The hotel is located right next to MRT with lots of eateries around. Hotel staffs are very professional with top notch services.
The dislikes will be smell smoking of cigarettes in the room..and no wardrobe to hang the clothes.

It was a good experience. But room is not very spacious and no windows. Service was average. But location is really good. Lots of shops around the area and very convenient. I’ve read reviews about the noise from the night club or ktv in the same building. But I didn’t find it noisy. Maybe because it was a Sunday. My review may not be as accurate as I only stayed for one night. Overall it was okay.

Convenient surroundings...the room hygiene is clean but the cleaner could use some vacuuming as it is really dusty. Downside no windows to know the weather. Noisy door banging from other rooms. Close to MRT station walking distance. Helpful friendly staff!

The room air-con is not functioning. The temperature remained on 18 degrees And cannot adjust at all. The staff explained it’s due to central air conditioning.
After 4 nights, I finally caught a bad cold and fever. The staff is willing to help change the room after I demand moving out.
The new room air-con works fine and be adjustable.

the hotel itself is good

front counter staff not exactly welcoming. and annoying checking out time reminders on the last day to remind you to check out. i know the checkout time. i don't need 2 calls to remind me, especially when i'm not late. and there are these weird bouncer looking guys down stairs constantly asking where you're going once you try to enter the building.

The hotel is well located within the shopping district and is right beside MRT station. Room is small as usual, but the one that we stayed in has no window, it was impossible to wake up in the morning and light was very dim. No breakfirst but there is a pantry free flow soft drinks and instant noodles, they gave free 茶叶蛋as well.

Hotel was in a convenient location with train station, shops, and eateries nearby. It was a somewhat clean and safe place. Room was very dark, bed was rock hard, and pillow was very thin. They advertise the room as having a window BUT if you keep the blinds open, people from the other building can see you taking a shower and sitting on the toilet. Room also smelled a bit funky.

Wifi is the biggest problem here.

Everything was good here, including the nearby area. The only exception is the Wifi in the hotel, tried 5 days in different time, none of they are working at all. It's connected without any problem but you cannot load up web pages even local Taiwan web pages, IM apps or software are also not connecting at all, so basically the free wifi is totally not working.

Good place for the price.

Overall a positive stay. A few things to back up what others said. Yes, the hotel is on the 7th and 8th floor, and yes there is also a night club in the building. But I never heard any music in my room. Be aware that they have rooms without windows. I didn't realize when booking through Hotels.com that was what I was getting. Could have been my fault but nothing jumped out at me. I was able to move to a room with a window after a couple days for another $10 a day. Breakfast is adaquate, but if you are used to an American spread you may just barely be satisfied. But the food quality was good, so if you are open to try something out of your norm if you aren't from Taiwan then its good. There is also a 7-11 right behind the hotel that was handy. The bathrooms are very cool and clean. It is quite tight for luggage storage. You can find a spot on the floor that is your only option, and limited room to hang things. I was using the light bar to hang my stuff. It is right on the blue line by the Zhongxiao Dunhua stop. Look up to see the sign, then take the elevator to the 8th floor to check in. For the money its a good place to stay downtown with great access to the MRT system and only a few stops on the blue line away from the Main Station, connecting you to the High Speed Rail.

Cozy and great location

Very good location and quite comfy. This hotel is just two floors of the building and rooms are not so big, but cozy and nicely decorated. Just the breakfast included is very small, mostly asian and few places to sit, so at some time it would be full. This neighborhood is great for shopping and has a lot of nice restaurants and bars as well street food at night.

Convenient and comfortable

Overall our stay was good, the staff was nice and courteous, the breakfast was simple and filling, and the room was spacious and comfortable. I do have to point out for people who are aversive to the smell of smoke that we could often smell smoke in the elevator and the area leading up to the elevator because Vendome East Inn shares the building with other businesses - one of those being a club a couple floors beneath it. It didn't bother us too much but just wanted to let people know in case they do mind. Other than that it's right on the middle of a shopping area with Zara, forever 21, Uniqlo, etc. and it's right by the blue MRT line.

Great location but a really grotty hotel. The rooms STINK - the carpets need replacing and the whole room needs renovating. Stains on the floor, on the wall and smelly carpets make an awful combination. The breakfast is inedible - skip it and go outside.

