The hotel was okay overall, but it felt a bit run down and could use some updates. The staff interactions were somewhat impersonal, and we didn’t feel particularly welcomed during our stay. Unfortunately, the food quality was quite disappointing and did not meet our expectations. The buffet area also had an unpleasant odor that made dining there difficult. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to friends.

I have never left a negative review before. I understand that no property is perfect, and I always try to focus on the positive. However, this experience was serious enough that I feel obligated to share it.

I am giving this Royalton two stars only because the staff members were genuinely kind and welcoming. They were doing their best under what appeared to be challenging conditions.

Unfortunately, the property itself was in poor condition. The building was consistently dirty throughout our stay. There was construction happening day and night, making it impossible to rest. The pool water was cold, the hot tubs were not working, and there were no towels available after 3:00 PM. Housekeeping was inconsistent and difficult to access.

Most concerning, we saw cockroaches in the building and mold in the bathroom. That is not acceptable at any level, especially for a resort that promotes itself as a premium experience.

Guests plan, save, and sacrifice for their vacations. Time off is precious and cannot be replaced. When guests invest their limited time off and trust a brand at this level, the experience should reflect that commitment. I trust leadership will take appropriate steps to address both the operational gaps and their impact.

Some parts were great and some staff were also really great. Check in took 1 1/2 hrs. Hotel was overbooked and our son got bumped to another building for 2 nights then had to switch rooms. He had to vacate old room and didn’t get into new one for 5 hrs. Requests for restocking mini bar water didn’t happen. We were told just to keep coming down to reception which didn’t always have some. A bit disconnect on operations. Would be great if staff got people up doing activities. Have been to other all inclusives that they had more interaction with guests

So the first night that I arrived, I was given a room that was extremely unsanitary. I went to the front lobby and requested a new room. They didn’t have any rooms that night and they provided us with a “loaner room” and then was told to go to the lobby in the morning to get a new room. I waited till 5 o’clock the next day to get a new room and the room was still unsanitary. The manager of the hideaway needs to be fired because her hospitality and customer service sucks. I was. I was not reimbursed for the first night of inconvenience, but offered a 25 minute Swedish massage which was horrible as well because I did not get rubbed on my mid or lower back just my shoulders and my neck which is not what I asked . Forget about ordering room service to your room. Food comes over an hour late and the food is cold. Most of the food at this resort sucks no traditional Caribbean food had to check out a day early because of the horrible experience and still not one person from hospitality reach reached out to try to rectify the situation.

I had an amazing experience during my stay at the Hide away. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. A special shoutout to Tashael Joseph, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly elevated the entire stay.

I also want to highlight Eddie from valet, who was incredibly friendly and efficient every time I needed my car. His upbeat attitude and helpfulness made coming and going effortless.

The resort itself was beautiful, but it was the people who made the experience exceptional. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

The facilities were all pretty good. The buffet was always lukewarm, but pretty tasty. The highest point were my butlers, Raymond and Kurtney! They gave EXCELLENT service and was a tremendous representation of your organization! They were the ones that saved my experience. The greatest downside was the children everywhere. I always choose an adult ONLY resort, which is what I thought this was. The Hideaway was an adult only section, but if you share everything else with the family resort it defeats the purpose.

A mixed bag. The airport transfer is a minimum of 90 minutes. Roads are bad & its not comfortable. Driving by locals can be scary!

The hotel is big & geared to the US market. It consists of 8 accomodation blocks in a U shape around the beach with the main building at the back. Rooms & beds are pretty good.

The \"Hideaway\" is a complete misnomer, its just the first 3 blocks on one side & not hidden away at all.

It has its own pool & bars + section of the beach & is adults only. The pool area is very noisy because of non-stop music played at the bar all afternoon. Its not a place to spend a relaxed & quiet day,

If there is one word to describe the whole place its \"NOISY\". Leaf blowers going at 7:30 am, construction works at 7pm, incessant music around the pool & sometimes 2 lots of music playing at adjacent pools.

The main entertainment stage is directly below & in front of the main lounge/bar area & any time it is in use the volume is immense. This makes the lobby bar areas unusable. There was some sort of DJ event on Sat 31st Jan where the noise level was utterly absurd.

The food is pretty good & the drinks are branded. There are 5 or 6 restaurants apart from the main buffet. Unfortunately, all these are also really noisy because they have hard tiled floors & high ceilings & no soft furnishings. Sound just bounces around inside them,

Don't buy anything like sunscreen or insect repellent from the shop. The prices are beyond obscene - left a bad taste. 5 star? Maybe..

