Whole property was in horrible state.. There was renovation/painting going on and the room I was supposed to stay had no ventilation so it had so much dust I got strong allergic reaction.
Walls are thin like Japanese houses, sounds from toilets emanates through like you were next to the toilet seat.
The corridors steep and narrow mazes and the odd joint of weed can be smelled. That place should be decommisioned.

The staff is very friendly but there's no soap in the restrooms and not enough showers for the amount of people hosted. There's lots of very narrow stairs to get to each floor which makes it difficult if you carry heavy bags.

Lots of steep stairs. Parking on the street was convenient. Cat at the reception desk was a treat! Bathroom was tiny. Did not even bother showering since everything seemed very cramped.

Went with a group of friends from work. Was actually pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean enough and the amenities were clean and in decent condition. Definitely wouldn't recommend for couples and is a complete no go for anyone with mobility issues. Very steep stairs throughout. But for groups of visitors that are not that bothered with anything fancy then it suits just fine. Overall enjoyed our stay 👍.

The hostel was easily commutable and the was neat. But the WC was very small and uncomfortable. And they dont have big lockers to put the luggage. You could only put important items in the small locker they give. And the plug points to charge mobile or a laptop was at a very odd place and not easily reachable from bed.

Friendly and helpful staffs with good communication in English. Room and bed are tidy and comfortable. Needs to supply some amentities in the bathroom (e.g: soap, shampoo, etc.)

bad service, want to stay in female dorm room but still mix female and male, just only one dirty bathroom in the floor. price is high but not worthy. bad experience. If you have a luggage weighing more than 10kg then don’t stay here because there are steep stairs all the way up till 3rd floor which are really risky to walk on with a luggage. The reception is on the first floor and then rooms are on 1st 2nd and 3rd floors. No elevator at all. The toilets were dirty and only one toilet and shower between 6-7 rooms. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

Bad and disrespectful
I paid for a 6 beds bedroom and my bedroom had 7 bedrooms. This is disrespectful. Bedroom was small, the place is old and overall its not clean. The good thing is that the shower on the second floor is new and clean. Wouldn't stay there again

This is the first time I stayed in a hostel. Immediately after teaching there I cancelled my few other bookings in other cities and booked hotel, this was such horrible. After coming to Brussels I took another hostel and that's fully opposite from this one. Surprisingly both the hotels are connected and may be the owner is same. I would expect they will try to maintain same standard in both the cities. Well, the structure can not be changed but cleanliness, looking, maintainence can be enhanced. The staffs were really good and cooperative. In summer there is no way to make the room cool.

Room was very small, ridiculously hot. I mean it looked more like a cupboard than a hotel room. Really tiny with 4 single beds. Uncomfortable due to the heat, wedged a shoe in the door for some air!

Stayed here for a night with our children (as we could find nowhere else in Amsterdam) and couldn't believe how much we paid to stay in this awful place. To start with the entrance steps were so steep we had trouble getting our bags in, the man at the reception was shouting at some of the guests as we entered and it took ages before he even acknowledged us, our room was like a prison cell (metal bunk beds and no room to swing a cat), doors slamming and guests shouting loudly all night, cigarette smoke drifting into our window all night and no separate loo so had to wait for people to finish showering to even use it. I think it was summed up by one of our daughters (aged 12) bursting into tears when she realised we had to stay there. I get that hostels are not luxurious but 210 euros for a family for one night - really?!!

My card got swallowed by an ATM machine on my first day, and I'm so grateful for the staff helping me so much with booking extra nights so I could get a new bank card sent to the hostel, and especially Mohammed who really helped with that situation and they were all very understanding and nice about it!! The beds are comfy and it's in a really good location (half an hour walk from the center, about 15 minutes on the tram, right next to oosterpark which is lovely). Really good considering the price :)

Great little place in a good neighbourhood
This was perfect for me and a few mates, we wasn't looking for anything fancy we was just taking a break from reality. Febos across the road & a shopping complex just behind it with a super market & clothes shops. Just down the road is a real chill coffeeshop that's real friendly. Tram station is just outside the hostel which will take you right into the city centre meaning it's easy to get around the city.

