Staff were super friendly and helpful (always grabbing the door and/or offering us an umbrella on the way out), bar staff included (the drinks and food were so good that we ended most nights in the East End bar - Clay made us feel very welcome there). The location is perfect as it is right by a bunch of shopping, department stores, restaurants, two metro lines, etc. And the room was more than enough space for the two of us, with a large bathroom and bathtub, along with all the amenities and nice-to-have's.

We stayed here for 7 nights. At first we thought it was bit quirky but within 1 day we came to love the quirkiness , and enjoyed the amazing rooftop pool and the bar on the 3 rd floor has the best award winning cocktails ( well done Clay) The front desk staff could not be more helpful with a shout out to Spud. As for location having spent 7 days solely in Taipei , there is no better location.

Fantastic location, close to metro, shopping and food. Check in/out was efficient and quick. Staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations and taxis, especially Spud. Would definitely recommend. Rooms were clean and well appointed with free snacks and drinks.

Treated myself to a stay here. Really enjoyed it. Pricey for sure, but nice rooms, comfy beds, and some of the best, friendliest and most intelligent front desk service you’ll find anywhere in the world. I was traveling alone and staff were proactive, welcoming, anticipated my needs without being invasive, and went above and beyond. Deep soak tub was wonderful after walking on a cold, wet wintry day. Interesting area too. Many fun small shops and things to shop and eat.

One area to improve: there was no smart TV with built-in Netflix, Spotify etc. nowadays, at this price point and for a hotel of this calibre, one would expect it.

I chose this property because I knew I would want a luxurious experience for the last days of my trip and Proverbs didn't disappoint. The room was top notch and impressive. I really enjoyed the decor and the spaciousness of the room. The bathtub and the amenities were a nice touch and the location was great with lots of dining options. The only complaint I had was that the room was a bit chilly as it was 19C and I was not able to adjust the temperature up. However, after the staff explained that it had to do with the outside temperature, they offered me a space heater which was sufficient to address the issue.

Convenient location in Taipei, with plenty of shopping and eating options nearby. This is the second time my girlfriend and I have stayed at Proverbs. The room was spacious and very clean. My only gripe with the service was the unnecessary urgency with which the staff had tried to \"rush\" our checkout. I had requested a late check-out at 1pm when I booked the room and was told by the staff it was okay when we arrived. However, on the last day, we got a call from the front desk around noon informing us it was past checkout time, and that they were fully booked that day. I didn't appreciate the rush when we were fully prepared to depart as planned at 1pm. I hope they make a note of this in the future not to rush their guests when a late check-out had been approved. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay during our brief trip to Taipei.

Good that they gave a complimentary upgrade when I asked for it but the way they replied my email sounded like reluctant to give it to me.

The counter staff service seems fake too but check in was fast and seamlessly done in the room.

Upon check in, they gave a complimentary red wine which is a nice gesture but no use for my kid who is celebrating her birthday. I guessed because this is more suited for couples not kids hotel so it’s fine.

their carpet is extremely dirty.
They still uses key to open the door which is so inconvenient.

Other than that, design and comfort is 100% positive.

Stayed in May for 2 nights in the classic room. Room had a small balcony overlooking the park/sogo side. Overall it was a nice hotel but not sure if i'd stay here again.
Positives: received a bottle of wine as an Expedia gold member/great bath amenities/loved the mini bar freebies/good location/close to SOGO department.
Negatives: lack of common area such as lobby was strange even for boutique hotel/strange layout in terms of room(bathroom to bedroom)/cleanliness was poor/really wished they would wipe down the brass walls or at least our room door frequently. This really bothered me to be honest. Fingerprints and smudges were left the entire trip and doesn't look good on reflective surfaces.

Cool boutique hotel. No gym. Noise permeates through window into room. No place for meeting as I was kicked out of restaurant after breakfast, moved to bar with no one being around and was kicked out again. Staff at bar was not pleasant and made my meeting very awkward by deliberately creating loud noise to shoo us out of the non operating bar.

Comfortable room,strategic tourist location. Walking distance to mrt. Free minibar. Good hotel restaurant, good bar on 3rd level, bar staffs can be quite snobbish though (stating minimum charge before sitting us at the bar) and pedantic with guests having reservations prior if you want to spend time longer at the bar (even though we were staying at the hotel and we can easily move from the barseat to the sofa/loby area).

The hotel locates near the subway station, and bus station. In the evening the streets around the hotel will turn to the small food market, which we had fun just to look and make a decision for our dinner. The hotel and room are designed modernly, and have the details that very interesting. The breakfast were really nice cooking and served in a good amount. All in all, this hotel choice is great.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the staff really goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The hotel is very unique and stylish and the rooms are perfection. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the tub is amazing to soak into after a lon day. The hotel has a nice view of Taipei 101 and the location is super convenient. The restaurant is really nice and the breakfast is delicious. The bar has a very cool vibe and a nice patio. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is stylish and located very near subway and many popular restaurants and street vendors. Deco very nice and room comfortable. Bath / toilet area spacious, good toiletries, but impractical design - water spills easily and curtain design makes bath area very cold. A basic door would be better.

Breakfast rather disappointing, limited, boring choices, no local flavours.

Staffs are most helpful and efficient, great service.

Worth every penny!!! A must stay hotel!!! The staff is really friendly and considerate. They wrote cards to you every trip and was not business -like greetings. They remember your last trip and what you asked like they remember we had Gluten free meals . Also they offered an umbrella when it was raining after we checked out. They are just very sweet that you will wanna stay there whenever you can. It was too bad that we couldn't stay there for new year this year because they are fully booked.

