Room is clean. Some of the staff, like the cleaner on 14/F are very nice and attentive while some of them, like front desk staff, have poker faces.

What slightly confusing us was a notice about calling front desk to collect takeaway packages, I did what it said to collect my CREM cake package but the staff was terribly confused when I called.

We also notice there were two cans of soft drink in the fridge but we were uncertain whether they see complementary or not.

The cast iron bath is very nice if you are someone who love bathing, but it is tiny bit of inconvenience to climb if you have knee pain like me.

The hotel is well located. Stone throw from the MRT station, Qing Hua Jiao hotpot, and walkable all the way to Dream Plaza in 20 min. Will stay again if going to Taipei.

It was a good experience overall. The hotel staff ate friendly and helpful. We stayed in an executive room and it was spacious and clean. We had the view of Taipei 101.location was great.
Except for the water not draining so well in the shower and needing a netflix account to watch an english show/movie, evrything else were great. 😊

Location is excellent as it is 3-min. walk away from a central metro station and across the street from Taipei Dome. Culture Center nearby as well. However, still have to take the metro to get to City Hall and other primary shopping areas.

I have been staying this hotel for years. This is the first time I stayed after pandemic. Even though the facilities is a bit of wearing out, it is still very nice. And the professional and friendly staffs are another reason for me to go back. The location is probably the best compare to other hotels in Taipei. It’s so easy to go everywhere from there. And their bed is very comfy. However, the bathroom was not design for shower purpose. If you are a bath person, the design is a great design for you. For shower people, the shower head is not exactly in a right position. I made the room wet the first time I took a shower. So i had to carefully shower if I dn’t want a wet room. It’s not difficult and you can always ask for more towers.

I visited Taipei 6 times for 100 days the past year. This is one of the worst hotels I stayed at (13-15 hotels this year). Lobby and restaurant looks nice, and that’s where it ends. Room had worn carpet, lumpy bed, baseboards scratched up, bathroom had mold on the caulking and around the sink and mirror. Gross!!!! The water pressure was too low—-took 30 min to fill the tub and couldnt shower off the soap. Asked to use the restaurant at 1am for a call i had to make to my US office and the desk staff said we cant use that area after hours—-im not eating, just sitting on a chair! He said to use lobby, but they have christmas music playing loud and said they cant turn the volume down. Definitely not worth the $119 rate. Lot of hotels at $90-110 that are better.

Excellent location, good price, little else

Since COVID, the gym and restaurant have been closed, and remained so as of mid-February, so the vibe inside is ghost town-ish.

The heater in the rooms was not working (blowing even colder air) during both of my last two (winter) stays, so the room was uncomfortably cold.

Would much prefer to stay somewhere else, but this location is quite convenient and the price is reasonable, unlike nearly every other option in this area.

The staff at United Hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself, however, has serious problems. 1) On checking in, I was asked for a 1,000 TWD deposit, which was not disclosed in the Orbitz booking process. 2) The wifi internet is useless, with a maximum download speed of 10 Mbps. 3) In the middle of the night, banging and hissing noises, and sounds of rushing water, started coming from the A/C unit. If you ever lived in a cold part of the US, you will recognize these sounds as an old-timey radiator in winter. Clunk, clunk, sssshhhhhh, hissssssssss, BANG. All night long. 4) On the top floor of the hotel, where I stayed, just off the elevator, I overheard a violent argument between a man and a woman. The woman opened the door of the room and tried to leave, and the man slammed the door shut, trapping her in the room. Lots of screaming and cursing in both English and Chinese. I reported this to the front desk, and they told me, \"Oh, he is a famous model. He's lived in the hotel for years. Recently he's having trouble paying his bill, and he was probably arguing with his management.\" ... ? Overall, in this price range, there are better-maintained hotels in Taipei that don't feature a lunatic fashion model doing a Keith Moon on his room. Avoid.

My family welcomes the new year in Taiwan. We had a wonderful time in Taipei and staying at this hotel makes it even more amazing. Our room has a great view of Taipei 101, large and cozy. The hotel is just a few steps to a metro station and less than kilometer from Taipei City Hall and Xinyi Shopping district, sunyat sent memorial hall.

