Bien mais quelques points décevant dont j’ai fait part au checkout.
Je regrette beaucoup le fait d’avoir du mal à finir mes deux nuits correctement en raison d’une mauvaise isolation phonique.
Les voyageurs manquant globalement de discrétion dans un établissement ou l’on espère y trouver du sommeil.
Le lit était par contre de bonne qualité et confortable.
Mais une légère mauvaise odeur dans la chambre m’a dérangé des l’arrivée, probablement les moisissures dans la salle de bain et les wc.
J’ai apprécié la bouilloire et ce qui va avec.
Le personnel était agréable.
Et le parking à proximité bien pratique.
Je n’ai pas profité du petit déjeuner je ne peux donc pas en juger.

problème d'isolation sonores

Le personnel est très sympathique et a même accepté que je garde la chambre jusque midi.
Cependant, je dois reconnaître que je n'ai pas passé une bonne nuit à cause du manque d'isolation sonore de la chambre. Le bar en bas était bruyant mais ce qui m'a vraiment dérangé c'est d'entendre les voisions de chambre dans le couloir, ouvrir les portes (dans la nuit et tôt le matin)

a plus de 150 euros la nuit, cela n'ait pas acceptable. à 60 euros la nuit je n'aurait rien dit bien sur.
Le lendemain j'étais à Quimper et je n'ai pas eu ces problèmes alors que la chambre était à 76 euros.
J'ai même bénéficié d'un vrai lit double alors qu' à Rennes c'était 2 lits simples, ce qui fait qu'ils se désolidarise et c'est désagréable.

Et très bien situé, au calme proche de la gare à pied et proche du centre ville à pied également. Bons restos à proximité.

Great little hotel just a stones throw away from the old town and central district. We had great clean rooms obviously recently decorated and very comfortable. good secure parking for our cars. Only problem was Tuesday night as there was a busy and noisy bar close to the rooms on the front street, Wednesday night was quiet so don’t know if this was a regular noise night.

While the actual apartment was nice, it was hard to get past the initial arrival, when I discovered a very lived-in apartment that had not been cleaned beforehand. I had to notify the staff, then leave for a few hours to allow them to clean it. That has never happened to me before at a hotel. The breakfast was ok, but the fruit was old and somewhat rotten and not all the options were fresh or desirable. While I don't expect everyone in non-English speaking countries to speak English, the front desk staff not speaking English made my interactions difficult at times. I would absolutely not stay here again.

Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff

We stayed 2 nights at the Garden Hotel. It was very well located in Rennes, which was important to us. An easy 10 min walk to the train and metro station, and the same in the opposite direction for the fine arts museum and outdoor mall. Our room for 3 felt a bit small, but that is on me, as the room size was given in the details. The staff was extremely helpful in providing emergency information to my husband when I became ill, and generally pleasant as we went in and out. Our room was very clean well kept. The bed was comfortable, the shower was very nice with hot water for both of us and plenty of pressure. My only real complaint was when we returned from a daytrip, the radiator had been turned off in our room with no way for us to turn it back on. The same with the bathroom hot air heater - no remote. We should have spoken with the desk, but it was late and I was ill. We did find a small portable room heater in the armoire that did the trick, so we were fine. We did not take breakfast there, so I cannot speak to that. All-in-all, our stay during the cold, wet early winter season was good, the location and staff excellent, and the room clean and relatively comfortable.

Room was far too small, kettle too small, bathroom ok although floor was dirty and no toilet roll or tissues. No window in room only one in the door. There was no privacy as people were having breakfast outside our door.
We would certainly NOT recommend this place.

This hotel is better located than I first thought by just looking at the map. The facilities are bright and cheery, the staff helpful, the parking a real asset. These are not luxury facilities but they are equipped with everything needed. The breakfast is good and they even provided me with gluten free bread on the second day with advance notice. A great place to come back to!

Cozy hotel in a city with character

This was a convenient budget hotel great for a stopover to visit the city. The room was a bit battered but everything functional. Helpful friendly staff. The dining area is compact creating a friendly cozy family feel. Nice breakfast. I would definitely go back if visiting Rennes again.

Dated but clean

Comfortable room, dated and quite small but clean and useable. Fantastic location between the train station and middle of town, which was only a 5 min walk. Only problem was that you could hear voices and movements of other guests, wasn't constant or too loud but noticeable. Would stay here again despite this.

The hotel is located an easy 10 min walk from the main train station. We were allocated a family room at the Garden Apartment block just a minute walk from the main hotel. It was nice cosy place equipped with a stove, utensils and coffee maker. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms came with good Wifi connection. We had a great 3 night stay there.

Lovely little hotel close to centre of town

I had a wonderful 4 nights at this place. The staff were all excellent and went out of there way to help us. The location was fantastic, short walk from the train Station so great for day trips out of Rennes and close to the centre/old part of town which was beautiful to explore.

The breakfast is surely a plus and worth paying. Hotel location is fantastic and service outstanding. However, the hotel ad should mention very clearly that NON of the rooms have AC. This is important if you are given a room facing the main street. The initial room given to use was not clean and uncomfortable, but we were quickly given a much better room which was clean. Not sure if this new room was priced at the same rate since we did not pay extra, but it was bigger and way better. So it should be said that the NEW ROOM GETS very high marks for comfort and cleanliness, but NOT the INITIAL ROOM given to us.

