Even tho it was difficult to circulate in RENNES, the hotel stay was fine! The room and bathroom were clean and inviting! the room was well insulated from outside noises The staff was charming and very helpful! If you are traveling by train this is an ideal stop over in RENNES,and if by car you don't mind walking a little bit there are plenty of parking!

Hôtel à fuir. Nous avons déposé notre bagage le matin et prévenu la réception que nous serions de retour tard le soir. A notre retour, aucune chambre n’était disponible pour nous accueillir. A minuit, nous avons été orienté vers un hôtel d’une chaîne différente, où nous avons dû régler une chambre à un tarif plus élevé. Difficile de recommander le Campanile de Rennes Centre Gare après cette expérience ! En général, Campanile est une chaîne de piètre qualité.

Good choice for the city center, close to the tran station and bus terminal, with many restaurants in the area. Our room was large enough, clean, and provided with the basic services. Receptionist was kind to help us with a little problem with closure of the window.

A 19h je leur indique ne toujours pas avoir de serviette, on le dit que la personne est en train de faire le tour des chambres. A mon retour à 20h30 toujours pas serviette c est la réceptionniste qui m'en donne 1. Le lendemain pb de carte qui ne fonctionne plus. Et le 2eme jour 5 mn pour que la porte se verrouille.... Petit detail mais qui gâche un peu le séjour.

This hotel is very basic in it's amenities, but what we needed for quick overnight stay and early train. Location to the ststion is perfect. However, we had major difficulties finding the hotel by car due to one way streets and those closed to cars for buses only around the train station. The hotel should provide clear directions.

An excellent choice for a two day stay in Rennes. Extremely close to the station and an easy walk into the old town. The added bonus for us was allowing us to store our luggage at the hotel while we made a two day trip to Le Mont Saint Michel. This was greatly appreciated. The bus stop for Mont Saint Michel was a few minutes walk from the hotel.

HI- As mentioned earlier I was not allowed check in at this Hotel. And I dont understand why Hotels. com is confirming check in & asking review. And to add there was no hotel room available in city at that hour and we drove 270kms to get to city after had confirmed booking. very disappointed.

Good location, very near the train station, only bad thing is the area attracts homeless, drunks and so on sitting around the vicinity of the hotel. Sometimes, a bit unpleasant.

I only had a short stay but the hotel and its staff seemed efficient and friendly. Decisions about the room I had were well made.( I assume other rooms were similar). Size good. Design simple but helpful. Hotel was very close to the station but in a pleasant street with good parking nearby and on the edge of the city centre.

Poorly maintained/designed bathroom
Sealing strips were detached from the lower half of the shower doors so quite a bit of water from the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. I had to be very careful not to slip. The bathroom was poorly designed. The toilet faced the sink and there was a tiny gap between them. I had to put a towel on the ledge above the sink so that I wouldn't bruise my forehead on the ledge when washing my face. I suppose others have sat on the toilet in order to use the sink.

Very convenient location if you are traveling by train. I appreciated the location of the hotel, as I could get checked into my room right after my train travel and rest for a bit. The city is not that big so I had no problem walking everywhere I wanted to go. I was not in Rennes very long but I liked the city and enjoyed staying in this hotel. I would recommend it to friends and family and would definitely stay here again myself. I'm a big fan of the Campanile hotels after staying in 3 of them during my travels in France this summer. Added bonus: they had a computer in the lobby with a printer, which I used to print some train tickets.

Convenient and adequate for a one night stay
The hotel was well located for the SNCF Railway Station and just a 5-10 minute walk to the main attractions, shops and restaurants Rennes has to offer.
My room was quiet and quite comfortable. However It was on the ground floor and had no view. Also although my room was well heated the corridor outside was freezing
I like to practice my limited French with the staff. However when I ran into difficulties shortly after arrival I found the reception staff had no English at all and spoke French too fast for me. When I approached her she was on the phone and ignored me until finishing her call.
My difficulty was I could not get the lights in my room to stay on! It transpired when I managed to get the staff to come with me to my room she showed me that the door key that one tags to unlock the room then has to be put in a receptical just inside the door to make the lights work. I have not come across this arrangement before? It would have been helpful if guests arriving could be given this information in writing in their own language when they check in.

The hotel was just across the street from the train station-a very handy location. We were able to catch the bus across the train station the next morning easily to spend the day at Mont St. Michel. That was the purpose for the reservation at this hotel for the night before and the night after our day trip.