This was the second time I’ve stayed at Vendome East and I would stay there again in the future. It is located literally a ten-fifteen meters from the subway and is very conveniently located to other public transportation. From Taipei Main Station on the subway, where the Taipei-to-Taoyuan airport bus stops, it is only about 7 minutes.

We stayed for a long weekend getaway. The location is great, close to metro and with lots of restaurants nearby. Room was ok, shower was odd; water pressure and temperature could not be adjusted seperately and no closet space. Breakfast was simple, but ok and staff was nice. Best thing was the location, and for the price it was fine!

Small hotel in a great location but hard to find

The first problem I had was I could not find this hotel. There are 2 Venedome hotels in the same area and I actually went to the wrong one first. The only sign to identify the hotel is in a hallway leading to the elevator off the street. There is no sign on the main building at least that I saw. The hotel only uses 2 floors of the building and the rooms are small but not terribly uncomfortable for 1 maybe 2 people. The bathroom is very nice with a tub and a huge shower. The rest of the room is your basic bed, tv, desk and mini refrigerator. The room key also controls the electricity which was fine but could be annoying if the weather were hot.My only real complaint about the room would be the bed. The bed was the hardest most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in. Not a complaint but a slight annoyance was that they required a 2000nt cash deposit for the room. Check in and check out were very easy and smooth.

Vendome East is located in an area known for its boutique shopping, in a neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and specialty shops. Vendome is a very short walk to the MRT system and buses are right outside the main entrance. The room itself was quiet and featured contemporary design and had a comfortable bed and a great shower and bathtub.

Vendôme East hotel is the secret jedi hideout of Taipei. Located inside a nondescript building along one of the city's central streets, you step off the elevator onto the 8th floor, into a hushed, dark hotel floor. Perfectly clean and minimalist, this is a small one-floor concern, the rooms are clean, all black marble and steel, no windows, no noise. Perfect for exploring Taipei, doing work with no distractions, or just vanishing out of sight. The front-desk staff speak english, and though a bit skittish, are happy to help. There is a minimalist breakfast room and a small boutique of handmade soaps and foot creams at reception.

Ok if you just want to get a place to sleep

The hotel is conveniently located in the busiest part of Taipei. I wasn't aware that the hotel occupies only 2 stories of the building and was a bit uncomfortable sharing the elevator with some drunk customers from the bar on the other stories. The window room was booked but only looks at the next building. Breakfast was only served in my first day of stay. The room was basically clean but smelt of old carpet.

Couldn't sleep because of dance class above hotel

The rooms are tiny. The only wardrobe space is a coat hanger hanging off some pipes in the room.
There is a dance studio above the hotel and dance went on until 11pm making the ceiling shake.
The staff are quite nice except one lady who was really overbearing and kind of bossy.
The breakfast is a joke. Rice porridge and pickles or hotdog sausages and processed bread. Truly awful breakfast. Some Indian guys staying in my hotel were vegetarian and they looked shocked by the options.

The bathrooms are nice, bed is comfy but i couldn't sleep. Too noisy, too cramped. Overpriced for what you actually get. Don't be deceived by the pictures on hotels.com. It's not as good as it looks. Its a boutique hotel without any charm. I won't stay here again. Avoid

The hotel is modern and well maintained. Free snacks, water and breakfast are good enough. The location is super convenient. But the night club on the 3rd floor makes me uncomfortable every time I take the elevator and the room is quite small. I can't walk after I open my luggage on the floor.

The location is fantastic, right in front of exit 2 of the subway station. There are lots of eateries around, too.The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is so-so, with porridge as the main fare. There is one kind of bread, and one kind of cereals. The coffee machine is decent.
My only complaint is that when the karaoke begins, the noise can be heard loud and clear in the room.

Great place that is in a very convenient. Always nice to get back to a clean room with a comfy bed and hot shower. Can be a little noisy depending on what floor you stay on. I stayed on the 7th floor and the 6th floor is either a small gentleman's club or karaoke place. The sound is still muffled, but you definitely hear the bass from Wednesday to Sunday nights. Turn on the tv and the noise is pretty much gone.

Convienient location in the Taipei Eastern Distric

Was recommended this hotel by a friend, my stay here was quite good. A bug was in one of the bath towels and they changed it ASAP. Noises aren't too apparent as previous reviewers say. Safe and would recommend for solo travelers.

