Hotel good medium size, lovely pools and gardens, lovely layout and all well maintained and spotless.
Beach was okay but not great, the sea is not as calm and clear as others we have stayed at.
Staff were lovely, ever helpful and very cheery.
Was well done in that one of the pools had entertainment throughout the day and the second was quiet and relaxed. There are also places to sit along the long pool which was nice. The hotel has a good vibe.

Our original room was at the far end where the road noise is quite bad. However, we complained and were moved next day to a room at the other end with much less traffic noise. Both rooms were themselves fine. Comfortable, well laid out and clean with good daily room service.

The main disappointment for us was the food. There are few restaurant choices for dinner, the quality isn’t great and the menus at the restaurants do not change. We also tried out the restaurants at the other two Sandals hotels a couple of times but were also not greatly impressed. The fact that it took longer than expected (40 mins+) to get there in the appalling traffic also made this option less desirable.

Second disappointment was the rip off trips. Don’t bother with the shopping trip - it’s a bus ride to the port shops (really!) plus a very disappointing market.
We took a day trip on a catamaran which was okay though quite expensive and with too many people on the boat.

The resort itself was great—very chill, romantic, and full of greenery. Our room was cleaned daily, and the staff was consistently friendly and welcoming.

The only downside was the location near a highway, so you could hear traffic at times. The food was decent overall, but most of the fine-dining restaurants were fully booked during our stay, so unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to try them. The pool area also played music that carried over to the beach, which made it feel a bit less relaxing than expected.

Other than the staff forgetting to do the honeymoon room setup on arrival, I’ve got nothing bad to say. All the food was great, beach is pristine, and staff is friendly and responsive. I suppose if you have the rooms at the back end of the resort you will hear some road noise due to proximity of the hwy, but thats not the case for any of the beachfront rooms. All in all amazing experience and would come back again.

It’s a stunning property! We got a walk out and our room was conveniently located to the pools, restaurants, gym, tennis court, beach, and front desk. The beach is clean and beautiful with plenty of seating options. Everyone there was on their honeymoon and the resort was really quiet at night time. If you’re looking to meet new people and stay out late, then this resort won’t give you that. If you want to relax and spend quality time with your partner, then it’s perfect.

This was our 3rd stay at a Sandals resort (various islands) & we feel Sandals is the best.
Their staff is friendliest, resort(s) are cleanest.
For this resort, every staff member was great. To name a few:
Kareem at Irie Bar
Nicole at Paradise swim up bar
Lindia at Kaminos Japanese restaurant

To top all of them, Mr. Singh, the executive chef of the property. He took care of our asks & his food preparation was excellent.

We highly recommend Sandals Halcyon (Adults Only) at St Lucia.
However, for us they are 3 out of 3 during our visits to Sandals.

My husband and I recently stayed at the halcyon st Lucia for our honeymoon and had very high expectations. Unfortunately they were dramatically not met. Not once did I feel special for being there. The honeymoon package that they offer is pretty pathetic, which when we opened our door for the first time, wasn’t even displayed at all! Took 5 days and 3x of asking for the decorated bed, champagne and breakfast in bed. The first night arriving we lost power for 2.5 hours at night and no one was walking around letting us guests know what was happening. It rained the whole time and didn’t offer much activities to do for rainy days. The staff was not friendly. Panhandling happens for the first 3 days which is annoying. I sprained my ankle waiting in the lobby for a shuttle and nurse staff was not friendly or helpful. The worst vacation I’ve ever been on. Super disappointed for wasting our time and money to spend our honeymoon here.

Overall the property is nice and the food is good. Negatives are the incessant traffic noise throughout the property and also that the ocean is murky and quite weedy. We had a decent time but for our first Sandals experience we can’t see how it is worth the extra cost. We didn’t expect little things like an A/C controller not working and a faulty coffee machine.

It has a chill vibe. They had activities and entertainment (In comparison, the Grand St Lucian seemed younger overall and had more of a party vibe).

Beach was big enough. Water was super calm.
Restaurants were great (including the buffet). But if you want to explore the other Sandals resorts, there are shuttles that run all day.

The area around is safe. We walked 10 min up the street to the grocery store to buy candy and stuff for our kids.

We took the helicopter ride to the resort from the airport. Amazing experience ($190 pp). We took the free shuttle back to the airport. It takes about 90 min. I would take Dramamine if you get motion sick. My wife did...and didn't have any issues.