Cleanliness, quality of food, long wait times, advertise 7 restaurants but only 1 and buffet open. Staff ignores you when you approach the bar, most look like they don’t want to be there. Made reservations for the Culinary Experience, when we arrived it was closed. Made reservations for private beach dinner pre-ordered the surf and turf package. The package stated “ lobster and filet.” When we were seated and champagne opened we were told they were out of lobster, and prawns were the substitute. We received thin, tough meat and small shrimp. Never received our birthday gift from guest services. Awful, I do not recommend.

We travel a lot and first time at Royalton and this is the first time we felt uncomfortable with the majority of the staff being rude and not courteous. We definitely said thank you to the few that were nice. Unaware with original booking upon check in asked to pay required daily tax upfront. Arrived when dark and no lights in hallway to room and elevator out of order. This resort is not fully adults only. The hideaway is very small and shared with family side at beach, restaurants, pools and entertainment. Our room was not cleaned on the second day and had to ask 3 times to restock the refrigerator with water. Also, this is not a fully stocked mini bar, only 2 small beers. Had leak in bathroom sinks and took numerous requests to get fixed and still leaked. The beach was an unorganized mess, not enough chairs and very crowded, cushions were filthy, torn and worn out and towels were very old and faded. Only can sign out snorkel gear for half hr and only had one pair available so couldn't snorkel together. Rooms are run down and back to main entrance to lobby and heard lots of commotion delivering elevator parts on crates. Sports bar over 1 hr wait for food, no pretzels, no beer during big game. No coconut martini at main bar. Overall, not sure we will recommend to friends wanting to visit in August.

My wife surprised me with a trip to the Royalton Saint Lucia, and while I would never complain in front of her about a gift like this, it was clear that she was disappointed given the cost and expectations.

The resort is marketed as a luxury experience, which is of course subjective, but it did not feel luxurious to us. Upon arrival, we were dropped off at the so-called VIP check-in area, which was underwhelming. The drop-off itself felt more like a motel entrance than a luxury resort. Ironically, the main hotel reception area looked far more appropriate, so I’m not sure why VIP guests are directed to this separate space. The VIP check-in felt like a brightly lit waiting room with no real décor or atmosphere. There was no welcome drink, no sense of arrival, and no experience that made us feel like we had booked an adults-only luxury resort. Check-in was slow and inefficient, to the point that we didn’t even want to wait for the bellboy and carried our own luggage to the room.

My wife had booked an ocean-view room. In reality, most rooms at the resort appear to have some form of ocean view, as the buildings are laid out in a horseshoe shape facing the cove. Our room was fine and did have a partial ocean view, but it didn’t feel meaningfully different from what I imagine most other rooms would offer.

We booked the presidential suit in the Hideaway Resort for the Christmas and stayed in tge unit 3310. It is a 3 star service and food with a 5 star price, way overpriced and disappointing. We tried to make the best of it.

The staff response very slow and often simply ignore the request and won't provide it.
Only cheap liquor, no premium wine or whiskey (even to purchase to enjoy it). They don't even provide straw and expect you to drink the smoothies!

Our bathroom lights went out tonight out of four nights, and had to use my flash light.

No sheets or pillows for the sofa bed, it took several phone calls to get them at midnight!

At arrival, the receptionist didn't bother to stand up or even offer help to move our bags to the room!

The elevators are dirty, like has not been cleaned in years, way small, and no fan or ventilation, and definitely watch out for its door, it closes fast and hits you hard!

The shower valve hot/cold direction was wrong and burned us a couple of times!

Their hair dryer did not plug into the bathroom outlet! Wrong type, Lol!

The shower water flow was slow and insufficient, yet the water pressure in the public area resroom was so fast and strong that would soak you standing two feet away!

I asked for SCUB Diving and they signed me for SNUBA!

I can list another 10+, but i guess you got it.

I don't know how is part of Royalton Group.
No beach, no entertainment, not enough staff, poor food and a la carte restaurant never has anything in the menu. And on top of that, in the last day they took $ from our credit card without any explanation and no authorization.
If you go to that hotel, take a picture of the contract you have to sign at the check-in when they also take your credit card#. Ask for statement of your room when you check-out and take a picture when they cut your magnetic bracelets.
They will charge you for no reason, after you leave. When you call the hotel and ask why they charged you- the reason is changing from one person to another

Absolutely would never stay at this resort or recommend it to anyone. Not one staff member was helpful or friendly. You can tell the resort is not maintained very well as there is tons of damage in the rooms, restaurants, and pools. None of the windows in the restaurants seemed to have ever been cleaned. Room cleaning was just re doing the bed. 1/5 stars and that is being generous.

