About 5 min walk from exit 4 of the MRT station. We were surprised when we knew our room was right beside the lift on the same level; all the rooms are! However it was one of the bigger room, even had a bathtub and it was relatively quiet. Wish there was simple amenities like hand soap. Many delectable food options in the area and convenient to go to other areas.

Hej Taipei was perfect for us!

Perfect hotel in the middle of the city. Clean, comfortable, spacious, great city view & customer service. This was our 1st visit to Taiwan. It had everything we needed. If you are really tall, you might find the low ceilings in some areas of room hard to deal with. My son is 5'9\" & he was ok. It may be just the corner room that we had.

Great location, a little hard to find

The hotel was good. Location is excellent for MRT access.

We stayed 2 nights but our room was not serviced at all during our stay. The reception is a bit cold.

The beds are on the firm side but the comforter and pillows were nice.

This hotel did not provide a bar of soap in our room for the bathroom sink area which was weird and disappointing.

Included breakfast was okay.

Our stay was comfortable, the breakfast was good (I love congee!), and the sheets were always clean. Budget friendly. Nice free snacks and drinks in room and in lobby. Staff is so friendly and helpful!

Cons:
The hallway was a little dank and the walls of the room seemed in rough shape (maybe needs to be washed/wiped or wallpaper replaced). Something I didn’t realize when booking this hotel was that our bathroom shower had a low ceiling above it, it was difficult to stand up and the tub was quite short.. so if you were to take a step too far back, you’d step on the slope of the tub and slip. I was concerned my mom would slip and hit her head.

Overall, I enjoyed our stay. It’s great if you are on a budget. I would come back again on my own (without an older parent because of the bathroom situation).

Hej is a delightful 40 room hotel on a single floor in Taipei; central in its location (quick walk to Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT stop). It's unbelievable value for the price; clean rooms, free breakfast with multiple options like cereal, bread/cheese, congee with condiments, fruit, and free water bottles/milk tea drinks all day. Daily housekeeping was good too.

The hotel is situated on the seventh floor of a commercial building, conveniently close to the MRT. The check-in process was seamless. While the room's condition is satisfactory, there is room for improvement in the cleanliness of the bedsheets. The provision of a light breakfast is a thoughtful touch. Fortunately, we experienced no noise disturbances during our stay, possibly due to effective sound insulation or considerate neighbors. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Stayed there for three days. The location is perfect for a solo traveler who's not so familiar with the city, but an avid city stroller. The room is clean and has ample space for luggages. Snacks, water and in-room entertainment are great and promptly replenished. The staff are friendly and helpful at every request. Love it here and will definitely come back.

Love it! Only negative part is the shower area.

Overall I love Hej Taipei! People are really helpful and friendly. I like the lounge area a lot. Great for meeting up with my friends and family for casual hangout. The only part I think can be improved is the bathroom in my room. The tub seems a bit high and the ceiling is very low on one side. Almost touching my head when taking shower. I suggest to make it a standing shower instead due to the low structure on the ceiling. Besides that, I will still recommend this hotel to friends!

We arrived a lot early than the standard 3pm check in time. The receptionist was able to have a room ready for us to check into within the hour of our arrival. We had to pay for a half day rate unfortunately. We wanted to have a shower and clean up after an overnight flight but they only have toilet facility in the common area.
After reading some reviews before arriving we knew the hotel was in a mix used building on Level 7 only. We were able to catch the train straight from the airport and getting off at Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT station and navigating to exit 11 we found the hotel easily.
The hotel is new and everything was very clean, little touches like USB charging port, Japanese style toilet seats, mouthwash. Location was great and easy to walk around Taipei.
We would stay at Hej Taipei again if we return to Taipei.