Max two bottle of waters per day is not sufficient as I know many hotels offer unlimited supply of bottled water.

I'm not a picky traveler when it comes to hotels...rough in condition is fine for me, but this hotel wouldn't even let me see where the dirt was so I could avoid it...The rooms are all black walls with dark Grey carpet and little to no lighting...outta sight outta mind? But the hotel staff were very nice and friendly, and they gave the breakfast a good go. Definitely good for anyone who just needs a place to pass out but I would recommend spending too long in the black hole.

I went with my husband for a 4D3N Taipei trip during 16-19 Oct 14. Excellent location as it near MRT and many shops and restaurant behind the hotel building. Next time if i go Taipei, i will stay there again!

Difficult to find despite being 20 m from MRT exit due to confusing signage. Small reception area but young friendly staff. Rooms very clean and comfortable and as there are no windows they remain very dark in the morning ensuring a good sleep. Breakfast not so wonderful but adequate

Decent hotel close to MRT station

The lift lobby of the building can be quite misleading. You might think that you are in a lobby of an old apartment or building. But take the lift up to the 8th floor where the hotel is located, and you'll find that it has a different feel. The staff are helpful. With all of them greeting you each time you leave and return to the hotel.

Rooms-wise, i was lucky to get an upgrade which meant that I had a larger room. But take note, they don't have enough places for you to hang your clothes.

Great room and staff, but cleanliness and lighting

This time I went to Taipei on my own. This hotel is located in an old-fashioned building and I missed the entrance even I passed for twice, but the location is actually excellent for tourists to come out from the MRT Station. I arrived the hotel at 12 nn, the staff were considerate who allowed me to get to my room before the scheduled time (after 3 pm), as it was raining outside. The room looks cool and same as the photos online. The bathroom is transparent to the room and you may put on the curtains if necessary.
I got back to my hotel at night (10:30 pm), the entrance of the building was a bit terrible as receptionists of the pubs on 4/F to 6/F welcomed their customers and sexy ladies. Residents of the hotel had to go upstairs with the drunk men and waiters of the pubs, but I still go downstairs again at around 11 pm to the 24 hrs-opened Watsons for some shopping.
In general, I felt satisfied for the room and service of staff there. However, when I played with my smartphone at late night, I found the carpet is not clean with some brownish dirt near my bed, and then I never walked on the carpet without putting on my slippers afterwards. Unfortunately, I got infected of dyshidrosis after leaving this hotel for one day, I hope I was not infected at this hotel, but my doctor advised me that it's normally infected from walking on the unclean carpet or soil with bare feet.
Also, the lighting in the room is inadequate, especially when I was sitting in the bed.

Great Location But Lousy Hotel Service

Location is Great but the rest of the hotel room and condition as follow : Shower gel n shampoo only 1 pack per person ( crazy ) . No place to place your shower gel pack or shampoo in the bathroom. No hair dryer.smoking smell always linger in the room also most all my 7 day I can smell the smoking smell very bad . Request room with bathtub but was given a room without bathtub was told that they email me regard to the bathtub but I didn't received any email if I received the email I will cancel off this booking. Room only come with 3 pcs clothing hanger no wardrobe . Only 1 thin pillow each will give u a sore neck when waking up in the morning. Second day Access doors card malfunction was told to change to a new card but was denied entry again go back to Front desk change again to another card then can waste of time. Morning breakfast very troublesome must go to front desk to collect breakfast card every morning in order to take breakfast. This is the first n last time I will ever stay in this hotel .

The location is very very good! Surrounded by shopping centres and it's really near the train station. The room was really modern and clean with a big bed (I really liked the deco)! The room was normal size or some may call it small, but the bed was a king size so it's actually not that small but more like narrow walking space. There was nowhere to open our 2 luggages. So we had to do it 1 by 1 behind the main door (rolled across the bed to get to the other side). May not be a good family hotel as there are massage parlours and ktv on other floors (sharing the same lift). Also some channels on tv are actually indecent. The hotel also offers short stay (not overnight), so we encountered a 'couple' who needed a room for a few hours. But good for guests to extend a few more hours if flying off at night. Breakfast is simple dishes, porridge and toast in a small corner.