Pleasant, central small hotel with kind staff

We had a lovely stay at the Garden Hotel and the staff were very helpful in getting my very heavy wheelchair up and down the steps into the hotel. The cleanliness could perhaps have been improved and we needed to ask for toilet paper a couple of times! The breakfast was good,especially if you go when it starts, although the staff did do a reasonable job of refilling things where possible.It wasn't their fault that some people seemed to regard the breakfast buffet as their own personal feast. The hotel is very centrally located, so everywhere is easy to get to including the main square where the buses from the airport stop and the railway/bus station. We would certainly stay again. Only one quibble, I left a brand new dress there (my own fault) and an email asking them to post it to me if I sent the money wass not even acknowledged, so check you haven't forgotten anything!

Cute hotel and good location and good value.

Just at the edge of the Rue Jean Janvier (near city/canal side, very close to Beaux Art Musuem) which is full of hotels and close-but-not-too-close to the railway station. Really like the center garden patio that makes this hotel special. Room was very good with kettle and lift. Easy to store my bike and has 24-hour reception so feel it's quite safe. The toilet was clean but has a slight pungent smell though I say it's minor.

Very pleasant hotel

Hotel was pretty close to the train station (less than 1km) and close to the downtown area of Rennes. Nice staff, room was small, but pleasant and had nice views of the garden. Some nice touches, like a tea kettle and blow dryer made the stay especially pleasant. Very close to some small stores for baguettes, meat, cheese and pastries, so very easy to have a quick meal in between travels.

Don't know why but it reminded me of a really cosy little family run motel from the states, I know i stayed on a Sunday night but the area was so quite, it enabled me mohave one of the best nights sleep i have had for ages, not quite up with the big chain hotels but it had a charm to the place which means I would stay their again

The location of this hotel was great. It was right in the middle of all the areas of Rennes that you might want to see. We walked everywhere. Parking was reasonable (10 euros/night) and very close by. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The hotel itself was in rougher shape than I would have liked. Our room was perfectly sizable and serviceable for three of us (though it was definitely more of a old European style hotel than many North Americans would be accustomed to). The beds were a little uncomfortable, things felt a little run down in the room and the heater in the bathroom was a distinct fire hazard. The wallpaper below it had actually scorched with the heat of it so I don't think that I'm being over-reactionary here. The bathroom was a squeeze (I am 5' 10\" and weigh 130 lbs and it was close quarters for me). That said, everything was clean and our stay was just fine.

great place in great location

lovely little place a few blocks from the train station and not far from the center of town. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. my room was a little bit small but it was cozy and comfortable. it was a hairdryer had coffee maker in the room which I really appreciate it. They also had plenty of color maps The cave up for free. I had a great stay there for two nights.

I flew to Renne airport and stayed on my arrival and before my departure. It is only a short walk from the centre, station and airport bus. My first room was a small double with rather gloomy lighting and lacking a picture but had an excellent modern en suite, the second was a bigger room with better lighting and pictures but the bathroom was older with a bath and the shower head attachment had broken. A pleasant room though. The first room looked out onto a busy road but the double glazing was good. The only problem was that it was then very hot, the second room was much quieter, off a small balcony with the outlook onto rather scruffy tenement buildings. However it is in the centre of a city so it's not surprising! There is a pleasant small courtyard area where you can have drinks, breakfast etc. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and all that I met spoke good English.

Dans l’ensemble bien, très bien placé

Le personnel de l’hôtel est véritablement très charmant. On se sent super bien accueilli, avec le sourire. L’hôtel est très bien placé et facile d’accès avec le petit parking privé. L’appartement dans lequel nous avons séjourné est à côté du parking, à 2 pas de l’hôtel, et comportait tout ce qu’il fallait.

Il a y cependant selon moi un manque dans les détails et finition. Le ménage n’était pas super bien fait. Le pommeau de douche était cassé.

Es ist etwas kompliziert, den Parkplatz ist 100 m weiter der Strasse entlang und das Zimmer nicht im Hotel sondern separat in einer Seitenstrasse Achtung Fahrer mit E-Auto sehr kompliziert zum Laden. In den Parkhäusern nur mit Französischen Steckdose zu laden, geht x Stunden zum Laden. Öffentliche Parkplätze keine Ladestationen. Ein Tag genügt für Rennes zu besichtigen.

C'était mon 4ème séjour dans cet hôtel. Je trouve que la qualité du petit déjeuner à baisser : choix de pains et viennoiserie plus limité, ou de moins bonne qualité. Fromages coupés secs.
D'autre part, j'avais pris un parking : le dimanche matin, j'ai eu la surprise de retrouver ma voiture dans l'eau ! La Vilaine était en crue, et dans la nuit, celle-ci a débordé dans le parking. Il aurait été préférable de prévenir les clients la veille, ou tôt le matin. J'avais de l'eau à mi mollet. Si j'étais parti plus tard, je pense que je n'aurais pu la récupérer.

L'accueil, la chambre sur le patio sans les bruits de la ville, le petit déjeuner, la localisation, tout était parfait. Le patio/jardin joliment aménagé ville est très appréciable.

Avis mitigé ...

Chambre avec 3 lits simples alors que j'avais demandé une chambre avec un lit double. Une petite porte de séparation avec la chambre voisine. Dès que ma voisine de chambre toussait, j'avais l'impression que nous étions 2 dans ma chambre. Heureusement que nous étions calmes toutes les 2 !
Petit-déjeuner très bien.
Je ne vais pas renouveler l'expérience.

Hôtel Garden à Rennes

J'ai dormi 1 nuit dans cet hôtel et j'ai passé une nuit agréable. L'accueil est chaleureux, l'emplacement de cet hôtel est proche de la gare de Rennes, du cinéma Gaumont et de la salle de spectacle \"Le Liberté\". 😊