For the price, it's not bad. We got stuck with the \"penthouse\" on the fifth floor which is a decent climb. There is no bathroom there one located on the floor below. There was no wifi access for floors 3-5 so anyone staying in those rooms had to go to the lobby to use it. Our last day there, the wifi didn't even work so it was difficult getting in contact and meeting with our friend. It was weird that we had to pay again during check in even though we had paid online through hotels.com. They said it was for \"authorization\" purposes and we would be refunded a payment within 20 days (I'm keeping an eye out for that). We didn't spend much time in the hostel aside from sleeping so overall it was okay. If you're looking for a place to just sleep, I'd recommend this place.

Free Second Hand Marijuana Hostel
Paid 200 EURO in cash for one week on Day 1. There are always some guys smoking marijuana in the closed stairway, and when the door to the room upstairs opened, the smoke goes into the room. You smell the marijuana all the time in the hostel. Have to check out on the Day 2 due to the smell, but the hostel staff did not give any refund and he called his manager (?) and never show up. This hostel should not be acceptable for service.

This was the first stop on my solo trip for Linkin Park concerts in EU. So, of course, all I needed was a place to leave my junk while exploring or screaming at the arena, and a place to recover after that, plus traveling.
And if you go with just those expectations, you will be happy as a clam.
Firstly, beware the \"Steps to Mordor.\" Steep, narrow, and a lot.
The reception/lobby was pretty neat, tv to watch, plenty of seats, great connection to the Wifi. One of the two employees, shorter, was extremely polite and very helpful. The other one- loud and irritable if you're not much of a morning person.
The room I stayed in was for 8 people. The mattresses seem to be like comfortable foam, and sheets are included! Always nice not having to pay extra. The only downfall was that the plugs were few and only by the sink. Very annoying when you have to charge and constantly respond to communications at the same time. You're kind of awkwardly hanging out by the sink or going back and forth.
All that aside- the tram stop for Line 9 is right outside. Buy a all day or multi-day pass and just go on and off that tram towards the center- museums, parks, great neighborhoods are all along it. You'll have easy time getting to the Ziggo Dome if you're there for the concert. One of the night bus lines also drops off at the hostel. And even better- supermarket right next door.
It's worth the money for the purpose.

Este es un hotel solo para estar un poco cerca del centro de Amsterdam, lo bueno es que tienes el tranvía 19 que pasa en frente y luego tomas el 14 y llegas a Plaza Dam o A la estación central de Amsterdam, lo malo es que es muy incómodo porque no se descansa bien pero para el precio en relación a los demás está bien, tomando en cuenta que la relación calidad-precio de Amsterdam es muy mala. Aconsejo quedarse solo dos noches máximo y luego mudarse a otro hotel más cercano. El personal es muy amable y trata de compensar lo que falté.

No es una buena opción para dormir.
Reservamos una habitación doble, que es pequeñisima (1,80m de ancho). Las camas son cómodas, pero las sábanas estaban amarillentas y con manchas, las almohada son malísimas. Los colchones no miden ni 80 cms. El televisor no funciona. El baño es compartido, pero amplio y está muy bien. No dispone de cocina, solo de microondas y frigorífico. Al llegar hay que dejar un depósito de 10€ y además pagar las tasas municipales de 4,56€/persona y noche, que según la web de reserva, eran 3€/persona y noche. Los chicos de la recepción son amables. Esta bien ubicado, a 5 minutos andando de la estación de tren. Alrededor del edificio tienes supermercados y bares. El hostel está en un primer piso y las escaleras son la muerte, no lo recomendaría para personas con dificultades ni si llevas mucho equipaje. Muy ruidoso, se escuchan el resto de huéspedes por la noche hablando y con música en la zona común hasta la madrugada. Una noche, a las 4 de la mañana, ya harta, salir para pedir que hablaran en voz baja, pero no sirvió de nada.