Raided by police

I was raided by the police on the second night of my stay at the hotel's level 7 lift lobby. The police suspects of illegal proceedings, but the hotel management claims to be a normal routine check by the police. I am the only hotel guest affected by this entire episode simply because I had returned to my room at the precise moment the police came up to level 7. I was told to assist in investigations as the management had denied responsibility to the operations on level 7, one of the two floors within the building occupied by Vendome. The police took down my particulars and video recorded the entire raid, even requesting to open my room for inspection. None of the hotel staff came forth to deal with the police even during room inspection. The hotel management failed to offer any explanation to me thereafter. Upon request, they promised to detail an explanation to me by my check-out time but failed to do so. In my follow-up emails when I had returned to Singapore, the hotel in-charge David had the cheek to claim that they would \"do their best to protest against the police for their behaviour\" when in fact nobody did. David's pathetic offer of a 1-night suite stay should I visit Taipei within half a year lacks of sincerity. Honestly, no thanks, and do yourself a favour: avoid Vendome.

Good location but lobby is awful

Had ants on the table, although room was generally very new.
Arrived and the lobby was shocking. Had some dodgy people downstairs and a cigarette ashtray in the lift for some strange reason!?
Furthermore, we requested for a quiet room, in light of the reviews and there being a club downstairs, to which they simply replied 'we always try our best...'
Wasn't sure what she meant by that, but anyway, noise was not too bad...
For the price, I guess you can't really moan, but if you're going with a family, then this is a definite no no.
For a single guy looking for some fun or a young couple on a budget, then this is a decent choice.

Great Service and location

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The hotel is not easy to find. Use exit 2 from DunHua station and it is the building next to the Zara store. The entrance to the lift is next to the Watson shop. The hotel reception is on the 8th floor and the deco of the hotel is pretty nice and the color in the room is pretty well coordinated. I had a no-window room but the curtain that covers the bathroom makes it look like it is the curtain to the window. Room is small as I have expected. However, it is clean and bed is comfortable. The 2 dissatisfaction are the wifi signal is quite unstable and there seems to be construction down the floor below and drilling started from 9am. Other than these, service is great and location is great. Value for money.

Hotel is located in the heart of the city within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and shopping. If you like to eat, drink, shop just stay here.

Yes it can be a tad noisy at night but only just a tad. The soundproofing in the rooms is actually quite good and it didn't disturb me at all.

Constant cigarette smell from AC

On the plus side, the location is unbeatable right next to a metro stop. Staff was ok and could get a bit more professional. The room is small but clean and modern. However the smell of cold tobacco coming out the AC just kills the whole experience. Probably due to the dodgy club in the same building.

The Hotel has small but nice and very clean rooms. You could complain only for the small breakfast but in any case I would consider it fair enough. The position of the Hotel is really strategic if you want to enjoy the nightlife or visiting some attraction, you are very close to many nice places.It's in front of the MRT and it's so eay to get to the train station or any other point of interest. I would suggest it for a weekend!

Nice inside, disappointed outside.

This business hotel located in Taiwan downtown, the location is extremely convenience, however, the hotel is located upstairs of a night club (not clubbing), the neighborhood environment is very disappointing. Other then that, everything is good and the price is very reasonable.

Feels like being in a love hotel

Yes, it does, mostly in the good ways. There is no grand hotel entrance or concierge to help you with your luggages because the \"hotel\" is located on the 8th floor of a commercial building. It kind of feels like going up to a friend's apartment or someone's office. Once you arrive the 8th floor, you're being taken care of. The place is very new and clean with modern deco. Staff is super friendly, free room wifi, strong shower, super convenient location - it's right next to the subway stop Dunhua station. Lots of eateries and shops in the area (Starbucks, Zara, Uniqlo...) I would say it's perfect for young travelers who comes to Taipei for food, shopping and entertainment. The breakfast is located at Vendome Hotel which is on the next building, it's not convenient for business travellers who will see clients or colleagues for business meeting at the hotel... another down side is the noise. Apparently there's a karaoke / club on the 4th floor, it plays loud music at night time. Also the people going in and out of the building / elevator are mostly commercial workers.. don't expect to see lots of decent and innocent tourists. I will not go back for business travel but I might consider staying there for my next adventurous leisure trip in Taipei.
