Overall, the resort was decent. The food was good and most of the staff were friendly. However, the property definitely needs some upgrades. Some of the equipment seems outdated, and our room had issues such as a broken doorknob and a broken locker, which should have been fixed before guests arrive.

Excursions Arranged Through the Resort

Communication about the excursions arranged through Sea Cruise needs significant improvement. When we booked the Toug Bay excursion, the resort staff never mentioned that the trip does not include both the mud bath and the volcano view. The brochure also failed to clearly state that it is either one or the other, not both.

The Sea Cruise staff member, Cortney, was also unclear when explaining the trip details. Because of the lack of proper information, we ended up missing out on the mud bath experience entirely, which was very disappointing.

We also felt rushed during the waterfall stop, which took away from the overall experience. As a group, we felt the excursion was not worth the money, especially if you are not particularly interested in snorkeling.

The staff were fabulous! Kind, attentive, and just wonderful overall. The ocean views are gorgeous. Food was great with lots of variety as were the drinks. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The spa was lovely! So was the cafe. Definitely recommend.

The one downside was that we were the last room before the new construction and awake to drilling, hammering or some other noise at 8AM each morning. And some attachment to the new build flapped in the wind and hit the building, making loud noises all night. We were in paradise so, we sucked it up but that was unfortunate and made our trip less restful than it should have been.

Rooms are very spacious and well kept (freshly painted, new appliances). Pool is very nice, gym is OK (excellent variety of equipment for a hotel gym, but kind of old/worn). Location right on the beach is fantastic — water is SO nice. And plenty of water sport options to be had. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Of note, we did have a bunch of minor problems — TV didn’t work, shower drain got clogged, key entry stopped working. They did fix them all fairly quickly, but I guess they could use a bit of a maintenance upgrade. None caused us anything other than a First World Problem!

Overall, a very nice stay in Saint Lucia. I think other resorts may be nicer, but value here was definitely good from whatever else I saw.

We spent almost a week at Bay Gardens Beach Resort with our two kids (5 and 7) and had a really enjoyable stay.

The pool was the highlight for our family. The different depths made it safe and fun for both children — our youngest gained confidence in the water, and our oldest improved a lot. Having the restaurant and bar right between the pool and the beach was also very convenient. The food and cocktails were good, and there was live music or entertainment on many evenings, which created a nice atmosphere without feeling overwhelming.

Our room was spacious, bright, and clean, with two large beds that worked perfectly for the four of us. The staff were consistently kind and attentive. We arrived on my wife’s birthday, and the reception team surprised her by singing to her — a small but thoughtful gesture we truly appreciated.

The location is great if you plan to stay around Rodney Bay, but keep in mind that exploring other parts of the island takes some time.

Overall, we’re very grateful to the team for making our family holiday so pleasant.

A very nice facility, as well as the other 2 associated facilities we visited. The pool area is wonderful and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful with what appeared to be 'new' staff learning the ropes.
They are doing some major construction and we were unlikely to have the room immediately next to the new building going up - which meant not being able to use the outdoor beach front balcony due to the all day noise and on occasion extending inside the room during the evening.
Might consider coming next year... if construction was completed.

Upon arrival check-in went smooth and our room was immediately ready. It had just been cleaned (the floors were still wet) but they allowed us in. The oceanfront king was nice- basic, clean and met our needs. Breakfast buffet was $55 USD and just average. Coffee was often cold and we had to ask for a fresh pot. Cafe with gourmet coffees opens at 10 (why not 7?!!) Gift shop advertised being open 9-5 but was literally never open. Lunch and dinner were overpriced ‘buffet only’ some days, even though there is an a la carte menu advertised. Servers weren’t friendly or eager to help. Front desk, tour desk and housekeeping staff were kind and friendly. Pool towels were hardly ever available which was really annoying. Please just buy more towels. The worst part of the stay was the constant harassment on the beach from locals selling everything under the sun. It was so excessive that you could not relax for five minutes. No thank you worked for most people. However the “Coconut man” was extremely aggressive. A simple “no thank you“ wasn’t enough. He then tried to intimidate us to at least give him a tip (for nothing) and when I told him absolutely not, he threatened us by saying “you don’t want to disappoint the island man” with a machete in his hand. Apparently security can’t or won’t say anything? Provide as advertised, teach food staff customer service skills and please, if possible, do something about the thug on the beach!

The beach view was great. The bar was average. Didn't even have chocolate liquor. Staff was kind but management was poor and unhelpful bordering on rude. Towel shack was consistently unmanned. Food pricing was ridiculous. Xmas lunch buffet. $80us each for Spaghetti, cake, salad, some dry pig and turkey left overs. The price they quoted me was 2x what they charged me.. I thought SLD. Christmas dinner came out room temp. Difficult to even have them keep water glasses full. At 8:30AM, all the pool chairs has towels laid on them to claim but people werent in them 50% of the time+. The jazuzzi was broken the whole 5 days. Xmas. Pretty poor planning. With all the kid advertising, we couldnt even find a ball. Their store has virtually nothing.----Not like any \"Resort\" I've seen. We spent a lot of money for 5 days. Pretty disappointing. The transfer to UVF, they charged me 10% to put on my bill. Pretty cheap. Elevated it to the Duty Mgr. Useless. Shared with the GM --about as useless. Didnt care---said, that is your opinion.