It has been one of the worst places I have ever been, I payed for a double room which was cheap for the average prices in Amsterdam. Absolutely nothing worked, the wifi didn't work, the TV didn't work, the window didn't close entirely and cold air came inside, the shared shower outside of the room didn't work and you had to use another one shared with even more people. Everything squeaked so each time someone upstairs or dowstaire moved you could hear it. Each time someone slammed the door, the bed shaked. I could hear absolutely every noice from the room next to mine which was the smoking room.

las habitaciones aunque te salga 4 te puede tocar de 6 personas, tiene el baño muy pequeño casi no cabes en el, las duchas no tienen donde colgar la ropa, toalla y chanclas son personales no hay en el hostal. Не понравилось, что нет никакого порядка над тем, кто и какие свободные кровати в номере занял. Неужели это сложно: присвоить каждому месту свой номер? чтобы заехавший гость знал, что в этом номере его кровать под конкретным НОМЕРОМ. или выдать карточку именную, которая закреплялась бы на видном специально отведённом для неё месте на кровати? чтобы вновь заехавшие гости понимали, что ЭТО МЕСТО несвободно.
В мою ночь с заселением был какой-то кошмар. Место было выбрано днём. Но по возвращению, мои вещи оказались переброшенными на другую кровать (что-то рассыпалось по номеру). И так произошло не только со мной, ещё ТРОЕ оказались в похожей ситуации.
И всё это разруливалось до 2-х ночи. Дичь!!!
Далее. Из чистого белья рассчитывать можно только на наволочку и пододеяльник! Простыни (наматрасники) - не меняются.
В моём номере было 4 двуярусных кровати и лесенка на верхний уровень была только у одной. Мне не повезло, по приезду у меня была небольшая травма плечевого сустава и то, как я, оберегая его, взбиралась в ночи на верхний уровень с высоты собственного роста, стараясь никого не разбудить, было достойно особого внимания.
Также не понравилось, что нет никакого контроля за соблюдением режима тишины. До 3-х ночи какие-то бесконечные хождения пьяных гостей были, гремели бутылками, кто-то разговаривал и даже орал в холле.
Теперь о плюсах.

This place is a bit further away from the city. Rent a bike and get more comfort in return. The toilet was too small though. And the shower didn't have a thermostat. In this case it didn't matter, because the water wasn't warm. Even though I liked it here more than the other hostels I've been.

The rooms are really small, the window in the room was broken. It's only one bathroom with WC on the floor so in the morning you need to wait a lot, also it's very wet inside. Very budget place.

The people working at Amigo have been really cool and helpful and the atmosphere between the travelers I've met was also very open and welcoming!
I liked the location, cheap supermarkets and a park nearby, the tram was just in front of the hostel.
The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony. For the bathroom I never had to wait!
Also great was the smoking room they provide!

A szállás tömegközlekedéssel könnyen megközelíthető volt. A személyzettel maximálisan meg voltam elégedve.A kulcsért 5E letétet kértek/személy amit vissza kaptam kijelentkezéskor. Az egyágyas szoba elég pici kizárolag éjszakai alvásra több mint elég és a negyediken volt megtalálható. Ami a szállásnál kivetni valót hagyott maga után... Nagyon meredekek a lépcsők. Az ajtók mivel kártyára működik a nyitásuk ha valaki elhagyja a szobát csak behuzni lehet és ez elég hangos a szomszéd szobák lakoi miatt bizony felébredtem reggel 6-kor. Más gondom azt hiszem magával a szállással nem volt. A WIFI maximális vételt biztosított a negyedien is és még itthon se működik annyira gyorsan és jól mint a szálláson működött, Összeségében ha legközelebb vissza térek Amszterdamban ismét ezt választanám.