We had a large group. The resort was extremely accommodating in working out meals for us.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was beautiful. This was our first time staying at Sandals resort and we loved it. Will definitely come back and stay at Sandals resort again. Our hotel was very relaxing and quiet, which we loved. The pools were nice and clean and the beach was great as well. If people are looking for a more party atmosphere they also have the Grande which had more of a younger crowd and a bigger hotel in general. You cant go wrong with any one of their 3 locations that are on the island.

Compared to other brands we’ve stayed at, Sandals was ok. Nothing bad at all, we had a great time…it just lacked the overs wow factor that that we’ve experienced with other brands. For this reason, Sandals goes on the bottom of our list compared to our experiences with LIVE AQUA, Secrets, and Excellence. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and although they confirmed several times that we were there to celebrate something special/my birthday- they never did anything special. Bummer.

Our holiday at Sandals Halcyon was amazing from the moment we arrived to the resort to when we departed. The staff were outstanding and provided exceptional luxury hospitality and service. We enjoyed the food, relaxation and all the amenities on the resort. We had the opportunity to take the shuttle and spend a day at sandals Grande and La Toc resort's which were both beautiful but Halcyon is my favorite because it’s smaller, intimate and more personalized. Our stay was overal great. Great people and food and the vibe was so relaxing. Had a very bad experience with the check in we’re the lady told us 5 times that our room will be ready in 30 minutes. Eventually it was ready in a couple of hours. Our shower was also broken and maintenance needed to fix it 3 times before it worked properly.

We were very disappointed. Expected Sandals to be same or better than other 5 star resorts we have stayed at. Our rooms were not ready upon arrival. Sandals provides the airport shuttle so they know exactly when we are arriving. If rooms not clean maybe provide changing room so we can go relax at pool instead of eating a 4:30 lunch to waste time.
Daily housekeeping didn't have rooms cleaned timely. We left at 7:30am with clean room sign on and room still not done until after 4. Had to nap on lounge chairs after our excursion and wait to use room to shower before dinner. Cleaning was good when eventually done but missing supplies and towels.
More staff needed to pick up glasses and plates by the pool. Dirty plates left on tables between lounge chairs. I brought neighbors dirty plates to bar after 3 hours
Sandals should clarify that not all rooms have room service. We booked online and didn't see that needed club service just to get coffee from room service. When I called to ask about the resort customer service did not want to talk with me because I didn't directly book with them. I booked the resort and talked two other couples into joining us. I just wanted to talk with someone at Sandals to see what I could or should do for our group birthday celebration vacation. Not having been to other all inclusive resorts the other couples had a great time. Thanks Jyan at Kellys, chef at breakfast buffet (sorry didn't get name) and Dolores at breakfast.

3 star experience at 5 star prices. Disappointing is the word of the trip. Instead of relaxing, you are forced to compete for limited resources: limited hours for food, limited food on plate, limited buffet to only 1 per day at breakfast, limited beach chairs, limited shuttle bus (every 2 hours and not enough seats so you have to pay a cab US$25 between properties), limited entertainment. It is very clear that the resort was cutting corners to save money at the guests' expense. The people who work there are hard working and friendly, but the amenities advertised do not match what you get when you arrive. Many things are canceled or re-named to save money. Local vendors on the beach property harass constantly to book offside tours. It is not relaxing to be forced to compete for limited resources especially when advertised as a 5 star relaxing carefree vacation experience and especially when the resort knows exactly how many guests are there every day. We have stayed at many other all-inclusive properties and NEVER felt like the resort was short-changing us at every opportunity. For example, they do not restock the room refrigerator (not even water), they do not restock the shampoo and conditioners (and some were half full), they do not restock the expensive \"brand\" drinks (like Johnny Walker Black) in the bars. They make it your problem to have to hunt around the property to find what you pre-paid for at a premium price. And, the only swimmable beach is at Sandals Grande.

