In general, the hotel was inexpensive and convenient without being crowded. Those were good qualities for me.

Pacific Business Hotel is always my go-to place to stay in Taipei. The room is always very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. And lots of little touches make a difference (e.g., electrical outlets that will accommodate my Singapore plugs). Had the breakfast this time and it was pretty good. I liked the dim sum.
My only complaint was that there were no English instructions for the all-Chinese TV remote control. If I had gone to the front desk with this though, they surely would have helped me. I was just too lazy to do so. I'll be staying there again tomorrow night, so I'll be sure to ask about the TV remote control when I check in.

The room's design is very dated. The toilet,shower area are separated, with the basin outside the toilet. It makes a weird design as people are greeted with the basin when then enter the room.

Reservation desk is on the 11th flr. Which was a first when checking in. Staff were very courteous and professional. Breakfast is offered with a variety of choices (try the warm soy milk) Overall it was a good experience staying here.

I was told that a lot of hotels (unless it is a hotel chain will be shared building space with either office or residential.) As a Canadian, you should keep this in mind. This hotel is ok when you really need to stay in Taipei and don't want to break the bank. But my advice is to get accommodations outside of Taipei. Tai Chung is so much more modern and affordable, and it's just a few stations away by Taiwan HSR (high speed rail)

Stayed there for 2 nights. The area itself is quiet and safe. A bit of walking distance from the station so it’s easier to use a bus or taxi instead. The building itself is old and it smelled. So if you are looking for fancy stay, it’s not the place for you.

I booked a Junior Room and on Hotel.com, it advised with the image that can see Taipei 101. But did not see Taipei 101 at all and on the balcony it has a very old hot water tank with molds. The hotel needs an upgrade with elevators and interior design. The lobby is nice but the hotel's design in general just doesn't line up.

Taipei experienced largest earthquakes (over 5 richter scale since 25 years ago. The hotel elevators were inactivated and resume operations after inspection, which was completed the same day. It is incredibly efficient since there were lots of elevators in Taipei that needed to be re-inspected or repaired. Without elevators, staff inspected and cleaned the hotel rooms. It was hard work for the housekeepers since they had to climb stairs over 10 floors to clean all rooms. They were still very cordial and diligent in keeping the hotel cleaned. Amazing staff at the hotel!
