Had a great stay, very nice hostel. It’s huge, has several kitchens, and a gym! It’s easy to get to from the airport and everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. There’s tona of restaus and cafes nearby. I stayed in a private room, and it was roomy, and clean. The ppl at reception are nice, and helpful. There’s something going on every day. Highly recommend.

Everyone was friendly and fun. Water bottle got snatched, or trashed, no big deal, i shouldn't have left it in a shared space. Frat vibes a bit after hours. Noticed more men than women hanging out in the evenings, but all types of people were there including families. Met a few cool people and glad i stayed. Beds are comfy, felt safe, close to lots of places to eat, grocery stores, Metro and even a little skatepark.

I booked a private bedroom With a private bathroom .I checked in at 2 am , super tired, first they wanted to offer me a bedroom with a bathroom in the hallway since the bathroom inside the ensuite was broken. I refused since I paid for a private ensuite. So they put me in a private ensuite , that had mold all over the ceiling with a horrible mold smell! It was already 3 am and I had to spend the night, the next day they promised to move me .By the evening they moved me to another private , but the heater was broken , so I was freezing all night as I couldn't use the dusty smelling blanket and just slept in my clothes and jacket . the staff is nice and helpful and the hostel is very social , however that comes with a lot of noise . So pick carefully .

Overall is a good hostel, many spaces, different areas, good kitchen, friendly staff, so i rate 5 stars that.

Unfortunately, the beds are TERRIBLE. Seriously, how do you put an aluminum plate under every mattress?that sounds so loud at a minimum movements making impossible to sleep. The floor is very noisy too, so basically you won't be able to sleep. The upper bunks don't have fence so you could easily fall from bed.

Lockers are good, toilets were overall clean but no soap.

Please get rid of those beds and your hostel will become the best in Santiago

Staff members are friendly and helpful. There is a bar on the property which occasionally gives out free pisco sour. The room is not spacious, and there aren't a lot of amenities, but it is what you'd expect from a hostel. The location is good, being close to a Metro station and several dining options. Overall the experience is pleasant.

Short stay in Santiago

A friend and I stayed at Hostal Providencia for 4 nights as part of a trip around south America and I can thoroughly recommend it. It is a lively hostel around 15mins walk from some of the key tourist spots in Santiago through perfectly safe areas. There is a very good free buffet breakfast and usually something going on in the bar area in the evenings, though we were taking drinks out to the quieter garden/yard area. You're not allowed to bring your own drinks in, but the prices in the bar are very reasonable (6000 Pesos for a bottle of wine, I think). The reception staff are very helpful and can book taxis (agreed rates for things like airport transfers), suggest places to visit and during the day a rep is available to book tours, excursions etc. with a number of tour operators.

My friend and I shared a private twin room with a shared bathroom at the end of the hall. The bedroom was fine, plenty of space and quiet at night (I'm not sure how noise didn't travel up from the bar, but it didn't) and there was always at least one bathroom free when we needed them.

If/when I ever come back to Santiago I would happily stay here again.

location is good being a short walk from a metro station and the main nightlife area, in fact the main areas of santiago can be reached by foot from here. the hostel staff were great, there was always a clean bathroom free, the room was spacious enough. entrance/exit from the hostel seemed secure. there is a nice chillout area to have drinks in during the evening.they also provide tours, the one I did was reasonably priced and in a small group so felt like good value for money.

This place is one of the best. They manage the hostel in a customer-center way. Staff are friendly and helpful. They even have a staff to organize local tours. Breakfast is wonderful, with lots of different fruits to choose. Kitchen is well equiped for self catering. Dorm rooms are spacious and ventilation is enough even when the room is full. Every bed is equipped with socket and light which is good for charging gadgets.

I stayed at Hostal Providencia after examining MANY different options in just a few weeks ago. I checked in late, and after emailing the hostal a few times to tell them about this, I found using their \"whats app\" the best option. The check in was easy, and the place was actually rather quiet during this time (1 am...always a curiosity when staying at a hostal). The place is gigantic, which is super helpful when trying to organize those who want to sleep from those who do not. I stayed in a private room which was lovely, with a bathroom across. My only challenge was that there was a part of the floor missing outside my room. The staff did put a rug over it later on to accommodate those who might trip. Breakfast had cereal, some fruit, coffee, juice, and bread. The location was prime, and it really couldn't be beat. I was about 5 minutes from a subway, and central for all my walking excursions. All in all I was actually quite pleased for my first \"hostal\" experience. Totally worth it.

We stayed in a twin room at Hostal Providencia for 1 night in October. The customer service was excellent - we were given a full introduction and tour of the hostel when we arrived. Apparently it is the largest hostel in Chile and the second largest in South America!
As we were only stopping over for 1 night prior to leaving Chile, we were just wanting a good night's sleep. Due to its size, we were a little concerned that it would be noisy, however we both slept very well and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the next morning - bread, fruit, cereal, tea/coffee and eggs.
Overall, it was a lovely hostel and I would definitely stay again if I returned to Santiago

Great hostel with amazing staff! Just a minute from the main streets of Providencia which means the hotel is far enough away from the noise of the city, but less than 5 minutes walk away. Free international calls with their Skype phone, and cheap or free food/drinks/activities every single night. Had a great stay! Breakfast was very basic, but still good enough to get your day started right.
Most importantly, it is a 10 minute walk from Bellavista area which is beautiful - great restaurants and bars!

