional services, beautiful rooms, wonderful breakfast and an elegant ambience. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting. It is in an excellent location where we easily walked everwhere. We are already planning to return to Lisbon and would not consider staying anywhere else.

Fantastic hotel, with superb, helpful staff and a great breakfast. Also really liked the outdoor courtyard for a drink. Location is perfect for exploring Lisbon, which we certainly did!

We had the junior suite which was a lovely room - only minor complaints would be no tea making facilities and no mirror above the desk/dressing table for my wife to do her make up.

Quite wonderful. A peaceful oasis in the heart of bustling Lisbon. The staff are exceptionally helpful and the hotel, though small, is beautifully decorated. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to return.

The hotel is centrally located enabling you to get to any destination.
The staff were very attentive and tried their best to help you enjoy your stay in Lisbon. Breakfast was excellent with fresh well prepared food.
