Lovely nature-theme decor with tasty daily breakfast at GAIA Cafe downstair. Service is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room has an alcove furnished with bunkbed, a perfect hideaway for our teenagers who say this is their best hotel stay yet! Hotel is conveniently located in Oude Delft, within a short walk from the train and tram stations, the Oude Kerk Nieuwe Kerk, Musee Prinsenhof Delft, Royal Delft Museum and TU Delft. Rotterdam and Den Haag are a short train/tram ride away. Excellent value!

Nature-inspired hotel

My daughter and I had a pleasant stay at Hotel de Plataan.
Our twin room had a nature-inspired theme and we felt very relaxed in there. The heating in our room was not working during our 4-night stay, which was reported. A duty manager came to investigate it but the heating still didnt work during our stay.
Our breakfast was served downstairs in the restaurant each morning. The breakfast was wonderful. There was was a selection of teas and coffees, cereals, cheeses, breads, and omelettes could be made by the chef upon request.
The hotel is well situated in Delft. Delft train station is less than a 10-minute walk away. The shops, main square and cafes are all within a 10-minute radius from the hotel.

Funky hotel fairly central in Delft with a good breakfast included. We stayed one night in this spot. Nice room with eclectic decorating and updated washroom. Main issue was the room was really warm, even though it wasn’t really hot outside. Ceiling fan helped for main part of room, but the nook with bunk beds was excessively warm with no air circulation, and only one window could be opened slightly. Kids were pretty uncomfortable. High price but that seems par for the course in the Netherlands.

This hotel is excellent and stylish, boasting unique features in each room. Its central location means it's just a short walk from the main square, the old/new church, and the Vermeer House, making it an ideal spot.

The hotel exudes a relaxed atmosphere, offers a great breakfast, and features a charming and vibrant restaurant/bar with views of a quaint square.

While the rooms are comfortable and somewhat basic, they serve their purpose well, providing a convenient base for exploring the delightful city.

Great fun room. Location on the square is fantastic. Walking distance to everything. A room with an actual ceiling fan was nice. Great buffet breakfast. Outdoor seating area ia a must in the evening as the square comes to life. We walked to the Delft Porcelin museum no problem. All the service staff was courteous and helpful.

Restaurant and décor preserve the historicalness of the building while the rooms have been designed to reflect a specific theme. Choose with whichever one you like.

Was in Delft for a conference. The breakfast buffet was a bonus- well catered for with local products. The room was of decent size and clean and tidy. I had a great view overlooking the plaza (room 104). Bed comfortable.
As was doing some work within the room, it would have been good to have coffee/ tea facilities- though the cafe was just downstairs. Also, the soap dispensers kept falling off...

Loved the vintage ambiance. The location povided an excellent base from which to esxplore the Hague. Delf is just the right size to explore, meet people and do a little shopping. I'd stay there again and recommend it as a welcome change from the cookie cutter lodging of the big hotel chains.

Great hotel for a trip to Delft. Quirky but comfortable and reasonably priced. It is located in a quiet part of town near some bars and restaurants but is still only a few minutes walk from the main areas. We ordered a standard room but received a free upgrade to a ‘themed’ room. The hotel has several of these rooms which are decorated in different styles. Ours was done as a French house. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included and this was very good. We only stayed one night but if returning to Delft we would definitely stay there again.

We opted to stay in Delft instead of crowded, expensive Amsterdam. Easy train ride (one hour) to Amsterdam. The hotel is eclectic in a nice way. Parking was free. Hotel centers around plants and flowers. A canal is alongside the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The room was interesting. Clean but not modern facility. Elevator available. Room itself was on two levels, bed and bathroom on lower half, sitting area and desk on 3-steps up area of room. Bells from nearby church, does ring frequently but is charming. Very close to sites and to train station. All of the Netherlands bike so you have to be careful. Bar and outside terrace available. Staff spoke English and were very helpful and professional. Would definitely stay there again.

Delightfully quirky in a great location

Different in style to the usual chain hotels the De Plataan is delightfully quirky with each room individually designed. The designs might not be to everybody's taste but there is no doubting they are different. Our room was equipped with an electrically adjustable bed which was ideal for my bad back and led to one of the most comfortable stays I have ever had in a hotel. Not too sure whether every room has the same type of bed so it is best to check beforehand.
Situated in a delightful square with a couple of restaurants opposite it is still very quiet and peaceful yet still only a short five minute walk to the centre of Delft. A good breakfast and on-site parking all included in I would heartily recommend this hotel.

