This hotel looks from the outside like a large residential house that needs a little upkeep. It’s in a purely residential area which is very quiet and safe, rather attractive, but there are no cafes or shops in the immediate vicinity. You can walk to the centre of Delft old town in about 15 minutes. Inside the décor just looks a little tired and the carpets are stained and dirty in many places. There’s no lift and the stairs are steep. We had a deluxe room for two people which gave us a reasonable amount of space. The bathroom was very large and well equipped, though I would have preferred a walk-in shower to the weird triangular bath with shower heads in the wall above it. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a disgrace, like a floppy bag half filled with cotton wool balls. The bedroom has everything you need. The furnishings are neither especially attractive nor comfortable. There was a horrible ratty throw on the bed that I would not allow into my own home. The ikea-type wardrobe has a fridge inside it, which makes the wardrobe itself hot. When we first arrived I wondered if we had made a terrible mistake but it is actually ok as long as you don’t mind basic furniture and people having business meetings a couple of metres away from you when you’re having a quiet breakfast. Wifi weak at times. The place is very clean apart from the stained carpets, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are good. It’s fantastically handy for the Royal Delft Museum.

The room is large and the common areas are nicely appointed. However, I'd warn that this is not a place to stay if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises. Most of the rooms have windows facing a central courtyard where people party and talk very loudly on some nights. The hotel has no staff from 8pm until morning, so there is no way to stop the partying in the central courtyard. I get that staffing a hotel after hours is expensive, so a compromise would be for the hotel to lock up the central courtyard after dark. People can smoke on the front street areas if they need to. There is no need for Casa Julia to make it easy for people to yell, drink, and smoke in the central courtyard around midnight. I mentioned this to the staff the next morning, but they provided no solution, not even a complimentary breakfast or some token gesture for my inconvenience and lack of sleep. To add insult to injury, they asked me to pay the city tax a second time, even though I already paid it and had a receipt for it. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential, but some minor corrections to how the staff handle situations would have been greatly appreciated. It isn't their fault that people were partying in the courtyard but the hotel's policies enable it. If they want to have the courtyard open past 8pm they should consider staffing the front desk longer so they can lock up that area when the staff goes home or can confront guests who are being overly loud.

A nice hotel, an average room
The hotel itself is lovely, with nice finishes and even some royal Delft pieces on display. However, the rooms are in need of some improvement. Our room in July was roasting long after it had cooled down outside, with no Aircon in the room but oddly on the landing. The bed was average, but could have benefitted from a bedside table so we didn't have to place everything on the floor. The bathroom was clean it a little dated.

Shower has very little pressure, making it very challenging to take a shampoo. Bed is uncomfortable — two beds that are linked by some sort of pad, but it keeps separating. Pillows are also second-rate. I was very dismayed to be charge 50 Euros for checking in a mere 90 minutes early after flying overnight. My room was already cleaned and ready to go, so why charge such a high fee when most hotels would have happily allowed early check-in as a courtesy. And charging 20 Euros for a mediocre breakfast was also a disappointment.

We were in quite a noisy room. People coming and going and the door banging was quite disturbing to sleep. Service wis, it was not staffed properly for a fully booked weekend and there was only one person ever doing any of the front desk and waiting on breakfast. Overall nice place but must ask for a different room next time.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly, the property is centrally located (especially if you have business with the nearby university or are interested in touring the Royal Delft Pottery factory), and was quite clean. We appreciated the multitude of USB charging ports and oscillating fan, too! Our room was upstairs above the kitchen and the aroma of freshly baked bread in the morning was all I needed to get up! The furnishings trend more toward functional but everything needed was present and it was all quite clean.

Lovely hotel about 10 min walk to the centre. I stayed on a very hot day and the room was stifling hot, couldn’t open the window as it opened onto the street. No air conditioning only a room fan.