We had a wonderful time at the Royalton. Stayed in Hideaway (adults only side) and did Diamond Club, which was so worth it. Our butlers (Nikita and Kayson) helped with what we needed, they were able to get us dinner reservations. Dinner at Hibachi, Italian and Tex Mex were great. Service was good, there were times where the hotel appeared understaffed, but we were happy with the trip. The hotel is 90 minutes from the airport and it's an experience to get there, lots of windy roads. Some people have gotten motion sickness secondary to this, so just be prepared. St. Lucia is beautiful and more mountainous that I expected. Staff at the Hideaway bar (Stephen, his sister and his crew) were lots of fun.

The hotel overall was ok. Me and my husband spent our anniversary here. When we got to our room, the tub was dirty as if somebody had just left. The shower room had hair in it, as well as hair on the toilet. The cushions on the couch were also dirty. The room service was good. We did room service late night and it came in a decent amount of time. The staff were really nice. I was kind of worried from previous reviews saying that they were rude but we did not experience that at all. From housekeeping, dining, and around the resort everyone was friendly.

We stayed at The Hideaway at Royalton St. Lucia for our two-week honeymoon and were very disappointed. We expected a luxury experience but faced repeated service failures and poor management response.

Our in-room drinks were often not restocked, and one night all our towels were taken and not replaced. Despite calling reception immediately, it took over two hours for new towels to arrive, so we had to go to dinner without being able to dry off after a shower.

We also booked the “Culinary Experience” at an extra cost, advertised as seven courses with cocktail pairings. It turned out to be six courses, and the only drink options were red or white wine.

Restaurants were frequently out of key dishes, including the steakhouse running out of steak, and some “all-inclusive” items suddenly had extra charges. Pool bars regularly ran out of basic drinks. When we raised these concerns, we were met with vague apologies and empty promises that issues would be “looked into.” It often felt like staff were simply trying to delay action, hoping we would stop asking or check out before anything was resolved.

The list of isses goes on but I have had to cut it short to meet the review character limit.

The resort itself is beautiful, but the poor service and lack of accountability ruin the experience. For the price and expectations of a luxury honeymoon, this was a major letdown. We would not recommend this resort until management makes serious improvements.

First I want to say the concierge woman that checked us in Rizaria (I might have misspelled her name), she was a complete angel. Very honest, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Shout out to her!

The room was cool, I appreciated the keys being on wrists and the staff cleaning at a reasonable time in the morning. I will say the shower had hair from the last guests :/

The food was mid. Well, the restaurants they did have open. Also you have to make reservations for all the restaurants which is kind of annoying because reservations don’t open till about 12pm. I will say the food truck in the middle of the resort has some good jerk chicken and rice and peas!

The bars were nice. There were bars all over the resort.

Beautiful grounds, pool, bars and restaurants on-site. All inclusive makes it all worth it. Nightly entertainment. Friendly staff and laid back culture helped to create a relaxed atmosphere. Nice protected beach was clean and calm. A bit of a ride from airport (UVF) and a bit distant requiring rental or taxis to visit city centers or other beaches/attractions.

The property itself was lovely. The view, the size of the room, the many pools and honestly the resort it self wasn’t that busy, which allowed for a good time without feeling overwhelmed

The abundance of pools and cabanas available was a huge sell and they had a great food truck you could eat at when the standard places closed between meals.

We had a very small handful of really nice staff but a lot of them were really kind of rude and standoffish. Our mattress had bed bug stains and sheddings. We went with 6 other couples and 2 other couples had to be moved to a different room due to bed bugs. That was the biggest turn off, after getting bit, showing the evidence it was still treated very dismissively

First and foremost, the Royalton Hideaway resort is a total embarrassment for anyone to visit. The all-inclusive resort, intended for adults 21 years and older, shares the same lot as the main Royalton right across the way. There were many children in all parts of the unsuitable resort, which is a clear violation of the adult all-inclusive policy. I highly recommend that the Royalton Hideaway resort in St Lucia be permanently closed! Everyone should avoid this property. It does not live up to the standards of an all-inclusive adult resort at all.

