Catch up into the 21st century with your hotel

We have been staying at this hotel for over 15 years and have never stayed in the same room twice.
This one topped them all for being uncomfortable - it may have a bit to do withe the temperature being in the mid 30's for most of the stay but hey when you charge so much at least have air-conditioning in the rooms. Yes, we had windows that opened but onto a cobbled street with bikes, suitcases, drunks and trollies going past ALL night.
Delft is a beautiful city and it is such a pity to leave on a sour note of no sleep for 4 days

Very characterful hotel close to the old market square and old Delft town. So near lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. But also close to a large parking area on the edge of the old town so avoiding tricky trips round the tiny canal streets.

What a brilliant find, right in the centre of Delft and a couple of minutes walk from the train station. A huge room and a huge comfortable bed. Great nights sleep and with great staff on reception, what more could you ask for! Will be back.

The location is good. The room is nice with high ceilings and you do not hear the outside at all, or the lifts etc. Location is five star. That's the only good part. Staff are polite but have no initiative or ability to help with anything. Room was not cleaned, bathroom flush does not latch, one light in the bathroom was not working, there was no kettle or coffee maker. When you ask staff they never do anything without repetition. We landed early and were waiting for our room at reception. We were the only ones waiting for over 2 hours, yet they only confirmed the room was ready after we asked again. Parking is expensive and reception won't tell you how it works. Reception manager was outright rude. It is not a 4 star, the stars are for service.

Lied about Parking - No explanation

When we arrived we were told they had a partnership with a parking at the other side of the city and that we could leave the park there for free. We wasted time going back and forth between the parking and the hotel. Next day when we do the check out the woman at the desk simply said that what we were told was not true and did nothing for us but to give us an email address. Even when we asked for a the supervisor or a formal complaint. We could have stayed at a parking in front of the hotel for the same price. But the worst is their customer service... nonexistent.

The hotel is really well located. It does NOT have parking. If you plan to bring your car consider 20 additional euros. Some areas smell really old, rooms are tiny and ours had a view to an alley plus the windows had just small ventilation, with no AC the night was quite warm (summer). Going upstairs with suitcases was not very practical. But we were ok and Delft was worth the visit!

Good location. Walk down the alley way by the hotel and you are in old town Delft in 2 minutes.

If location and price are your top considerations, this is the hotel for you. The staff was very helpful and the linens and towels seemed clean. Otherwise, the room was a bit dingy, it's a block from a church bell tower which does ring every 30 minutes and there will be stairs.

Very good hotel in downtown Delft. Easy to walk to restaurants, shops, musea. Public (paid) parking (Prinsenhof) at about 50m. Nice breakfast with freshly squeezed (self squeezed, so you know what you get) orange juice.

Charming, great location in the middle of Delft

Location is right in the middle of the city centre of Delft. It is in an old building, which is charming yet also means you need to bring earplugs. My room looked out on a busy alley, so opening my window wasn't really an option. Service was great, room was clean and I loved my bath tub. Overall charming.

Our room had no heat as the radiator was not working.We asked for a heater or for another room but we were not there was nothing available.We were promised a heater but as they forgot it did not turn up till the next day.I like Best Western hotels but this was totally unacceptable especially as the weather was so cold.

The hotel is in an excellent location to walk to the sites; the room was very nice: spacious, clean and well appointed. Our room was in the middle building adjacent to the small alley/pedestrian and bike street which had a lot of activity. The windows are not well insulated so the noise was very bothersome; we would not take a room on that side of the property again. The breakfast (included in our rate) was excellent: very good variety and well prepared.

Room was extremely small. Ensuite was incredibly small. Room was noisy. Apart from the church bell going off every half hour, the noise of the kitchen bins being filled maybe twice an hour, staff smoking in the back chatting away, it was not good. Bed was uncomfortable. Very hard in the middle. Now I have back ache also not a very wide bed and I'm not that big. Food and breakfast was excellent. Location is very quaint and access to the town is perfect but beware that its right next to the church......the bell....12 times at midnight too!

Not quite the \"Best\" Western.

The room was fairly small (standard double room), the basin was cracked, towels on the old side and the interior overall quite dated. Although there was a coffee machine in the room, it was a nightmare to use and we ended up purchasing coffee at a restaurant instead.

On the positive side, the hotel is right in the heart of Delft and within easy walking distance to almost any place you would want to go in town. Good for a place to sleep at night.