Bay Gardens Beach Resort provided a relaxing couple day stay in the Rodney Bay area. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning quiet. A major downside was not knowing the resort was undergoing construction when I booked a garden room. The balcony view was a construction site next door. It was unexpected and we would have paid for an upgraded room if it were offered or we had known in advance. We had half board (breakfast and dinner included) for two nights. Dinner included a drink per person, appetizer, main, and dessert. Great breakfast! Your credit card doesn't remain on file so anything purchased separately needs to be paid at time of sale. It was just a little quirky. We still settled a bill for tips from dinners at the end of the stay. I had an issue with the supposedly FREE mon-motorized Walter-Sport available to guests: stand up paddle board or hobie cat. The owner questioned our sailing ability (like demanded to know our sailing resume) for the hobie cat and yelled at her staff for not putting a life jacket in the right spot. We pointed to our national regatta competition shirt. She sneered anyone can buy a shirt. We sailed the hobie cat in the bay 1.25 hours (fun) and got yelled at (seriously) when we came back for being late when we said at the beginning we didn't have a watch & the attendant put her hand out for a tip for handing in our life vests. The resort needs a much friendlier water sport vendor.

We traveled as a family with 2 young children (4 and 6). We had a pool view suite, with a full kitchen. It was spacious, the view was wonderful, and the housekeeping was helpful. The staff overall was very kind and caring. We enjoyed the pool, as well as the private beach with access to beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach was calm and clean, ideal for young children who aren't great at swimming yet. We enjoyed being able to use Splash Island as well as kayaks. We booked an excursion through the tour desk and had a great time - there was someone on staff coordinating with the tour company, and really on top of things, as they were late. We also enjoyed the evening programming - Wednesday night's manager's cocktail with local music and performances was so fun and festive! Lastly, staff were looking out for our kids, and letting us know when Kids Club activities were on, so they could take part, and my 6 year old really enjoyed the art projects. We had a great time!!

I was in a room with a restricted view, scaffolding; became aware at bedtime when closing the bedroom curtains. Raised this with the hotel in the morning. Informed the scaffolding should have been taken down and thus would be done this same day, Sunday. Also told there was not another available ground floor suite. I was offered 2 free massages as apology.
Sunday came and went, scaffolding nit removed. Approached hurtling management in Monday, agencies it would be taken down. I also raised concentrate when ht trained ( and we are in the rainy season, we couldn’t use the patio as the roof buckled, cascading water shuck covered the patio as well as table and chairs. Despite raising my concern, both verbally and in messages neither the scaffolding or patio was addressed. In fact the scaffolding was not removed and remained blocking my view until I left the Bay Gardens Beach Resort after 5 nights. I found out that the scaffolding was there because the outside was being painted and that work had not been completed and painters were still there when I left.I declined the massages. I was disappointed having stayed at the Bay Gardens on previous occasions. My experienced was not good considering I booked months in advance to be there to celebrate my 70th birthday. I did not hear anything from the management and have not since. A very disappointing experience and being lied to only made it worse.

First impressions from the front desk was very unwelcoming. I felt like the lady didn’t have a consistent approach and warmth for all guests. On the first morning, beach towels weren’t available until about 10:30am. The previous day in the afternoon, none were available.

The majority of the staff at the bar and restaurant were nice and provided a much better customer experience. But overall, the whole vibe was killed when checking in. I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels in St Lucia. Doubt I’ll return here.

A Little Goes a Long Way

It was easy to maneuver on the property. Access to the beach was quick and easy. I was disappointed in that my room was described as \"Deluxe Garden View King\". It was far from that. My view was men working on construction from 8 am to 8 pm. My television did not wotk and had to be switched out. I had issues with the safe. I had to call the front desk to ask for washcloths. Overall, I paid too much money for what I received.

The hotel had good location but there were issues relating to the hotel. There is currently construction work on the site of the hotel which was very disturbing. Upgrade was given after complaining about the disturbance.

The hotel had issues with water where there was no water on site for several hours in the morning.

The menu was set with the same food except for one day a week, which was not a positive thing.
Breakfast was alot better.

Staff were friendly and tried to be accommodating on issues after complaining that the cleaning staff had taken items from our room.

We stayed here for the night after staying at Bay Gardens Inn. The room was nice but sink was broken,TV didn't work view said garden but it was of a construction site. Would not spend the money on this hotel. It is not in great condition and you don't even get the mediocre breakfast included. I would stay at the inn and just use the pool and beach at the resort. Didn't even recognize the vip status and had ask them about the discount.

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. It was our first time at St. Lucia and we felt very welcomed. Everyone was kind. The resort itself was a bit smaller and in average condition, a bit on the older side; however, the beach view and sunsets make up for it.

