The hotel is undergoing renovations. We may have been on a floor that had yet to be renovated. A lamp and a charger were unplugged. But the room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We would stay there again.

The first night we were in a room where there was constant noise due to the elevator going up and down. It sounded like someone was hammering outside our bedroom all day and night. We then ask to be moved to another room. The third night there was no hot water so we couldn't take a shower comfortably. Very disappointed for the price we paid per night.

The room was okay some of the outlets were unsafe you would plug something in and the outlet would kinda push into the wall or would let the cord go in all the way. There was no hot water in shower which was unfortunate but we weren't the only guests that had that problem

Part of the reason we stayed was for an opportunity for our kids to swim. The pool was closed from Monday afternoon until Tuesday when we left. Th water looked murky and we were told that overuse over the weekend caused the problem. When asked if there was any remediation for this situation, I was told I could check out the local YMCA.

Room was never cleaned/sheets were not changed (after being requested). The front desk staff gave out incorrect information on a printed flyer, but didn’t bother to change it.
The elevator is incredibly loud and could be heard through the walls all night long.

The room was OK. There is a hole in the insid of the bathroom door and the shower drain was in multiple pieces. There was also spots of a powder black substance on the comfortor cover that concerned me. There was no one staffing the front desk as I left or I would have mention these things. They are likely only noticible if you spend a night in the room.

The frontdesk person I met upon check in and the breakfast room staff were great - friendly and gracious.

Room was clean and spacious, and staff courteous, helpful, prompt. Breakfasts (we had three days worth) were better than we've experienced elsewhere and breakfast/kitchen staff very attentive. The pool was clean and well kept, and it's big enough to do mini-laps and often empty enough to allow this. One recommendation for improvement: more grab bars in the bath tub/shower combination. Our room had a grab bar to assist with entrance, but bars on the side and back of the shower stall would make showering more safe for everyone.

The hotel is nothing special and desperately needs a renovation. My closet was broken, the bathroom was cramped, and the shower temperature was inconsistent. However, I really enjoyed the 24/7 latte and cappuccino machine, that was a great amenity.

The room looked nice at first, then I went to take a shower and there was pubic hair in the shower. The sink looked like someone brushed and rinsed and left crumbs of something. There was hair on the floor, like no one swept, vacuumed or moped it. Had to get off the bed because the front desk called that my accident fee was not charged when the first guy said it was all set. The elevator noise was very annoying, it made it hard for me to fall asleep. I’ve stayed there before and was not like this.

1. heating initially did not work and the heater had to be replaced, but after that the insulation was bad and very cold air (it was very windy and below freezing) came in.
2. there was a continuous construction project in the next room, next to 519, making noise

The property and facilities feel quite dated. The bathtub drain wouldn’t close properly, and the bathtub faucet was loose. The hotel also does not offer laundry facilities or laundry service, which was surprising to me.

That said, everything else was great, especially the super friendly staff and the hot and freshly prepared breakfast.

Contacted the hotel to ask about early check in and was told I could check in anytime after 1pm.

Showed up at 2pm and was told check wasn’t til 3… Told them about the conversation I had previous with their staff and they again said check in is at 3…

Waited 35 minutes at the desk until they found me a room after telling me they were all dirty.

Got a key, went up to 6th floor and it didn’t work… went back down to desk to get a new key, back up to 6th floor and still didn’t unlock the room…

Went back down again and eventually they sent maintenance up to the room with me again with another key that didn’t work…

I was let in the room by a master key from maintenance and then asked if I needed a key for myself…

Overall a slow and horrible entry into the property and no way would I ever go here again.

The maintenance worker eventually got the front desk to make a key that work and delivered it to my room and I’m grateful for that.

Room was moderately clean. Bathroom should have been cleaner and I decided to skip the complimentary breakfast out of fear of cleanliness.

Pool heater was not working at the time of our stay earlier this month. I explained that we traveled specifically for the pool so my son could swim for his bday. I was advised to checkout a day early, then call back to speak to the manager regarding a refund for the 2nd night (that we did not stay) and perhaps a partial refund for the first night. I have left multiple messages and no one has even bothered to call me back. Terrible customer service and no way to get a response.

Everything was great, as on my past stay, clean rooms, comfy bed, good breakfast, the on-site restaurant is good, unfortunately starting the last week of December, they are adding a $100 deposit at check-in, which while it is refunded upon checkout, could take up to 10 days to post to one's account. It really is a pity, I have to travel to that area twice a month and if it were not for that excessive deposit, I would continue to choose this hotel for my stay.