Overall, not bad, but also not the most elegant of hotels.

Whilst the hotel is in a great location when I discovered the room I had ordered wasn’t allocated the attitude by staff on the insistence I got my double twin room
Was dismissive and rude. The phone call to reception was terminated by the receptionist and I consider this to be unacceptable.

Was eventually reallocated the following day but it was forced service rather then attention to the booking that was made.

It was clear coming via a third party at this hotel made you feel like they did not care for your business

We really loved the uniqueness of our room. Very cute and gave us an extra sense of staying in Europe. The beds were comfortable, there was additional supplies in the bathroom that were not found elsewhere in Holland: disposable face towels & body lotion. We found the breakfast to be very expensive for what we were served, however, it was very good.

Not a 4* room by a long shot. Disappointing

It may be a 4* hotel but the room, no 130 in The Residence, was at best 3*. The beds were the biggest concern. No mattress protectors, sheets that didn't fit the 2 single mattresses that were side by side, so it was impossible to keep them in place. The night we arrived, when we turned down the quilts, we found hairs on one bed and the other bed had a crumpled sheet. It was after 1 in the morning when we discovered this, so we knew we'd get nowhere re clean bedding at that hour and were too tired to do anything but remove the hairs and hope for the best! Also, one of the sheets had a threadbare patch as though someone had put a nasty toenail through it. The carpet is in need of a good cleaning, I can put up with threadbare in places, but not a buildup of dust and dirt.

We hung the sign on the room door each morning requesting cleaning. We stayed three nights and came back to the same sheets on the bed, and nothing more done with them than the quilts pulled up over the sheets. If we had left in a hurry before making an attempt at straightening the sheets they were left in the same crumpled state. We've never stayed in a 4* hotel before where the same bedding was left for more than two nights. We also alerted reception on the first morning that the shower was filling up with water to a high level due to presumably a blockage in the drain. Nothing was done about it for the time we were there. The water supposed to be available in the rooms had to be asked for at reception.

Museum hotel

The hotel is in the old part of Delft with the old historic houses and stunning architecture and there are the many little bridges over the canal that are ornate in some cases.

There are many lovely shops to see, a very large market on Thursday morning and the are about 250 restaurants to choose from.

With a student population of 15000 the city is very vibrant but not rowdy. It is a joy to walk around both day and night and to try some of the various places to eat.

A lovely hotel to stay with welcoming helpful staff in a great location.

We want to come again!

The hotel is is a great location. The parking is pretty far from the hotel, but very safe. The room was big, toiletries were excellent. This is not the hotel for you if you are a light sleeper unfortunately. The streets were pretty quiet when we were there, but we were still woken up by loud people walking by several times during the night. Breakfast was very good, and the woman serving at breakfast was lovely.

Great location pity about the room.beautiful canal side hotel. Our room was ground floor. The outlook was a a busy metre wide alley and a blank house wall. The room was very dark, needing a light on during the day so anyone passing could see in. So curtains needed closing all the time. Ask for a canal view if booking.

I reserved room at one hotel, they moved us to another. Very odd room with steps and room squished under eaves. I specifically chose this hotel for its location. Noted that other hotels had pulled the bait & switch in this town, so chose this one. Seems unfair to not get what you bargained for. Reception was unwilling to honor my reservation.

Convenient but quirky

The hotel is conveniently situated near to a range of amenities and in walking distance to the main station. The staff are cheerful, polite and helpful and checking in was a simple process. Finding my room, however, was a little bit of a challenge as the hotel is broken up into three buildings with different entrances and the third building is a fair walk down an alleyway from reception in which you have to be very mindful of the cyclists who show a wanton disregard for pedestrian safety! Once found, my room was a good size and the rooflights made it light and airy. However, it's proximity to a church with a chiming bell, a sash window that couldn't be properly sealed and a vent that didn't fully close meant that sleeping past 5am was a challenge! The amenities in the room were good although the coffee machine didn't work. There was a good choice of food and drinks at breakfast and overall the stay was fairly good value for money.

I was very much amazed about the check inn time which they told at the reception to be not earlier than 15.00 pm. Also the room was much smaller than expected and the bed for one person in real terms, not to mention the fact the bed sheets were not changed at once during the 3 night staying...so all in all this was not what we paid for.

The maximum heating level in the room was not high enough. The single glazed window (with gaps in it) allowed a lot of draft and noise (from all the construction on the main road) through it. The hotel was in a good location.