Great hotel, excellent staff, rooms are funky and very well equipped with complimentary minibar / wifi / breakfast. Location is the main selling point - if you came to Taipei for food, this hotel is right in the midst of it all, countless street vendors, high end Korean and Japanese plus everything in between.

Proverb's compact 3/F East End Bar features thoughtfully mixed cocktails, knowledgeable staff (& stocks the usually elusive Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottles on the back shelf).

A great hotel with a team of very engaging staff

It was an excellent stay. Staff members were very nice and helpful especially worth mentioning was TK Restaurant manager Apple. She gave a good recommendation to the food and service at the restaurant was top notch. At the East Side Bar, this is the place to go and not to be missed. Bartender Tony was the man. He was one of the few bartenders whom I have come across as nice and approachable. Not forgetting to mention Mandy, manager of East Side, who was very hospitable. The waiters were very nice and helpful to guests. Overall, it was a great experience staying at Hotel Proverbs Taipei.

One of my favourite hotel in Taipei

fast check in and room is spacious with balcony and bath tub. One of the few hotels that have swimming pool. The only drawback is they don't have a gym at the hotel, but they do give me an access card to a big gym near The Taipei Arena.

- Convenient Location ( Near Mrt and in the heart of the shopping district)
- Excellent hotel customer service ( staff are friendly and helpful)
- Room is very comfortable with good aircon ventilation and a comfortable bed

This boutique hotel is located close to the subway station, with many shops and eateries nearby and it's also easy to catch taxis at the hotel entrance. The staff in general are young, friendly, helpful and speak good English. The room was in pristine condition with modern design, it was clean and comfortable albeit slightly dark with no reading lamps. The complimentary minibar is well stocked and the free on demand movies were also a nice touch. Overall it was a brilliant experience and I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

I actually would like to give 4,5 for all of the above (staff, room cleanliness, condition and comfort). I think the location is convenient. I always love the da'an district. Staff at lobby is friendly and switched on. Everything went smooth on the first floor. However, should look into the reception is the bar in the evening. The room is nice and clean. Quite well equipped. Washroom and shower are both very nice. Love the plush slippers. Love slipping into them. Mini bar is free for all non alcoholic beverage and snacks. It is nice. Would like to make 2 recommendations: 1) a description for the nespresso capsule (I am a regular user of the machine but I can't remember the strength of all the capsules); 2) for snacks, if you can try to include something healthier like nuts or good cereal bar. Last but not least, the free wifi egg is super helpful. Will definitely come back and stay here again.

The staff at Hotel Proverbs was very friendly and accommodating. They always helped us to communicate with cab drivers (who did not speak english) and they always made us feel welcome upon our return to the hotel at the end of the day. The rooms are beautiful with very unique touches and the bar was great. The only negatives I have would be: 1) There is only a drape to separate the bathroom from the bedroom. This was fine for my husband and I but might be awkward for friends or a couple in a newer relationship. 2) The hallways were really humid. They had dehumidifiers out but that ruined the vibe a bit.

Great hotel in the heart of Taipei

We really enjoyed our stay at the end of October 2016. We came to Taipei little prepared but the staff were very helpful in recommending some restaurants and locations. The hotel is close to some train stations and you can easily go anywhere you want in the city. The room was spacious and clean but the view is blocked by a sort of wall with holes outside the window. Breakfast was overall decent but we would have preferred a bigger variety than was offered. There is a small a-la-carte menu as well but it comes at an extra cost. The same space is also used for dinner and the hotel has a bar on the 3rd floor. The hotel has a neat security feature in that you need the keycard to operate the elevator. Overall we enjoyed very much

Amazing hotel!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Proverbs. The bed was comfortable, the toilet amenities were fabulous and the hotel is just mins away from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station. There are many eateries and small retail stores (great for ladies) around the hotel too.

If you are looking for a non-typical hotel room decoration (this is way cooler than usual big hotel chains), great service staff and a super comfortable stay, this hotel has it all!

This was the second time I stayed in Proverbs Hotel Taipei, even it is quite a new hotel. I was so happy to know that the hotel will be officially joined in the Design Hotels/ SPG in Oct. '16, which actually is one of my priority criteria when choosing accommodations while traveling around the world. There are couple of SPG hotels in Taipei but I think Proverbs can be THE ONE that fits to the best value in terms of location, service quality, design style and most importantly, the newest one among all of them. And you will be able to accumulate the SPG points ever since it join the SPG members.
The best thing of the hotel is its location. It's just located behind SOGO Department Stores which is the most happening shopping and dinning area in Taipei. 5 min walking distance to the Taipei Metro Subway so very convenient to anywhere you have to go in Taipei. And I also like its design style which is not very traditional and somehow makes me remember the EDITION Hotel in London.
The breakfast, on the other hand, is another great attribute in Proverbs. It provides fresh salad as buffet and you can order a main course for your breakfast. The meal is quite good knowing that most of the hotels in Taipei only provide buffet for breakfast.
There is a Bar locates on the 3rd floor beside the check-in lobby named East End. It provides quite good cocktails in the evening and there are few tables thus you need to make a reservation or visit earlier in the evening.

Beautiful, Elegant Hotel in a Great Area

PROS: Fantastic and cool decor throughout, beautiful bar right at reception area (on 3rd floor), great views, nice pool (but small)

CONS: No fitness room, not the cheapest room you'll ever stay in

Summary: Great place for a romantic night/weekend, probably not the best for a business traveler or family

Paid SGD300 and was told breakfast isn't included!

Toilet size relative to bedroom size is too big. Bed area is cramped.

Nothing was indicated on my booking that breakfast isn't included. Service staff looked at me as if I was out to cheat for free breakfast, poor service.