Comfortable Hostel Stay

Hostal Providencia is a centrally located (near Baquedano Metro) hostal with friendly service and a continual wave of international newcomers ready to make friends with nightly sing-a-longs (in Spanish, of course), and cook your own facilities with the basics provided at breakfast. The rooms are spacious enough, and the cleaning service sufficient. Safe, clean and congenial digs for a great price, with several kinds of room available. When repairs need to happen, they are turned around in 24-48 hours. I returned for a couple different stays, and each time had no complaints and all needs met. Not fancy, but the price makes long term travel easy!

Very dissappointed in this hostal. Room tiny (was booked as \"deluxe\"), curtains falling down, dirty, no elevator up to 3rd/ 4th floor. constuction was occurring in the wing the room was located. Reception staff although pleasant and helpful were always extremely busy and I had to queue for a considerable time to get attention. Definitely not good value for the price. Only saving grace was the great included breakfast...eggs, cereal, bread, fruit, juice, coffee

Hostal could do with some TLC. Bed was comfortable, Water was hot but shower needs attention. The bedding was clean but the room needed attention. We arrived on a late flight and I had e-mailed and asked the hostal to arrange transport, which they say they can do BUT in my case did not. We were given a room beside the dining room which we thought a little insensitive considering we arrived in at 1.30am and breakfast started at 7am.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

The first thing you notice is very nice personnel who speak better English than the reception of airport Hilton does. The second thing - the property is huge and somewhat worn out. But after 5 nights I got used to it.
The crowd is mixed - both backpackers and mature couples. There are both dorms and private room at the property.
I wish there was a walking tour on offer, these things are more fun than a van from Chiletour. In general, I wish there were better tours on offer. But I don't know whether there is anything better available in Santiago.

Poderiam adaptar varal móvel para toalhas, acaba ficando na cama e sem ventilação fica ruim com muito tempo.

O Hostel fica muito bem localizado em Santiago, perto de cafeterias, parques, mercados… tem um clima muito descontraído, oferecendo várias atividades durante a semana para integrar os hóspedes. Ele, de fato, tem um pegada boa para quem quer curtir e interagir. Fiquei num quadro individual e achei as instalações boas. Lembre- se é um Hostel e não um lugar 5 estrelas, você terá conforto mas não luxo. Fiquei satisfeita com o lugar e com receptividade das pessoas que trabalham lá. Se um dia eu voltar ao Chile, certamente o Hostel providencia será o local escolhido para estadia.

Hostel esta em ótima localização, equipe atenciosa, área de convivência grande. Tem programação todos os dias com opções de drinks e lanches para interações dos hospedes. O wifi funciona bem em todos os ambientes do hostel. Porem o chuveiro do nosso quarto funcionava apenas 6 furinhos, a água era quente mas tinha que caçar a água. A calefacão funciona de tempo em tempo, os hóspedes não tem controle. A limpeza das roupas de cama deixam a desejar. Os contras são pontos a ser considerados, porém não impactou nossa viagem. Mas poderiamos ter tido uma hospedagem um pouco mais confortável.

Me quedé en habitación privada, limpia, el colchón puede mejorar pero en general buena estadía, buena ubicación para ir a todos los barrios famosos de Santiago, buen internet para coworking … me tocó habitación al lado del bar es ruidoso pero 11:30 termina el servicio y se queda más silencio el bar/patio

O Hostel tem uma excelente localização, o que possibilita fazer muitas coisas a pé.

em relação a estrutura, o hostel é bem grande, quarto sao bem espaçosos, e se voce esta atras de animação e festas, o hostel providencia é o se lugar!

unico ponto a melhorar é em relaçao aos chuveiros que agora no inverno fica bem complicado tomar banho gelado, pois as vezes o chuveiro do andar onde voce esta acaba nao aquecendo.

Bom custo benefício

O hostel fica numa rua tranquila e bem próximo de estação de metrô e supermercado, importante informar Uber ou transfer exatamente o endereço que o hotéis.Com manda, pq se hogar so o b
Nome manda pra uma entrada fechada em outra rua. O quarto era confortável e a cama de casal ampla, colchão inteiro ( não é 2 colchões juntos), a limpeza é só a cada três dias, é um hotel que ocupa prédios diferentes que são juntos, estrutura é antiga porém modernizada e em boas condições. Vale a pena!

Recomendo!!! Super perto das atrações principais de Santiago! Quartos confortáveis, chuveiro quente, banheiro limpo, recepção atenciosa! Cozinha bem equipada e limpa! Não dou nota máxima, pois não passaram para limpar o quarto de vez em quando!

Excelente estadía, creo que sin lugar a dudas es el mejor Hostal de Santiago, sé respura un ambiente relajado y de respeto, y el hostal está muy bien mantenido y decorado.

Buen lugar, mala atención.

Buena ubicación, 103 habitaciones, varias de ellas de 6 camas, bastantes espacios comunes, las infusiones y el café son ilimitados y gratis, baños bien aseados. hay refirgerador común y cocina disponible para usar.
Tuve que esperar más de una hora para que me entregaran la llave de mi habitación, las sábanas estaban sucias, la TV sin cable de alimentación y me aclararon que: \"Sólo las habitaciones con baño privado tienen la TV conetcada\", la ateción de los encargados es descuidada e indiferente. No es un mal Hostal, pero no iría nuevamente.