From the moment my daughter and I arrived, our annual vacation experience was highly disappointing. After a long flight, all we wanted to do was rest. We arrived at the resort around 7 pm. To our surprise, our room was dirty. There was no toilet paper, a hole in the mattress, eye lashes and hair all over the sheets and pillow cases, the room had a strong mold odor, and no washcloths. When we called to speak with someone at the front desk, there was no answer. We called multiple times.
At any resort, when a guest calls the front desk, the staff answers on the first ring. Not here! We had to leave the room and take a filthy, very shaky elevator to the ground floor, where we found a very dark walkway leading to the front desk. As we were walking, another guest commented, \"well I guess they did not pay the electricity bill\" in which made us feel unsafe to walk throughout the resort's main lobby area.

All Hideaway bars constantly kept running out of alcohol and seemed to have no way of getting any more. They would say they were out, and that was it; you either had to try to pick something else or go without. There was no top-shelf alcohol in the entire resort. The hideaway advertises \"Adult Only,\" but to have no top shelf and also running out of the cheap brands they had was unacceptable. We had an issue with a staff member and spoke to one of the managers and were told someone would get back with us, and this NEVER HAPPENED.

The property was nice. The housekeeping was not the greatest. Our room was cleaned, but they did not provide any new wash clothes or handtowels or additional hand soap. I called and requested multiple times and they never provided. We received wash clothes with the next days cleaning and again no new soap was provided. We had to use the body wash to clean our hands.

This is my best place to stay in St. Lucia. The staff is wonderful. I don’t like the fact they they’re not allowed to speak their native languages when guests are present. As a traveler I think it’s important to hear different languages. The place is beautiful.

We had a good time , the people at the reception and the entertainment were great but the waiters in the main restaurant were not attentive at all ( they don’t like their jobs and they are nor welcoming at all ). The food was good at the japenese and steak house restaurant but , the food in the main restaurant was not good at all and almost no choices .

The good- The property was beautiful. We dated in hideaway plus Diamond Club and our butlers Fabian & Benjamin were awesome. So was our housekeeper Ginette.
The bad- being locked out of our room due to some system outage. Having to go in an all day excursion without access to any of my cash, my phone for photos/memories, sun visor, etc returning 9 hours later and still locked out. Waiting for 2 security guards to go building to building before we can be let back in. My husband had to know on our neighbors door (honeymooners? Ask to go through their room and swim up pool to get to our swim up pool and come through our patio doors, trek water throughout our room and let me in. But if you leave your room you have to leave the deadbolt open so you can get back in or go through process of waiting for security. Hotel lobby says to put items in safe and leave door open if you want to leave for dinner. The next morning, still not fixed and had to leave open as we head out for another pre-paid excursion. Our butler messaged me to let me know the system was fixed and that we needed to get room key reprogrammed once we returned. After all of that, the hotel only wants to offer a $50 credit towards your balance with them. Not credit for any Marriott. If you have no balance you get nothing for the inconvenience. So glad I booked through Expedia and not direct. At least Expedia offered me a $400 key cash credit towards my next booking with them. Thank you Expedia!!!

We had a terrific time at royalton hideaway. We stayed for 6 nights. I really do t understand the low ratings I read before arriving. Most of them seemed pretty petty. The staff was ver helpful, we stayed hideaway diamond club. The Butler service was very helpful, the pool bar tenders at the hideaway were excellent. Good gym. Many food options and yes you need reservations for the restraints at dinner time.

Not Impressed! Stayed at the Haley, which basically means we hide you away from all of the amenities!!! It’s at the end of the property and you have to track to amenities.

Don’t waste your time calling the front desk. If you’re lucky and they feel picking up, they will transfer you to the staff cafeteria repeatedly.

Don’t ask for anything which is outside of their usual process. Like asking for a cart to help you take your luggage to your car BEFORE you’ve completed your checkout process. It was our last day, we woke up wallet and wanted to put our luggage in the car early to avoid the chaos at the desk at normal checkout time. Then go and have breakfast after, and then finally checkout. They refused to send anyone until after ate ate and were ready to checkout. We wheeled our bags ourselves from building 3 to the parking lot! Then had breakfast, and then checked out.

The property is not being maintained. I’ve heard they’ve purchased a new proper in Rodney Bay, so guessing they’re not putting any money into this building before potentially selling it!