Me and my wife arrived on Saturday December 17th, until December 24th, be aware the ride from the airport to the resort is 90 minutes so it might take longer or shorter depending on traffic, the road has alot of hills , twists and turns, so if you are like me and my wife who doesn't get car sick, this ride will make you change your mind, we both had to stop for emergency purposes......lol. Once you arrive to the at the resort, you get greeted by the staff, the place is beautiful, and rooms are cleaned and up to date. The pool was a little bit cold for my taste, but the temperature on the ocean water was alot better. Take advantage of the tours, upon arriving and don't leave it for the last minute like we did, and wind up not going anywhere. We took the opportunity on this trip to renew our vows on Monday, after 23yrs, and the wedding planning, photographer and staff did an awesome job creating this magical moment for me and my wife, the cake, the flowers, and the scenery were unbelievable. The staff worked very hard to make this day very special. You will also have the opportunity to go and hangout to the other resorts like, La Toc and La Grande which I would recommend. Lots of sun, it rained a few days, but mostly at night. The food and drinks are great, entertainments were nice, and the staff is always there to service you at all times. Thank you to the staff and everyone they for making our vacation, and wedding day a great one to remember.

Stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The property itself is great, rooms were spacious and updated. There are 3 main pool areas (including a lazy river) and also had swim up bars. Beach was nice, not too crowded and did not have to get up super early to reserve a spot. 6 dining options and room service also available. The food was excellent. From the breakfast and lunch buffets, to the dinner menus at night at the various restaurants. The drinks were good too. Sandals has 3 locations on St Lucia and you are able to take a shuttle to experience the other resorts as well. Halcyon is more for peace and quiet which is what we wanted. The only negative was our rayban sunglasses were stolen right out of our villa table when the empty drink glasses were taken out. Overall, excellent vacation and resort. Highly recommend!

We just got back from 4 days at the Sandals Halcyon and since I rely heavily on reviews and read them all, I figured it’s only fair I leave one myself.

We spent 4 days here for my birthday and overall our stay was pleasant but we have traveled to several countries and frequent all-inclusive properties, so compared to other experiences this would not be at the top and we would not visit again.

The grounds are beautiful and beachfront is beautiful but a lot things were left to be desired. I read the negative reviews and since the positive ones outweighed them we opted to book here. I hate to say it but after our stay I can see why there are some negative reviews. The service was definitely lacking. Several times we were told things would be brought to our room and never arrived - multiple occasions. Although you see a lot of staff at all times, when giving food service after you’ve received your drinks and food they didn’t really come back to check on if you needed anything or another drink. At the pool there was no one walking around taking drink orders.

We also were not told upon booking our room that it didn’t include room service. We’ve never experienced this at an all inclusive and after checking our booking several times I’ve still yet to see anywhere that notated it was excluded with our room type we booked. Not thrilled about that because there are limited options food and when you can get it. Not really any place to grab snacks or food at your leisure.

Theres a decrepanancy on the pictures and actual appearance. Although the staff was helpful, we think Sandals needs to upgrade and renovate the entire property.

This resort should not be rated 5-stars. I booked this resort through Expedia and their customer service was terrible because of that. We missed our initial flight because we had the wrong COVID-19 test conducted; the country requires a PCR test, not an antigen test. This information was not provided to us by this \"5-star\" resort. When we missed our flight, we tried to connect with Expedia to update our check in time and they bounced us to the resort. When I called the resort, they told us that they had no control over any of reservations booked through Expedia. We were simply trying to update our check-in date and time, without asking for refund or date changes. Through a four-hour continuous hassle on the phone bouncing between Expedia and Sandals, we finally managed to update our check in time.
When we arrived, the shuttle brought us to the resort very fast. Check in was quick and easy, but the room that they so-called \"swim up suite\" were not really swim up suites. They were just rooms by the pool area. That was our first major disappointment.
Finally bullet points:
- Hurrican hit (not mentioned in visitor travel advisory) and we starved for a couple of hours.
- No new towels the three days including the day of hurricane.
- Told us the wrong departure time for our shuttle to leave.
- No information on COVID testing on site.
- Poor communication.
- Damp rooms.
- Dirty bathtub.
- Mediocre food.
- Poor Wi-Fi (must pay for better Wi-Fi).
- Incompetent staff.

Small hotel. Most staff try very hard to ensure you have a good time. The hotel has lots of returning guests. Service at the restaurants can bel rather slow if it’s busy.

Lovely small hotel set in lovely Gardens. Beach is not brilliant though. Good that you can use the restaurants at La Toc and the Grand, but shuttles can be a little hit and miss due to the volume of traffic.