Good location ! But this hotel equipment has been old, obsolete, or out of order without being properly maintained, or upgraded. With the same price or just a little more, I could get much better hotel deals in the same area !!! On duty manager’s desks in the lobby are messy with tangled wires and cables of computer, phone and other instrument/equipment ! Non-smoking policy has not been enforced at all for the non-smoking rooms !! Basically, as long term customers from my big family members, we all witness this hotel from the best in the past to now the worst !

Great location

The hotel location was super great as near to shopping malls, restaurant, cafe and train station. However service quality at front desk and restaurants need to further improved. My last visit before this year was 3 years ago and the services seems never improved. Breakfast also so so only.

Other then the above, room is very clean and has nice city view.

Don’t be fooled by the 4 stars

It’s a 4 star hotel but feels more like 2 star hotel in several ways. The lobby looks like it is under construction but it isn’t. There was a strong sewer smell when we were there. The room was quite spacious. Also on the plus side is the quality of the bed: very good. The main problem we had was the toilet. We were told that toilet paper shouldn’t be flushed through the toilet but instead be left in a small bucket next to the toilet. You don’t expect this in a four star hotel in a country like Taiwan. Besides that the water reservoir of the toilet took at least 30 minutes to fill up. The staff tries to make the best of the situation. All in all definitely not a 4 star hotel but if you can get a room for a low price it might still be a good choice. The location is good, walking to Taipei 101 takes around 15 minutes. There’s a Starbucks and 711 very close to the hotel.

Good location, near MRT station. Room is good with good service. The toilet is spacious. Recommend strongly. Just not lucky, the toilet water box is not good in room, it is different to turn the water pouring. Call for service, can't fix it. Another issue, TV display is not clear, get an answer that all room TVs are facing same issue.

It was a good deal for 3D2N , very close to sun yat sen train station less than 2 mins , close to taipei 101 can ride youbike there , sushi express 24/7 nearby, not too far from taipei main station (15 mins). Hotel service is very good , clean room and toilet interior design is awesome !!

I looked at the main picture that Expedia posted and it does not do the hotel justice. This hotel was amazing! The price is pretty reasonable too. I regret not staying longer. They upgraded my room and I got a nice elegant bathtub. The concierge was so nice and even held the elevator door for me. Room was nice and quiet even with a superb view of Taipei 101. OMG it is also practically next to the Metro Train, but I walked to 101 within 20 minutes in 35 celcius heat instead... more fun that way. Like wow I would definitely recommend this hotel without a second thought.

there was mold throughout the first room and the second room I was in. Couldn't stay more than an hour in either one. had to check out. in the same time, the fridge was broke and there was a giant cockroach lazily crawling through the room. one guy at the front desk was super nice, one girl, not so much.

Very convenient location -- in a good part of Taipei (close to 101 and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall) and close to the MRT blue line station and bus station to several bus lines. The service is outstanding and there are 24-hour convenient stores just a few steps away. The mattresses are soft, if you're okay with that. We didn't eat breakfast there but there is one available. The hotel is a little older but the location, service, and amenities more than make up for that.

Good value but can be so much better

United is an older hotel and priced to match the level of stay you should expect.

Rooms are slightly larger than others in the same price range.

It is run down with an old, humid smell in the lobby. Luckily the rooms do not have the same problem.

The walls and fixtures are used and abused, clearly showing signs of wear and age but is generally clean.

It has potential and if the hotel operators invested in a superficial renovation or facelift, it could breathe new life in this property.

This is an old semi-luxury hotel with a marble bathroom (tub only) and comfortable bed. The rooms are moderate in size but serve well as a home base while exploring the area. The bed and chairs were very comfortable and staff was as helpful as needed. I'd encourage anyone to feel confident using this as a sleep over stop.

Good hotel, great location

We were very happy with the hotel's location - close to good shopping and eating areas, and a couple of minutes walk to a metro station. Parts of the hotel are a bit run down, and some of the room furniture needs to be replaced, but overall the hotel is clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

The property is surrounded with plenty of restaurants and the transportation for the MRT was convenient.
Our room had a legged type bathtub and we found that after a day it was too high to climb over and get in. We went to the front desk in the morning and we had to wait until the manager came into work. She made the arrangements for us to see the other rooms and it was good with no price increase.