Great location with lots of shopping and restaurants within the area. Room was clean and breakfast was decent for being free. Snacks available throughout the day and water and soft drinks are free in the room fridge. Some things to be aware of, hallways are dimly light and have several slopes so be careful when walking to your room. Bathtub is designed awkwardly with water spilling out from the back and front. We had to put towels around the tub to keep the bathroom floor dry. Also, please note this hotel has only one floor which is on the 7th floor of an office building. Overall, satisfied with the stay.

Hotel staff did not give us the type of room we booked. Upon complain at check-in, offered to give us an inferior type of room, which we took since it was almost midnight and they claimed nothing else was available. The thing is, we tried to check in at noon, and was told there are no rooms available yet, and I promptly offered to checkin first, asking for a quiet room in better location. This was denied, but front desk staff lady promised to hold a better room for us, which was a lie. When we check in at night, we were we were given the last room available, which was different type of room from we booked. When we complained, we were given an inferior type of room, and offered 1500NT refund to appease us. Since it was close to midnight already, there wasn't much choice for us and we had to take it. Room was not clean, much smaller than expected. Very noisy hotel, with the elevated floor transmitting sound of every steps out there in lobby into room.

We (family of 4 including 2 young adult kids) stayed at Hej for 5 days in mid December. The hotel is located on the main shopping street of Taipei, but being on an upper floor of a building, it was not noisy at all. The room was very modern and clean although slightly cramped for 4 of us in 2 double beds and our luggage. (Moral: travel light !) Perhaps for a couple or just 3 people the rooms might be perfect.
There seem to be 2 types of rooms. Ours was at the front of the building with a view of the main road (Zhongxiao Blvd) midway between both the Fuxing and Dunhua stations on the blue line (5 minutes walk to each). A slight drawback (!) was that as the room faces west there was a curtain drawn across the windows (they could be drawn back for the view) to keep out the intense heat of the afternoon sun. However, the air-con overcame any of that problem. I guess the rooms on the other side of the hotel had no windows - but that is just a guess.
The bathroom was modern and clean with a shower/bathtub, and a toilet. Conveniently the wash basin (as well as a kettle with tea/coffee) was outside the bathroom. Bottles of water were provided every day, although I think (!) that tap water in Taipei might be drinkable.
Breakfast was plentiful - help yourself to lots of bread/toast, jam/butter etc, cereal, milk, boiled eggs, juice, tea/coffee. There was always fruit and snacks left out all day/night for guests to help themselves.
Overall I would recommend Hej in Taipei.

Location is perfect. Accomodations are satisfactory; solidly three stars, but nothing more. The breakfast is extremely spartan, but fine for a piece of toast.

Avoid the rooms with windows. The windows have southern exposure, and the air conditioner only runs when you're in the room, so the room gets outrageously hot while you're out and takes a couple hours to cool down properly when you return.

The hotel is really nice and clean. It is located in the 7th floor of a building. Yes... only the 7th floor. Interesting concept but definitely a good place to stay. The entrance can be tricky to find since it's the elevator lobby to the whole building. The breakfast is decent. Bread is delicious. Only boiled eggs though. Not buffet and limited options but clean and well put together. Location is super convenient. I would stay there again if I don't want to spend the big money.

2. Staff - helpful especially You Min who helped us call to the place we wished to visit.

Staying at Hej was our first experience. We booked it because of the area and also that it has 2 large double beds in the room since we have 3 toddlers/babies. The hotel is cozy and new. It has a lot of cool touches and it was a fun experience.

The lobby is a great place to hang out. It is quiet and they have WiFi through out the hotel which is fast. All day the lobby has a jura machine to get coffee (not just black) and also there are fruits and snacks to eat all day for free. The TV is huge and modern with English channels.

The location is excellent and there's lots walking distance . We are also on top of the subway entrance.

The bad things are That the room was dusty and not that clean. The dust was in the corners meaning just pushed to the side. The light above the sink was broken for the whole time we stayed. The aicon blows on your face and you can't change it while you sleep. There was also a vent that kept producing white flying dust that we had to continue to clean ourselves.

Overall it is a great spot and we would stay here again.