The \"Hi-Tide Restaurant\" was great! We had a large selection of food and drinks to choose from. Staff was friendly, specifically Savaennah. The resort also offered live entertainment, which complemented the dining experience.

Would definitely recommend for a more lowkey vacation. Thank you Bay Gardens!

While the staff at the property were friendly and attentive, our overall experience was affected by poor communication with management, which caused several setbacks. The food was disappointing often too salty, bland, or served cold which led us to dine off-property at times. Although breakfast was the highlight of the meals, the overall menu was limited, repetitive, and many items were unavailable. Unfortunately, the dining experience did not meet our expectations.We reported that the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working properly, and it took three days and a second complaint for the issue to be addressed. Additionally, despite informing the hotel of our early arrival, we were made to wait over five hours for our room, even after a long and exhausting flight. After raising concerns, we were given an upgrade, but it did little to make up for the inconvenience.

A Hotel Trying to Parade As a High-End Resort

The Bay Gardens was an adequate stay for us. Nothing extraordinary. It was a 3 star hotel trying to pass off as a 4 star resort in our opinion. We were disappointed that Bay Gardens and the rooms did not match our expectations with the posted pictures. The rooms were clean and all. Nothing wrong there. But the bathroom had a musty smell all the time which we didn't enjoy. And the bedroom would get so hot and humid. And being next to the bathroom, when the AC works, that musty smell would get into the bedroom. It's just not a high-end resort as they try to project. And we think it was over-priced for the quality. We will not return to this resort again, not in the condition it is in. They are building some new extensions to the place. Maybe those will be better.

The beach was beautiful. That was the only nice thing about Bay Gardens Resort. It was not a resort at all. Hardly anyone there yet they had no beach towels, they were being washed. Breakfast was skippy at best. Food was poor quality. Staff looked annoyed to be there. Our bathroom had a moldy bath mat. The gym was a shack with old furniture. If you’re used to nice places when you travel this isn’t it. I felt I was at a motel!

At $200 USD per night most 3 star hotels offer breakfast all over the world. This was not the case and a huge negative for me especially in the Caribbean

I had the VIP status but they still put us in a room with construction happening right outside. I couldn’t sit on the balcony because of the noise and we couldn’t leave the curtains open because of the lack of privacy. The resort only moved us after I made many requests and sent a message to Expedia. Once I did message Expedia, we were moved quickly. Our next room was good. The reception staff were friendly and some of the restaurant staff were nice but we felt that many of the resort workers were unhelpful and unhappy. Because of this, we all felt uncomfortable asking for anything even though we had the all inclusive package.

5 star for the beach very nice clear and calm water good for the kids specially the water park, the property is great walkable to restaurants and shopping mall. Service is not good, staff is not approachable and not smiling but thanks to ANVILLA (BGBR) who serves us with a smile makes us very happy with her service unlike the other ones sims not happy with their job. And shout out also to HELLENA and BIANCA from the sister hotel (BGH) serves us with a smile uswell like ANVILLA giving 3 of them a 5 star for their service. Food is okay sometimes they don’t refill the food if you came late for buffet. But still happy for the BEACH and WATERPARK highly recommend for the little ones!

The staff was very friendly and in particular the front desk were very nice. The property is dated. the restaurant needs to be updated and provide better food options. the hotel area seems unsafe and anyone from the public can gain access to the premises relatively easy.

We stayed at Waters Edge Villa 1. I think the staff at the desk, Vernel from housekeeping and George James the shuttle driver were excellent in their duties, and had a great, friendly disposition. John (last name not noted), the other shuttle driver, had a perpetual, unfriendly attitude, was rude, always angry, berating, and therefore unsettling to be around. Krishnal, the manager, who had ample opportunity to fix much-discussed shortcomings at the villa, failed us miserably, as she did not fix nor communicate to us the status of the issues that we complained about on almost a daily basis. One room never had hot water for their showers during our entire stay causing another couple to have to get up early so that the couple downstairs could use their bathroom, and the dishwasher never got fixed causing us to hand wash and dry dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans for 10 people after every meal. This took forever and took away a lot of the enjoyment out of the stay as it ate up a chunk of my leisure time. The oven did not work properly, as well as the lights in the dining room. At least on the second day, the dining room lights got fixed but everything else did not. Way too much money was spent to have had to deal with these major inconveniences.

Building site!!

Our room was supposed to have a garden view but it was a view of a very noisy building site. We feel the room was miss sold to us - it was expensive, we booked it due to the location next to the beach and expected it yo be quiet!! We specifically picked this hotel and paid extra as we thought it looked very nice from your website. If you are going to sell rooms next to a building site you should be selling them at a reduced price and make that clear BEFORE the customer pays. I spend a lot of money each year with Hotels.com and this is very poor service.

Very relaxing and happy place. The Staff were great! Rooms very spacious and well equipped. Beach was very nice and staff helpful with excursions.

Hot water could be better.
A coffee and tea bar in the morning would make a big difference. Staff was busy with breakfast service and it was thus inconvenient to get coffee (not the staff’s fault, they were great).