Casa Julia occupies a big, beautiful house in a lovely residential area of Delft. The rooms are arranged so that people can be having a conversation in the kitchen/dining area without it being heard at all in the bedrooms. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with so many kind touches (robes, an extra blanket, hot pot with beverages and cookies). Breakfast incurs an extra charge, but it's well worth it. Generous, varied, and delicious! They also have the best assortment of beverages that I've seen. All of the employees are kind, friendly, and helpful. We definitely want to return on our next trip to Europe!

Absolutely loved this property ..we had a room on first floor I believe it was A4? It looked out onto courtyard and was an upgraded room which gave us a lot more room then the basic room that our friends had in the basic Bed was great amenities okay though would have loved a hair conditioner added to bath amenities as hard to get comb through long hair. And a better way to cool room ...if dont do AC then maybe ceiling fans?? Loved the availability of coffee/tea and the courtyard was a wonderful place to have a morning coffee.

Casa Julia is not a luxury hotel (and does not claim to be), but it has no bad surprises.
The personnel was impeccably polite and professional, and the place very clean.

Room is way too small for the price. No AC or fan in the room, shall be very hot during the summer time. Also the room has two windows toward the street, so literally pedestrians can see inside the window without curtain. When you put luggage down, you barely have room to move.. Bathroom was okay but you can see the age. Location is okay but quite far away from central Delft.
Plus, the staffs are not very helpful. They gave me wrong information... The only good part is you can have free parking, and it's a walk-able distance to royal delft.

I absolutely loved my stay at Casa Julia. From the moment I walked in, I found the staff to be extremely accommodating. When I arrived my room was not yet ready so my luggage was stored and I was led to a beautiful garden and brought a cup of coffee. Within a short time, my room was ready and I found the room to be excellent. The room was clean and decorating nicely. I was pleased to find adequate lighting and lots of electrical outlets, including USB. Additionally, there was a carafe of water that was filled each day. The wifi was excellent and they even provided a \"handy\" which was a smartphone which could be used for GPS, wifi and local calls when in Delft. This was great for way-finding and looking up places as I walked through town.
There were lovely gathering areas in both the garden and the eating area.
Breakfast was great - with lots of options for beverages and food it was all very fresh.

This is a good value hotel. However, we were disappointed that they didn't make it clear that breakfast was €15 pp p/day at check in... had we known this, we wouldn't have eaten there. Why? Cold ham and cheese isn't worth that, especially when the edge of the cheese is stale. So, not overly pleased with a €60 breakfast charge at checkout.

The room seemed like it hasnt been used for a while, so it was a bit dusty. Also the water pressure from the shower head was very weak.
Other than that, it was overall very good, with excellent breakfast, staff with great service and perfect location if you are here for an interview at TU Delft! Great quality for its price.

We found this great Hotel online and booked a stay for one night to accommodate our travels in Delft. We fell in love with our room and the neighborhood that we decided to stay another night and thankfully they had availability. Comfortable bed, nice big shower and really clean room. The friendliest staff you can find and good breakfast. Really had a lovely stay. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Very comfortable hotel within a ten-minute walk of Delft's center. The mattresses here are on the soft side, though they said they could provide a hard mattress if desired. We had trouble finding free parking with the map the hotel provided but were able to park overnight across the street for 29 euro. The staff here is quite friendly and helpful. A delightful hotel with helpful staff and clean and well appointed rooms. The breakfast is delicious and generous. Good coffee, tea and snacks are available 24 hours a day. The room and bathroom were pristine. Our room was large by European standards. Two things to be aware of though. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood just outside the old, canal-ringed part of the city. Most of the sightseeing spots are 1/2 a mile a way or more. We don't mind walking so the location was not a problem for us, but it could be for someone who has mobility limitations. I don't know how easy it would be to get a cab or take public transportation. We liked the fact that is was in a non-tourist neighborhood. Second, while we were there (April 16-20, 2017), the road outside our window (Room 5A) was under construction and the work, which was very noisy, started between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Again, we wake up early so it was not too much of an issue for us, but could bother others.