The staff walk around as if they’re at home with friends. Laughing and chatting with each other and disregarding the customer. It’s pervasive and systemic that you cannot blame the staff. It’s a top down, management issue!!!

We were there for our honeymoon for 1 night. The front desk promised us that we would be able to get a dinner reservation, just explain to the restaurant manager. Good luck!!

We just arrived home from a lovely holiday at Royalton St Lucia and we would highly recommend this resort, great facilities, the most lovely staff , great food and a great selection of restaurants, we loved it

And St Lucia is of course truly beautiful

The resort is not new and there a few bits of maintenance needed here and there but nothing that interfered with our holiday

This is ranked as a 5 star resort but in reality it is not. Service and food at the buffet was hit or miss. Getting towels or water in the room again not consistent. Some of the staff were amazing but a lot of staff were not and I felt like I was bothering them. The resort was very generic and didn’t feature a lot of local culture. If you like country music this is the resort for you, they played it constantly. I did not feel like I was in Saint Lucia.

Sold as a premium property. It was not. From arrival to departure the key service word was \"unfortunately\" e.g. unfortunately, your room is not ready on time and the restaurant reservation you requested cannot be confirmed...
The special Orbitz VIP service was completely ignored. The requests made were reasonable, within the Orbitz program but were \"unfortunately\" denied. There were many service issues such as simple courteous communication, room readiness and and check out timing. There were property issues including a mold scent in the block and a broken elevator. Perhaps the most laughable was the over one hour room service response with inedible food.
At checkout, I requested a management conversation. When \"unfortunately\" no manager was available, I asked for a call or e-mail. No call or e-mail were received now weeks later and there is no evidence of an effort made by management to communicate. Hideaway and its staff did not meet the five star plus rating in the Orbitz booking. Its management is either unaware or uncaring.

The resort is a bit outdated. My bathroom had water damage. The maid service never replaced the shower gel when it was clearly gone. Some of the employees behavior was as if they didnt want to be at work. They were understaffed in some areas. Service was delayed at some bars. Some of the towels were dingy and sheets stained.

There are two things I didn’t like. One was it supposed to be all inclusive there was only two beers in the room and limit two beers per day for the room. I asked twice for a bottle opener and not even once did I receive it. I had to go and purchase one. Other wise it was a beautiful resort. Make sure to make your reservation the day you get there because it book really fast. The reservation is for your dinner.

This is the second Hideaway that I’ve stayed at. I wanted to visit all of them because of the wonderful time that I had at the one in Negril Jamaica. I’m sorry to say that I was not impressed by St Lucia’s property. The place was dirty and the elevators weren’t working almost the whole time we were there. We could never reach the desk from our room no one would ever pick up so we had to walk there every time we needed something. The staff were nice but the vibe team was not vibing. I loved the island but the property was not great. I guess my expectations were too high from my last experience.

It advertised as an adults only resort and its not..... kids were running around everywhere.... You had to confine yourself to a corner of the resort where it was adults only.... But kids were all over the restaurants and everywhere else...straight up false advertising.... entertainment was a disaster....starting late...canceled for no reason....most of it was karoake... or a singer singing over karoake tracks.....fire show was decent until it morphed into a limbo contest.....

This was our second time at the Royalton Saint Lucia. The food is amazing! We love the multiple restaurants. Our favourite was Calypso. They also have 24/7 room service included your stay which was awesome.
We liked staying in the hideaway and having a separate part of the hotel with pool.
We wish the entertainment was better. Many of the shows were the same as when we were here 2 years ago, particularly the Michael Jackson routine. Other than the foam party, everything was pretty low key. Quiet.
Our room did have 2 water leaks coming from the ceiling. Maintenance came right away for the first one but took hours to come the second time (chunks of the plaster were falling from the ceiling because the leak was so bad, luckily it was above the bath tub).
There were a lot of people on the beach trying to sell you items.
We would recommend this hotel👍

it was nice and relaxing. i didn’t like how some of the restaurants had restrictions. Most of the staff was nice and respectful but there was two that were standoffish. one employee didn’t want to get syrup for us when it was breakfast. i love the food they cooked, very refreshing and different. one of the lady’s in the market was really nice. the food truck, buffet and steakhouse were my favorite. activities were fun and had a amazing tour and experience with the jetski. will definitely book again! they also had little events on the island that were also fun. drinks were good, pisces bar was a good bar. overall the trip was a 5/5. weather was good, it rained one day but it was still hot.