In all of my hotels stays I've ever had - this has been maybe the worst. Thank goodness for Expedia customer service who helped out in this unfortunate situation and was able to leave and book elsewhere for rest of days.
Problems w/ Best Western:
1. No hot water in shower or sink. Daughter had to take cold shower before school.
2. Bed mattress springs broken, half went down to box spring. Had to sleep on half the bed.
3. Construction happening in room right next door to me. 9am woke up to hammering on the wall and sound of sawing/cutting next door. Construction workers going in and out of rooms and into the elevator (Probably why there was no hot water in my room. Go figure!)
4. heater kept clicking loudly all night, couldn't sleep.
5. Pillows lacking compared to other hotels
6. Microwave had serious problems
7. Smoking smell wafting into hallway area outside the gym downstairs and into the elevators.
7. dirty carpets with weird looking stains.
8. 24/hr coffee bar did not have hot water for tea at nite. It says hot chocolate on the paper they give you, but none to be found. front desk guy tried and also couldn't get the hot water to work and he just left.
8. hotel allows pets. Found dog pee in the elevator after seeing several guests with dogs coming and going.

The Good:
Breakfast A+. Good coffee, food.one of best in Waltham.
Parking,wifi,front desk people worked w/ Expedia to fix the situation and let me leave. Sorry for review, but people need to know

I was assigned a room and upon entering there was a guest already in it! Needless to say they were scared when I opened the door. Hotel staff didn't know it was occupied already!!! Then I was given a room without the amenities I paid for next to the elevator. I did not sleep at all from the noise. Serious security issue and lack of organization! Will not be returning.

Our room had what appeared to be mold in the hallway ceiling. It was discolored, flaking, and bulging. The bathroom had what looked like severe water damage that was painted over but bulging again. My husband is alergic to mold and immediately began sneezing when we got to the room. We thoughtWe didn't figure out what was happening until our 2nd and last morning. Our refrigerator froze all of our fruit and vegetables we put in there. We did not see a way to turn it down. We could hear hallway noise well and we could also hear a strange intermittent whirring sound. The elevator maybe?

It was convenient to our travel plans which was why I chose it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was large and very clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and quick. The tavern attached to the hotel was really cute and the food was good. I am so impressed and the cost was so low. I would stay again for sure.

I loved the pre check in. And I took full advantage of it gave my car plate number and time of arrival... when we arrived, they had stated that a room was not ready at three p m.And that my gift card for hotels dot com.Would not work. I did book the hotel through the website and I was given the option to pay now or pay later, so I chose to pay later.There was no way for them to input this.So I could not use my gift card... After being at the counter for 30 minutes of them trying the gift card.We offered up a new form of payment. Staff quickly said that the payment did not go through.Although we checked our bank and it's clearly clearly taken out of the account. The staff seemed flustered overwhelmed or just incompetent for checking people in when faced with a difficult situation.

I had a two-night reservation, and on the second night another guest walked into my hotel room claiming it was theirs. I was shocked and confused, and I told them there had to be a mistake because this was my room. Minutes later, the hotel staff called and asked me to come downstairs because they couldn’t find my name in their system. I had checked in the day before, yet somehow my information had vanished.

When I went to the front desk and showed my receipt, the staff member insisted I was supposed to check out that day. I pointed out that my checkout date clearly stated the following day. He then asked for my confirmation number—something that frustrated me because the receipt already showed my reservation. After providing it, he said everything was resolved.

I was furious because he couldn’t give me any explanation for what happened. All he said was that there had been a “glitch.” When I asked what caused it or how it was fixed, he had no answer. I explained that I am a woman traveling alone and felt unsafe, yet his only response was, “You’re all set.” He didn’t offer any form of accommodation or compensation—not even a room change or partial refund.

Safe to say, I will never be staying here again.

And they have a coffee and hot chocolate bar area that was convenient and nice to have after spending a cold day outside. The pool heat wasn't working, so we didn't get to use it, but it looks like a nice clean pool.

Of the hotels in the Waltham area, this is the drabbiest. The person behind the desk showed no interest in checking us in; she seemed to be in a rush to get our keys to us and get us out of there. She mentioned breakfast so quickly that I couldn’t understand her, and she said nothing about the other hotel amenities. Maybe it’s because I get great customer service at other hotels that I expect quality customer service when I check in. It was lacking here, and no one else was checking in. In addition, the elevators are LOUD! I could hear them from our room. Needless, we checked out as soon as we could and we won’t be back.

We had a very pleasant stay! The service was excellent—the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. We especially appreciated the size of our accommodation; the room was big and spacious. The comfortable room and great service certainly contributed to a lovely trip.

The only drawback was the bathroom, which felt very outdated and could definitely use a modern renovation. This is the only thing that kept the experience from being five stars.
