The Alex Lake is a high end property. My room was spacious, clean and modern and offered a great view of the lake. The hotel restaurant's truffle ravioli was awesome. The staff's courtesy was fair; I had a difficult time getting logistical information from them. In addition and, in contrast to what is on the internet, I was disappointed in the hotel's proximity to the city train and also the availability of its boat shuttle into the city or sister restaurants. I selected this hotel in part for these reasons but found both to be not as accessible as advertised. Due to the boat's odd schedule, I was not able to use that amenity at all. While I would stay there again on a future visit to Zurich, I would consider other options first.

Super friendly staff, very modern and clean room with a stunning view over Lake Zürich. Naturally a bit high-priced, but you definitely get what you pay for: it's a luxury hotel and you receive first-class treatment. Excellent breakfast buffet. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and walkable, with a simple but great Italian restaurant within a five-minute walking distance if you do not want to dine at the hotel.

This was perhaps one of the loveliest hotels I've stayed in, and that is saying a lot. The staff were so very welcoming, attended to every need and wish. They have a boat to take you to/from downtown Zurich, which we highly recommend. The local ferries tour often around the lake also if you are looking to see more of the lake, as well as a more affordable option.

Well run and decorated hotel. However, we booked a full lake view room (not partial lake view) but room literally had half lake view, other half being the L shape of the building so not nice at all. Lake is the main selling point there so rooms must be named properly.

We had a corner room facing the lake which was well laid out and had a balcony with a table perfect for breakfast and evening drinks. The kitchenette had a good size fridge, a very quiet dishwasher, and nice china, glasses and everything we could possibly need. The workout room was small, but good. The spa and jacuzzi were super relaxing. Large outdoor dining terrace - good mussels, bouillabaisse, but not so good Flammkuchen. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The reasons I didn’t give it a full mark were because of the following:
1. The service is not yet perfect. Room make up was not 100% such as the kitchenette was still messy, and didn’t put back the used iron and hairdryer back to normal position after room makeup.
2. The pool in the spa was not a warm / hot type pool that no one would like to stay there.

Great location, great views, residents lounge with fruit and tea/coffee is a nice touch. Breakfast is amazing. However, not everything they advertise is in place yet and the staff are not yet trained to a premium hotel level. Still lacks the little things that you would expect like vanity kits or a choice of pillows. I expect that this will improve with time.

The property was a green sustainable building. All the lighting was LED and the bathroom floors were heated which was super luxurious since it tends to be a little colder in Switzerland. Loved the taxi service in to Zürich by boat And the guest lounge which offered free coffee fruit and water. The hotel was also only 10 minutes from the train station and about a 25 minute ride to Zürich or 35 minutes to Lucerne.All in all a wonderful experience!