We really liked the size of this resort and friendliness of all of the staff. The times offered for the shuttle between resorts was limited unless you wanted to hire a taxi. We were also told that you could snorkel off the the beach which turned out to not be true. Communication needs some work. Overall stay was excellent and rooms have been recently updated and very comfortable. Food choices were great and delcious!!

The fact you can use the other sandals hotels is a big bonus where the beach and facilities at the grand sandals resort were excellent

great choice of the three Sandals

No regrets on this selection of the three Sandals on St Lucia. Great food, room excellent. Staff very helpful and accommodating. No problems here and loved the shuttles between all three resorts. The quiet pool was great when needed. Couples only.

Nice resort but slow service

The resort staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a smaller resort and I realized immediately that I made a mistake by not booking at the Grande, which is larger and has more to do. We were not able to transfer because the Grande was full so we made the best of this resort. The 2 pool bars close at 5:00pm but one of the main bars opens at that time. The problem is that they go from at least 2 bartenders (usually more) from the 2 pools to 1 bartender at the now only open bar. It takes 7-12 minutes to get a drink. I don't know why they did not staff it better. The restaurant were good but, again, service was slow. We ate at Kelly's one night and dinner took 2 hours. Four of us had to wait for about 1/2 hour for a table to open up but 1/2 of tables were unoccupied! Once we sat down it took about 20 minutes for somebody to come and take our drink order. I did go up to the bar 2 times to get drinks because nobody ever tried to get us drinks. The food was good but by then we were frustrated and just wanted to leave. We went to Mario's one night for dinner and it was wonderful. The host, Dora, was amazing. The service was great and food delicious. Overall, I would for sure stay at Sandals again (we already booked our next trip) but I would not stay at the Halcyon.

Beachfront garden oasis

Of the three Sandals resorts on St. Lucia, this is by far the most quiet and restful. There is plenty to do if you choose, but there are also a lot of places to relax and soak up the beauty of the gardens and beach.

All Inclusive resort on excellent beach

All Inclusive resort , all meals and drinks included. Almost no up charges. Two other Sandals located close to this resort also included. Handy shuttles between resorts also free. Meals were good but not 5 star. All water sports also included such as diving sailing and snorkleing trips.

PEACEFUL QUIET HOTEL

Property has lovely gardens - very well maintained. Super friendly staff. Well organised. Rooms needs some updates but think this is happening as an ongoing basis. Ocean was clean - little bit murky but could swim every day. The island does get windy but we were lucky enough to have either a green or yellow flag every day. Good food hygiene. Island Tours good for excursions.

Worth every penny

This was a great get a way for my wife and I. The entire staff at every facility was extremely nice and service was excellent. There are plenty of activities included in the price. Transportation to other resorts and tours are readily available. The atmosphere is fun and clean without the problems of younger guests being loud and unruly, because there aren't any. After a week I can't think of any negative things to say.

Nice all inclusive resort

This was our first time staying at a Sandals resort. We were able to use all three of the St Lucia hotel facilities which was great. The staff was exceptional! The club level rooms and amenities were nice but nothing outstanding compared to other resorts. The restaurants were all great.

Quiet Get Away

We had a wonderful relaxing time. We are able to visit the other sandals resorts in our visit and were accommodated in the spa to shower and change for dinner; so we didn't have to go back and forth.

This is the place to stay if you want quiet generally and still have the option to visit the other resorts as it is right between them; 15 minutes either direction to the next sandals.

Three star resort

A little short on staff. No tipping even though some staff deserved extra while some did the bear minimum. Mold growing under pool bar, needed to addresed. Activties were very good and food at most restaurants was good. This is a three star resort and a little over priced.

Nice hotel and food but some admin issues

Halcyon is a lovely hotel and the food was great. Overall it was good value booked through hotels.com and the food and grounds are lovely.
Some things need updating for example the sun lounger mattresses are very old and grotty.
Also the admin for the hotel is very poor. We requested to be collected from the small regional airport and we made the request 3 times, by Hotels.com, via the UK Sandals CS team and then when I checked in on line and despite all of that they still didn't collect us from the airport.

Pros and Cons

Loved our vacation there. Loved all the cats but wish they took better care of them. It's a beautiful resort but they should do something about all the people leaving things on the pool beach chairs and being gone for hours. Sometimes there was no two chairs together to sit on. Check in was awesome but check out was awful.