Lovely, friendly, great breakfast

This is a lovely hotel. Each room is unique, with custom, tree-themed decoration. The location is right in old Delft, right by many bars and restaurants and lovely canals. It is easy to get around. Service was great. Breakfast was delicious - a good variety, excellent bread and no single use containers. My only complaint may reflect my age - the beds were needlessly squishy and narrow. They were interesting as they had motors and you could lift the head or feet. But, they provided little back support and, if you rolled over near the edge, they deposited you on the floor. If you are younger with a stronger back, this would be irrelevant, but it made me a bit achy in the morning. I'd recommend this hotel, unless you have a back issue, though. So sweet, price is right and the breakfast was better than one we had the next night in a much more expensive hotel. Free WiFi was strong and reliable.

Disappointed. It does not deserve a 4.3/5 rating.

The good thing about the hotel is its location, very close to downtown area. But most all hotels are concentrated in that area. So it's not specific to this hotel, and everyone else has an excellent location as well. What's not good about this hotel? Well..., many. The bed is too soft to be comfortable when sleeping. The washroom is too small. When sitting on the toilet stool, the wall is like less than a foot from your face. The shower place is so tiny that for a big guy it would be hard not to touch the walls when taking shower. There is not soap bar, no tissue, nothing. Probably comparable to Motel 8. Definitely not worth the 4.3 average rating. Will not stay here again.

The double bed was two very skinny singles so the gap between them often woke me up. The bedcover was also two separate single quilts. They didn't cover me properly as they slipped apart. Window was a bit high and small too but I enjoyed the wonderful staff there. They were all so kind, friendly and helpful. And yes Delft is a great place to visit and the hotel with its themed rooms is a real change from most hotels.

Fantastic Delft Hotel

The two girls that were on the front desk were absolutely fabulous; very helpful and made a phone call for us when my phone was not working. The hallways and room was decorated in a unique style. Bathroom walls were glass with leaves painted on them with the corner being the tree trunk. You were not able to see that much of the person taking a shower. The location was a short walk from the market square and churches, dinning places. One of the girls suggested the Pelican. Excellent food and good beer. Again the staff was extra friendly and extremely helpful. Free parking was a plus.

The rooms all have a theme. We stayed in the ship room. The room was very clean and has a new bathroom with a walk in shower. Very clean. The breakfast was just fine and the location is great to walk everyway. We also found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend it for anyone who would like
a different experience.

We had the family room with bunk beds. Unfortunately, only one small window and no fan, so it was very very hot. There was a second window, but it was sealed shut. If the weather is pleasant, I am sure this is a lovely place to stay. Great location. Breakfast was fine.

One night only, passing through Delft. This was a comfortable, friendly hotel only 5 minutes from the centre. Quite old fashioned, but with a very unusual decor. Check out the website.

We had a lovely stay at de Plataan, and it has an excellent position so close to the centre of Delft and with its own parking. The hotel is full of character with painted themed rooms, showing a great sense of humour. Breakfast was excellent each morning and we enjoyed the cafe downstairs. Our room was set up with bunk beds for two children tucked away behind a wall and our daughter enjoyed her \"own space\"!

A lovely, whimsical hotel in a gorgeous square.

My mom stayed in the Amber room. It was a tad dark and difficult to for my 82 year old mom to navigate. But she thought it was fun. My husband and I had the Tamarind room. We loved it. The Big Dipper and Orion constellations on the ceiling were a delightful touch.

The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. The elevator they installed was essential for my mom. And the parking lot out back was very convenient in a city that seems very short on parking.

Best of all was the neighborhood. The hotel faces an artsy little square, lit up with strings of lights and a huge table lamp that looks like it belongs at the Burning Man festival. There's a cinema and a few cute little cafes. We had dinner at the little French bistro in the square called Lef. Great food and a very charming staff. Delf is a gorgeous little city. Hotel de Plataan is the perfect, quirky little hotel in the center of it all. Couldn't recommend it more highly!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We even got a welcome drink from the bar. The breakfast was also very good. On the way to the hotel, we discovered that a street two blocks away, which has a supermarket, was lined with cherry trees in full bloom. The hotel is close to the main square, in a quiet neighborhood in a charming town. Some of the rooms are a bit unusual, but ours was very spacious and nice with beautiful night views of the old and new church steeples.

Great location

This hotel is located within easy walking distance to the center of Delft. Even so the rates are on the high side, it would be nice if they included the breakfast in the room-rate, as 15 euros PP for breakfast is a bit high.
When we checked in we were not greeted in a friendly way, but the staff after this initial greeting were more friendly.
This was our second time at this property, but we will not return.

Bedden prima, alleen erg warm op de kamer, raam kon alleen op kiep, klein beetje. Wel plafondventilator. Maar het was ook 30 graden buiten.
Heerlijk ontbijt, zeer vriendelijk personeel.

Bra parkering på hotellets innergård (fick som tur är hjälp att hitta dit av personalen då hotellets skylt var svår att se). Det enda som var negativt var att det saknas en riktig dörr till toaletten i familjerumnet.
